This crafty little motel I found on short notice. The location was great close to the strip and stateline of nevada where all the action happens near the casinos. However, I wouldn't stay longer than a night, is all I could tolerate. The most laughable was the "continental breakfast" consisting of a pitcher of OJ from the concentrate tube and a small platter of donuts. I guess the interpretation of a continental breakfast varies from each establishment. Fairly priced room for a place to stay for night, no bells no whistles, a room with a bed.

Cheap but not worth it.  Smells like an old smoke-filled bar that has been cleaned with pinesol.  The shower leaks everywhere, leaving the bathroom covered in mildew.  One of the double beds was broken and sunk on one side.  And the heater only sometimes worked which sucks in a place like tahoe.  As far as I can tell this place hasn't seen anything new since the 80's, except for the big TV and the new card lock on the door.  One star for amazingly enough having free wireless internet at a decent speed.

As others have noted, you get what you pay for at the Green Lantern Inn. A couple of buddies and I went skiing this weekend, and the GL Inn was a quick walk from the Heavenly gondola. The room was clean and comfortable, the two double beds were both sleepable, and the bathroom was passable. Ask for more towels--you'll need them. The spa was an excellent touch after a long day, and the wifi was remarkably quick. Easy walk to restaurants, beaches and casinos. All in all, not too bad.

DO NOT GO HERE unless you're taking a cheap hooker.

My boyfriend insisted on booking this place for our trip to Tahoe after viewing the place on Hotels.com .  He thought it looked "quaint."  So we reserved three nights & ended up leaving within an hour of checking in even though we couldn't get a refund.  Since then, he's been forbidden from choosing hotels for vacations.

Alert!  Don't stay here.  "Just ok" at best and since there are plenty of options in the area, I would recommend finding another place.  If you do make the choice to stay, two things: don't stay in the winter and don't mistakenly leave anything behind.  The heating system is very poor and they will take valuables left behind.  Basically, I lost  $400.  The continental breakfast is the worst as they put out the minimum just to make the claim on their website. Another quick point, in order for the WiFi to work, ask for a room closer to the router proximity.  Otherwise, it's super slow.

I will never come here again.  Go somewhere else as there are plenty of other places to choose from.

3 Stars.... It was Just Ok.

Bed was clean and Comfy. Shower was small. Water leaked out the side of the shower stall. Sink didnt have enough water pressure until I opened the cold water valve more! Then it worked fine. WIFI internet was fast!

    I would stay here again.

I shelled out $206.66 for a two-night stay (2 rooms with 2 double beds each) at the GL Motel this weekend for a weekend skiing excursion with 6 others.

This place is totally livable.  You can stay here and make it through the night.  I know because I did.

BUT, if you have "classy" taste, this probably isn't the establishment for you.  Try the Marriott Royal Residence (or whatever it's called) right at the base of the Heavenly Gondola.

The stand-up shower stall was...small.  Ever seen the movie Elf with Will Ferrell?  The part where he's squished into that little shower while he's at the North Pole before he makes the journey into New York City via the Lollypop Forest and Lincoln Tunnel?  That's what the shower stall at this lodge-y establishment was akin to.  I should also mention that the floor in the bathroom area was grungy and I felt like I needed to be wearing rubber sandals in there, so I put on my shoes every time I had to pee.  I did NOT shower at the GL Motel.  I showered Friday night before I left for South Lake Tahoe, and took a shower on Saturday evening after skiing and hot tubbing.

The GL Motel only provided 2 bath towels.  YEAH.  Say what?!  Yes.  They supplied 2 bath towels for a two-bed room!  Did it occur to them that maybe there's a chance that 2 couples would stay in that room, and therefore FOUR towels would be needed?!  Apparently not, because we got 2 bath towels.  Luckily, I didn't shower there!

Would I stay at the GL Motel again?  Probably.  It was decently priced, when split 7-ways, and it was thisclose to the Gondola.

I went with my coworkers to stay at this motel. We got the 5 bedroom, 3 bath in the back of the motel. There's enough parking and the location is very close to the casinos and Heavenly ski resort.

