We came over from the Royal Vallhalla mid-stay as it was a complete dump. The Park Tahoe Inn was clean, the beds were amazing and the service was excellent. Breakfast was super and for the price I am very happy. The only thing I was not happy about was the $7.00 per night fee for the pool and spa and the $5.00 a night fee for parking which I was not told about until it was too late. It was still worth it, the ground are immaculate and the pool and spa are SPOTLESS. Internet was impossible but if you are in Tahoe you should enjoy the great outdoors! I did see a computer in the lobby but I'm not sure if they charge for it or not. I would stay here again.

Typical motel. You can find a nice condo or time share to rent for way less.

I wanted to give this hotel 3 stars. Location is great - right in the middle of Tahoe Village, across the street from the Raley's shopping complex. It used to be two other motels, located next to each other - that were bought out and remodeled. The remodel is ok - new paint and exteriors - new 'lodge'like furniture - with a few contemporary fixtures to give it an updated look. The junior suite is just a larger room by any motel standards. Continental breakfast is the usual juice, coffee, bagels, yogurt type thing. However, they not only charge you for parking ($5 per night- and the parking is NOT secured) - but they charge you for their 'green' services - $7 per night - neither of these charges are included in the rate they quote. Also, I asked the front desk person if DL Bliss State Park was open, and after he looked on line - he said he thought it was - well it wasn't (totally snowed in) , plus the website says open from May to September- and while I didn't mind the beautiful drive, other guests might have been upset. Oh, and our room key cards acted up quite a bit - and you need these to enter your room, enter the breakfast room , and the room where you get ice. Again, great location, but the place has some kinks to work out.

Solid value for a mid-level hotel/inn when booked online with a Heavenly Vacation Package (4 nights midweek + 2 two-day lift tickets = $400 + daily fees).  The location is amazing; right across from a shopping center with a 24hr Raleys, plenty of fast food, and a decent pizza joint, and two blocks walk from the Heavenly Village.  The only negative is the street noise from the main road (especially when chain control is in effect), but it didn't bother my fiancée or me at all. The rooms are reasonably appointed with a very nice temperpedic bed and tastefully done artwork and furniture.  The fridge, coffee maker, and TV work fine but might merit upgrading to match the mid-upscale image this hotel it striving for.  The bathroom is small but complete with one of the nicest showers I have seen outside of a luxury hotel. Faux granite walls and floor with a well done full glass door, great shower head and water pressure.  Their pet acceptance policy is also a huge selling point, though a tad pricey at $25/day.  The breakfast, as others have mentioned, is very limited and also merits upgrading to match their target image.  The free wifi is greatly appreciated, though very slow at times. Finally the staff is very welcoming and friendly.  Overall a great place to stay and we will be back.

Stayed there this past Sunday. Excellent deal $50 hotels.com . Room was decent size for two people. Bathroom not huge and no bathtub. Bed did feel stiff but actually had a great night sleep. Perfect location if going to casinos or heavenly. Overall I would recommend.

Park Tahoe Inn is a no-frills, basic place to sleep that happens to be within walking distance of Heavenly.  I would've given this place 5 stars because of the excellent continental breakfast and the fridge in the rooms, but the pillows were flat and the bed was not really comfortable.  I would definitely stay here again, though,  just for the convenience and the price. $69 bucks on Sunday night and $59 on Monday was the best deal around. The Inns next door were nearly a hundred, and the casinos were more - and Park Tahoe Inn doesn't come with the nasty smoke-filled air.  It's a great find!

The place is a good hotel, clean sheets, no bedbugs and pretty convient location.  The best part of the hotel is:  Mike.  Mike works the guest desk but he checked me in, and when I asked about getting the chains off my wheels which I had to buy because I can unprepared to Tahoe on JUNE 1st.  Unfortunately, since it was late in the season and at night there was no place open so he removed them for me.  That is service above and beyond the call of duty.  Thanks Mike.

Cramped, tiny room that smelled like cigarette smoke.  Charged $7  resort fee for what?  They should just include the $7 in the room price.  We booked it online last minute because they wanted to charge $30 more per night for just showing up without a reservation.  Won't stay here again.

The Park Tahoe Inn is now being remodeled!  Our room was totally redone, simple but nice and a Tempurpedic mattress, ahhhh! So lovely.  I agree this hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the Heavenly Gondola, the casinos and shopping. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, and 24 hour access to coffee and water in the breakfast room. We paid a lot but for a last minute place on a Saturday night it was a deal!  The desk staff was helpful and attentive.  We found this hotel after a terrible night spent at a different place.   I would stay here again, definitely.

    Two words: THIN WALLS.

If you don't mind hearing your neighbors there talk as if they were in the room with you, then this is the place for you.  If not, don't stay here.  If you're lucky enough, try to get a room upstairs, so that you don't constantly have to hear people walk around above your head, or use the sink, or shower, or use the bathroom.  After a day on the slopes, I barely got any sleep because of all the noise.

But 2 stars for the clean room and the location is pretty close to everything.

Granted, the rooms are remodeled but what a nightmare this place is. I had to move rooms 3 times before I got one that had electricity that worked. The shower went from giving you scalding hot third degree burns one second, to frost bite the next. For some reason the staff thought that we were checking out after one night (I prepaid for 2 nights) so my key was deactivated anytime I tried to get back into my room. My husband took the dog out to relieve himself in the morning (mind you it's 30 degrees outside), but the key didn't work so he had to stand outside with only sweat pants on for over 15 minutes until I got out of the shower. Not to mention that when I got home, I noticed that the hotel had charged me for my stay after I had booked through Expedia. After all of this, they refused to mail the jeans that I left behind and insisted on charging my credit card to UPS them back to me.

I am disappointed. Rooms were not the best. I had to see three rooms before I chose one. The night lady was very helpful. She gave me three different keys to see if I liked any room. I drove three hours and already tired, so I just did not have any energy to look for better rooms. Every room I went it did not catch my eyes. I did not feel "oh nice" kind. I have been to motel 6 at Lake Tahoe, and I honestly believe it was not better than motel6 from any side. The only thing I liked was the bed. That's about it. I had to take handicapped room because no other rooms were looked clean to me. I was reluctant to walk in bare foot because the carpet didn't look fresh clean. They had Jacuzzi in the handicapped room, but it was not working. I reported the desk about it, but nobody came to fix it. Finally, I found they charge "Resort Fee"; charged me $12/day. I paid $36 for staying three days. I think it just rip off.  This place is no way near to be considered as a resort. Paying $12/day for it makes no sense to me. I will definitely not going to this place again. I can find better place with the price I paid. I am giving 2 stars because of the clerks(evening/night) helped to provide a microwave.Oh, finally, the wifi was sux. It never worked during our stay. It took for ever to open a page. We took our two laptops, but none of us used it because of terrible wifi reception. I called front desk, and they said it was because of the rain. You kidding me. I do this for living. So, no more going back to that motel anymore.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had.  From the start I should have known that this would not be good.  When I tried to check in, the guy at the front desk had his dog there running loose in the lobby and the dog scratched the hell out of my leg, making it bleed. Guests finally asked him if he could tie his dog up.  I had asked if I could have a room with 2 beds and he said that there would be an additional $10 charge.  I had asked if he could waive that since his dog scratched me pretty badly.  He just rolled his eyes and didn't even apologize.  AND, they charge a $12 Resort Fee that isn't mentioned on Hotwire.  I was given a key card for room 136.  I drove to where the room was, got all of my luggage out, then hauled it to room 136, only to find that room 136 was already occupied!  I then went to the office to let them know and the guy at the front desk said that nobody was in room 136.  I told him I opened the door to room 136 and there were people in there.  So, I was given a different room and finally checked in.  I should have just gone somewhere else.  The room was not very clean, lots of hair on the floor, and the beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in.  They were some sort of memory foam mattresses, but they were hard as a rock.  Nobody in the room slept well that night.  I will never return to this hotel.  Absolutely terrible

Comfortable and clean hotel in a convenient location. My family and I stayed here recently and were glad we did. I believe it is a remodeled Travelodge and is much nicer now. The staff is courteous and helpful at the front desk during check in/out and were more than willing to offer suggestions for places to go with the kids and places to eat. Rooms are decent in size with two queen sized beds & basic furnishings. Nothing fancy in the rooms, but enough room for a younger family of four and luggage. The best thing about this place is the location; across the street from all the Heavenly shops/gondola, a short walk from stateline and Casinos, and near many places to eat. Definitely would recommend and would come back with my family. Can't beat it for the price!

It was MLK weekend and we showed up Saturday night only to realize we had accidentally booked for the following weekend instead (through Hotwire.com ). Luckily, they had a room available and offered it to us at about the same price we paid through Hotwire ($160 including misc. fees). They were surprisingly pretty nice about it and were willing to work with Hotwire on getting a refund.

I learned from Yelp reviews that this place used to be a Travelodge, and they did a decent job of revamping the place with nicer furnishings and unexpected luxuries, like the Tempur-pedic mattresses and Bath & Body Works toiletries.  It's too bad they couldn't do much about the actual floorplan though--the bathroom is tiny and the door has to be closed in order to gain full use of the sink.  The free continental breakfast was standard--raisin bagels, cereal, and microwave oatmeal, coffee, tea, juice, etc.

Other than that...great location (easy walk to Harrah's, Harvey's, Heavenly gondola) and decent all around for a motel.

I have stayed here twice on short two day ski trips. The second time they put us in a room next to a guest that had a dog that barked incessantly so we asked to be moved which they did. The channel selection on their  tv system is horrible.  Maybe ten channels.  Their wifi is useless.  I tried to listen to pandora and their wifi couldn't handle the data transfer. It really only worked for email.  The temperpeadic beds were nice.  Be aware that they charge a "resort" fee of $12 which is not included in your rate quote online. Not as inexpensive a room as I thought...$79 + 12.  One ice machine didn't work, the spa wasn't working. The in-room refrigerators either are broken or are worn out since they couldn't even chill a 6 pack of beer..I will stay somewhere else on my next trip to south shore even if I have to pay more.  Harvey's casino actually had a lower priced mid-week room but I wanted to be able to park close to my room for schlepping my ski stuff to dry out in the room. It my be worth the schlepp after all.

In real estate listings this place would be described as "cozy."  Translated that means tiny.  I have never seen a hotel room as small as this one - there was less than 12" to maneuver around the foot of the bed.  I'm not joking.  Don't even think about bringing skis or more than 1 suitcase into the room, there won't be space.  All that said, the bed was comfortable, things were clean, the hot tub was hot, and it's within walking distance to everything.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary by going to Lake Tahoe for three days. When we came across the Park Tahoe Inn we thought it was going to be this cute little inn, boy were we wrong. Here is what we experienced during our stay...

When we arrived the front desk girl asked for our credit card which we had no problem providing to her as we were under the impression she was charging the remaining balance for our stay. (She wasn't). We found out on Saturday night when I asked my husband to get a print out of our hotel stay so far that she charged us for incidentals something that was not indicated anywhere on their website that they would do, and that we were still going to be charged the remaining balance. In other words Park Tahoe Inn took a total of about $450 for a three night stay.

After checking in we walked to our room and I swear I haven't never felt such bad vibes. This was the first time EVER that I actually removed all the blankets and thoroughly checked the bed for bugs and stains. While there were no bugs we found a bunch of stains on the bed sheets so we had the front desk girl change our room. She then moved us to another room that had even more stains on the bed sheets than the one before. Finally she moved to a room that was clean however, we found all these hairs on the comforter by this time I gave up on trying to get a clean room so my husband and I resorted to removing all the sheets and sleeping with a blanket we had brought from home.

The shower was also extremely filthy hairs covered the drain and were all over the shower walls, so my husband and I had to run the hot water for like fifteen minutes until we finally thought it was somewhat clean enough to get in.

This hotel claims to be "Green/Eco-Friendly," IT'S NOT. It seems like management uses this excuse so they don't have to spend money washing the sheets and towels. From our experience we came to believe that after a guest leaves the hotel doesn't clean the sheets, they leave the sheets soiled from past guests and let new guests sleep on those. So disgusting!

