Stayed here for 2 nights while snowboarding/skiing at Heavenly.  $60 per night (+ tax) wasn't too bad.

Location: Right off of Hwy 50 about 5 mins. drive from the Casino.  I don't think you can walk it.  Very convenient to get to Heavenly through the back way (driving) on Pioneer Drive.  You definitely cannot walk to the Heavenly Gondola from here.

Accomodations:  Rooms were definitely outdated decor.  Bed was quite terrible.  Never really had a great night sleep because it was so hard.  TV remote did not work at first, so they had to bring a replacement.  Room 120 seemed to have been repainted/retiled recently..which made it look cleaner, but the bed/shelves/tv stand were definitely older.

Free breakfast consisted of free coffee and Swensen's packaged pastries..the ones you can buy at Safeway in individually wrapped packages.

Not a lot of people staying there, but, definitely a lot of other options around the area.

I would stay here again...simply because of the price, location, and the heater.  It was so powerful!

This place seriously have no customer service skills, whatsoever- Yet alone, know any information on their own hotel! Some idiot answered the phone without any knowledge of the exact price of their rooms or the amenities they accommodate and to call back in the morning for info. If he was polite and not so rude, I wouldn't have cussed him out. Funny, some lady actually called me back. I answered the phone and she said no need to call back in the morning. Look lady, I wasn't planning on calling back and staying at your crappy hotel. These reviews for this crappy hotel says enough. DO NOT STAY HERE. Spend your money else where even though this place is cheap.

Pros: Good price for the season, clean room, clean bathroom, clean towels.
Cons: Everything else... but having clean sheets and towel daily saved this placed from a 1 star.

I booked the double queen room for a snowy Christmas weekend with the family. We enjoyed everything except the hotel room.

Beds: They were uncomfortable, the springs felt old and tired. One of the queen beds was placed 1 foot away from the wall heater. When the heater cycled on, the temperature differential made me felt like I was being roasted above my waist and frozen below. This bed was practically impossible to sleep in unless I turn the heater off.

Shower stall: It is clean, but there was no light. Could the theme for this room be "Showering in the twilight of the bathroom sink" ?

Room: Good powerful heater, but useless because it will cook the person sleeping on one of the queen beds. There were a whole total of two power sockets in the room. One for the table lamp and one for the 21 inch Sony tube TV.  I could not find any other power sockets to plug in my cellphone and laptop chargers. I had to charge the cellphone on the bathroom sink.

We booked a room block here for our wedding and it was a nightmare to set up.  It took over 6 months to work out a contract and when we finally signed the contract we found out that most of our guests were able to get a cheaper room through their website instead of our group rate.  The rooms are clean and the people nice but this hotel is extremely mismanaged and it often took weeks for the staff to get back to us when we tried to call or email.  This inn is extremely cute and could be making a ton of money  but they need to get their act together.  On the plus side, our guests seemed happy with the rooms and the price can't be beat in Tahoe.

Found this place on Priceline & thought I scored!  They offered free Wi-Fi, Continental Breakfast and they allowed our dog. Plus, not too far of a hike to the casinos/Heavenly/beaches, etc....  And all of this for less than $70 a night.

Our View: Far from a Lake View. Our romantic view consisted of  walls, a hallway, parking lot.  And since we were on a corner, we could see our neighbors everytime the walked in and out.

Room: Tiny. Outdated.  The bedding/curtains/lamps/chairs all had a peach colored floral print.  However, the sheets did appear to be clean.  I cannot say the same for the carpet.

TV: Old school, box style tv that had 7 local channels (including the shopping channels).  But it's okay, because for an extra deposit you can borrow a VCR!

WI-FI: This was a selling point for me. Not that I had planned on being in the room the whole time, but it's nice to be able to hop online & find something to do.  Well, the signal was so weak that it wouldn't work in the room.  You have to stand outside in the 27 degrees to look something up.

Oh...No coffee pot in room. But they do have a free continental breakfast!  Prepackaged bear claws and Kirkland brand juice boxes and coffee.

Parking lot: Watch out for black ice.  I slipped and fell on my ass.  Dear Management: Have you heard of salt?  LOL.  No worries, I'm sure I provided much humor for anyone who happend to see.

