Careful friends!!!!!....the hotel is trying to rip me off with a charge for smoking in the room that never happened. I have never been a smoker. I filed a BBB complaint that did not resolve the dispute. I guess I will have to seek for legal advice/action. I am kind of new with yelp and only now I realized that another person had the same problem. Probably the hotel uses this strategy to get extra money out of customers. Before filing the BBB complaint I tried to contact many times the manager to ask for an explanation of the unauthorized charge. I was never able to talk to anybody rather than the front desk and the manager's answering machine. I stayed at the hotel over Christmas and about 20 days later the hotel charged me $250. Nobody ever contacted me for anything. Only through the travel agency I booked the hotel with, I have been told that the hotel charges $250 for smoking in the room, but they never contacted me to accuse me of anything. Also in their BBB reply, they did not specify that I smoked; they just wrote that they charge $250 for cigarette cleaning fees. I had to close my credit card account for fraud activity. For sure I would not suggest you to pick this hotel.

if you want cheesy, tasteless, trailer park chic...this is it!  We stayed a couple of nights for laughs!! Our room had wall to wall red plush carpet, red velvet wallpaper, mirrors on the ceiling and one wall where the headboard is ...and to top it off....a jacuzzi !! Yes, what a treat...wow...okay..I stopped laughing...overall...it was fun...but you have to be aware of what you are getting into..

Our wedding weekend turned into a freak show after staying here. It is cheaply decorated, way over priced (299.00) and in great need of repair. The list is so long, I can't even start it. All I can say is, online photos are no way to judge a place to stay. We will never return or recommend this place to anyone! Service was horrible along with everything else! Yuck!

Horrible service!!! Me and my husband went here for our wedding night and it is defintately an experience. However, we wanted to go again for his birthday with another couple but ended up needing to switch the names on the rooms so that someone could take our place because we were unable at the last minute. Well instead of putting their name on our room they just booked another room. When the couples got there they paid cash (which we told the manager they would do so not to charge our card that was holding the rooms) and our card was charged! I had the run around trying to get my money back and he told me he would not give it back because I was arguing with him! How ridiculous is that?!?! Someone else called on my behalf and chewed him out so we ended up getting our money back. It was back and forth for about two weeks. After reading all the reviews I realize now they just rip people off. I should have read before going in the first place. I know better now...

So i decided to go to LAKE TAHOE on a whim , I get into Tahoe around 11:00 pm and i have no hotel reservations and i see this place called Fantasy Inn so i pop in and get a room. well lets just say that the was one of the best places Ive stayed in for my buck . The room was cool it had a jacuzzi , a stereo , huge bed , mirrors on the ceiling , mirrors on the wall , the shower had to heads and two valves . the room was super clean and very spacious. The place was quiet and very well maintained. The hotel offers about 8 different rooms each room has a theme and goes up in price. I rented the cheapest room , about a 100 dollars and well worth it..The hotel is located rite in the middle of Tahoe blvd so everything is real close . the room service was good and the food wasn't bad. I liked the place so much i stayed another nite and got a different theme/room and it was just as cool if not cooler than the room the nite before and had a bigger jacuzzi. So if your looking for a really cool hotel or even a romantic get away , I highly recommend this pace. And like i said for a 100 dollars room you cant go wrong.

Please don't stay at this hotel. We had a horrible experience dealing with this hotel. We had originally booked a night for New Years Eve. When we entered our room, we saw that the bed sheets were dirty and had stains on it. We called downstairs to the front desk and complained. After spending a long time talking with them, they agreed to a refund. We packed up our belongings and went to a different hotel. They claimed that they gave us a refund. However, when I got my credit card statement in the mail, it looked like they charged us anyway. This place is fishy by all standards. Now, I have to deal with fighting to get my money back.

I read the other reviews. This places loves to charge credit cards. Please don't make the same mistake as us and stay at this hotel.

Well..i always look at things on yelp but i have never actually wrote a review. Usually people who write reviews are always negative about everything and anything they review. A friend told me about fantasy inn and after reading the reviews about peoples credit card getting charged and ect.. i was very iffy. I told a few friends that i was thinking about staying there and they told me how awesome it was. The rooms were not dirty like people were saying and we had an awesome time there. Everything was perfect! The only thing i would say bad is that there was no wi-fi. We stayed in the princess room and we will def. stay there again. I would like to try a themed room next time. The beds are huge and the big tub with jets was a extra plus..the mirrors all over was another plus as well..:) It looked just like the picture.

This hotel engages in a fraudulent practice of charging your credit card $250 smoking fee a month later after your stay. We are still fighting to get this charge reversed and will file a law suit against the management. If you don't want the headache, stay away or don't give them your credit card and NEVER sign the authorization to charge your credit card the smoking fee.

Needless to say we are non smokers...

it's out dated and they need to upgrade tv's, mattress, carpets and  comforters and sheets... we were not happy with the mattress, I did not sleep too well but now we can say we have experienced it, but it will be nicer if updated.

