For a 35 dollar a night hotel in the middle of south lake tahoe, this place is great.  we ended up upgrading to the jacuzzi room for a whopping 63.50 total for the night.  place was clean, staff was friendly, I would def stay here again.  No it's not a fancy five star hotel, which is why it cost 35 dollars for a standard room.  seriously people?

    1/2 a star.
Has a small heater which barely works.
Everything is really old. Will not come to this place again.

Private hot tube and kingsize bed for 50 dollars. In summer perfect places, but don't book in winter. The heater is very small!

After a long day from skiing I went to check in to the hotel. I reserved a double bed room. When I went to check in they gave me a one bedroom. After arguing with the staff that I ordered a 2 double beds and showing them my receipt, they told me that they already gave my room away. When I asked why, they told me that they didn't have to honor priceline.com reservations list.
An hour later after calling priceline and told them about the situation and confirmation about the situation, priceline.com told me to go to another hotel and they would pay the difference.
Don't take the chance that they will give your room away.

If I could give this place -5 stars I would!

I went camping for the first time in my life this year, why did I wait till now to go camping you ask, cause I thought camping was dirty, well turns out I was wrong and I loved camping.  After being at the Hacienda, I would've much rather camped than stay here, this hotel is dirtier than anything I've ever experienced in my life.  The bathrooms at Harrah's and Harvey's were cleaner.

This all started when my parents said they booked the rooms for all of us.  My brother got there first and called me to tell me to not bother coming because this is a "crack head" hotel.  My brother tends to exaggerate so I took his warnings lightly.

When I stepped into my room it wreaked of years of cigarette smoke.  Nothing has been updated.  I was afraid of touching anything, and I'm really glad I brought my own blanket.  I wore my flip flops in the shower, that's how disgusting this place was.

Moral of the story: stay here at your own risk.

Cheap and tacky as all hell but The Husband and I love staying here on cold snowy winter nights. Where else can you get a spa in your room for $35 on a Saturday night? Um nowhere, that's where!

Decided to go to South Lake Tahoe with the boyfriend for Valentine's weekend, also a three day weekend since it's presidents day. Booked the room the day of .. wishing I really would have checked the reviews prior because most are completely accurate.  Old. Rundown. Disgusting.  I also wore my flip flops in the shower. Old Stains on the walls, carpet and lamps. There was a stain on the bed comforter also holes in the sheets and blanket with a dirty ass matress.  Bathroom floor was so gross. I couldn't believe this is what we paid 200 for. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

We got a nice clean room for a great price. Rm 31. The room smelled clean when we walked in. Not an air freshener clean but really clean. The woman at the front desk greeted me with a smile and got me checked in very quickly. They have a very nice pool area. All the neighbors were friendly and we were surprised that our room was cleaned the second day. We expected fresh towels but they came in and cleaned. It is very close to the casinos and the lake. We will definetely be back.

We really liked this place, for what it is. Not fancy or pristine, but cheap and cozy. The family who runs it was very friendly and helpful. I like any motel room that is quiet and has knotty pine walls!
For another $10, we were up graded to a "suite" with a hot tub in it! Again not fancy, but for a family on a budget we enjoyed our stay. i wish the pool had been cleaner because I would have swam in it, but we did spend some time in the hot tub outside.
It is located on the main drag, and there are locals who live in the motel. This didn't bother us much because it was very quiet the night we stayed.
All in all we spent $70 for a two room suite on the fourth of July holiday. Not bad, we would stay again.

As long as you not getting room#10, it is a good place to stay. They have spa units inside of the room for very affordable price. Rooms #30 and #31 are small but I would recommend you to book them if you are a couple. Rooms #14 and #15 have spa unit + fireplace inside. They even provide firewood so that you don't have to bother. It is located 5 min driving from Heavenly ski resorts and main restaurants/casinos. Overall it is a good place to stay If you travel on a budget.

