The Heavenly Village/Marriott Grand Residences condo was very comfy and spacious.  The check-in was smooth, the front desk folks are  friendly/helpfuland made great recommendations for dinner.  Valet is also very efficient and they were able to unload our luggage, ski gear, groceries - and brought it all up to our room quickly.  We even left a pair of glasses in our car which they were kind enough to bring up for us separately.

The condo was equipped with convenient self-lighting fireplaces, and the all furnishings were cozy and comfortable. There were flat screen tv's/dvd players in every room.  The kitchen was great and well stocked, we cooked breakfast everyday.

We enjoyed the pool/spa area at the center of the complex , and there is a nice view of the gondola and mountains from there.  The pool is nicely heated so even in winter its not too cold for a swim.  And they have 2 large spas within the pool complex.

The ski conditions were perfect.  We were lucky -  it was sunny/warm and beautiful and the mountain was not crowded because we were there midweek during a non-holiday period.  And plenty of snow on the mountain due to amazing conditions this season.  You can't beat the location of the condo, steps from the gondola.  There are many ski shops right there as well, which makes it very convenient for rentals and gear.

All in all a wonderful trip!  Would not hesitate to come back and stay at this location again!

Gorgeous property! Customer service is outstanding. Can It get any better?? Complimentary fresh baked cookies & apple cider in the lobby.  Valet for one car was included in our stay! The valet team is awesome. Our car was waiting for us every time we needed it. It was raining so hard one morning; they kindly jumped in the car and drove it under the canopy so we wouldn't get rained on. They asked if we had everything, then said, "sunglasses, cell phone, hats, gloves?"  to make sure we didn't forget anything.
Underground parking so your car doesn't freeze.
Then the bell desk insisted on taking our luggage for us. Outstanding service.
Great location, close to casinos. Great for kids!!
Sauna, steam room, and fitness center is 24 hours! Clean, and we loved them!!
Pool is heated to 85 degrees and both hot tubs are open until 10 pm.
Everything is clean and well maintained.
We stayed in a studio condo, beautifully finished at that. Bed was comfy! TV had all movie channels like HBO, Starz, etc. The kitchen had a crock pot!!
You can make s' mores down by the Fire pit if you want for 5 bucks.
They have tons of daily activities along with an ice skating rink, shops, restaurants, gondola, Movie Theater, and much more.
Free Wi-Fi

We got a deal on groupon for 2 nights for a total of $125. It was a steal of a deal! We will definitely be returning to heavenly village!

We booked a Groupon deal and had a question about our upcoming stay.  Was a little nervous about the deal due to the lack of information from Groupon.  I decided to email Tim at Heavenly Village Condos and he responded within minutes!! I am so impressed and now know that I have nothing to worry about.  Looking forward to a great stay with our family!

Stayed at this place a few times.  Staff is very friendly and helpful.  Amenities include a pool, spa, firepit, workout room, DVD rentals.  If they don't have something, the neighboring property, by the same owners, may have it.  Great location in the summer and even better in the winter!  Literally steps away from the gondola, shops, restaurants and bars!  Highly recommend this place!

I am skeptical about rent from owner services and usually prefer to rent from a hotel.  Sometimes you just don't know what you are getting.  I rented a ski rental at another resort and had to bring EVERYTHING from towels to soap to shampoo.  I tried Heavenly Village Condos on a recommendation from a friend and this was a great rental experience.

I love the Marriott Grand Residence!  It is one of the nicest and most convenient places in South Lake.  It is next to the Heavenly gondola, walking distance to a lot of restaurants and stores, and a quick walk to the casinos at Stateline.

This company only rents villas at the Marriott Grand Residence on behalf of the owners there. I got the same benefits that I would get from Marriott plus a bit more. I rented a 1 bedroom that was absolutely huge with fireplaces in the living room.  I saved almost $90 per night on the rental and I got free parking.  The villa included towels, soap, shampoo, coffee, and even dish washing detergent.

The kitchen had everything I need to cook a good breakfast in the morning and dinner one night.  There is a Raley's Supermarket across the street (maybe a 2 minute walk) that makes it easy to stock-up on supplies.  We lucked out and got a lot of snow while were were there; the ski and snowboard valet was right outside of our elevator.

The car valet was very fast at picking up my car when I called.  It was always waiting for me if I called them from upstairs and then came down to get it.

My only complaints were small ones.  First was that the WiFi was unreliable. One day it did not work at all and a couple of other times I had to connect and reconnect several times to make it work.  That was not really Marriott's or Heavenly Village Condo's fault though, but more seemed to be an AT&T problem.  The other small thing that it did not include was daily housekeeping service; housekeeping that was an option you could ask for upon check-in, but it does cost extra.  Since we were only there for 3 nights it was not a big deal but we did run out of coffee.