I would not under any circumstances recommend this hotel to anyone.

We went there during there "Home for the Holidays" pricing special ($70/night) and it was as good as it gets. Room was very nice and very inexpensive. The beds were the Tempurpedic one's and it was like sleeping on clouds! I loved it! I might just get one myself! Great location!! Everything is pretty much across the street, although it was awfully cold to even walk outside! The staff was great! They let us check in early and really didn't need them after that..but I'm sure they would have been very helpful! Highly recommended!

Way to expensive for what it is. I thought we had a good deal- we stayed 3 days and paid an average of $75 a night. or so I thought. It really turned out to be $100 a night because of tax + made up resort fee + parking fee. Dear park inn, you are not a resort in any way.

In reality, it is probably a 2 star hotel- like most of the hotels in the area. There is no breakfast, the room is tiny and they allow pets which means that you will hear dogs barking all night. I kept complaining about all the noise from the animals and they said they would let me move rooms... and then didn't! they kept telling me I could move rooms or they would refund me the nights I hadn't stayed yet. Nope nothing. Finally they said they would return the bogus resort fees- like $30. Nope, never did that! It was unbelievable. This was the most expensive hotel I stayed at in the heavenly area and by far the worst. I will never go there again.

We stayed 2 nights and it was very good, we got a good price and were staying off peak (Sunday & Monday). The room was clean with a nice size shower. We asked for extra toiletries and they were delivered within 15mins of our request. We parked the car right in front of the apartment, we requested for downstairs as after a day of skiing we didn't want to have to climb stairs! The evening was quite with no disturbances. It snow during the night so in the morning it was nice to open the curtains and see everything white :-)

The curtains were double layered so you could pull the blackout curtains to allow you to sleep in. You get a parking pass as we had 2 double beds in our  room we used the second pass for a friend to park his car while we went to dinner.

TV was clear, bathroom mirror was large and there was a hair dryer in the room. Breakfast was included, it's not much but it's enough - basics like cereal, toast, bagel, juice, coffee, hot chocolate etc.

WELL, i just came back from my south lake tahoe trip, and it was very fun. middle of july and you can still see snow. but this inn..... was so bad. first of all
    1. the $12/a night fee to have "eco friendly" environment... -___- the pool water apparently was minerals not chlorine, shampoo/conditioner and soaps were organic. we were surprised by the fee. when we called and asked if we had to pay an extra fee they told us absolutely not... WHAT A LIAR. the jacuzzi wasnt even that good. it can barely fit like 3 people. and the pool was like only 5 ft deep...
    2. the room smelled gross. i guess pets stay here so they prob sprayed some flea thing around the room before checking us in... it was disgusting. i hope i didnt get bitten. the bed was nice. if you didnt share the bed. and at night i could hear everything.... from cars in the parking lot to the convo of the family next to us or the tv.......
    3. the shower was so tiny........ i only like the hot water after going into the icy cold lake water :P
    4. the coffee was okay... i used the maker actually to boil some water to make my ramen LOL in the morning i threw away the hotel coffee and went to starbucks next to us and bought a frap.
    5. 1 star for the closeness to heavenly and the beaches and foods. and 1 star for the price (without the hidden fee-__-) for a night.

Was looking for a cheap place to stay in South Lake Tahoe and this is the place I chose. Clean rooms that are affordable with a  temperpedic matress...I was pretty psyched about that. Stayed here for a weekend away in June. Great location, right dow  the street (walking distance) to casinos and plenty of shops. The hotel staff were very friendly upon check-in, and quickly got us into our room. The rooms aren't fancy, and offer the basics (tv, desk, bed, fridge)... But when we really just needed a place to crash and watch some tv before dinner, we were happy. The bathrooms were nice, and the shower was the right temp (not sure what issues others may have had but we had no water temp issues). The memory foam mattresses made the hotel experience a great one. I slept like a baby, and I am fairly sure my next mattress purchase will be a memory foam one. Our only complaints were that the walls are pretty thin so other guests and traffic can be heard, but that's the price you pay for being right off of the main road (which by the way, is another perk!). Also, the parking lot was a little bit cramped. Other than that, great place to stay!!

Paper thin walls, you could hear everything happening in the rooms next you.  Even people speaking in the parking lot (I was on 2nd floor)  Room had pet urine stains on the carpet.  Jacuzzi looked dirty.  Heater uses a heat pump through the air conditioner.  Loud fan and compressor noises.  The beds were nice, and the only plus.  Bring EAR PLUGS.  PS, they now charge $12/night basically for parking.

I was expecting to be disappointed because I read some negative reviews, but I thought the Park Tahoe Inn was clean, quiet, very reasonably priced and in a great location. We were able to get two rooms for the price it would have cost us to cram our 5-person family in one room at another hotel. Plus it's a pet-friendly hotel so we were able to bring our dog, too. We walked to the beach, to the casinos and to dinner across the street. Would definitely stay here again.

How did anyone give this place multiple stars?  $130 to stay at a Travelodge?  At least Travelodge had the cute little sleepy bear to distract you from the grim room.
Sorry but $5 to park basically in the street and $7 for a "resort fee?". WTF!  There's nothing resembling a resort amenity, no help with luggage, what is this all about? Yeah the Tempurpedic is nice but I'm sure Sleep Train would let me spend a night in their store for less than  $130 and I wouldn't have to listen to the shower drip all night long.
And what is with Tahoe and pets?  We allow pets, but we charge $25 PER NIGHT PER PET, in our case this came out to over a dollar a pound per night for our two small dogs, who by the way are more hygienic than a whole bunch of people that I know.....
On the up side, they do a nice job on the continental breakfast, you just have to be clear on the definition of continental, don't expect omelettes and flapjacks.

not saying i wouldnt stay here again but between having to construct our own do not disturb sign, the super shorty showerhead, sink faucet that took hercules to turn on and off, and terribly small hottub i have to stick with two stars for now.
location and price wise its a great deal. be sure to check their website for the best deal also.

When my mom and dad decided to make their way from the East Coast to visit me in San Fran, I didn't want to bore them with the usual Bay Area attractions.  They've been here twice already, so I wanted to show them where the boyfriend and I go to escape it all, Tahoe.

Of course, autumn tends to be a more "off" season in that area, since there wasn't snow on the ground at the time and there were more clouds than sun, we got a deal on lodging through travelocity ($103/night, tax included)

I've already voiced my opinion on the travelocity customer service (SUCKS), but they offered a stellar deal on this hotel for 1 night. This hotel is located on the SOUTH SIDE of Lake Tahoe and is right across the street from Heavenly Village (eateries and shops).  It is a short walk from Nevada line casino land (Harrah's, etc...)

The hotel staff was friendly enough.  In fact, upon checking in the young man at the reservation/check-in desk offered good advice about dining establishments.

The room was clean and looked as if it had just been remodeled.  The heater is one of those side units (not central heat), so the annoying thing is that it dries the air and makes some noise.  We fit 4 adults comfortably in a 2 queen bed suite (with refrigerator, dining table and a sitting area).  The bathroom had a waterfall type shower-head and the water pressure was a-ok and so was the temp control.  They do supply Bath and Bodywork little travel-sized toiletries for your use and a hairdryer.  I did find the tempurpedic style memory-foam beds a bit disconcerting (sorry).

All in all, for our needs, we were pleased with our stay and got to enjoy a great weekend (despite the prescribed burning) near the lake.

Oh...just one last thought, if you stay there during the winter, I know that the rate probably sky-rockets.  Plus the parking lot is sort of haphazard and the carpeted catwalk style landings to your room are just a formula for disaster and spillage with snow and ice in the winter....I'm just thinking out loud here...

1 star for the tempurpedic bed.
    1 star for location.

Other than that, I don't plan to return here! ever!
Toilet wasn't bolted down, so it clanked and banged every time you sat or stood up. Bathroom shower is small (no tub), and so is the sink area.  We were in the junior suite, which had more space, but nothing else special!  We could hear our neighbors' doors squeak every time they were opened/closed. There was also trash in the flower pot areas, right next  to the trash can. After walking past the same fast food bag for 2 days, i finally threw it away...and the overflowing can wasn't emptied during our 4 night stay. The grounds maintenance needs improvement. I will say that the maid service was very efficient in cleaning our room.
In summary, there is nothing "resort-ish" about this place. It's a motel with a lodge/inn facade.

A horrible dump of a hotel. If you like peeling paint and cigarette butts everywhere this is the place for you. Horrible attention to detail in the rooms - ice machine broken, burned out lights in the corridors- The Hotel staff was rude and made no attempt to keep the customers happy. Please dont ever stay here- you will regret it!

Considering the area, this is probably one of the nicest, non-corporate hotels here. There are other cheaper places to stay also but they look like your typical shady motels also.

This place isn't the greatest by any means but it also isn't the worst. It's super close to the Heavenly Gondola and pretty close to anything else you'd need. It's across the street from the shopping center so you have quick, easy access to the supermarket, Starbucks and Baja Fresh.

The rooms are ok. TV's kind of suck but no big deal. I think the room was around $150-$160 or so a night? Can't remember. Within the area, this place would probably be one of the mid-level hotels to stay at.

Overall, not to bad a place. Probably a little on the pricey side but still an okay deal I guess. Their "free" breakfast is pretty pathetic by anyones standards. It's a plate of bagels, bags of cereal (yes, bags of cereal, not boxes) and a carafe of coffee. Yeah, pretty lame.

This place is cool if you basically just need a bed for the night.  Staff was friendly.  We stayed here 2 nights.  The longer you stay the cheaper it is.  The room is small but clean. The walls are SUPER THIN I could hear people attempting to play the guitar & sing along.....lucky us.  Could also hear the coming & goings of people around us.  One thing that kinda annoyed me was after a long day of boarding we came back to our room & both room cards would not work so I had to walk all the way back to the check in office to get our room cards working.  Good thing about this place is its in a good location so your walking distance to restaurants & stores.

kind of a rip.  better than staying at a motor lodge though. prices depend on where and how you book your reservation.  i probably paid too much via expedia.  and then upon check out, i got charged $12 on top of the price i paid for the room.  i've never prepaid for a hotel and been charged more than that (unless there was some paid-for thing that i did)

really convenient if you're skiing at Heavenly for at least 2 days*. ok, so i'm sorry- i'm sure they have to deal with punk-ass skiers/snowboarders, but don't stop caring about service if you're going to try to be a nicer place to stay, or just don't stop caring!  once you're checked in, you're out of sight out of mind.

the front desk person said it was totally fine to leave my car there the day of check out and to just tell them that when i check out that my car will be here a few extra hours.  when i told them that the next day, i was told i could only do that on a "normal" day.  last i checked, it was one of the 7 normal days of the week; but i guess it was the coming of jesus that day so i had to move my car. ..*no longer convenient if you're going to heavenly that day.

i liked that the room is warm upon check in.  the heater works well, but makes the already dry air even dryer- suuuuper dry; might help to run a steamy shower before going to bed.  no wifi.  they had just a packet of decaf coffee in the room, broke my heart.  the coffee condiments packet was open so i guess they just never replenished.  minus a star if you provide a coffee maker and no (real) coffee. not even a cheap lipton tea bag.  everyone'll tell you that the walls are tissue-paper thin, so bring earplugs/nyquil/ambien/whisky shots/etc if you want to sleep. oh, and don't expect your key cards to ever work the first time- here or any place.

will i come back? probably, now that i have an expectation to go by.

This hotel sucked. It was awful. The ONLY thing that saved it was the bed. But everything else was awful. Eeeek! From the constant running shower that dipped & flooded the tiny bathroom to the disgusting carpet floor that was wet (thank goodness i brought flip flops to wear around, lame!) to the rude staff that looked & acted like they hated life all day, it was overall the worst experience. Would NOT go back ever.