Can you say bow chicka bow wow?  Talk about cheesy and trashy! I felt like I walked into a scene from Boogy Nights.  Gold-framed  mirrors on the walls and ceiling, and what sorta looked like a Roman bath in the middle of the room could shower about six people. And the hot tub -mind this is all in the same room as the bed - is straight from the "I Wanna be a Rock Star" song:
"A king size tub big enough for 10 plus me! "

There are six choices of "fantasy rooms" - this one was supposed to be the Princess.  When we drove past the sign that said "adult accommodations", we should've kept on driving.  And never trust an Inn that's also a wedding chapel. It was a good laugh, but fantasy it wasn't!

My wife and I decided to come to the fantasy in for the remaining two days of our honeymoon. We absolutely fell in love with the place! Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms and an awesome room! We stayed in the queens quarters. My wife loves it lots of pink and heart shaped jacuzzi tub btw I'm 6'5" and wife is 5'10" and we fit perfectly. I would highly reccomend this room for anyone looking for a relaxing time we only left the room one time to walk over to the lake about a 2 min walk to watch the sun set. We would give it a 6/5 if we could!:)

I hate that I even have to give this place one star.  We reserved a room at this hotel months prior to our wedding for our wedding night.  We knew it was going to be old school cheese but we thought corny would be something fun and we reserved the princess suite.  Two days before the wedding, my (now)husband called up to confirm our reservation and said we would be later in the evening since we had an afternoon wedding and was getting married 20 miles south of the lake.
On the day of our wedding, at the exact moment that we were having our ceremony, they left a voicemail asking us if we were still coming that evening.  After the celebration and cleanup, around 8PM, we got the message.  My husband called them right away and they said it was too late, they had given our room away.  They couldn't even offer us another room, as they were completely booked.  When asked what they could do to help us out here, the front desk clerk just said that we could leave a voicemail message for the manager, who was not on duty.  At that point, we were then struggling, on our wedding night, to find a place that was not fully booked.  We ended up stay at the Howard Johnson Inn with a very sweet manager, who took pity on our plight, offering us the best room she had available and giving us vouchers for a free breakfast next door.
Two days after returning home, my husband talked to the Fantasy Inn manager.  He said, they always release reserved rooms at 6PM and they had no record of my husband calling two days prior.  As with the prior conversation with the desk clerk, this was a case of passing on the buck to the mystery desk clerk instead of just taking responsibility and apologizing.  The manager said it was our fault for not leaving a deposit, even though my husband had asked twice if the hotel needed his credit card information when he reserved the room and was told that was not needed.  The manager then responded that they never take cc information because the vast majority of the population doesn't have a credit card.  (?!?!)
My husband asked if he would pay for our hotel room at the Howard Johnson.  The manager said no, but he would offer us a free night at the Fantasy Inn.  When asked how we could redeem this, he replied for us to give him a call when we were next in town.  My husband wants something in writing and the manager refuses.  My husband says that we need something in writing as it was the verbal stuff that got us into trouble in the first place.  The manager then said, "you know what?  Now you get nothing."  And then hung up.
Obviously, this place doesn't care about potential customers or even if they have repeat business.  If they keep this up, I suspect they will not be in business long.
For a wedding that was amazing, I'm lucky this was the only thing that went wrong, but, after all the confirmations, I wasn't expecting there to be any problems.  Thanks Howard Johnson for saving us!

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in the Marie Antoinette suite.  It was amazing!!!!!  The front staff was great, the maid service was great, the room was awesome!!!!

If you're looking for a "fantasy" get away with your spouse or significant other, this is the place to create it.  Mirrors everywhere, jacuzzis for two, fireplace for chilly evenings, and the local bar "Mo's" just two blocks away.

Only two minor issues... when we reserved the room, we asked to have someone renew our vows at the Inn.  We never received a call until two days into our stay, and by that point we had made other plans.  Also, no vents in the bathroom, which can be problematic if you like to drink, eat great food and are staying multiple days.

Otherwise, just a WONDERFUL place to reconnect with your spouse or significant other!!!

Location is great and it has a certain charm to it. The jacuzzi tubs are amazing and the mirrors are fun. I do have to agree with some of the other reviews that the place is due for some serious upgrades. Our bedspread had some holes in it, the sink was cracked and the toilet seat didn't fit right so was sort of uncomfortable. But the place is clean "enough", could be better but not terrible. We'll probably be back one day for the good memories...

This place is exactly what you would expect from it.  It was a lot of fun being in a hotel for the first time with mirrors from floor to ceiling and also one the size of the bed hanging over the bed.  The hot tub in the room really sold us on the hotel.  The dual shower was really nice as well, I just wish it had doors.  After turning on the hot water it steamed up the entire room fogging all the mirrors.  I'm surprised that the smoke detector didn't go off from all of the steam.

We stayed in the Princess suite it was simple, not at all extravagant.  I advise bringing an extra blanket and pillow of your own if you are a germ-a-fob, like some of the other reviews, you know exactly what's going down between the sheets, or any where else in the room for that matter.

We caught a great deal on Hotels.com and that had a better price than if we booked the room ourselves through the hotel.

While a girlfriend getaway weekend at the Fantasy Inn and Wedding Chapel may be considered "off label use," our plans only came together at the last minute, and were attracted to the central South Lake Tahoe location and bargain price.  Plus, the website look hilarious.