My Family and I went up to Tahoe For the day on Christmas Day and decided To  spend the nite. We needed 3 Rooms... All the casino hotels were booked so we didnt have a choice but To start looking at motels. All the motels were Also booked so we were getting worried. I called The Hacienda And fortunatelly they had One room available. I decided To get it because what if we couldnt find any other place To stay. I had To keep on searching other motels For 2 more rooms. The next motel i called they actually had 3 rooms available! So i called the Hacienda back And told the lady To cancel the room. She was very rude To me And told me i had To cancel 48hrs in advance ! What? Really? I just called you like 20 minutes ago how can i give you 48hrs notice?! And she hung up on me...! WTF! So i called her again And this time i told her that she hung up on me and just because of that i definetly did not want To stay there. Told her i would be stoping by To get a voided transaction of the money that she had already changed ! And she hung up on me AGAIN!!! I thought that every hotel does the charges when you check out not before....I'm glad i got my money back and not stayed here.

The reviews on this place are not very accurate, this motel was nice and the people up front were very friendly. If people are going to post bad reviews  about how dirty the room is and the 'mold' and this and that, POST PICTURES! I almost gave up a good room because of dumb reviews. POST PICS OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN! Anyways, We had room 31, we had the priceline discount and I think we only paid $55. Some people said they paid about $100 in peak season and that price definitely isn't worth it, but for what we paid we had a pretty large room with a hot tub and a flat screen tv and it was a comfortable room. This place was clean which is my biggest thing, the room can be small but everything has to be clean! The shower and hot tub was nice and clean, the only thing was there was a window inside the shower, you couldn't see anything but it was kinda funny. Then you had a big counter with towels and the sink and a big mirror, which was nice and then inside a separate tiny room was the toilet. The bed was comfy, although it was springy. This is something that some people might like and others might have issues, it didn't bother my boyfriend and I, but to each their own. Pillows were a little flat, but we had our own so we didn't use theirs. My biggest complaints were one, the wifi and two, there was no door for the bathroom area, except for where you actual go to the bathroom. It's all open. It's not a huge complaint, but I like to have my privacy when I shower. But maybe it's because we had a 'suite' I'm not sure. The internet sucked! You couldn't connect to it; the name would pop up, but you couldn't enter a password, so you couldn't use it. Other than that, tv was cool, the refrigerator was nice and cold, the microwave worked but it is a little outdated. And there was a blow dryer, iron, and ironing board. Walls are a little thin, and we did have obnoxious neighbors, but I turned up the tv and was fine. Another great thing about this place is that it's located near everything; places to eat, the downtown shopping area, grocery store, and a CVS all within 3 minutes away.   NO TOILETRIES- SO BRING YOUR OWN.

Back when we were playing Sega Genesis, listening to MC Hammer and awaiting the next new episode of Seinfeld, this was probably a cool hotel.

But it is clear that the owners of this hotel have not done ANY maintenance since that era.

The room featured a heart shaped Jacuzzi (complete with mirrors on the ceiling), a chandelier with half the lightbulbs missing, a king sized bed (sagging almost 5 inches in the middle), and a soiled dark red carpet.  There were wires hanging out of the wall where the smoke detector should have been.

Now to be fair, this was the cheapest room in South Lake tahoe--$45 bucks on a weekend night, peak season.

I wonder why they don't do some simple things to make the rooms better--fill the chandelier with lights, replace the smoke detector, steam clean the carpet.  But then, I guess, this wouldn't be the cheapest room in Tahoe and I would have stayed at some other hell-hole.

You get what you pay for.

The only redeeming thing that this hotel had going for it was the $38 price and the in-room jaccuzi which was fair at best.

When you go to a hotel, you go there for their sleeping accommodations: In this regard, hotel hacienda failed miserably. The bed was as comfortable as a cardboard box, the pillows were so flat they may-as-well have not been there at all, and the sheets were rough and crinkled like newspaper paper.

I think I got about 20 of bad sleep the whole night as my girlfriend and I tossed and turned and tried to get comfy.

They advertise free WiFi, but the connection is so slow and drops so often that even reaching Google proved to be more than it could handle

Don't go here! Despite being cheap, they are not worth your money or patronage.