Location is great, but that is really about it.  I got a deal on my room, so I have the say the price was ridiculously low (under 50 bucks a night) BUT, even the cheap price didn't stop me from checking out a day early. I simply forfeited my second night.  The linens and bed spread were absolutely filthy. It may have been in my head, but I woke up feeling itchy and dirty.  Some things have been updated, but for the most part, the old still shows through... it's rough around the edges.  Also, the wi-fi was awful if you are trying to get any work done or emails sent.  I had one bar the entire time.  In addition, you can hear everything - the people upstairs, the traffic outside, etc. However, the staff was very nice.  Even though it was cheap, I will not stay there again.

Clean, good rates, near the beach. Superior King room which we had was a bit smallish in the bathroom, but if you're only going to use the room to park your stuff and sleep then it's no problem at all. The décor is tasteful, everything is newly remodeled and it shows. If you're a light sleeper, ask for a back room away from the road. The beach is a quick and easy 5-10 minute walk away, and you get a free pass for 6 people. Right across the street from restaurants and shops, and Harrah's casino is just a couple blocks down the main drag, literally 5 feet over the Nevada state line.

If you go during snow season, you're just across the street from the Heavenly base lodge, and there are gear shops all over the place.

The beds in the room are amazingly comfortable, TVs are good, and everything inside is nice and clean. Definitely worthwhile and worth the money. Staff is very friendly and responsive too. I'd definitely returned.

What a difference a year makes!  They dropped 2 stars!!!

We like to ski at Heavenly and this motel is a great location.  The beds are tempur-pedic, very comfortable.  That's the extent of the positive.

They no longer serve breakfast, which was not much but it was adequate and very convenient.  The wi-fi did not work and when I called the front desk they never answered the phone.  The final straw is they now charge $12 for parking, and there are not a lot of spaces!

The price was right. The beds were extremely comfortable being they were temperpetic (I'm totally butchering the spelling ha!), and the rooms were spacious. The  front desk staff was very accommodating. We ended up switching from a 1 king to a 2 queen bedroom last minute and they didn't charge us a fee whatsoever. The hotel is in a prime location, especially for shopping, skiing, snow play, and restaurants. I loved that there was a Starbucks right across the street as well as an Ihop. The only reason I did not give the hotel 5 stars was because there was no fan in the bathroom and with the window open in the middle of the winter it is freezing! The paint is starting the peel off of the ceiling in the restroom and I felt like we could hear right through the walls into the next bedroom. Other than that Id absolutely recommend the Park Tahoe Inn. Also a bonus, they gave us 15% off on our next visit if we book directly through them! (no hotels.com :( but that's OK.) we might be back this summer!!

Sticky floors, insanely slow and often non-existent wireless internet, and even the junior suites have small showers.

The bathroom floors do not seem like they were mopped and I question the blankets...

The hotel is nice, but they nickle and dime you. Even though you've already paid 100 dollars for a room, they add a $5 charge for parking and $7 for some unknown service fee. When you pay so much, why don't you just add the fees to the total. It looks like your money grabbers.

They rooms are fine, but they're nothing special and are kind of small.

Great location.  A block from the lake, across the street from Heavenly, walking distance to shopping and casinos.

Staff.  They were friendly, offered us a good deal during Labor Day weekend, and provided passes to private beach access to watch the fireworks show.  Plus, when we requested extra pillows and toiletries they arrived promptly.

Price.  Even with the discount we were offered, $158 (includes taxes, parking and "resort" fees) was pretty outrageous for what we got.

Rooms.  Yeah, the beds are nice, but the space is really tight, particularly the bathroom.  The shower in particular was especially cramped.

1 star for location but that's it! where do I begin?

First off, about 50 people pushed me to write this review as I was part of a tour bus traveling to South Tahoe for a concert at Harvey's a block away from Park Tahoe Inn.  The main issue here was not the thin walls or the loud noises from the main street. Nor was it because of the itchy bed sheets and assumed unwashed top layer blanket.  The most impactful incident for this review is the absence of HOT WATER. How can we shower without hot water? We checked with the rest of the guests on the tour bus and half of them did not have running hot water as well. Luckily/not so lucky it was our last day there. The building attendants told us we can check out later until they get it fixed but we knew better than to wait around for that. I'm not sure if they knowingly knew to shut it off to save money or if it was really an accident. Either way, it wasn't fixed within 8 hours of reporting the issue.

Unbelievable. Never Again. I would have a better night's stay sleeping at Starbucks.

We went hiking this past weekend and stayed here again.

Same thing.  Friendly folks, great deal, comfy bed, clean room, etc. etc.  It's so close to everything!  I found out their continental breakfast will no longer be served come October.  I don't get up early enough to take part in the breakfast, though.

The showers are very relaxing.  Hot water is consistent.  I didn't get stuck in the shower stall this time.  Didn't bring the dog.  When we walked into the room, we smelled crisp, cool air.  No odor of any kind.

The beds are so comfortable that we fell asleep as soon was we shut the door.  We will book a room here again soon.  Maybe they have frequent visitor card of some sort.  That would be nice!

Although a bit cramped for space in places, my room was clean, the heater and shower worked well, and the bed was comfortable.

I've stayed here twice before. The only problem I had this time around is that they no longer serve breakfast. Their breakfast wasn't big, but it was convenient. And I was already hungry when I discovered this. Apparently, they stopped serving it last September. My guess is that they didn't exactly announce this reduction in service. Maybe the cost went down but, if so, not by much.

Next time I go skiing at Heavenly, if all I need is a decent bed within walking distance, I'll look elsewhere first.

Right in the middle of Heavenly Village, the Park Tahoe Inn is a simple hotel right next to the Heavenly Gondola. I was nervous at first because so many hotels claim to be "right across the street" from something and then it turns out that it's like a mile away. The Park Tahoe is, in fact, close to across the street. I would say that it's about 100m away.

I booked on Expedia and got the room here for $80 a night. For what we got, it was pretty good. The rooms were simple but comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower, which is key when you are in the snow all day long.

Breakfast is included. Basically you get bagels, small croissants, donuts and cereal. Nothing too exciting, but good enough.

The best part of the hotel, hands down, is the 24 hour a day jacuzzi. It's a pretty good size, which was proven when we fit 11 adults in there. Pretty impressive, if you ask me. The 11 people (from different groups and so we got to know each other in the jacuzzi) had a lot of fun drinking wine and beer and rolling around in the snow. The really gutsy people actually took a dunk in the unheated swimming pool. There was ice and snow flowing in it and still, a few people got in all the way, jumped out and back into the jacuzzi. Needless to say that the jacuzzi provided for a lot of entertainment.

All in all, I was very happy with this hotel. Although it's getting a bit dated and an updated room would be nice, it was cheap, compared to the other hotels in the area, a good distance to the gondola and restaurants and other general entertainment. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well.

South Lake Tahoe is saturated with hotels. Most of them are basic motel style accommodations, offering weekend-trippers, skiers and snowboarders affordable place to spend the night before hitting the slopes in winter time. And most hotels deliver.

Park Tahoe Inn is one of such accommodations. I would call it an "upscale motel". The property is huge, without any particular amenities or frills except maybe slightly nicer rooms than, say, Super 8. Still, there's not much to write home about. TVs are outdated, heaters are noisy, bathrooms are cramped and beds - well, beds are pretty nice, although not THAT nice.

But this is a hotel with a Napoleonic complex. While not really being anything special overall, it reckons itself some kind of a luxurious resort. And - get this - you will be slapped with a $12/night "amenities" fee upon your checkout. Now, I stayed in hotels of much higher quality and reputation than Park Tahoe, and unless I used a specific amenity that warranted a charge, I have never been charged "just because". I found this ridiculous and I pointed it out to the staff - to no avail.

The only amenity I was interested in, besides the bed, was the jacuzzi. I even called ahead, and the desk clerk named Mike told me it was the biggest jacuzzi he's ever seen and that it was basically awesome. Sold on his enthusiasm, I arrived at Park Tahoe Inn only to see a tiny bubble bath with tepid water. I mean, it's not even average in size - it's actually your typical small size jacuzzi you see in plenty of cheap properties around lake Tahoe. But that being that, it was not working properly anyway. So much for the awesomeness of this place. Still, the amenities fee was charged. I will not stay there in future.

Umm not my best hotel stay... but I suppose it could have been worse. I'll give it 2.5 stars. There were a few problems with our room. 1. The shower door has no caulking so it leaks water ALL OVER the bathroom floor. I'm not being dramatic, it really was a mess. 2 The walls are paper thin. We heard every move people made even at 3 a.m. Lucky for us nobody was on a romantic getaway that we could hear! 3. The lighting sucks. With the curtains open and the lights on you still can't see.

Their only redemption is the price, the posturpedic beds (so comfy espcially after a long day on the slopes) and the proximity to the slopes and stateline. Note, if you haven't been to Tahoe, most of these small hotels don't have covered parking except the big hotels. So if it dumps down snow like it did on our trip, you're going to be knee high digging out your car.

Ok, I am waiting till the last minute to write this review.  I don't want my whole winter season to be swamped at my favorite sleeping box.  I love this place, this is my second season at Tahoe and this is my go to place to crash when I have 2 or more days to snowboard.

I call the staff directly.  I love Travis, the English guy who is always aim to please and so is Mike who brings me towels and check movie times for me when I need it.  Brian use to work night audit and would take my calls in the middle of the night to make quick bookings.  Crystal always checks me in and out.

This season, I've been there about 12-15 stays.  I was there for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Staying at Park Tahoe is still cheaper than me renting a house for the season.  The location is fantastic because it is right across the street from Heavenly Village, Raleys supermarket is there, 2 movie theaters within walking distance and the all the Casinos are there too.  For convenience sake, you can't beat this place and their pricing.

I give them four stars because everyone has been great to me.  Beds are good, shower is always hot, and there are NO flower polyester bedding.  I am a no frill guest, I want clean and I want functional, and Park Tahoe has it all.  I did not even know they have breakfast, but I don't care because Starbucks is right across the Street.

My only issue is the $12 resort fee.  Get rid of it!!!

    Thanks for a great Season!

My husband and I booked a room for 2 nights at this place through Booking.com .  The website had very nice photos, which turned out to be totally deceiving - this is mentioned by other reviewers.  Our room was too small, had no tea or coffee making facilities, which was supposedly included.  There was 1 chair, no little table.  There were long black hairs in the shower.  There were people stomping around above us and yelling all night long.  When I went to use the restroom at night, the water was turned off.  No water for at least 2 hours.  I dialed the desk to report that we had no water, and the phone rang for over 20 times, but no one answered.  The phone in our room had a different room number on it - not the number of the room we were in!  After barely sleeping that night, we decided NOT to stay the second night.  I had no  desire to return to that room-or that motel.
I attempted to contact the manager several times to be sure we weren't charged for the 2nd night, but she was never available.  I finally called Booking.com , and the person I spoke to got through.  I wasn't charged for that night.
I gave this place 1 star because the receptionist was quite courteous.

This review will be based on customer service and then the room.

In early November 2010 I was looking for a cheap, decent place to stay, close to the Heavenly Village and Casinos. I found this place on yahoo.travel.com , checked out their website and ended up booking a Superior King room at an unbelievable price for two nights. Three days later, my friend notified me that we would need to book 2 more rooms in the same area. Unfortunately, when I called back I wasn't able to get the same rate for the other two rooms and had to reserve two Economy sized rooms a slightly higher rate than my Superior King room.

Now here is where the 5 star customer service comes in. (Christina was the person working at the front desk and helped me with all my reservations.) Now that I had 3 rooms booked at pretty good prices I went back to yahoo.travel.com just for kicks and found that there was a 50% of special for rooms at Park Tahoe Inn if you booked through their site. I called Christina back and she double checked my claim and said she would match the price off yahoo.com . With this new discount, I was now getting my 3 rooms (1 Superior King and 2 economies) all at the same rate for cheaper than my original Superior King room per night!  I was also able to change my reservations to 1 night since I wasn't able to head up to the mountains a day earlier anymore. The best part of all of this was... upon arrival, Christina told me she had upgraded all 3 of my rooms to Superior Kings and they were still all the same price! Yay!