CLIENTELE: During our stay, the Rainforest Room and Marie Antoinette Suite  were occupied not only with couples wearing matching "sexy" tee shirts (as if we needed to be told), but also several families with small children, who appeared to be guests at one of the numerous weddings taking place onsite.  We had stopped to purchase tiaras and feather boas on the way up, and among the pine trees, barely legal brides and their attendants' tattoos, our party felt right at home in a basic "Princess Suite."

DÉCOR: Mirrored walls and ceiling, floral and teal/mauve color scheme.  Think Grandma's House meets Porn Set.  While the property specifically hyped its collection of "romantic art," there were some questionable choices (should pictures of children ever be billed as "romantic"?), and it appeared that the installation had been padded with architectural prints from Ikea.

AMENITIES:  Coffee maker and blow dryer in the room. Ice and vending machines on the premises.  Jetted tub and refrigerator, both centrally located at the foot of the King size bed.  The television was suspended from the ceiling on a swivel pole designed for 360° entertainment.
Despite the suggestive inclusion of champagne and flutes in promotional pictures, we had to ask for wine glasses, and the night manager made us BRING OUR WINE TO THE FRONT DESK to open with the Fantasy Inn's one and only corkscrew. Seriously.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:  Because the property was not full, we tried to score an upgrade when we arrived. We were told that even if we paid extra, we could not move into a bigger room because we had booked through Hotels.com .
More importantly, Like the tub, the duel-headed shower is located smack in the middle of the room, presumably for your viewing pleasure. On the website, this is referred to as a "European" shower, but that description may be insulting to Europe - it is really reminiscent a YMCA locker room, complete with strategically placed drains to catch the...water.  A closer inspection of this display revealed a couple of pubic hairs still stuck to a bar of soap, which was mildly traumatizing.

Maid service was declined due to our oversize party and desire to nap at will.  When packing up, we felt kind of guilty about the feathers, popcorn, empty wine bottles and magazine inserts littering the room, but then thought about the pubic hair and decided we were probably even.
Overall, two stars.

This place is straight hilarious. It's not the Ritz, so bring flip flops and for Christ's sake don't sit on the bedspread (blech)!  The mirrors EVERYWHERE, the big daddy tub and the closed circuit porn... come on people. It's an experience for real. Stay there once, but don't expect down comforters and travertine. This place is for action only.

We stayed in the Antony and Cleo room; we spent the first hour laughing our asses off at just about everything. After getting shit faced and losing our asses at the Casinos, there's nothing better than soaking in a tub listening to a symphony of CC porn and furniture knocking in the next room. The second best thing about staying there was trying to avoid eye contact with the people next door.  Especially when the guy came out in a half opened robe in 20 degree weather... apparently it was SUPER cold outside.

We talk about that trip all the time - memorable and dirty fun!

My boyfriend and I were looking at places in Lake Tahoe and suddenly this place came up.  Overwhelmed by the awesome cheese factor of a bonafied American LOVE HOTEL (and the $69/night deal on Expedia) we just HAD to book a room.

It was only afterwards that we started reading some of the reviews floating around online.  Apparently, this place is WAY shady and several people have been ripped off.  They have a BBB bureau rating of "F".  Some of the other reviews made the rooms also sound really dirty and gross.  We were terrified.

Honestly, it wasn't so bad.  It's advertised as an ADULT ACCOMMODATIONS hotel, and that is exactly what it is.  Sure, their interior decorating was a little outdated, but it doesn't look quite as horrible as the photos on their website.  I actually walked into their Elvis theme room while we were checking out and it was mindblowingly kitchy-awesome with a guitar-shaped coffee table, heart-shaped jacuzzi, and a bronze bust of Elvis.  There was a lot of attention to detail.

Having a jacuzzi in the living room was A LOT of fun, and the twin showerheads were a pretty nice feature.  We brought our own bath supplies like bubble bath and bath bombs and I think we had a 4 hour bath while watching Amelie.  They have lights that you can turn up and down, and you can watch TV anywhere in the room including the tub.  They even had free Bear Naked granola waiting for us.

Their bed was really springy, which is good for adult stuff but not the best for sleeping.  The pillows were terrifying.  And the linens were so old they were balling.  It was kinda like sleeping in the spare bedroom of an old relative, if your old relative had a lot of sex.  I wasn't feeling the mirrors on the ceiling and all over the place, but it's kinda kinky if that's your thing.  Also, the entire place didn't have internet.

For what we paid on a weekend, it was still a great value to have a huge bed and a fun in-room jacuzzi.  It wouldn't have been worth it if we paid full price ($259) though.  My advice is to enter at your own risk, find a good deal online, and bring supplies (bath stuff, movie stuff, sex stuff?) and your own pillows.  If you're open-minded about it (and report your credit card stolen after you check out) you can have a lot of fun there.

This hotel is gross! It needs serious updating & cleaning! Not worth the money!!! We have stayed twice in nine years & both experiences were not pleasant. The latest time was in january 2013. Our room wasn't completely clean upon checkin, housekeeping had to come back & finish cleaning the bathroom after we were already in! My husband pre ordered roses for our arrival. he spent $50 on them & they were awful!! Looked nothing like the pictures! All they did was put roses in a vase... No greenery, no baby's breath, & no bow! Rip off! Not to mention they didn't get into the room until 2 hours after we checked in!!  Ridiculous!
We emailed the owner after our stay to tell them we were unhappy and no one ever emailed us back!  Thats awesome customer service! This place sucks! Don't waste your money! Go get a suite at a nice hotel... Will be much more worth it!
Rating it at one star is being nice & is more than it deserves'!!!!

