Location! Location! LOCATION!!! Loooooved this place! Stayed here for New Years 3 nights for a room for 5ppl was only $700 FAR LESS than most places I shopped around for. This place was 3 blocks from the casinos which made it super convenient to stay at. Was disappointed there wasn't an ice machine and then we found it haha right in front of the building in the middle of the parking lot (basically hidden haha). I loved the customer service and the beds were comfortable. My brother and his wife were sharing the room with my boyfriend and I and they thought the place was a little dirty. I consider myself to be a neat freak but it didn't bother me because I walk around in socks and I don't usually touch the walls... The bathroom looked to be updated and everything appeared to be super clean. Wish we got a room with a kitchen in it because that would have made our experience that much better (or cheaper than walking to the casinos to eat every few hours). Would def stay here again and I totally recommend it to anyone considering staying near Stateline but not in the expensive casinos!

I've never felt more welcome before at any inn or hotel.  The receptionist was warm and very friendly,  setting the vibe for an awesome weekend in tahoe. Definitely returning again with these exceptional pricings.

Literally the worst experience that I have had with a hotel. This motel's rate is very low compared to othere near by - now I know why. Dump on the outside/dump on the inside. Pool was not operational. When I asked why? I was told that it isn't June 21st yet and they don't have it operating until "summer" starts. It was 90 degrees in Tahoe on Saturday. Not all of the lights worked in the room. It smelled horrible. No hot water. When I complained the "owner" (who does not speak english) came up to "show" me exactly where to place the nossel on hot so you get HOT water. I also saw a black spider in the bathroom, when I showed the owner's wife, she CRUSHED the spider in her hands and told me that it wasn't a spider. I said - well whatever bug or spider it was - was crawling around in here whether you squished it or not.

When I asked for my money back I was told that they could only give me 1/3 of my money back. I was only in the room for 2 hours. UNBELIEVABLE! Don't stay here now matter how low the price is.

This review is to compare Cedar Inn with other inexpensive Tahoe motels. Yes, it does look dumpy on the outside but so do most others. On the inside, well, you get more than what you would at most other places in this price range. It's "quaint". It's a decent size, with a king bed, microwave & fridge. There's nothing fancy here, it's old. We were on the top floor so our ceiling was wood slats and beams. Kind of had a cabin feel. Had they painted it a bit different, it could have really made that feel. Bed was comfortable. When I sat on it I could tell it was soft, and I usually don't do well on soft mattresses but I slept well. The bathroom had a shower stall. It was all tile and looked pretty clean. The problem I had with it was that I'm 5'11" and the shower was about 6' 4". There was not a lot of headroom. The shower head stood at neck level. Carpets could use replacing. There's a 42" Panasonic flat screen. You are a couple of blocks from Harrahs, Harvey's and a lot of restaurants. The Heavenly gondola is just another block down. In the other direction is the beach, again, just a couple of blocks down. You get free beach access tickets when checking in. In the morning I took a walk while my girlfriend slept. Very nice walk in the surrounding neighborhood. All in all, I'd definitely stay again.

Elly, the lady who greets you at the front desk, is a warm and friendly character. The rooms are clean, and the beds are soft, warm, and new. Our room came with a WONDERFUL imitation wood, gas fireplace. In the middle of the room, this fireplace quickly brought our room to a toasty warm and wonderful temperature. Turning out the lights, the fireplace provides a nice cosy warm glow to the room.

Only one block from the casinos and two blocks from the gondola/shops area. Definitely coming back here. A wonderful value for your money.

Probably wouldn't stay here again.  Stayed in a room with a kitchenette, was pretty pricey for how shabby/old everything was.  The door was very difficult to unlock, took up to a minute each time to get in.  When I first arrived I noticed the room smelled fishy, after checking things out I discovered someone's old fish fillets in a pan in the oven, possibly from the previous guests (didn't look moldy, just smelled bad).  Once I removed the fish the room began to smell better and eventually was fine.  Heater was weak but did the job.  Bed seemed nice enough but too soft for my liking and woke up with some back stiffness.  Best thing about this place was its location, right in between the lake and the casinos/heavenly village.  Pretty much everything was within walking distance....Raley's, restaurants, movie theater, casinos, heavenly gondola ride.

I go to Lake Tahoe most weekends in season and don't really have a go to place for housing.  I usually search for friendly staff and no bugs on Yelp or Trip Advisor and if they pass these tests, they are in the pool of hotels I will choose from.  From here, my decision is mainly based on price, but with breakfast, hot tub and location of casinos taken into consideration as well.

Well Cedar Inn came up towards the top of my last search and they had everything going for them except the breakfast.  I thought I was booking direct, but my dumb ass actually called Travelocity.  They never announced the name of the company, just asked me where I wanted to stay, so I thought it was like a central reservations office for Cedar.  Oh well, I was booked at a good price!