Park Tahoe Inn gets 4 stars for quality. The rooms are clean, a good size and beds very comfy. Our bathroom had some issues... the toilet handle was broken and all the water in the shower in all three rooms seemed to get hot and cold on its owns. There is a parking fee per car per night and if you stay on the side of the hotel we stayed on, parking fills up quick. If you don't get a spot on your side, you have to walk around the whole complex to get back to your room.

Overall, I would stay here again because of cost, location and quality.

This was a cute little place.
They have tempurpedic mattresses.  It was so comfortable!! I was so lazy to get up the next day because the bed was that comfortable.  They have a mini fridge, a coffee maker, a safe and HBO.  The closet was kind of small though.  It was kind of hidden and did not have a door.
The service was excellent.  Check in and check out was fast.  They gave you discounts for water activities: kayaks, stand up paddleboards, boats, jet skis, etc.  They also gave us a 10% discount for Driftwood Cafe.  We went the next day for brunch and it was PACKED.  So, we ended up not going.
The room was quaint and my favorite part was the shower!! I want to make my shower like that!! It was a tan kind of tile. It was very relaxing.
They also gave you free beach passes to a walking distance beach.
Park Tahoe Inn is close to everything.  It is across the street from Heavenly Village and a few blocks away from Harrah's and Harvey's.  You can walk to anything.
    I would definitely go again.

They were very accommodating! Travis at the front desk was very nice, helping, and professional. He let us check in early because of the situation we were in and I couldn't have been more grateful.

Very nice, clean rooms. Pool is very nice. Free wi-fi. I would say the best deal in Tahoe and the convenience of all the shops and places to eat at the Heavenly village are great as well.

Look forward to letting all my year around guests know of this great place.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. What looked like a cute, simple room in the picture ended up being a nightmare.

    -Lamps that didn't work
-Fridge that actually froze everything inside of it, ruining our piece of wedding cake
-Vending machines that continually take money
    -Internet that RARELY works
    -Snotty front desk assistance
    -Ungodly dusty
    - so called "ample continental breakfast" consisted of Costco mini muffins and cereal. We got there at 7:30am, it's not like we missed the "good stuff".
-Overall EXTREMELY overpriced for what it is.

To top it all off, a few days after we leave, my husband sees an additional $300 dollar charge on his card. When I call, I was put through to "Rosa", who claimed she was a manager. She tells me that two people confirmed our room smelled like marijuana when we checked out, and that it was for "cleaning fees". Well, we don't smoke. In my field, that would cost me my job and reputation. I told her we lit candles in the morning (it's my honeymoon! We were doing "honeymoon activities"), and that all it takes to get that smell out is cracking a window.

She became increasingly hostile, raising her voice and talking over me. When I told her that this was unbecoming of a manager and sounded like a scam, she actually hung up on me.

I am in the middle of filing a report with the Better Business Bureau (there are already 2 filed within the past 36 months against Park Tahoe from other people who received similar treatment), and because of the treatment I've received from the parent company, Jolie Quest, in trying to resolve this, I'm filing a lawsuit.

No matter how beautiful and fun my honeymoon was outside of this, my experience at Park Tahoe has forever tarnished memories I CANNOT get back.

Sleeping in your car in the Safeway parking lot across the street is preferable to staying here.

I went to Tahoe for the Memorial Day Weekend and my girlfriend made a room reservation at Park Tahoe Inn. The Inn is located across the street from Heavenly, within walking distance of a Starbucks and several shopping centers.

We stayed in a Economy Room with 2 Queen beds. The bed were Tempur-Pedic (which was great) but since it was a room with 4 girls, it was difficult to enjoy the bed sharing the bed with someone. But they were the bed was great just sitting on it. :)

Noise level - There must have been a couple next to us and above us that was fighting or having noisy sex, b/c I could hear them stomping around through the walls.

    Overall, my stay was good.
We were able to utilize the hot tub and relax. There was some blue/green dye in the water that made our nails and cuticles turn blueish-green. (Minus a star) It took 2 days to get the color out of my nails. Also, since we had 4 girls in a room there was an extra $50 charge added on. Free wifi in the room, computer in the hotel lobby, and complementary coffee and hot chocolate :)

Okay went back again, and for the price they charge you don't get anything.

This time around both ice makers were out of order, and they basically said "tough titty".

Also we left a pillow there (a king size, clearly not one of theirs) and they basically gave us the "tough titty" line again.

So I'm done with this place.  Peace out.

We stay here every time we come to South Lake Tahoe. The rooms are incredibly well priced. Beds and pillows are fantastic. The rooms are simple, and although nothing to write home about, are typically relatively clean. It's a so-so hotel that for some reason, has gotten us to return countless times. Walking distance to the casinos, stores, Starbucks, etc.

I know its not fair to give Park Tahoe 1 star, but I can't go any lower.
We had a group booking with about 10 rooms or so booked.  When 4 of us arrived after the 3:30 check in, our rooms were not ready.  After getting our room after 4pm, we found our bedding on both beds dirty.  Fridge smelled like sour milk.  For 4 people we got 2 towels, 1 hand towel, 1 wash cloth and 1 bar of soap.  The sink area was much bigger than the standard rooms (we had a suite) but the 1 outlet was barely out of reach to dry air.  The lighting in the bathroom was much brighter than the make up area, but no mirror in the bathroom.  The Wi Fi was really slow and most channels on th tv were getting no signal.
The next day when the room was cleaned, they only gave us 3 towls but no wash or hand towels and no extra soap.
My sisters room was the same with the exception they left her room opened, not shut all the way.  Luckily nothing was stolen.
If you are going to spend money on a good hotel, don't do that at Park Tahoe.

I stayed here with my fiancee for a week of skiing at Heavenly...our stay was anything but!

The first room we were given smelled like wet dog and was small. We moved to a room on the second floor that was only slightly better. Small rooms with barely of a trickle as a shower.

We tried to sleep at night, but the walls are so thin we could hear every person walk by your room, every car drive into the parking lot, every conversation, tv show, fight and even when our neighbor was worshiping the "porcelain god"! The refrigerator was extremely loud, the bathroom windows raddled, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the jacuzzi, well it was broken and will not be fixed until mid-2011!

Overall this is an overpriced MOTEL! Don't bother, STAY AWAY!

This hotel was terrible. In our room the fridge didn't work at first, then it decided to come back to life for a while. The remote had tape holding the batteries in place. THE TV TURNED OFF RANDOMLY THE ENTIRE STAY. Had to keep turning it back on just to have it shut off again 20 minutes later. The iron didn't work. When we checked in the room didn't even have towels by the sink, when they cleaned it the next day they didn't restock toiletries or cups. There was only one ice machine and it was by the front desk. They charge a $12 a night "resort fee". I don't know what for, there isn't even a pool. You can tell there used to be because it's on some of the maps of the property. Only redeeming quality is it has a nice bed, still doesn't make it worth it.

The location is decent and the bed quality was nice, but the poor hospitality and noisy environment is why I can't recommend this hotel.

On the first night we were awakened at around 2 AM by the sound of a very loud industrial washing machine, and again at 8 AM by what seemed to be an earthquake but turned out to be a very large industrial dryer.  The front desk staff seemed completely unaware and incredulous that it was happening.  The next day some snooping revealed the laundry room right next to our room.  Why would a hotel run large equipment overnight?

Then there was the issue with the microwave.  We asked to use the microwave behind the front desk to heat some food, and they said it would be $5 to rent a microwave for our room.  What the hell?  Either have microwaves in the rooms or don't, and either let people use a common one or don't, but to charge $5 is just insulting.  We already had to pay a $12 "resort fee".

Also, upon check out the guy just took the card and swiped it and handed us a pen, and didn't ask anything about how our stay was or anything.  Overall, the service was really lacking and they had very little hospitality for their guests.  I'm not asking for all smiles, but just some attitude other than 'I completely don't care about you'

You stay here because of the location and the price. If you don't care about a TV book an economy for 40 bucks a night. Best deal in South Lake Tahoe.

They have free WiFi , parking and a swimming pool. The best thing about this place is the location. You can walk to Heavenly or the beach in under 2 min.

Don't expect high class resort but expect clean room with a great location for a fair price.

Pros: location, location, location ... right at the heart of South Lake Tahoe, across the street from the ski lift.

    - The rooms are absolutely filthy, esp. the floor was so dirty that I actually had to use one of the bed sheets to cover them.
    - The noise level is intolerable, and as majority of the rooms face the parking lot, you will hear cars go in and out ... not to mention drunken people coming in and out ... all night.
    - The staff, although seemingly friendly ... more chatty than friendly ... were not helpful or responsive to my needs.  When I'd asked one of them where the breakfast room was, she only looked at me with a blank stare as to say "duh".
    - The so-called pool and hot tub that some reviewers rave about are a bit bigger than a bath tub, that's if you don't mind sharing them with bunch of drunken middle aged strangers.

This place is really awful. This is not an inn, not a traveller's hotel, not a rustic B&B as the name might suggest, just pure MOTEL hell. If all you're looking for is a bed and a parking spot...you could probably do better and for less - fancy paying for outdoor self-parking and a "resort fee" for a broken hot tub and emptied pool next to the parking lot on the side of the highway?

Our room was dark and cramped. The room we checked-in to smelled like a public restroom. I guess they accommodate pets which must be nice, but since I'm not a dog, I don't want a room that smells like a kennel. The fridge was so loud we had to unplug it to tear it out of our nightmares. I don't care what you say about Tempurpedic mattresses, they are an acquired taste (and not in a good way like beer) and if you can't sleep at night after hitting the slopes, it's not much of a "vacation" it's more like prison. It also doesn't help that you can't get a decent shower to wash the rest of this experience out of your brain. I listened as my poor husbanded bumped and "Ouch!"ed his way through every painful shower.

If you're hoping to enjoy your time at Heavenly I would suggest investigating other options. Other motels will probably give you the same for less. Decent hotels may charge you more but will not ruin your vacation!

Through the years I've probably stayed there about ten times.  They're certainly overpriced but that's true with most Tahoe hotels.  However after two horrible experiences there, we will NEVER go back!

We had a large group and several rooms reserved for a New Years trip up to the mountains.  It was a great trip up until we got a call from hotel management accusing us of trashing one of our rooms.  They accused us of breaking a TV , destroying several lamps, and punching hole through one of the walls.  We tried to assure them there must have been a mistake but they weren't having it.  They told my girl friend her credit card had already been charged for the damage and that we were "lucky" they didn't involve the police.  So part of our group (already an hour away) had to turn around and drive back to the hotel to witness the damage first hand.  Upon arriving hotel management realized that they had "accidentally" mixed up room numbers, a mistake which they simply blamed on their maids.  Wow!  They gave us a weak apology but said we could stay free (2 nights) the next time we were in town.  Against my better judgement we tried to take advantage of their offer, only to find out upon check-in that our free nights didn't include weekends.  Needless to say we won't be going back there again.  What an absolute embarrassing way to treat guests (aka your customers).  One star might be too generous.

*I subtract a star because they charge you Resort Fee ($12/night) This fee helps us to maintain their Parking Lots,Laundry products used to clean the rooms, and Pool &  Jacuzzi...I would be fine with that but they have 2 pools and 2 jacuzzis and only one of each works. The way the hotel is set up is one pool and jacuzzi is for one side and one pool and jacuzzi is for the other side. You could use ether side but you have to walk all the way around or walk on the side walk (on the main road)
in front of the hotel to the other side in your swim clothes.

The ONLY reason to stay is location. You can walk almost anywhere and if it were a snowy powder day, great!

As others mentioned, the $12/night Resort Fee is ridiculous. Apparently the fee is for Eco products (Dial Soap? Really?) and fire pit maintenance. Fair enough but $12 per night?

There was a drunken brawl in the parking lot which didn't make the experience any classier. We won't be back...unless it's a deep powder day and no other place is available...I mean NO other place...
Bottom line: dark, small, outdated, and noisy but in a good location.