Folks, look. This is a SEX HOTEL. Much like many other hotels. You think that bed you stay in at your precious Four Seasons hasn't been a part of more than its fair share of boot knockin? You think people at the Ritz are only having missionary sex with 3 towels down and no lube? I think it's safe to say that every single hotel room on the face of the planet has been sexed in in the wildest, nastiest possible ways. This place just kind of makes it known that it enjoys sex and isn't afraid to let you know! It's a liberated 90's woman you guys. You prudes are all acting high and mighty like it isn't as awesome as it is because liking it either makes you a a) slut b) white trash slut or c) all of the above. This is on some level true, as the hotel has an extremely high cheesiness factor. I am only rating it so high not because it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in but because it was better than I expected and awesome FOR WHAT IT IS.

We booked a royal spa room and ended up in the ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HILARIOUS western room. Everything was fine and clean when we walked in. There were adorably stupid horse-covered bedsheets which we immediately ripped off the bed and replaced with our own sheets and pillows. If you are freaked out about cleanliness of this or any other hotel, just bring your own shit. I did because I am too classy for this kind of place. I never said I wasn't freaked out by this place, ok? We all know what we are getting into when we stay here (except for that one chick who had apparently no clue that the FANTASY INN was a SLEAZE SHACK bitch get it together! You're an ADULT there are no excuses for that!).

There was, of course, the main attraction---the giant spa tub in the room. This thing could have been deeper but it's not a sauna it's a spa TUB. Which just means it is slightly less easy to have sex in than a regular sauna. But it can and will be done. The western room also came with an actual, working saddle (I wouldn't recommend trying to incorporate this into whatever kind of sex you plan on having here because I'd imagine a lot of naked stripper asses have rubbed against it). There were 2 old rocking chairs that face the bed so ghosts can watch you sleep. That was not sexy.

In sum, if you want to go then just do it, it's not like this place caters to only trolls and HIV carriers to the exclusion of all others so quit acting like Daddy's Lil' Princess would NEVER go to a place like this oh my! Also didn't have any problems with the front desk people--sure they could have been friendlier but you'd be a dick too if all of your customers were sex-addicted lepers. CONTRADICTORY, LAUREN.

Booked this place for a weekend getaway with my fiance for what we hoped was going to be a somewhat higher class sex hotel.  We were sorely disappointed, however.  We booked the Antony and Cleopatra room online, but it definitely did not look like the website portrayed.

The Cons: The 2 towels in the room were mismatched and about as soft as sandpaper.  The exhaust fans didn't work, so after about 30 minutes of playing in the walk-in shower, the entire room was like the inside of a greenhouse.  When I went to open the window to let in some fresh air, I discovered that the screen was ripped and the frame was broken.  I barely had time to catch the screen before it fell to the ground.  The jets in the whirlpool tub didn't all work correctly.  THERE IS NO INTERNET WHATSOEVER!!!  When I inquired with the front desk about internet access, I was informed to go across the street to McDonald's.  Effin' ridiculous, right?  The staff was rude and not very helpful.  All in all, a terrible place to stay.

The Pros: the 7' whirlpool tub.  The tub is the only reason they got 1 star from me.  It was very roomy.  When I complained to the front desk about how crappy the hotel was, they discounted my room rate by 50%.  I actually wanted to be refunded the entire amount and go across the street to the Tahoe Vacation Resort, but since they don't do refunds we stayed the night with the discount.

Bottom line, don't stay here unless you get a REALLY good deal.  If you pay over $70, then you paid too much.  Terrible place.

My BF and I went to lake tahoe and decided to stay there because their rooms were on 48 hours sale on hotels.com . I reserved a room through hotels.com . Then, I went to check their website and realized that they have different themes. The tropical tree house looks really ugly in the photo, so I called them up to reserve other themes.

The person who answered the phone found my reservation and put the room I requested under my name. I was pretty happy then.

HOWEVER, when we got there, we were put in the tropical tree house theme, which was really ugly. I think it's even uglier than the picture. The bed sheet was old and worn out. The jacuzzi was much smaller than shown on their website. There is NO real separation between the shower and the bed. We were really upset with this room and immediately ran to the front desk. We need to switch room. What the heck happened to the room that I requested?

Their response was "we cannot do anything. we are fully booked. The person whom you talked to on the phone cannot reserve a specific room for you."

Darn it. I paid $100 to stay for a night in the room that I disgust. I'll never go back there.

My husband and I stayed in the Caesar's Indulgence room and had nothing but a good experience. The bed was very comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was HUGE. Stayed here three times. Each time was a bit worse for wear. My wife and I understand what this place is all about, it would just be nice for them to have updated it or renovated stuff since our first time staying in 2005. Last trip was in early 2011.

The sales are nice, but the next trip we go we will probably just look for a decent spa room in a different hotel. If management reads this, please renovate/remodel/upgrade.

With images of heart shaped bath tubs and tarzan ropes fluttering through our heads... we decided to put our hygienic concerns aside and give the Fantasy Inn a shot. For $60 it was a deal (maybe it was this cheap because we didn't check in until 2 am?), and we thought it would be funny - funny it was.