No hair dryer.  No cable.  Shower, you better be thin to fit.

I did find some postive things about the place:  The hot water lasts a long time and the heater works really well.....too well....it gets really hot...too hot.

Pretty good.  I got a great deal on Expedia.  I had to get 4 rooms because my whole family is with me.  All of the rooms were clean.  All double beds.  They were also all dated.  The downstairs rooms seem much nicer.  There is free wifi. The wifi is extremely slow but I'm aware that we are not in a big city staying at a big hotel getting wifi, and it's free so it will do just fine.  Free continental breakfast from 830 to 1030.  Check out is 11. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. It is a non smoking hotel but it still seemed like our room had been previously used for smoking.  The lobby is not open 24/7. They have free ice water and coffee all day.  It's a 10 minute walk from town and about the same to the beach. Considering my very large party of 16 people and the price we got it was great.  It only gave 3 stars because the rooms are pretty old and the beds are very uncomfortable.  At least the ones in my room was.  I was a good experience over all.  I would not pay the $117 a night that it usually is but I got it for $71 a night.

$70 for a double king room, it was fair. Clean room, cable TV, free WiFi (barely worked in our room though), about a mile walk from the Casino or down to the lake, Convenient stores within a 4 minute walk, ice machine downstairs. The room designs is very much outdated. It wasn't the greatest, but for the price I won't complain too much. The ladies at the front desk were nice, continental breakfast consisted of bread, cookies, cereal and juice box and/or coffee.

We stayed here for the memorial weekend and the hotel simply exceeded our expectations. The price was cheap for the memorial weekend compared to nearby hotels and the food and service was excellent. Overall, throughly enjoyed our stay here and we will come back again!

I was looking for a somewhat inexpensive romantic setting for a special birthday trip.  What I found instead was a room that was so small that 2 adults were crowded, outdated furnishings, a shower that was so small it was claustrophobic.

Woke in the morning thinking to grab some coffee in the lobby (since there were NO amenities in the room) only to be told that the lobby doesn't open until 8am!  There was actually a sign telling me to come back later.

At $150 for the night, we felt cheated and sorely let down.  Found this hotel on hotels.com which will make me think twice before trusting that site again.

Overall.... not worth the money... no matter what the rate.

I really wanted to like this place and this motel. I had a themed suite, New Orleans specifically. Nice room, very small for a suite however. There was a spa tub, which was nice. Jets however were very loud & distracted from a relaxing soak in the tub. I then went out for dinner/drinks, came back to my mini-suite to find to room completely flooded!! This was at 8:30 pm, so of course no one was at the front desk.  Now I was a hotel manager for 5 years, so I know smaller "motels" close their front desk at a certain time. Fine, I get it. However, you MUST have some emergency # guests can call to get ahold of maintenance. I stood at the front desk door pounding on it, pressing the intercom & picking up the DEAD emergency phone for 30 minutes before someone finally answered the emergency phone after I slammed it down & picked it up quickly again!! That is what I'm most upset about: I was practically in tears wondering what I was going to do because no one available to help. The person who finally came gave me a new room, however didn't offer to help me move my stuff.
Like I said, I really wanted to like this place, it was listed on Purple Roofs & usually most places listed there are reliable. But this was a very bad experience for me and I will never return. Even though it is a small motel the customer service needs to be MUCH better.

If you like peepin-tom's this is definitely the place for you!  But if not, I'd stay clear!
My younger brother and his beautiful girlfriend rented a room at this hotel in February.  While they were in bed together they noticed a small hole of light coming from the ceiling when their peeping-tom turned on the light in his bathroom---upon further investigation they noticed several other peep holes including one in the bathroom.  After feeling incredibly violated they called the police only to essentially be told that peeping is not specifically a crime and they they had dealt with this pervert before.  Needless to say they were forced to find another hotel in the middle of the night and the creeper didn't even refund their money for the room.  REALLY CREEPY!

Pros: Really cute rooms, great heaters, wonderful staff, puppy friendly in some rooms (but not all, which is great for people with allergies), not too noisy, and I could hardly hear the highway even though it's right off of 50

Cons: Internet is essentially nonexistent. This may not matter to some, but internet helps me find things in the area, and its a drag to not have it, especially when they say they do. Breakfast is... like most continental breakfasts... prepackaged pastries & cereal.