Park Tahoe Inn is, well, okay.

It seems like they renovated the old building (they have some sort of award up in their lobby about having the best renovation in the area--woohoo?) While some of the amenities of the place are nice - the Tempurpedic bed & stylish bathroom, for instance. However, when I looked at the details of the place - the shower door handle was dangling because it was missing a screw and the rubber along the edges of the shower door was falling off. These items didn't make the room complaint-worthy, because it still allowed the shower to be usable. However, it does show negligence by the maintenance, since they go into these rooms between residents to clean. Was the dangling handle unnoticeable?

The location of Park Tahoe Inn is pretty awesome. It's right across the street from a grocery plaza and the Heavenly gondola. That's pretty cool - considering that after a day of driving, you don't have to drive anywhere.

The staff of the Park Tahoe Inn was really pleasant, too. They were very professional and polite - just how I like my customer service.

The only reason why I bring up the falling apart bathroom is because they also charge you a "$12 Resort Fee." What IS a resort fee, anyways? I've stayed in hotels and motels, and both provide a place to sleep, shower, crappy TV, and maybe a mini fridge. This hotel did nothing out of the ordinary or resort-like. My assumptions are that they couldn't afford their renovations, and need the "Resort Fee" to pay off their bills.

    In summary:
Motel = Good location. Nice place to stay overall.
    Resort Fee = Sucks.

Park Tahoe Inn switched management/owners since the last time we stayed here. Other changes include mattresses and toiletries.

The mattresses are now really firm, memory-foam mattresses -- which are good if you are a back-sleeper but less comfortable if you're a side-sleeper.

The coconut-lime-verbena Bath and Body Works toiletries have been replaced by Gilchrist and Soames of London luxury-products-for-hotels toiletries.

So... lots of changes. More dusty and allergy-aggravating than before. The free WiFi is mediocre. Three stars out of five.

I really like the Park Tahoe, and plan to stay there as much as possible.  They do have a $12 resort fee (this is a motel--a nice motel, not a resort).  Make sure to calculate that in to your final price.  I'd say it's worth about $80-$90 incl resort fee + tax during ski season.  Maybe even a little more during peak season.

The location is great for walking to the casinos, or even to the ski lifts.  The Temurpedic beds are fun too.  Now if only they had mirrors on the ceiling.

The hot tub is good.  My girlfriend and I think we saw a couple getting frisky in the pool while we were there in the summer, so make sure to put in your Neuva Ring before hopping in!

Watch out! 12$ per night resort fee which pays for your 'incidentals' and the fact that it is a 'green hotel'. This is really the straw that broke the camel's back; remove this BS fee and automatically gain a star.
General mayhem from the casinos spilling into the parking lot is commonplace during the night.
Bathroom was 10-20 degrees colder than the room (single pane windows likely the cause).

I would give this place a 0 if there was such option.  We payed $160 for one night just to be given the most dirtiest room imaginable.  There were stains all over the floor.  The shower room was practically shoulder to shoulder.  The tv didnt work.  I figured since I'm only staying 1 night, I'll live through it.

Upon returning home, in addition to our Expedia room fee, there were 2 additional charges close to $200 posted on my account.  When it was brought to their attention, were they proactive or thankful about it? Nope.  First girl said she doesn't have the authorization to do anything.  Her manager will call me back.  Waited 10 hours still no call.  When I called to follow up. Oh it's been reverse except for the second transaction which I have to wait a week. No apology, nothing...no thank you for bringing this to our attention so we can retrain or look into in case your card was compromise.  This place is joke!

Place is clean and pretty decent, the reason I don't give them higher rating is because I booked my room online through Orbitz and it was confirmed at 64.00, Then when I got there, they added a 12.00 resort fee. For what? There was nothing spectacular about the place, especially since the people in the room next door, had a screaming brat the whole time we were there. Which thank gawd it was only one night. It was very convenient as far as location goes, two blocks from the casinos. All in all I would stay there again, if they got rid of that 12.00 fee, or at least were upfront about it when reserving a room.

In Lake Tahoe it's all about location, and this place is well located. It's about a block and a half or so to the casinos, next door to Apple Bee's but not in a 'I"m staying in the parking lot of Apple Bees' way.

The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are set up in the least user friendly way possible and pretty small. I had to duck a little to get under the shower, and I'm only 5'4. Our water pressure was great, but my sister in the next room said she felt like they were showering in a drinking fountain. Not sure what deal is with that, if it was just her room, or just ours. We stayed upstairs, which I highly recommend if you stay here. The floors are very creaky and I feel really bad for anyone downstairs, My husband and I try to be super considerate of things like that (you know how karma is) and I was walking as lightly as possible, but the I'm sure that it sounded like we were elephants to anyone below us. Some reviews said they could hear everything in the rooms next to them but we couldn't hear anything in the rooms around us.

The lobby is nice and they have coffee and water available all day. The staff was very friendly.

Note: They charge a $12 resort fee on top of the room rate. I'm not sure how this is decided (if the city or owners decide what is a resort), so maybe they do not have a choice, but I assure you this is NOT a resort. It's a motel. A nice one as far as motels go, but a motel none the less. That's kind of annoying.

They do have fridges in the room if that is important to you, the coffee maker and coffee are not worth the space they take up in the room, but Starbucks is right across the street. King size temperpedic beds are nice, pillows are not. If you are a hot sleeper (like I am) these beds to you no favors because they are hot beds.  It was high 67 low 28 while we were there so this was not a huge deal for me. We just opened the bathroom window for some cool air.

Over all it was a decent place to stay on a budget, but with the added fees and taxes the $40/night rate comes out to $59, just FYI.

The only two things they have going for them is the temperpedic beds and across the street from the shops. Thought I got a great deal until checking out - nearly $50 in taxes and fees!!  Seriously, just add the "resort fee" to the price of the room on the front end; you appear to be nickel-and-diming your guests.  Oh, and, THIS AIN'T NO RESORT.

    - In a proper resort, the sink would not leak and create a giant puddle in the bathroom.

    - In a proper resort, there are remotes for TVs (I don't have TV at home, so when I go to a hotel I want to be as lazy as humanly possible - getting my butt up to change the channel really mashes my lazy plans).

    - In a proper resort, the hot water pressure doesn't fluctuate to the point you're worried you'll be stuck with a head full of shampoo residue, or have second degree burns.

    - In a proper resort, the bathroom windows are rusted out.

    - In a proper resort, the sink faucet isn't circa 1970s crappy apartment quality.

The beds are seriously comfortable and ALMOST make up for the fees and above grievances.

Also, walkable to many shops, restaurants and casinos.

Doubt I'll stay here again; just can't get over their "resort fee."

I think for the price, service, friendliness, this place is great. For cleanliness, and comfort I would probably have to knock off a star or two.

We arrived late for a weekend of boarding here, the location is fantastic since it's right across from Heavenly so we could just take our boards to walk across the street but generally speaking the parking lot is epic, the pool is dirty and sometimes unkept and really this is just a sleeping box like Germaine N. said.

For a sleeping box, its' great, the front desk checks you in quickly, checks you out even quicker, allow you to park anywhere to find space since they know parking is a major issue and they're always, always friendly. There is hot coffee in the "lobby" and they do serve some form of breakfast / snack in the morning.

The bed was a little rough, and a sheets a little bit "used too many times" feel ... and the floors ... let's say we decided to keep our sandals on. The bathrooms had an interesting shower head and the only thing that kept me stuck in the room was the cooler and the thought that we only paid about $80 for the whole weekend (yup 2 days!). It's really not horrible when you think about it, but you definitely have to be willing to put up with why its $80 for the whole weekend.

Will totally be back next season.

The location is unbeatable right on the main strip, walking distance to Raley's, movie theater, casinos and many other restaurants and cafés. The mattress was memory foam which was absolutely the best feature in the room. Very comfortable!! The staff was really helpful. Free wifi to the rooms. I would definitely stay here again. Oh and about the $12 service fee that people are throwing a fit over, somehow dropping $500 at the casino or buying  $100 ski ticket is justifiable but a $12 fee to be walking distance to everything is an issue?? The good: located close to Heavenly, shops, Starbucks, and restaurants. The temperpedic bed was cozy.
The bad: very very small rooms, dated fuzzy box tv, not-so-friendly staff, and a motel style set up.
The ugly: peeling paint, old moldy shower head, loose shower knobs, and limited bathroom products. The worst... $12 resort fee!?! (But it's not a resort?!?) she said it was for "organic amenities" and parking!?! Next time ill pay an extra $40 and just stay at Harrahs!

Do not stay at this hotel. I have now stayed 3 times and will not again. Each time the base rate I booked the room at and the base rate I was charged after my say went up significantly (not counting taxes and fees, of course). Additionally, the rooms all smell like cigarette smoke, are outdated, have no microwaves, and there is no pool or spa as advertised. Finally, twice now housekeeping maids have opened our door without knocking (the last time catching me half dressed) before my checkout time. Again, do not stay here. I'm giving it one star PURELY because of their great location. That's it. But there are other hotels around in the same location that are much better - so you'd be smart to pick one of those instead.

My Husband and I have utilized the Park Tahoe Inn for a few services so I'll review each one:

For Hotel itself: I would give a 5/5 star rating. The hotel is a little expensive, but it's clean, up to date, and is on South Lake Tahoe Blvd, so its walking distance to everything which is awesome. Would stay here again. Beds are all new Tempurpedic.

For mass booking/room block for wedding: would give a 4/5 star rating. They gave us an Ok discount for booking lots of rooms for our wedding guests to use, but they got our payment amount confused a handful of times and were going to short us about $250-500 on our deposit refund and kept making the same mistake, finally we got it figured out. The guests said they liked the hotel.

For use of the Tamarak room: I would definitely recommend use of this room. We reserved it for our wedding rehearsal dinner and again the following morning to use for the groom and groomsmen to get ready before the wedding. We had a lot of people coming in and out (around 40) and it fit everyone comfortably. I brought my own music player and speakers and they have a kitchen and fridge you can utilize.

I like this place a lot and will return.

I'm quite dissapointed in the Hotel, or INN as I should say, and I hate to leave a three star review because I expected so much better for the price I paid. I came up here yesturday for a concert at Montbleu and knew I should have stayed at the Montbleu. The only thing that kept me from staying at any other hotel or resort was that this INN had tempurpedic beds!!!!!! My sleep was out of this word, one of the best sleeps I ever had! Maybe that's why everything else in the room looks like something from Motel 6.

I originally looked on this website and saw a steep price of $112 per night but managed to book on AmericanAir.com and get a room for $20 less! (No coupon needed). That included the silly resort fee. I guess you could say I got a good bargain, but quite pricey for a night.

Do not be fooled by the outside appearnace. While it does look beautiful, you are looking at the front desk/lobby drive in area. The entire INN is quite beautiful but remember, it's what's in that really matters! My room was like a mouse-pad. I could hear a Chinese Gang Bang next door through the thin walls, stains and marks throughout the room, and the TV barely had any channels. The only thing I liked besides the beds was that I woke up to snow!

The front desk service was quick and helpful, and the floors were very clean. I'll give them that-most employees can't seem to keep up and look fresh 24/7! Also, if you're going to be out for the entire day, like myself, and just come to stay for a sleep (on their tempurpedi matresses), then stay here. The beds were so comfortable!

I wouldn't recommend staying here. They charge a bit too much, and the only reason they do is because it's apart of the resort, and probably because It's so beautiful on the outside. Then again, I could be judgemental.

Stay elsewhere. I'm sure the motel 6 down the road for $40 a night was much nicer, and had thicker walls.

Rating is based on the price I paid- and yes i booked directly with them.  $120 + $25 pet fee  per night because of a holiday weekend in the middle of ski season.  Still, I would have expected more for this price.

Pros - good location close to town.  Bed was comfortable.

Cons - WiFi worked once the 3 days I was there.  I brought this up twice and each time they said they would "reset the router" - would work for about 5 minutes then either slow to a crawl - 5 minutes to load a news page- or just not work at all after a few minutes.