We were placed in the Princess room which, to be honest, was disappointingly understated theme wise. The room, however, was the epitome of the tacky 70's romp room - I could definitely feel the Boogie Nights vibe Deanna S. mentioned - complete with pink two person Jacuzzi tub, attached open shower, full wall and ceiling mirrors, and a ceiling mounted tv and vcr for your adult viewing pleasure.

Sure, I was deathly afraid of the linens, but sometimes you have to summon the brave germ defying soul deep within yourself in the name of hilarity and memories you will never forget. With that being said, I do not know that I would stay here a second time (I have the memory, time to move on) but I would recommend it to couples with a sense of humor looking for Tahoe shelter on the cheap.

My husband and I have stayed here a couple of times.  The staff friendly and helpful.  High speed wireless internet. Rooms are always interesting in style.  They may be a bit dated but they must keep with the period or the theme.  TV's are old, but worked fine.  The in room large spa was great and the dual head shower was great. Plenty of mirrors.  The name fits, its Fantasy Inn because it is not my home.

I love this hotel. It's a sex hotel. It's sleaze fest. Skantastic.

It's the Fantasy Inn & Wedding Chapel and I could not be more serious about my admiration.

I want to stay in each of the different themed rooms and check out all of their Jacuzzi's.

I'm excited for our next Tahoe trip just to stay here again!

Ok....its cool that every room has a theme.  However the wifi is terrible and the rooms do need a serious upgrade. The Tv actually crackles and hums! We got the Romeo and Juliet room which had an amaaaaazing tub...but the rest was bland. We did enjoy the built in stereo system and mirrors!

The grounds need a lot of work...the pond is scummy and the side yard needs work.  Invest in a pool and hot tub, fix the wifi and at least offer pastries, fruit and juice in the morning. Its in a great location so fix it up!

I stayed in the Rainforest room for my first wedding anniversary. The pictures on the internet were too good to believe and though I knew it wouldn't be so amazing when we actually see the room, I was still surprised. It was pretty average looking and the theme of the rainforest was not that apparent. The one thing that makes me give 3 stars for this hotel was the in room spa. No complaints here. We absolutely loved this.

For the price we paid, it was shocking to realize they lacked some basic stuff like wireless connection, widescreen tv, bathroom mats etc. The stereo set and speaker system was pretty good.

Okay so I couldn't really rate this hotel because it's not the kind of place I like to stay but some might like it. I, unfortunately, didn't know what to expect. I saw Fantasy and thought of Disney. Lol! I couldn't be more wrong! But the price was good so whatever.

Long story short: lots of mirrors; shower is not private; hot tub included, tv hangs from ceiling

Wife and me got married here and the wedding coordinator was awesome and the wedding it self I was very satisfied and happy with the only thing that made me give this place 3 stars is there rooms are too run down the place needs a major remodeling, the pictures of the rooms look very good on the website but when you actually step in is not quite what you where expecting.

Well...you cannot beat the price! I have stayed here on several occasions and I would have to recommend a room on the top floor. If you stay on the 1st floor, especially near a staircase or entrance you will hear everything, drunk people staggering in, use of the vending machine ect ect. The staff is always very nice and quick to attend to the guests' needs. The place is a little outdated and is in need of major upgrades like new televisions and decor.  However, there are fun themed rooms and mirrors everywhere within the rooms, including on the ceiling and surrounding the great big spa tub, making for any visit an interesting one. :-D

My bf and I booked the room initially because of the location and price. Taxi ride is $10 from room to casino and the pricing of the room was great compared to other places. Was not sure what to expect after reading some former reviews however we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Are room had all the essentials we wanted. A fridge, a vanity set mirror to get ready, tv and my favorite was the big hot tub in our room! I love taking baths. The showers were surprising because they are open, so no privacy which was fine for us. The bed was big and comfy. Everything looked clean and they gave us a basket full of complimentary snacks, waters and juices which was a nice touch. The rooms were outdated and looked old but I think most of the small places around South Lake Tahoe are like that and I expected that. I think for the price, the fun ambiance, the location and the price they offer you can't beat it. We will be coming back soon!

Such a cute/awesome hotel. Stayed in the sultan's tent. When I read the reviews I thought the hotel might be a little dirty (cause duh, adult accommodations) but I was pleasantly surprised at how clean our room was. No weird odors and the bed looked very clean with nice sheets! Very funny and nice hotel guy. The mirrors were a little dizzy at first and made my bf want to start working out and get into shape, which is awesome me. They had a big complimentary basket full of water, apple juice, muffins and power bars for all the action haha! We will definitely be staying here for all of our future trips. I would recommend this place to everyone who has a sense of humor and wants to have fun!

I agree with Paula.....Fun, Fun, Fun!   If you are going to stay in South Lake Tahoe with your lover, check out the Cleopatra room.  Best money ever spent on a hotel.
Besides, if your going to get away for the weekend have some fun with it, check out this hotel before you decide where to stay.  The place is clean, quiet, & in a perfect location =)

Hmm. I have to say, not exactly my type of place. The bf and I drove by a few times, and I always made jokes about it, but as always ... curiosity kills the cat.

Why.