I was hesitant to book here after reading the reviews and almost canceled our reservation. After speaking with the front office prior to our stay, I decided to give it a chance. The place is located minutes from the casinos at Stateline and although there is no direct lake view, the lake is directly across the road, a short walk. The front counter staff was so nice when we arrived, she even had our room ready hours early, because I had mentioned we were in town for a wedding and in a time crunch. The room is decent, all the basics...bed, bath, storage and parking at your doorstep. It IS outdated, but everything worked fine and is set up nicely with a small hallway to the spacious bathroom, extra privacy. I had brought our own bedding and disinfectant supplies, so we were good, and I would have probably done this anywhere we stayed. The room did have a fridge and microwave, no coffee maker though. There is brewed coffee in the lobby. There is a pool lined with trees, looked clean. All in all not bad and we would stay again, the price was very reasonable.
    We stayed in room B.

Our rooms were 31 and 32. They were upgraded rooms we were not charged for. We loved them, both had spa units and that funky 60's Deco look, that took us back in time. Comfortable beds, a fridge and microwave, which suited us just fine. Everyone who worked there was so nice and helpful. Kudos to the maid service people, our rooms not only looked clean but smelled clean also.  We also had a small table and chairs to eat at. We felt as though they appreciated our business and with everything else that meant tons to us. We had parking right in front. And there was no traffic noise either. Thank you all for making our vacation that much more fun than a huge faceless hotel ! We felt pampered.

Stayed in room #31 for about an hour before I had to leave.

Found hair on the bed, some unknown sticky substance on the counter, the tiles in the shower were broken and looked like a toddler put them back together. Hmmm, the fridge had somebodies food in it, the toilet had paper in it that hadn't been flushed. The guy who wrote that the bed was as comfortable as a cardboard box was soooooo correct. I got athletes foot from the room and showered in the dark cause the lights didn't work,

When I finally had enough to make me throw up, I checked out and the guys response behind the counter after I told him all of this??? "You had the room for an hour", Yah an hour of misery and disgust. I don't think he even spoke English.

It isn't worth it guys! I disputed the transaction with the bank I was so upset. Stay at Motel 6, yah, they have way better standards than this place.

We stayed here for 1 night because it was late when we got in and we just needed a place to crash until the morning.....not my greatest idea.

They're getting 2 stars instead of 1 because the lady at the front desk was very sweet, and there was free wifi.

There was no fitted sheet on our bed, just a flat sheet put over a bare mattress and then another sheet and comforter on top. When I say "bed" I really mean what might have used to been a bed but it's so worn down all we felt was springs. I probably got 2 hours of sleep.

Just don't expect much if you stay here.

This place was great, inexpensive & centrally located. I think it deserves better reviews. I stayed here mid-week for the 4th of July with my husband and some friends.

The people at the front desk are so nice and accommodating. They went above & beyond to make sure we were happy with our stay. I read the reviews & brought my own fan because I knew there was no air con, but my friends room had a fan & I'm sure they would have given us one if we had asked.

My rating of 4 stars is generous because I think the value & placement of this hotel is ideal. Air conditioning would have been nice, but I understand that it is usually a winter destination. Some rooms could use a little updating (like removing the peeling golf themed wallpaper in room  #31). I also would have liked a liked a thin window curtain to let light in & provide privacy so I could have gotten some light & fresh mountain air (there is just a heavy dark drape).

Besides that, I love the old school feel. Our friends got a really funky room (#31) with bright orange bath tiles & shiny bamboo wall paper. Which I think is great, it takes me back to "Threes Company" days but some may not enjoy that type of funkiness. Our room (29) was a little more "up to date" it was nice, clean & spacious. We had a heart shaped spa tub, micro/ fridge and it was within walking distance to everything, (casinos, the lake, restaurants etc). We were able to walk down to Bijou to see the fireworks & bypass all the traffic! Fantastic! Plus we paid less than $300 for 3 nights through the holiday!