Noisy - walls are thin and uninsulated and  doors were squeaky loud so I could hear the neighbors opening and closing the doors.  I could also hear all the outside noise of people talking, driving in and out of the parking lot.

Uneven heating - Again this is probably the insulation. In addition the windows are older single pane windows so the room cools quickly and the windows collect all the moisture in the room.    It was warm on one side of the room but the other side was cool, and the bathroom was about 15 degrees colder because there is no heating ducts.

No microwave - No coffee maker.   This is fine for a $50 a night motel, but not for the price I paid.

Cramped - I wanted a double queen and the gave me a double queen - stuffed into a room meant for a single.

TV - I got 6 channels.  No pay per view.

What can I say except disappointing. We stayed here for years ago and we had a very pleasant stay which is why we came back. The water in the bathroom was either scalding hot or freezing cold. They showed pictures of a pool with no longer existed. They let us to believe that we had access to a heated pool which was untrue. The beach access was no longer right down the street but an 8 to 10 minute drive away. Overall it was okay for the price the location was good but we won't be coming back.

    Listen to the negative reviews!!!!
This place may be cheap and close to the casinos but you will not sleep at night from all the noise. The walls are seriously paper thin. You can hear people having a casual indoor conversation. Not even yelling but a conversation in a normal tone. The worst is when people come back from the casinos and bars at 3 am. You can hear everything. No early check-in, even if it's an hour early. 'RESORT FEE" which is for, well, I have no idea for what and neither do the staff. The only good thing is the location which I gave a star for but trust me, go some place else and pay a little extra. At least you'll get some sleep at night.

We took a weekend ski trip to South Lake Tahoe and stayed at the Park Tahoe Inn.  I got a good deal on Expedia (~$85/night) but the regular rate was something like $140/night.  The only perks of the hotel are the location (which is right across the street from Heavenly and walking distance to the casinos) and the bed.  Most everything else was pretty crappy.

Our room was on the second floor, right in front of the staircase, so we were woken up every time another guest walked up or down the stairs.  This was especially horrible in the mornings when families were tromming around in ski boots trying to get out at 7AM for some reason.  Also, the heater unit in the room was horribly loud.  Every time it clicked on at night it woke us up.  Eventually we turned it off, and our second night we went to the front desk and got two extra blankets.

The room was pretty small, but I don't really care about that.  What was annoyingly small was the shower.  The shower head was mounted at about 5'5" (tops) so it did a great job of spraying my neck.  In order to wash my hair I had to duck down in some awkward position.  Oh, and room service came in and took our dirty towels, but failed to replace them.  That was a nice surprise the next morning.  Maybe that's part of the $12/ night "eco fee" ??

Anyway, I could go on-and-on about how the "year round outdoor hot tub" does not actually exist, or how the paint was peeling off the walls, or how the TV was probably purchased in 1993, or how the free wifi is so slow it might as well not exist, but I think you get the picture.  And, I don't think I would have minded so much if the "Inn" (read: Motel) had portrayed itself accurately in its literature or website.  Expectations can be a b**** sometimes.

Overall, good location and I would come back if I had my dog with me - but won't be back again otherwise.

Yep this is the best deal for guests with pets.  My husband and I brought our dog for a weekend in Tahoe.  She loves the snow so we could not think to leave her at home.  We stayed here before in a standard room.  This time, we were able to upgrade to a Jr. Suite for $119 (includes a 1x $75 pet fee).

The room was spacious and I love that they have the Tempurpedic mattress.  I had the best 2 nights sleep in a long time. The only complaint I have is no brearkfast included with the room and the shower is small compare to most hotels.

The location is very convenient.  It's literally a short walk (1 block) to Harrah's casino.  Walking just diagonally across to the Heavenly gondola; no driving needed.  The best part is, we were able to bring our 45# doggie with us to enjoy the weekend. There is a lack of place for her to relief herself on site, but we found an open field just down the street she was able to run and be off leash.

Over all, the booking process was great and the staff are very nice.  I will defnitely come back and stay here again.

With a few fixes this hotel could have easily scored 4 stars or above.

During our weekend stay we experienced two things about this place that we found superb. First, the staff. They were incredibly friendly and accomodating. Second, the tempurpedic king sized mattress. That was a joy.

Now for the bad, the sink in our bathroom was obviously leaking. There was a massive puddle in the corner of the bathroom when we came in the room. Also, the room was hot and moist. The moisture we assume was caused by the leak. I prefer to enter a hotel room and not be assaulted by an offensive change of environment. This put me off the room. They really should have considered this when decided to rent the room to someone.

The other negative aspect was when my girlfriend and I came back from the lake with the hopes of taking a quick dip in the pool. We were notified that the pool was closed due to an "accident" but the hot tub was available. We went over to the pool area and it was obvious someone had vomitted inside of the pool. Now, I understand that this type of stuff happens but I can't help but ask myself why it took them several days to have someone clean the pool. Gross.

One more minor negative note...be prepaired to pay a "resort fee" for rooms booked on other websites. What exactly their resort fee included with a vomit filled pool...I'm unsure.

All in all the hotel is in a great location and I'm sure the other rooms are in good shape. You can easily walk to the casinos which is exactly what we did. With an overhaul and a bit of consideration this place could easily get a four star rating...though that probably won't happen by me since the next time I'm in Lake Tahoe I won't be staying there.

We used to be returning customers for over 2 seasons, the staff was great and they always had good rates. Only up until recently they got a new manager, new staff and everything has gone down hill. The management is overly dramatic, they aren't as accommodating, they aren't friendly and are ok with doing the bare minimum. The last 3 times we have stayed we specifically told them to note we would be coming late and they forget, or don't turn the heater on so we had a warm room to come too (they used to do this)

We will not be returning to park Tahoe anymore, the only thing it has going for it is that it's right across the street from the gondola but now I'd be willing to walk a mile instead of staying here

I booked a last minute reservation on Expedia. I thought I was getting an excellent deal at $55 a night. The room was clean, beds comy, and staff friendly. I loved the fire pit which was outside our door. I didn't like the fact that there was a $12 resort fee. I didn't realize this at the time of booking, and that is why this review is 3 stars. I mean really $12? For what? The bathrooms were outdated, but they were clean. I would consider staying here again, if they got rid of that ridiculous fee.

The customer service was horrible, during check-in, check-out, and in-between. The front desk avoided every opportunity to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The room was small; amenities were limited. The bathroom was confined. The shower water pressure was "low flow" at best; worst would be a fast drizzle. The only saving grace was the temper-pedic mattress thus the star.

My weekend rate was $189 plus taxes & resort fees (WTH?!?). It rounded out to about $230. For that amount, the value wasn't there. There are two other hotels close by. I recommend you evaluate those choices when choosing to stay.

We stayed at this place last weekend.  The pics online looked great. But, when when we got to the place, the room had the most disgusting stains on the carpet, i did not even walk around barefooted let alone my two yr old . The carpet appeared  to have some air bubbles trapped or was coming undone in some areas, it was disgusting.   The shower was too small, cant even extend arms in the shower, no tub .   And lastly, whats up with the 1980-1990s tube tvs?    Get with the program and get some plasma or flat screen tvs.   I hadn't seen one of those tube tvs in a while but you still have them... Thx for the 1990s flashbacks.. Also.  Whats up with the $12 fee?  So you're paying the hotel rate plus a fee ?? Pros were the fact that we were x the street from starbucks ( youre welcome starbucks for the plug.  Not that you need it).   I dont think ill be staying here again. No bueno!

Essentially the $12.50 per night resort fee is the price of the "free" wireless Internet, which works but is very slow. From looking at all other reviews I must clear something up. Their pipes burst and they filled their pool, if at the time of your stay it said pool and you were absolutely set on using the pool when your in "Lake" Tahoe, then you should have called them before booking. On another note this is not the kind of hotel I would plan to stay at for your honeymoon. For $12.50 I would have rather used the faster Data package included with my phone plan

We booked this hotel for our new year trip at Tahoe.

(Actually, ONLY) Good part about this hotel is the location: Walking distance to Heavenly ski resort, Burger King, StarBucks, Restaurants, Plaza for your food and gear for your stay.
Due to location benefit, you might be able to save ~$25 if you are going to ski at Heavenly and choose to walk from hotel instead paying Heavenly $25 max a day parking (or ~$4/hr if my memory serves me right)

$12 mandatory hotel fee for absolutely zero nothing.
Pets are only welcome if you pay $25 for them. Come on, Vegas 5 stars only asks for $50 and you are a motel.
    !!!!!!The MOST unbelievable problem!!!!!
We booked this hotel from AMEX, when we booked all other agents (expdia, priceln, etc) all shared with same HIGH price indicating this hotel's regular price was $43x.xx (yep, $400 above dollars) and was 50% on sale to $22x.xx. (It was during ski season), and when we checked in at front desk, there were another couple walk-in check in, and front desk said to them the price is 120.xx ?!
I asked the front desk and she said you did not book through us...C'mon, let's not pretend you are not the one that pass your online price to agents. I consider this as extremely unacceptable and inappropriate, if not fraud.
Other minor issues, overheat heater, dirty towels and floor, old shower, etc.

I would not stay here regardless the obvious location perk.

Interior-wise it's just like a regular motel.  The carpet was wrinkled, the bathroom and decor is a bit dated, but everything works and the room was comfortable and warm.  I slept like a baby.  People might complain about other things but I didn't get sick from staying in the room, and I got a full night's sleep before shooting a wedding the whole next day.  What more can I ask for?

This is a motel; all the doors are outside. The double queen room was too small for a family of 4. One light was missing a bulb, the office was around the building from where you normally drive your car up for registration, the bed spreads were dingy, closest place to walk your dog is on the street, the beds may be Tempurpedic, but the pillows are Walmart, and the walls are paper thin.  The extra fees make this motel $12/night more expensive than advertised.  There are not many dog friendly options in the area, but if you don't have a dog there are better choices.

I'll give this place 2 stars the beds out of this world the pillows out of this world here's the kicker the hotel room was
Like a postage stamp there was no backing on the tv remote there were amenities mentioned that we're not there such as the pool and the mineral spa and not to mention the continental breakfast I've had better experience at a motel 6 and to think this is lake Tahoe why the hell would you offer these amenities on your website and on hotels.com if you don't have these amenities and the final straw was there is a $12.00 fee they don't tell you about I will defiantly stay elsewhere next time I come up one that has a pool or a spa and doesn't false advertise on what they have

on a updated note i spoke to william powers the gm of this place who also runs the park tahoe aspen inn and 2 other properties one in carmel california and the other in utah he was very understanding very professional and appologetic upon my discomforts he proceeded to offer me a %25 discount on my next stay and also is going to waive my $12.00 resort fee that his brings the sour taste in my mouth to kind of a null taste im on the edge about the stay because ive seen other places around offer more amenities at a lower price but i do have to admidt the bed is kinda making me want to stay here again but all in all they did make it better but when i called they did advise they dont have any microwaves but could provide one for a extra 5 dollars a night

I came here recently for a getaway weekend with my boyfriend. Overall, this place was alright for the hotels.com price of $55 a night. Anymore than that would be rediculous.

-Convenient location, just a few blocks away   from excitement.
    -Tempur pedic beds
-Rachel at the front desk was wonderful and polite. She helped us handle the fact that hotels.com double charged us.
    -Free parking

-Very small bathrooms, with a oddly angled shower head. Anyone over 5'7 would not fit. The hot and cold water would drastically change in the middle of a shower. Outdated
-Wifi never worked. We called to tell them about it and to be fair they did offer a room change for us, but we were already settled in.
-Painted shut windows, personally I like to get fresh air, and I couldn't.
-No bath tub :( just a personal favorite of mine

My stars are for the customer service. The hotel itself looked pretty on the outside but didn't really live up to that on the inside. Very basic hotel that is good if you are looking simply for a place to sleep that's close to a lot at a small price (if you book on hotels.com , expedia, etc)but then that website screws up and double charges you.