I still ask myself this question to this day. Of course, it was a sale, of course it was cheap, but once you walk inside you will know why it was cheap. It was cheap and is cheap because everything inside is icky. Reminds me of staying in the middle of nowhere I5 just to have a place to sleep at night. It might even be worse than that. The carpets are dark, that's always an interesting sign. The mirrors... I think they scared me more than anything. Floor to ceiling. You can get real creeped out if you get up to go to the bathroom at night.

Shudder. Yes, intrigue, no, don't bother.

This was one of the best hotel finds! At first I was a little skeptical of the place, but the hotel ended up being exactly as advertised. The hot tub and showers were amazing and the service was prompt and excellent. I recommend Fantasy Inn for any couple that is looking for a romantic getaway!

I loved it here, and I can't wait to come back! My husband and I enjoyed every moment in our room, and we are glad we came the evening we were married. These are adult themed rooms, so I am not sure why there are negative reviews, but we had the time of our lives! We could only afford a weekend getaway after being married, so I took a chance booking this hotel after reading the reviews, and I am so happy that I did. For the negative reviewers, know the hotel you are booking before you book. Also, getting/staying in touch with your naughty side "ain't never hurt nobody." Happy yelping!

The Fantasy Inn...oh what comes to mind...The Romeo and Juliet Suite...

A giggle fest....a  night full of overwhelming giggles that reminded us how much we love each other. Neither of us would be horribly surprised to find out this room was the set of some adult films from the 70's...from the mirrored ceilings to the round alcove that housed a square bed...this was pure shagadelic lol. There must have been a round bed in the alcove at one point; but its been replaced by a modern rectangle bed. However, the management has not filled in the space at the top of the bed and your pillows slide onto the floor all night long.

The gas fire place lights up with the flick of a switch that is mounted on the wall and I liked it quite a bit....Hubby on the other hand began to sweat profusely which led to another bout of giggling.

The star of the room must be the built in spa...which in the pictures looks great...however it is so noisy and there is this loud sucking sound coming from the intake values that is really hard to get over. We tried just about everything to get that noise to stop and yes, many a horrible joke was told.

The Suite itself was rather dated and very "cheesy" motel looking...right down to the shag mauve carpet and the stiff blue couches that I decided probably should not be sat on. The number of fake plants in the room was a bit disturbing  and dusty.

The room is called the Romeo and Juliet Suite and there is a picture painted behind the spa of two young lovers in an embrace...however its peeling quite badly...though maybe that is an attempt at making the room look period.

Over all it ran $214 a night with tax and was worth every penny if your looking for a cheesy, laughable experience.

Grosse. This place is made for lovemaking which is fine if you are getting married- but it is sooooo cheeeesyyy and the walls and ceilings are covered in mirrors so you can watch yourself while you do it. If you are into cheesy and borderline raunchy- then go here. I was not vibing with it . They guy at the front desk was cool but thats about it. Not to mention all I could hear was someone upstairs having jackrabbit sex all night and it made me cringe and feel very not in the mood to make love to my partner. Just saying, Id go somewhere classier on my wedding night or next time i go to tahoe for sure.

This place had the worst customer service, I made a reservation to stay one night for my friends wedding was at 4 pm. They couldn't accommodate us to have our room a Lil longer so we could get ready. So basically they kicked us out right before the wedding. I couldn't stay another night due to work early the next morning. Fuck this place wouldn't have stayed if I knew they couldn't accommodate us. After the lady I talked to on the phone said it would be alright. Don't recommend this place to anyone.

Husband and I stayed here over this past Memorial Day weekend abs I have to say we had a great time!  We stayed in the Anthony and cleopatra suite and we loved it. The rooms where spacious,  the beds where comfortable,  and the shower and hot tub where what sealed the deal for us.  But what really stood out was the customer service.  Every person we encountered was eager to help and be as hospitable as possible.  If you are looking to get away for a relaxing weekend without the kids and want somewhere unique,  check this place out,  they will take care of you!

My boyfriend and I went here Easter weekend for a romantic/anniversary getaway. It was beautiful and very romantic! There were mirrors ALL over the room. If you're self conscious, it takes some getting used to lol.The only negative thing we would have to say is they have very outdated TVs and we were unable to hook up a DVD player to the TV. The front desk clerk (whose name I can't remember of course) was very helpful trying to get the DVD player hooked up. He gets an A+ for effort! But that would not stop us from going back. We had a European shower and a jacuzzi tub at the foot of our bed. The TV was programmed to play music throughout the room which was very cool and romantic. We could also move the TV around to be able to watch it in the jacuzzi tub. We will definitely go back!!! Definitely romantic!!!!!!! Not far from the lake at all, maybe a block or so. I would recommend going here for an anniversary/honeymoon. Next time we go though we will be going in winter since we both love snow. We all know we had a very dry winter so there was hardly any snow and the weather was nice.

I was a bit cautious after reading this hotel's reviews but my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here! I think most of the reviews are from the far past so hotel needs to work on encouraging new guests to post. Front desk was friendly and efficient.

When we first walked in our theme room, we were greeted by music from a local station playing current alternative rock and pop and a small welcome snack basket w water, juices, bars, and fresh soft muffins. Everything looked clean including carpets.