So it is 1 block from the casinos on Stateline.  So close!  A motel type layout and small 5-6 person outdoor hot tub in the parking lot.  A nice lady greeted me and checked me in.  I was pissed about this bogus $3 tax I had to pay at check in.  I work in hospitality and am under the impression that these charges need to be disclosed at time of booking.  Oh well, it is only $3, I voiced my opinion of it and accepted my keys.  Stayed in room 2, right next to room 1 where the owner lives.  There were 2 double beds in the room as there were 4 of us total.

The front desk had a wine bottle opener for us which was great as we had a tasty beer we wanted to crack.  We had a little trouble getting the temp right in the room, but it wasn't too bad, especially for the price we paid.  While retrieving the wine opener, the owner asked if we could write a review for them and voice if we were dissatisfied with anything.  She mentioned the brand new beds we had and I thanked her for the nice flat screen tvs the rooms had.  The bathrooms were large and clean.  One of the best features was the variety of signature soaps and shampoos by the sink and in the shower.  They smelled great and were completely unexpected at a hotel of this caliber.  Not to mention, they probably cut down on waste and perhaps even saved on overhead.

Well the beds were quite comfy and we ended up being very happy with the room.  The hot tub you have to wait for to be empty as it is so small, but once in, we were supper happy with the temps.  The wifi was better than we expected and we actually kept it on.  The last couple hotels I've stayed at we ended up switching back to 3G as it ended up being faster.

After driving for breakfast, we decided we did not want to pay at Heavenly for parking to go riding, so we figured we'd ask if we could park for the day while we went riding.  The owner said no problem.  Awesome.  It's like 2-3 blocks to the Gondola, so it worked out quite nicely.

Well, we left satisfied and will be returning for certain.  They just need to figure how to add that $3 charge to their booking engine and the extranets like Expedia and Travelocity.  Once they do this, I may come back and move this to a 5-star review!

i will not be returning to cedar inn . the owners were extremely rude and thought it was okay to charge extra money on the second day we were for no reason. she claimed we were too loud and charged us 50$. when we asked why she did this, the woman owner had the audacity to say " you have a black person with you". like really!? how is that appropriate and professional. we were there for 4th of july, all the other rooms were playing music, having random people coming in and out, and yet, we get charged? the owners also called us in the middle of the night to tell us to turn our tv off? really?! needless to say, cedar inn will not be getting any business from us after this weekend.

Kinda off the beaten path but not far. Looks older but we only paid $46 on a hotel discount app. The hotel is older but the lady running the front was very nice. The rooms have actual keys! It was a decent room. Clean with everything we needed. Bed was super comfy. Plenty of parking. The worst thing was the AC unit ran and ran and I woke up a little cold. I thought it was decent for what we paid and clean enough to be satisfied. Would probably stay again.

This hotel would've received 4 stars if they would rip out the nasty carpet. Seriously, laminate flooring would be better...or re-carpet. The existing carpet was grungy and really took away from what was otherwise a pleasant stay....everything else was clean, comfortable bed, hotel is affordable, the manager is helpful/friendly, etc.

This place is great! It's everything you could hope for in a motel. It is walking distance to everything- shops, casinos, restaurants, heavenly, etc. In fact, Harvey's back door is almost on the motel's property- if that gives you any perspective of the location. The beds were comfy, the room was heated when we arrived, and our request for a hair dryer (not provided) was satisfied immediately. The owners are on-sight (seemingly) at all times, trying their best to make sure their guests are happy. The rooms, accommodations, and amenities are a reflection of that. Give mom and pop a boost- check this place out!

Other than the friendly staff this hotel is pretty disappointing. From the nasty moldy smell as soon as you open the door, to the mold on the bathroom floor. They have nasty soap and lotion dispensers that who knows what was in them. Stayed here after a day of skiing and trust me it was not a good nights sleep. Worst place I've ever payed to stay at. Spend the extra money and stay at another hotel.

Just got back from a wonderful trip to Tahoe! Booked at Cedar Inn off Booking.com and I must say, I was pleased with the experience.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and made my boyfriend and me feel welcome. The room was only a little sketch as we had a sliding glass door and not an actual door. But other than that, nice room! It's more old-school, but we had a microwave and fridge in room. The shower was fantastic! Tub was deeper than my own at home! The bed had lots of pillows on it, which I like, haha! The bed was firm, so if that's your thing, sleep tight!

The location is perfect. Just off the boulevard so rates are lower, cha-ching! However the Lakeside Beach near is nothing to brag about.

Overall, I would stay here again. I had an enjoyable time!

You cannot beat the price! It's close to all casinos and resturants.

    The owner was extremely friendly.

The room isn't the greatest, but it was clean and somewhat updated.

If you're looking for scenic views, state of the art deco and amenities this isn't for you. For a clean place to shower and sleep it's perfect. I will be booking here again.

We ended up staying here last-minute as a backup to our failed plans back in March - and we were so glad we did! The woman at the front desk is incredibly sweet, and made checking in a painless process.

The rooms are as basic as they get, and we didn't have time to try out the hot tub but that was available as well. No continental breakfast was really the only reason I went down a star (that and the fact that it's about a 2star rated hotel).

Really pleasant stay though! No regrets, and we'll be back for sure.