I would definitely stay here again, but it wouldn't be in my top 5

Really nice and helpful staff. For the price and location we really thought the 2 night stay was excellent. The first night we felt the bathroom was a bit tight for my wheelchair to maneuver. Called Barbara at front desk and she took care of it in 15 minutes and moved us down the hall with better accommodations right away for the same price. Great experience!

The plan was to stay one night...and I'm so glad that it was only one night. Drove up from San Diego for a first time visit to Tahoe. I booked this room because it was decently priced at $91 for the night (July 4th weekend) but I have to say we did not get a $91 hotel room.

The room didn't smell good upon entering. The bedspread smelled like cheap perfume. Found ants crawling on me while laying in the bed. The carpet felt damp, wore my flip flops walking around the room the whole time.

The shower DID NOT drain the water. I was standing in about 4-5 inches of water while taking my shower. Does anyone else think this is gross?!

There were TWO things that I liked about this place...we were able to get a later check out time AND we got coupons for breakfast at IHOP.

We won't be staying here again.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. We had the best experience/time of our life at this place.
We visited other chapels in the area and didn't think that any of them even comes close to Tahoe Chalet Inn. We went to Chapel of the Bells for information and literally ran out the door when we saw a couple who just got married there, asking them for pictures of their wedding that they completely forgot to take throughout the ceremony. Even though it was paid for.

We worked with Alvyn to plan our wedding and it was extremely last minute. He was very helpful and was very prompt in responding throughout the whole process. This place was perfect for a small, intimate wedding. Just the way we had wanted it. The chapel is beautiful and the little garden with gazebos is breathtaking. We lived at the Themed suites at the Chalet Inn and it was amazing. The suites were excellent, really private and away from the other suites. The suites were really warm and cozy and had excellent decor. Alvyn made our special day even more special by getting us a cake and champagne. We had a beautiful basket in our room with goodies and a beautiful frame in addition to all this. The day of the wedding, everything just fell in place and it was a smooth and stress free day. Thanks to Alvyn for planning everything so wonderfully with great attention to details. I didn't think everything would flow so flawlessly with everything.
Alvyn was extremely friendly and he became a part of the family by the end of the wedding. He made our special day a beautiful memory that will be with us for the rest of our lives. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Poster Beds were great for holding on to! Showers in am no good no hot water or water pressure. Besides the large critters on the porch at night looking for food all in all a good stay.

I arrived at 2am and the front desk was closed. There was a note left with a phone number to call in order to check in. The room was cramped and cluttered with old furniture. The shower was small and the water pressure was aweful. While taking a shower the water temperature would change from warm to extremly hot or really cold. No AC in the room, no fridge or coffee.  We got a room downstairs on the main hallway and late at night there were people braking glass bottles outside our room.

One of the nights the parking lot was full so we had to park behind the building. When i went out to my car the drunkies were peeing next to my car. UGH! The only good thing was the location but other than that I wouldnt recommend this place.

This is by far the worst place I stay at. I do not recommend this place at all. Customer service was so bad. Maybe it was just the lady that day but she was no help at all. Our bathroom toilet was leaking. Our comforter was dirty and had spot that was still wet. I book a room at getaroom and pay $255 & when I check in I had to pay $188. Queen suite with no microwave and refrigerator. When they said they have microwave and refrigerator. I will not go back to this place nor will i recommend this place to my family and friends.

Walking into our room was like walking into my dream bedroom. It had awesome colorful curtains and an amazing four post bed.
I didn't like that the heater went on way too hot even after we turned it down. After we turned the dial down all the way off it still was on, so we ended up blowing the pilot light out. The continental breakfast was very bland and not that great. The overall experience not worth the $100 for that one night.

I decided to take my teenagers to Lake Tahoe for the first time and we chose this place to stay. As a first time customer, I was very pleased at the customer service, price and the room we were given. Barbara, who works the front desk, went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We loved our room so much, we stayed an extra night! Over all, a great trip and I will stay here again. My only suggestion is not to book through Expedia or any other online entity, contact the hotel yourself and save some money.