Room service was friendly as well, made sure my room was always spotless and restocked whenever I would return to the room. We stayed at this inn last weekend. It's beautiful at night with the lights it makes it look so festive. We liked that it was in walking distance of all the shops and they didn't charge us for parking. The funniest part was my partner and I were joking about how in Las Vegas most of the hotels have a snack basket or snack bar and charge outrageous amounts for them and that it would be nice to get something complimentary...this is as we were walking in...then I look and to my surprise there was actually a complimentary snack basket from the staff thanking us for choosing them...very small but left a impact enough to yelp them. We'd stay here again.

Close to the lake and lots of bike rental places. Didn't care for the 12 dollar resort fee. No pool. Slow room cleaning staff. No coffee inside the room. Overly priced during the holidays. Was looking for a quick place to stay during a spur of the moment trip. I booked the room through their web site. Fairly simple what doesn't make any sense to me is the resort fee. Huh? This is not a resort. The place looks nice from the outside but that is about as far as it goes.  Once you get inside everything looks cheap and outdated. The bathroom door was not square. So, in order to shut the door you had to slam it shut. No microwave or coffee maker in the room (there is a Starbucks across the street).  I should have paid the extra $75 and stayed at the Marriott.
Although this place would be low on the list for recommendation, if there was nothing else available I would stay here. But, I would more than likely pay more money to stay somewhere nicer.

Location (close to food, groceries, casinos, heavenly gondola).
    Bed was nice tempurpedic.
    Free parking
    Staff was friendly

    Smaller than lead to believe
    Strange fees
A bit on the dirty side
    No microwave

I wish I would have read trusty yelp before booking. Hotel was hard to find, no pools, dirty paint, gross carpet, old t.v. with no batteries, super tiny bathroom with cheap faucet, scary old window with dirty curtain, alternating freezing cold to scalding hot water in shower, no water pressure, moldy faucets that didn't turn off, and shower door and bathroom door that didn't shut. After trying to bend down and wash my hair, I'm five foot two, and hitting my elbow on the dirty, sandy soapdish in the shower that would barely fit a child, I was ready to scream. The hotel looks really nice from the outside. I would love the owner to spend one night in this hotel! I feel like I flushed $180 down their dirty toilet!

Not fancy, but I could care less, you want fancy pay double or triple and stay at harrahs or heavenly village.

My group decided to book Park Tahoe Inn because it was able to accommodate for six people for a decent price for a "spacious" room. We checked in rather late due to our snowboarding trip at Boreal and arrived at the inn about 10pm.

We booked the Double Queen Junior Suite that had two queen-sized beds and a sofa-bed. The room was not spacious at all. After pulling out the sofa-bed we had little space to walk around. Although we had two Tempurpedic beds, we drawn away from all the stains and hair sticking to the bed sheets. Gross! The pillows weren't covered with any pillow cases either. My group and I brought food/drinks to our room hoping to keep in the fridge, but soon found out that it our fridge wasn't working. The bathroom was rather ridiculous; it consisted of a long counter with only ONE sink. What a waste of good space! I had a difficult time showering in small stall; washing your hair was nearly impossible because my arms wouldn't extend without touching the shower glass. For any of those who are taller than 5'7"..good luck! Let's just say, I ended up walking around the room with my socks on because it felt really dirty. The walls seemed pretty thin since most of my group and I were waken multiple times throughout the night due the creaking noises from the rooms upstairs and the countless people talking outside.

What's decent about this place was the walking distance to Harrah's and Harvey's, the shopping center and the Heavenly Resort. This one night stay was enough for me to say pass. For anyone who is staying in Tahoe for more than a few nights, you might find a better place with better commodities.

Let's talk about the "resort" fee this place is charging. By no means is this a resort, or even close, and the sneaky few is clearly an opportunity to charge more and advertise for less.

So what does this resort fee seem to include?:

The wi-fi is advertised as free, so that cannot be part of the resort fee.

The old tube TV only gets about a dozen channels. The lobby has only a a selection of one cheap black tea.

They graciously supply you with 3 incredibly thin pillows for a king sized bed, but no, that can't be what makes it a resort.

Maybe it's the lack of conditioner in the shower? Or the lack of a fan in the bathroom that forces you to leave the window open during a cold winter.

Perhaps it is the hot tub that is always out of order. Or the fire pit that is never lit.
Maybe it is the epic view of the Apple Bees next door?

No room service. No welcome treats either.
There's no bottles water in the room. There's no bag service, so that can't be it. No one waiting to park your car either.

So what is this resort fee paying for that the base charge isn't already intended to cover?

We booked our room on Hotels.com because the price was reasonable and this place always looked nice when we drove by in previous visits to South Lake Tahoe. Unsure if we'd be able to stay for two nights, we made two separate reservations. When we arrived for check in, the front desk clerk was very nice and combined our reservations, so we could have the same room on both nights (one reservation was for two queens, one was for one king - which we preferred and received for both nights).

The room was plain but comfortable. We were very impressed with the Tempurpedic bed - which we have at home but were not expecting in a motel/inn. The lack of a flat screen tv made the room seem more outdated than it really was. The mini refrigerator was a nice bonus for keeping drinks and leftovers cold. It seemed odd that the shower had been updated with new tiles, but there was no tile backsplash behind the sink. Rather, some drywall with holes that needed patching. Also, the shower head was like something from the hardware aisle in the dollar store - very low flow and the knobs posed a challenge to regulate the water temperature.

There were not enough hangers in the closet - so bring your own if you're a clothes horse. There was a safe for valuables and an iron & ironing board.

The biggest issue we had was the fact the we received no fresh towels, our bed was not made and the waste baskets were not emptied after our first night - in other words, no maid service. We brought this to attention at check out and the "resort fees" ($12 a night) were waived. This was just fine with us because we could not figure out exactly what these resort fees were supposed to cover as this is not a resort.

We will stay here again, but next time with the understanding that we'll be at a two-and-a-half to three-star motel.

I would give it a 4 but the price is too much for what you're paying for. 100 ? Done. 160 and above for a room with an outdated tv, and sketchy shower that switches from freezing to scalding hot. Not happening. The bed seems like a tempurpedic, and I slept amazing. There was also a complementary welcoming basket with bottles of water, two muffins, juice box, and cereal box. That was awesome, did not expect that from them. It's the little things!!! Overall, good stay, clean, polite staff and quiet. Compared to some of the dumps with cockroaches and stained sheets charging 250 dollars, we got a good deal. Right in downtown, walking distance from shopping centers.

Dog friendly rooms at a great location. Across the street from Heavenly Village shopping center, walking distance from beach, and 10 mins drive from dog friendly activities.  *4 stars because carpet needs to be shampooed and shower stall was tight.

Counting last night, I've stayed here four times since they remodeled to their current look.  The staff and guests have always been friendly and quiet, but the location, remodel and "amenities" still don't merit any price above $100--period--and on this visit they said upfront they DO charge a $12 "resort fee."  (cough, choke!)

At the very end of 2010--again as a returning guest--I paid +/-$85 for the exact same room (in fact, the one next to the one I stayed in this time).  Inside and out they had then recently "remodeled" and while I have had only good nights' rest on their outstanding beds, I was sticker shocked at this last visit.  Tax, resort fee and all, a single (tiny) King room was quoted at $125 a night!!!!   I'm not guessing about EXACTLY what I'll receive for my money here and since I'm a returning guest, my price came down to $108 total, but other properties within the same neighborhood at the same quality level are about $20 lower on their search-result cost even before the extra $12 fee here.

Let me make plain that they're NOT a resort in any way you could ever define one.  They're a MOTEL--not a "hotel" with interior halls, but a MOTEL, with external walkways and your car parked right outside your door.  If you've ever wondered the difference, internal versus external halls is the definition splitter.

Resort fees are either misrepresentative or gouging in ALL cases--merely a way to show up at a lower price level within search results and still get a higher price, but now lots of non-resorts are charging the fee to game results.  I draw the line here, where ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is given in value for the fee.

I'll repeat that I've had NOTHING BUT A GOOD NIGHT'S REST HERE and for the price, the cosmetic paint job and shower tiling remodel they did is merely "okay" (the pictures here don't tell the real story) but not at $20 or so more than competitors AND then charge a $12 bullshit fee.  If it weren't for the $12 I'd still be pretty happy and have given them three stars.  That fee really pisses me off, and now that I am *really* familiar with the nearby properties, it's likely last night's stay will be my last.  I just don't like the "weasel factor" of bullshit fees, all other things being equal.

This place was our first attempt at affordable south lake tahoe.
For sleep: the heater was quiet white noise that produced plenty of heat.  The black out curtains really work.  The bed is pretty comfortable.
For other amenities: the shower is nice and hot and appears recently redone.  Iron and board in the room!

The downside: outlets are minimal and not near the bed.  Controlling the heat is tricky, it's on or off so at 1 am I had to shut it off, it must have been 90 degrees in there.  I also wish there was a microwave in the room, we brought our own dinner and had to wait for it to warm in the crockpot.

I would be happy with this place for $60 a night.  $100 is overpriced.

Great choice for a quick getaway. Great location directly across from Heavenly Village and a short stroll to the casinos. Our king room was small but recently remodeled. Very clean. I wish the heater had a built in thermostat it was either too hot or too cold and was quite noisy. I missed an in room coffee maker as well. Mini fridge, variety of personal care samples beyond the standard shampoos and a complementary welcome basket of snacks and drinks were a nice touch. I booked through a discount website when I checked in I was informed that the hotel will beat any advertised price by 15%

If you need wifi, DON'T stay here, shuts off every few minutes and clearly is not enough for a hotel, but maybe a house. If you do not need wifi then it was a great stay. Great price and perfect Location. Also the phones in the room clearly are not working. I press 0 to call the front desk and listen to ringing forever, multiple times. When I get out my cell phone and look up the number they answer right away.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Park Tahoe Inn on 3/7-3/8. We paid $84 for the room with no deposit required, which is a VERY good price for South Lake Tahoe considering that it was a weekend and it's so close to downtown. When we first arrived to check in, the man at the counter greeted us kindly and was very attentive. My boyfriend lives near Modesto and I am from Carson City, so we had to take separate vehicles. The man very kindly informed us that there was only one parking pass per reservation and gave us many different options for us to park the other car. After we received our room keys, we went up to the room to drop off our bags. The room was extremely clean and we were surprised to see the complimentary snack basket in the room. The bathroom was spotless and the towels and other toiletries were neatly organized. The Tempurpedic bed was so comfortable, we almost didn't want to wake up in the morning. The location is absolutely perfect! We didn't have to drive around at all to get to the casinos and shops downtown since they were all within a nice walking distance. Overall, we are extremely pleased with our stay. The staff at Park Tahoe Inn is amazing and we will definitely be back for our next trip to Tahoe!
My only complaint? The overall size of the room, which was a bit on the smaller side. But it still deserves 5 stars because I would plan on spending the majority of my vacation in South Lake out and about sightseeing rather than stay in a hotel room for the whole vacation.

Pro's: tempurpedic beds, blackout curtains, no alarm clock.

Con's: tempurpedic beds, blackout curtains, no alarm clock.

Amost slept through the wedding I was here for.

Basic amenities. Rooms are sparse and clean. No extra fluff. Free parking was a bonus. For the price, reasonable acommodations. Front desk is courteous but not especially warm. Overall not a bad place for a last minute booking for a weekend get-away.

Note: if you're planning to book through a hotel service- call the Park Tahoe directly. Then they don't have to pay the 3rd party a fee and sometimes you get a better deal.

The hotel is on the main road in South Lake Tahoe.
About a quarter mile from Harvey's and Harrah's and a 5 minute drive to the beach.
So location wise - you get a star.

    The hotel room was average.
For having a comfortable tempurpedic mattress - you get a star.

The price of the hotel - through the hotel was much more affordable then many of the hotels in the area! It was $140 versus the $300 around the area! So you get a fat star for that.