This is an update as of 12-4-12. Tim contacted me after I wrote my initial review in regards to my experience with him trying to book here.  In a long story short- He was able to accommodate us on a weekend stay for a Studio condo on the property this past weekend (11-30-12 to 12-2-12)

The 5 stars rating is from my overall stay at the Heavenly Village Condos. AKA. Marriott Grand Residence Club:

  Pros:

- Friendly staff
- Beautiful & clean property
- Year round heated pool and Jacuzzi
- Well stocked and decorated studio condo (We stayed in this room)
- Organized schedule for doing activities for the kids & adults
- Great location (Walking distance to everything you need)
- Homey feel with the amenities of a luxury resort

  Cons:

- $26 a day for valet parking
- $45 one time clean up fee for our unit

In a brief summary, we had a wonderful time at this property and would love to stay here again. It's not the least expensive place to stay in Tahoe, but, if you can stay here at a discounted rate, do it. I was going to give it a 4 star rating for my update, however, Tim took care of our parking for both days & that was the icing on top of the cake for us.

We checked in on Saturday November 23, 2013 and were greeted warmly. We arrived at 11am and were given our room without fuss even though check in is at 4 pm. We had a Groupon deal and it was our first visit to South Lake Tahoe. We were happily impressed with the 1 bedroom unit. The room was clean... Actually spotless!! It had a kitchen and large dining table, living room with a fireplace and flat screen tv. Dishes, pots and pans and utensils were all provided and we had two bathrooms which was super nice for our group of 5. There was a queen pullout couch and two small cozy beds. The one bedroom area was devided by a door. The king bed an pillows were AMAZING!!!

The entire staff was friendly and we were always greeted with a smile. The guys at the valet were super and always had our car ready when we asked. We would love to come back soon. Everything is within walking distance... We walked to the grocery store and stocked up on food items and drinks. We also walked to Harrahs and Harvey's FYI : there is an underground tunnel that connects them.

We walked around and found the gondola close by as well as a small skating ring. Unfortunately we didn't experience either but did go to the nearby cinema. This was a great family friendly vacation so of course we HAD to get tickets to the Illusion Fusion Show at the Horizon Casino. IT WAS AWESOME!!!

If you stay here you will not regret it, we can't wait to return.

I too purchased the Groupon deal, and had an excellent experience. The Groupon deal is for a rent-from-owner room.  My calls were returned promptly, and Tim was always courteous.

I have to credit this place for really taking my "weekend getaway on-a-budget" to the next level.  Like "romantic dream getaway for two" level.  The service and accommodations were impeccable.

If you're a cheapo one-star motel goer like me, this place will knock your socks off.  The valets, luggage attendants and front desk staff are all top-notch.  You've got access to a very well-maintained fitness center, day spa, pool/jacuzzi and steam room, with shopping and dining just downstairs, and the casinos only a block away.

Our room was very comfortable and clean.  The studio includes a fully-functional kitchen, so we saved a few bucks making our own breakfast in bed and surfing the ample selection of cable channels.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it, especially if you are lucky enough to get a great deal!

We recently stayed at Heavenly Village Condos and had a wonderful experience. The staff, location, and the grounds themselves were fantastic!  The staff was friendly and knowledgable; they always had good suggestions and/or directions to nearby activities. (Valet parking is included.) The condos are within walking distance to the gondola, shopping, restaurants, and a movie theatre.
The condos are very reasonably priced! It cost us about the same as it would have to stay in a hotel, and we got a much better experience. If you're looking to save even more money, the kitchens come fully stocked with appliances and dining ware. We were able to buy groceries at the Raleys across the street and make our own breakfast and pack our own lunches most days (Which is perfect when you have a full day of fun activities planned! Just take your lunch to-go!).

I have been coming to South Lake Tahoe for the last 25 years.  I have stayed almost every place in SLT from the Motel 6 to the Embassy Suites, The Ridge at Tahoe, Harrahs, and Harveys. A couple of years ago, I found the Marriott Grand Residence and knew I had found the best place to stay in the Stateline / South Lake Area.

So, first, a bit about the hotel.  The is adjacent to the Heavenly Ski Resort gondola.  Literally 50 feet outside the side door.  There are shops, restaurants, Raley's grocery store, movie theater, ice skating, and the casinos within a 2 or 3 minute walk. The hotel has a gym, spa, pool, and 2 hot tubs.  Parking is courtesy of valets out on the Park Avenue side of the building.  And, you check your skis downstairs rather than having to carry them back to your room.  Hands down this is the most convenient place to stay.

The rooms range from studios through 3-bedroom condos. During our last stay we had a 2-bedroom condo that was absolutely huge with fireplaces, a kitchen, 3 bathrooms. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable, and soft beds.  The staff were all friendly, professional, and quickly responded to any request.

Now, a bit about "Heavenly Village Condos".  Last year, relaxing in the hot tub a guy turned me on to Heavenly Village Condos (HVC).  He explained that the hotel is actually individually owned condos that are managed by the Marriott.  Many owners rent their condos directly to people rather than through Marriott and thus is where HVC comes in.  Hot tub dude explained that you can usually save $100 or more a night renting from HVC.  This past trip, Marriott's web site was renting a 2-bedroom for $570 per night while HVC was renting a 2-bedroom for $375.00 per night.  Simple math!  And savings that goes towards buying lift tickets!

Check-in for the condo is at the front desk just like if you had rented from the hotel, valet parking is complementary and so is the WiFi.  There is a cleaning fee due to the front desk at check out but they explain that when you make the reservation.  My interaction with HVC was smooth and they quickly responded to my reservation request and provided me with my confirmation number.

My only complaints would be that the WiFi is very slow at times and that you don't get Marriott Reward Points but for a significant saving like this I'll forgo the hotel points.