We booked the Roman Room which was cutely decorated w a colorful Roman painting by the hot tub and pillars around the room. The room was spacious enough with a small living area in front of the bed w a fireplace, couch and coffee table. The TV is a flat screen with good cable channels and there is a small fridge. The mirrors are great! One large mirror above the bed and several different mirrors to sides and behind bed for late night fun.  Bed is large, but a bit too soft for sleep. Good bounce for when you're "not sleeping". Lights above bed can be dimmed for mood.

Hot tub is to the right of the bed and large. Takes awhile to fill though and is noisy. We brought our own bubble bath. Room gets hot but good working AC. Showers are not private (open area by hot tub) and has 2 heads. One has light pressure and the other has strong pressure. Water takes a while to heat up and flows to the hot tub. Bathroom is a bit tiny near the front door but at least that area is private =) No sink inside though. Sink is part of the small open vanity section at the other side of hot tub.

There is a small vending machine and clean microwave in hall for use if needed. Did not need ice so don't know where the ice machine is.

Pricing was decent and location is great! Beach and marina is a short walk away. There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Casinos are a very short drive away.

Only negative side is that the rooms are not noise proof especially on bottom floor. I woke up to the people above us turning on the water and walking around. Also, a firmer bed would be better for backs (for those that actually sleep :D )

I will definitely be recommending this inn to my friends for a couples getaway and hope to be back to check out some other theme rooms.

They also have a small outdoor wedding area which I took a peak at when walking by. Looked simple but cute.

Fabulous location! Comfy beds and a huge jacuzzi tub also made this a memorable stay. I liked the fact that we were less than a mile from the casinos and right across the street from the beach! We went parasailing and rented jet skis and only had to walk back across the street to grab a soak in the hot tub and get ready for dinner. WELL WORTH the price of admission! I highly recommend.

I slept so fantastic.. the bed was super comfortable! We talked about going back again the next time we are in Tahoe.. we REALLY loved our stay!

We love staying in these type hotels but they really need to invest some money into it.  Ok, your staying in a hotel called fantasy with themed rooms and they dont even have a way to rent movies from them nor do they have dvd players in the rooms....really? Lacking in several ways given the room costs.  They must think people stay alone in the rooms as we only had one towel, one water and could not locate maid service to request additional towels.  The air conditioner and blow dryer didn't work and when we called the front desk were told to turn it off for 15 minutes then on again.  We were on a time schedule so had to leave and had a very hot room all night.  When we told them at check out the girl just said thanks for letting us know.  No apology...nothing.  We definitely will not be returning.

Great place for couples. You need to like mirrors, there were mirrors everywhere. No kids running up and down the halls. The hot tub was enjoyable for two and the complementary breakfast basket was much nicer than some complementary breakfasts offered at other places. There isn't an elevator to the second floor, not a problem for us but some might need that info before booking. Free parking and a small nice walk to the shopping and casinos where parking can be an issue especially on a summer weekend. The  radio is hooked up to surround sound speakers was a real nice touch. Will definitely be returning when back in the area.

If you're looking for a pure, romantic venue to help amplify your innermost emotions for your soulmate, you might leave disappointed.

However: if you're looking for a thematic place to sit in a hot tub, and when you inevitably have that thought of "Fuck, I wish I had some gum" and you want to peek in your complimentary snack basket and have gum? This is your motherfucking jam.

What a fun night my wife and I had at this hotel!  I had to actually talk my wife into giving this hotel a chance.  She wanted to stay and a more well known larger hotel.  She gave this hotel a chance and now cannot wait to go back!

We stayed in the Sultan's Tent room.  It was decorated just as you imagine a Sultan's tent to be but without the sand.  There was s nice gift basket left in the room and it was great to wake up the next morning and have muffins and orange juice.

There were a few things I would recommend they update.  One would be the TV.  Very old style tv that takes up a bit more space in the room than it should.  However, staying in room like this, your not there to watch TV!  The AC/Heater unit is very old and outdated.  It froze up at night but thankfully the fan still worked and we were fine.

The real only negative outside of the outdated items would be the vending machine.  We had the late night munchies and we called down to the front desk to ask if they had snack items available for sell like most hotels do.  They informed us that they indeed had a vending machine with food items.  We walk down the hall only to find 3 items in a very empty machine.  Pack of gum and a few trail mix packs.  We ended up laughing at it as that is all you can do.

Overall we can not wait to go back when we have more than just one night to spend!

We stayed at the Fantasy Inn last weekend and loved it! Scott at the front desk recommended a lakefront restaurant across the street called Riva Grill so we started our relaxing journey with a wet woodie (Riva's version of a frozen mai tai) and a wood fired pizza at happy hour. We watched the sunset on the lake then returned to our room for some down time. We LOVED the jacuzzi hot tub in our room! We could watch TV while we had a soak and a glass of wine. My fiance and I stayed 2 nights here in a "princess" room. We had come to visit Lake Tahoe and get away from our busy daily routine in Southern California  After the 8 hour drive, that bed felt like we were resting on clouds.  The mirrors around the bed and tub added a touch of fun and adventure to our stay. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the room wasn't as cheesy as i had expected from a theme room. The entire room was clean and fresh. The property is undergoing some renovations to make the building more handicap accessible by these renovations did not interrupt our relaxation. The staff was so friendly and helpful.  It is a great little hotel and at a great value. Definitely a place for a couple to get away for a weekend.