Some not so good things about our stay was that there were ants in our bathroom and kitchen. I also thought it was strange that our king bed had a full bed head board. It's fine if you just want a place to sleep, but it's not very comfortable.

I admit, it's difficult to review a motel because I rarely stay in motels. You get what you pay for, I guess.

I must admit I was a bit worried after I read some of the online reviews of the Green Lantern Hotel, but my friend booked us anyway. I am glad he did. The woman who owns the place was very helpful. I bothered her many times about where to eat, discount lift tickets, how to log onto the wireless internet, etc. Violet was always there and able to help us. She was always friendly no matter how many times I bugged her. She even printed out some discount lift tickets coupons for us. Breakfast was always ready for as promised each morning.

The location is great. We walked to dinner at Harrahs. The gondola to Heavenly Valley is nearby, too.

The room was fine. It was clean and everything worked. True, it is not a 5 star hotel. I would not book the visiting Queen of England in it. But, I came to Tahoe to ski, not to spend a lot of time in my hotel room. My friend and I thought we got good value for our money and I would stay there again.

I was originally going to give a three star rating.  The thing that changed my mind was the cracked floor in the shower and the spray from the broken shower head.  In addition, the carpet is badly stained and the telephone  is simply gross.  Yes it is a cheap place to stay.  But lack of repair and cleanliness puts this room down to a two.

Honestly, you get what you pay for. If you want to have a central location amidst the various activities of South Lake Tahoe at an affordable rate, this place is decent. South Lake Tahoe is a place where you hardly hang out in your hotel/motel/inn room. With that being said, go ahead and stay here. Might as well, since you're only going to be in the room for sleeping and freshening up.

Note: our room had a particular smell to it. I don't know how to put words to it, other than weird and different. You'll get used to it when you're in the room for a while but just know that you'll be reminded of it every time you re-enter the room.

    Happy travels!

You know, it was better than I expected.

I mean, yeah I placed my jacket on the bed before sitting on it, and it was a little tedious that the sink knob broke off and dripped the whole time, and the bedsheets look like they havent been washed in ages, but you get what you pay for.

And after coming home drunk after a wedding, I found that stuff didnt matter anyhows. What mattered was that it was close to our destination and it was cheap. It's within walking distance to the casinos and surrounded by good eats and shops. Oh, an extra star for letting us have access to the beach behind the hotels!

This place is definitely not a 5-star hotel, but it has a great location and is a comfortable place to rest your head at the end of a long day of skiing and/or partying. The location is great, and only a short walk from the casinos and the Heavenly Gondola.  The room was clean and everything worked as it was supposed to.  If you plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel room, this probably isn't the place for you, but you shouldn't be wasting a lot of time in your hotel room if you are visiting a place like Lake Tahoe anyway.

The only downsides I could see were that the free WiFi was basically useless, and there was a lot of noise coming from the room upstairs.  Other than that, no complaints.  I would stay here again.

You get what you pay for. If you're on a budget and don't care about cleanliness, then it's the place for you. The location is great, minutes from the casinos and the front desk staff is friendly, but that's about all it has going for it. The complex is ancient and falling apart. The room smelled of mold, the bathroom sink and counter were not clean and I don't think the carpet had ever been cleaned. Good if you're a student on a budget, but we'll be staying somewhere else next time.

If your broke/on a budget, this place will work and has a good location. Good for a guys ski weekend, but not a place if you bring your girlfriend. If you have someone in your party who is picky about cleanliness, this probably isn't the place for you.

My fiance and I stayed here for a night recently, and for the price and location, the room was just fine. I'm giving Green Lantern five stars because of their awesome, honest staff: we were several miles out of town when we realized we'd left a $100 bill in the room. We called, panicking, and the office manager was very understanding - he went into the room himself, found the bill, and refunded us the $100. Five stars for convenience, value, and noteworthy integrity - thank you!