It didn't WOW me or surprise me in any way so you don't get a star for that one.

    And your staff was subpar.
Actually the staff member at the front desk that we dealt with was kind of an asshole.
I requested to get an early check in as a wedding I was attending was at 3p (also the check in time). I understand that it's a request and it's not always granted. The attitude of your staff member was sarcastic, rude & unnecessary especially after driving for 4 hours. Please reiterate to your employees that their sarcasm and attitude is not appreciated.

I would stay here again though just based on the price & location.

i am giving this place a 3 because of the somewhat misleading pictures on the website. the "inn" is divided into 2 parts from the merger of 2 different hotels. the nice side is what you see in the web page pics: alpine, rustic, etc. the other side is no better than a motel 6 which faces lake tahoe blvd and the noise from traffic is very audible.

the rooms are ok - more spartan than the pictures make them appear. also, no kleenex in the room and a super old TV. unless you got a super cheap rate, go elsewhere.

I love Park Tahoe Inn! My boyfriend and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend in an attempt to pay a little less than our beloved Stardust. I'm happy we are so open-minded. I tried not to be too put off by the so-so reviews, and I'm glad I did!

The first thing I noticed about our room was how large it was! There is soo much space!! Sure , it was only the two of us and we weren't too sure what to DO with all that space, but it was nice to not feel so cramped. There were not as many amenities as Stardust (by a long shot), but we improvised. I like bigger bathrooms as well with a separate mirror and sink, but there was a vanity in the room that I could use for me to put my makeup on and everything. :)

Staff was awesome (especially the young gentleman--very accommodating about everything). We also enjoyed warming up by the fireplace late at night before bed. And, of course, the location was absolutely PERFECT... we woke up each morning to walk across the street to have breakfast at Driftwood Cafe in Heavenly. Perfect, perfect.

As any Yelper should do, don't be afraid to adventure out and try something despite its negative--or positive--reviews. Just think of what you could be missing out on! We will be back in September. :)

This place is perfectly adequate for a decent place to sleep. The place doesn't seem quite the same when I stayed here a few years ago (Yelp apparently has eaten my old 5-star review), but it still has the comfy Tempurpedic beds, and that's what counts.

What's gone away are the Bath & Body Works toiletries. Now there are supposedly "organic" products in their place, but the conspicuous "Made in China" stamped on all of it screams "BEWARE."

Also gone is the pool, but it's been replaced with a fire pit. Sadly, the free breakfast also has become a part of the past.

    Wifi is sketchy at best.

That said, most people don't come to Tahoe to spend their time in a hotel room, including myself, so I found this place still worth staying in, especially now that I have a dog, and they are dog friendly.

Probably one of the most disgusting hotel I've been to. All the blankets, pillows, and beds had some sort of stain and hair sticking to it. The shower was one small stall and it was difficult trying to extend my arms to wash my hair. Mini fridge didn't work and the atmosphere just didn't feel sanitary. As someone who's a germaphobe I definitely would not recommend staying here.

The only pro of this lodge is it's walking distance from Harrah's and right across from the heavenly resort.

I'm giving this place one star because of my interaction with an extremely rude, unprofessional, arrogant front deskman named Robert. It seemed this guy really hated his job or something and was a major a**hole to me and my wife multiple times for just watching tv with friends in our room. Apparently the walls are paper thin and you can hear even the faintest noise as we were talking at normal conversation level and had the tv on low. I don't know about you, but I did not spend 160 dollars to not be able to watch tv and talk with my friends. It's one thing if you are being obnoxious and throwing a crazy party all night and another if you just want to catch up with friends and talk with a normal tone. Anyways, this guy was very threatening to me and my wife and made her and her two friends very uncomfortable. The other staff and maids were very nice, but this guy needs to be fired. The room is pretty horrible with tons of mold, dead bugs, and just kind of run down. The only pro is it was very close to casinos. Maybe I would have stayed here again, but that front desk man named Robert completely ruined my stay here. Park tahoe inn, do the right thing and get rid of this guy!

For the price, not bad at all.

The room might feel a bit dingy but if you think to yourself "this is better than sleeping in the car" this won't be so bad...

Large beds with enough pillows and blankets. AC unit is working properly. There is good water pressure in the shower, though insufficient ventilation. There are plenty of parking spaces near the rooms.

I love that this hotel is dog friendly and that the location is so close to everything you can just walk to it instead of worrying about parking. So pluses for that! There really isn't anything super special about the rooms, it's just like a normal hotel that you would see in just about any inn. The beds are probably the least comfy thing I have ever slept on. My wife and I both woke up super stiff and exhausted after tossing and turning all night. Ironically, the person that slept on the roll out said she got a great night sleep.

I'm currently staying here as I type this. And I'm wishing I had made the decision to stay somewhere else.

Here's why I'm pissed that I spent my money on this place:

    - Mold and hair in the shower
    - Dead bug on the bathroom sink
    - Floor in the bathroom is dark tile with white dried liquid on most of the floor (no, I'm not sure what it is, and no I don't want to know)
    - A used tissue sitting on the bathroom windowsill
    - The screen on the bathroom window is bent and has been very obviously pried off previously, so it's just sitting in the sill
    - One of the shower knobs fell off the second I touched it
    - The wifi has worked for a total of an hour since we've arrived 8 hours ago
    - After calling the front desk twice about the wifi, and once about the shower knob being broken, the phone in our room miraculously stopped working

There were a few things that were a nice touch, but they don't make up for the filth:

    - Firepit
    - Complementary snacks
    - Fairly comfortable bed
    - Alarm clock (Sitting on a dresser across the room from the bed...? Never seen an alarm clock placed anywhere but the bedside table, but okay...)
    - Small complementary tube of toothpaste in the bathroom
    - Organic bath products
    - Heater was running when we arrived

    Would I stay here again?

    Absolutely not.

Came to tahoe from Hawaii to go to SNOWGLOBE for the new year and finally remembered to write this

The only reason why I'm giving this one star is because of the front desk guys being cool and really trying to help us out . So here goes, we get there and they Give us a room, we go to the room and it looks like the cleaners up and quit , like all the cleaning shit was still there and beds unmade!

I thought I walked into the wrong room or something! Told the front desk dude and he personally walked me to the next room and couldent be any more sorry(I felt bad it was his first week lol) we got to the next room and same fucking thing! Lol I said alright man are you playing a joke on us?? And he was in disbelief and he personally said he'd clean it but I said no this room seriously needs a cleaning , so he called his manager who was off duty and cleaned the whole room for us in about an hour. We then finally slept at 1030pm .... We got there at 7....

Don't be fooled by the pics, this place is cheap, the carpet is falling apart, the Internet dident work the whole 3 days we stayed, but it was in a very convenient area next to the casinos and shops.

Would I stay here again? Not in my life, it totally throws you off how nice and modern it looks !

Oh and they gave me a ticket for parking in the parking lot because they thought I wasent a guest there....

But they did comp me a night for the shitty room service .

When you stay here, you are at "Ground Zero" for Lake Tahoe.  You are where all the action is, or just across the street from dozens of restaurants, bars, clubs, casinos, grocery stores, clothing stores, the lake, boating, kayaking,   Does not get better than this location in Lake Tahoe--at least for warm weather activities. You can park the car once and not move it again until you are ready to leave--there is really nothing to drive to that is not in close walking distance. Upscale heavenly village is across the street.

We stayed here one Saturday night in September for the Tour de Tahoe bike marathon--a great event where you ride/race around the lake--approx. 72 mile perimeter.

After we checked in, we walked right over to the lake and jumped in for a swim, and then relaxed on the beach from the long drive from Los Angeles.  We watched the sun go down over the lake, then walked 2 blocks back to the Park Tahoe for showers and then across the street to Base Camp Pizza/Italian for dinner.  After that next door to Raleys market for buy a few things for breakfast and the Sunday bike ride to put into the very cold room refrigerator. The bed--Sooooo comfortable--better than I have at home.  Shower small and tight but great pressure.

The room was clean, the front desk on the phone making the reservations and in person was very pleasant and accommodating (Thanks Shaun!), nice soft towels, and the room rate reasonable compared to all the other motels and hotels in the area. The front desk was as helpful as a concierge getting us situated and suggestions.  No resort fees at all!  (There are No resort facilities at all here.)

I could have stayed here a couple of more nights if we did not need to get back to work.

Parking was plentiful even on a sold out night, and was right in front of the room, easy unload and load back up.

I would definitely stay here again next time in town for the bike event.

People that should not stay here are the following:

    1. You need a pool.
    2. You need a spa.
    3. You need room service.
    4. You like to smoke.
    5.  You need a valet to park your car.
    6. You need a butler to carry your bag.
    7. You want interior corridors.
    8.  You need turndown service and a mint on your pillow.
    9. You need a large flat screen TV.
    10. You like to hang out in the hotel lobby and check people out.

None of these exist or are available at this hotel.

    Wish list:

Prohibit pets in the rooms.  We hate that! and try to avoid motels/hotels that allow pets.  They poop and pee on the carpets--you can't get it fully out--the next guests walk in it.  They shed and create allergens.   Don't go down that road.  Someone posted a picture here of a Dog in one of their beds--gross to think that you may have to sleep in that same bed. What do you think the poop factory did in that bed?

While spending a weekend in Lake Tahoe we chose this hotel for a few different reasons. The first was the fact that each room has Tempurpedic beds, the second reason is that it is centrally located near Heavenly Village, and the third is that it has a great courtyard area with a fire pit.

The staff here was incredibly polite and knowledgeable about the area. The room itself was comfortable but the layout was interesting. It was nice to receive a welcome basket and they had a lot of local area literature. The beds were comfortable but the bathroom was a bit cold because it was at the rear of the room. The shower pressure was a little low and the shower was an awkward shape.

In the end we enjoyed the stay here and we would stay here in the future.

As soon as we walked in our room there was a basket filled with free goodies! Bottle waters, Doritos, box juices, cookies it was really cute. Seriously who still gives out free stuff. Tempurpedic beds, very clean, fridge for our drinks, simple but comfy.

Came on Valentines Day they even had a cute area to sit by a fire pit. Didn't have to worry about a cab or driving, had a great time good night sleep will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a bachelor party. The rooms were cramped but clean. It didn't bother us too much as we only needed it for a short time. We spent most of the night out and came back to this place to sleep for a few hours before heading our own ways.

The rooms were surprisingly quiet compared to how close the hotel is to the main road. They did a good job with sealing up the room so that the noise is kept out. The price was a lot cheaper than the big hotels down the street and in a way this was perfect for what we were there for.

The parking lot didn't have assigned parking and got full quick. I have a smaller car so it ended up being sandwiched between giant trucks and SUVs. Fortunately, it doesn't seem like anyone opened their door and dinged my car but I would be constantly worried about this as the parking slots are for compact vehicles and not fullsize SUVs/Trucks.

The provided WIFI password didn't work so we couldn't connect to their router and had to use our own data on our phones when we were there. Kind of sucks that they charge a resort fee when the services don't work! The tempurpedic bed was not very comfortable for me but that's not my style of bed for sleeping so I cannot comment on it too much. Get the upstairs rooms as you can definitely hear people walking above you and it gets annoying if you don't have earplugs. I ended up sleeping with my earbuds on from my phone (not plugged in, just to block noise)

Overall our stay was good as the rooms were clean, quiet, and affordable. The complimentary snacks was a real nice touch for us returning at 3-4 am. Free water and a few snacks really go a long way at that hour :)

$52/night total for a Saturday night?

Relatively speaking, this is the best inexpensive inn/motel in the area.

The location is super central.  It's a short walk to the casinos, the Chateau at the Village and the shops near the Marriott Grand Residences.

The beach is just a 12 minute walk away.

There is a Welcome Basket!! (see my pic that I uploaded). Its not much but it's much appreciated.

The bed is a CalKing (I believe) so there's plenty of room to roam around.  The mattress is more of the firm side which my lower back appreciates.

Guys from the front desk are nice.

Stay here and save your money for other things.