I had low expectations for this place due to the reviews but it actually turned out pretty nice. We chose to stay in the Anthony & Cleopatra room, which I didn't find tacky at all. The chair cushions and carpet are cheetah print but it's not really in-your-face. At one point during our stay, I accidentally touched the carpet with my bare feet for a second (gross, I know). It felt super soft so if you plan on utilizing the floor for anything other than walking, it would probably be decently comfy.

When we checked in, they gave us cookies from a pink box (like the kind you put donuts in). There was no label and we weren't told what bakery it was from but they were sooo yummy. I also loved that they provided a welcome basket and had the radio on for us.

Another great thing about Fantasy Inn is that it is a non-smoking inn. Signs on the back of the door say that you will be charged a $250 service fee if you use any type of "smoking materials, incense or tobacco products".

Other things I liked:
- wedding area is pretty (much nicer than expected)
- bottle opener mounted on the wall next to the blow dryer
- close proximity to multiple chain restaurants, Raleys and Ski Run Marina (boat, jetski, etc rentals plus a small beach area)
- pretty comfortable bed
- cute bottles for bath products
- provided a body bar
- Cuisinart single serve coffee maker

Disliked:
- the exhaust fan didn't work so we had to keep the windows open
- the jets for our jacuzzi didn't work, kind of disappointing when you're looking forward to it
- the hallways are kind of creepy (large portraits and creepy green lamps)
- free coffee was bland

Overall, both my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay.

Otherwise location and everything else was great. 25 min walk to casino district.

Love this place. Classy and elegant rooms. We love the rain-forest and princess rooms. Prices have dropped a lot in recent years. On our wedding night in 2008 we paid close to $400...now they have specials for $150 or so, which is much more reasonable. The rooms are older, there is no wifi or breakfast, so $400 isn't worth it, but $150 is!

We stayed here the weekend of 3/21/15. First, we were overcharged by $88.60 for our stay. Then on the day I checked out, the lady at the front desk, charged my card $89.60. No reason, just decided to add a charge to my card. When I arrived home, I logged on to my bank account, and noticed the charge. I called and spoke to Richie, who looked up my information, and found the charge. He also found the overcharge for the room. Richie assured me that he had reversed the overcharge, and also reversed the erroneous $89.60 charge levied at checkout. After a few hours I logged back on to my bank account, only to find that The only thing Richie did, was run my card again for an additional $89.60. I immediately called back, and was given a thousand apologies, and was told, all would be made right by midnight/morning. Morning came, and nothing was made right. I sent an email to the general manager, explaining how unacceptable this was, and when I got no response, I sent another email. 3 days have gone by, and no response from Fantasy Inn. Do not trust these people with your credit card. Mine was a debit, so this money came out of my checking account. What they did is criminal. Nobody had permission to run my card again, I never signed a receipt, nothing. It's very insulting that they refuse to acknowledge my emails. They will steal your money here!
We stayed in a newly remodeled room, that had a leak in the hot tub, and completely drenched the carpet. I mentioned this to the front desk twice. The maintenance guy did bring me extra towels to sop it up, and we tried to enjoy our stay anyway, as they were having a wedding and were sold out. Save yourself the hassle of soaked carpet, and being robbed by the staff here. Mont Bleu has hot tubs in their rooms too, and won't steal from you!

My girlfriend and I had stayed here a year ago and had a fantastic time. We had planned to do the same this year. So I set up the reservation on their website. I ended up having to reschedule the date so I cancelled it and set up the new reservation. I received the verifying emails for both the cancel and the reservations and called a day or two later to verify that is was in their system, which it was.

When we drove 5 hours to get there a few weeks later, they said the new reservation I had made and verified had been canceled. I told the man behind the counter, Richie, that I had not received a cancellation notice, which he said they do not give. I responded by showing him the reservation emails and the one cancellation email I had received which he looked over and only said " there is nothing i can do, we are booked". No looking into what happened, no attempt to rectify the situation, no  attempt to help us find another place, not even a sorry for loosing your reservation and putting you in this predicament. He was rude, unhelpful, and unsympathetic.

We loved our first visit and planned to come back every year, but after how poorly we were treated for them losing our reservation we are done with this place. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who screwed up my reservation in my life.

Also can't forget those mirrors that sit alongside the bed and Jacuzzi/shower area. Sidenote: Jacuzzi and shower are connected next to each other with no doors; Very adventurous indeed! Not to mention they had Bath & Body Works shampoo/conditioner which I let out a little scream when I found them xD I felt right at home ! Def my fave! Only downside I can think of is that the toilet kept getting clogged, but front desk gave us plunger which was helpful LOL just keeping it real!!..Staff was pleasant and welcoming, we ended up staying an extra night for the fun of it!

I loved that the location of it was smack dabbed in the middle of restaurants, (try THE RED HUT INN FOR BFAST!) bout 5 min walk from hotel... also it's across the way from the lake and just about a couple of miles down from the heavenly village shopping center. Which was fun to roam around due to all the shops and restaurants.(TRY THE FIRE AND ICE GRILL!)

I'd deff recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something different than your average hotel in the Tahoe area. It's exciting, affordable, FUN and just darn right relaxing to spend your vacay time...esp with your significant other!