It's a livable place. However, I think this place would work only if you're on a budget trip. I honestly was, so I took the risk to make a reservation here via Hotels.com . I paid $45 for one night, and when I got there, my initial impression was "meh." I mean, the room was clean enough, but the interior was just so.... tacky. The bedsheet was so old-fashioned, the furnitures there were wearing out, the bathroom was just so empty, and the carpet was old. The continental breakfast was really simple: muffins, cereals, coffee, that was it. So, if you want to treat yourself a little better, try Harrah's. It was about $40 extra, but I feel like if you can manage it, it would be worth the price.

Honestly, even for $49 a night I wouldn't ever bother to come back here. The room was terrible overall. The bed was covered in crumbs when we arrived, and the entire room was dingy and not clean. The scuff marks on the walls and water damage to the ceiling all made the room feel gross. The shower shot a spray so fine and hard that it was painful to even try to shower, even if you wanted to brave the moldy grout to get into the tiny cubicle. Every door in the place barely worked, the most interesting of which was the shower door which you had to kick hard to open. The staff was pretty unhelpful overall as well. When we called to request an iron, they made us come to the front desk to check it out rather than bringing it to our room.

Overall, quite literally the worst motel I've ever stayed in. I'd advise staying anywhere other than here.

I stayed in this motel for 3 nights and it is easily the worst place I've ever stayed. The shower door and the main light were both broken, when I asked for extra pillows they didn't have any (wtf?), paper thin walls, and there were screw holes in the ceiling. Website says "newly remodeled rooms"...REALLY? The room wasn't even clean and I can tell you guys never vacuum under the beds. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay at this horrible property ever again

We stayed one night only and we're happy we didnt have to stay longer. There were old beer bottles and some plastic cups under the bed. The bathroom was old and could totally use a refresh. The bed blankets were made of some weird material that had "rubbery" feel and we just took it off. There was no fridge in a room.
On the positive side it was cheap, close to the beach and town.
There's such a selection of places to stay in Tahoe, we'll go somewhere else next time.

If you're looking for the Ritz, you're in the wrong place. We came to Tahoe to enjoy the outdoors and have a comfortable, relaxing place to come back to and the end of the day. The Green Lantern didn't disappoint. Perfect location (walking distance to the beach, casinos and the gondola,) friendly staff, continental breakfast and the room, for the price, was as expected. I'd stay here again!

Twice I have stayed at hotels that just gave me a creepy feeling; like somebody was going to come in the middle of the night with a chainsaw or something. This was one of the two places.
Even if the place doesn't give you a feeling of imminent doom you'll find it not very nice with minor items like the bathroom door not able to be closed all the way.
Bring a blanket on your trip and sleep in your car if this is the only option.

This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. My friend booked it which is the ONLY reason I stayed here for all of 8 hours. Skip this hotel and pay $10 extra to stay at the one two doors down. The most basic room ever, you are basically paying for a bed and tv. And the "free" Wi-Fi doesn't work at all

Absolutely the worst place I've ever stayed. Upon entering our room we couldn't even get the lights to work. The standing lamp only flickered. The walls were scuffed, dirty, and there was brown splatter on the ceiling and behind the television. The only channel was Nickelodeon, and there was no remote.

Somehow the bed seemed clean but the pillows were nasty, full of yellow drool stains.
    Underneath the bed, nail/toenail clippings.

Wallpaper peeling, mold abundant, hair around the sink, and the shower was a joke. The floor was cracked and it leaked everywhere. The towels were starting to shred on the edge and both towel rods were bent/damaged.

This place is so run down I can't believe it's still in business. Do yourself a favor and kick out the extra to stay literally anywhere else.

HAHAHA, they have a honeymoon suite!

This is an extreme value motel--with a hot tub!  The simulated wood paneling is amazing!

It's pretty dilapidated, but at the price is right.  As a bonus, I didn't bring any bedbugs home, nor did I hear any critters rustling around at night!  The hot tub was a bit green  (hey--it's called the Green Lanto) and the jets didn't work.

They had free Axe body wash samples, as well as a continental breakfast.

    Their motto should be:

    "Acceptable for the price!"
