I stayed here only one night and the weather could have been better and the summer season hadn't started yet so I was disappointed with Tahoe, but not so much with this place.  I was glad I at least splurged for a room with a view.  The one complaint I had, maybe more than one, is that the hotel wasn't very busy and yet I was put in a very out of the way room which when you have a lot to bring in from your car it makes it exhausting after driving all day!

The room was adequate a balcony with a view was a plus, the fireplace was nice so I could run that while leaving the sliding door open so I could listen to the water coming up on the beach.  I was able to partake in the hot tub overlooking the water as well as walking on the beach.  However about got frostbite when I tried to get into the pool!

The staff were very helpful I wanted to take a tour of the lake but since it wasn't the season yet not much was running except the big old time boat which I wanted the speed boat that zipped across the lake to emerald bay.  The staff called all the tour companies and to my big disappointment found me nothing that wanted me to delay my passing through trip.  I didn't partake in the spa options as I was just passing through and not here for vacation, but I did partake in the "breakfast"  and I use that term lightly, it was coffee, and pastries that came out of wrappers granted I appreciate the effort but there isn't much effort here, I could have gone to a convenience store and purchased the same thing had it knocked some cost off the room.  Perhaps this has changed since it was a year since I stayed there, which just goes to show I am the biggest procrastinator that ever lived since I am just now yelping about this place!

A great hotel. What more can you ask for? Waterfront hotel, hotel room with lodge theme. Outdoor jacuzzi overlooking Lake Tahoe, free breakfast, free Wifi, free freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. Only a few minutes from Heavenly and Nevada stateline. Spent a  wonderful time here.

Recently stayed at this place for our wedding. Rented one of the "romance condo`s" right on the beach, a bit dinky for the price but the 2 man jetted tub in the living room was great. Small wood burning fireplace that you had to buy firewood for?

Bed was hard as a rock and sheets were very, very scratchy & low quality, seemed a rip @ $300 a night.

Kitchen was small but cute with all the stuff one would need. Pretty hot in the summer and the rinky dink fan was barely working.. no air conditioning :(

Nice view from our room but had been promised "right on the beach" and it was only partially true....

The wedding spot was gorgeous and perfect but the hotel could use some improvement.

Arrived last Monday around 2:30, the lady at the check-in desk was pretty friendly and let us check in over an hour early. Awesome! Paid $90 for a Lake-view Queen and was pretty happy with the room. It's not all fancy or anything. Hotel is hidden beyond some back alley or something, the room is on the small side, bathroom is tiny, no fridge, sliding glass door is super loud (needs WD-40 or to be cleaned), and the floor creaks super loud (SORRY for the people below us, we were safe from annoyance since our room was on the top floor...score!). Despite what the room didn't have, the room did have a cozy feel to it, a balcony, wonderful view of the lake and snow capped mountains, a gas fireplace and a decent TV. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep too well that night, I'm not sure if it's because the bed or the fact I pulled an all-night the night before. All-in-all I will return because the room did that job and every staff member I came into contact with was friendly!

My family and I have stayed here several times over the last 5-7 years. It's right on the beach so you can go for walks or swim any time time you'd like. (There's a pool & hottub too.) The view from most rooms are awesome and the rooms themselves are nice. Every time we stay here, I enjoy a facial at the hotel's spa and it's always a relaxing experience. In fact, we love the Lakeshore Lodge & Spa so much that we rented out enough rooms for the whole family and had my sister's wedding reception here about 4 years ago! The entire fam had great time. I would recommend this place to anyone, it's good for family vacations as well as romantic getaways.

We spent the weekend before our wedding with family at the Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa. I found them through High Mountain Weddings. Laura helped me through all the confusion of people deciding to come and then cancelling for the few months before wedding. We finalized everything about two weeks before the wedding. Laura upgrade one of our rooms to a loft room. It turned out to be aboslutely perfect! We ended up upgrading my brother-in-laws room to a loft and, again, it was perfect. The views are amazing since we were right on the lake.

The accomodations are simple and perfect for a family. The lodge is located on the main street of South Lake Tahoe with everthing within walking distance.

I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for an affordable family vacation spot with comfortable accomodations, this is the place.

My friends and I stayed here during spring break when ski season was just about to end. Gorgeous place! The view from our balcony was astounding. Seriously, the deck we had was the best part in my opinion, spacious enough we had a little BBQ, ate to our hearts content, and watched the sunset. The lake was literally about 10 steps away, and geese and ducks are everywhere. We had a little heating stove that kept us nice and cozy also (also very handy when we had to dry our ski wear).  We had a kitchen (that surprisingly had plates, cups, and frying pan) and a decent size bathroom where four people could get ready easily. Free wi-fi that was very fast, sometimes it didn't work, but the weather conditions weren't so favorable either. My friends and I had a lot of fun. The people at the front desk were very accommodating and extremely nice. They have special discounts for lift tickets for Heavenly and other surrounding ski resorts. They also have AAA discounts for the lodge as well.  For the view and clean room and the price we paid for the three days there, it was a steal. I would love to come back here! I didn't check out the spa place they had, but possibly next time I go, I will have to check it out.

The view at the Lakeside Lodge and Spa simply can't be beat.  The staff is also wonderful.  However, the rooms leave a LOT to be desired and the beds outright hurt us.  We only stayed one night and felt like we had both been beaten by the bed.  No support whatsoever.  When we talked to the manager about it he said ALL the beds in EVERY room were the same and there was nothing they could do for us other then to allow us to check out and get a refund for our second night (which we did).  In addition to the beds being sub-par, when we closed the curtains at night there were lots of moth holes.... for $160 a night we had higher hopes for this property.  We ended up in the Honeymoon Suite next door at the Tahoe Beach Resort (used to be Timbercove) for $20 more and it was BEAUTIFUL!!  If all you care about is a fabulous view then this is the place, but if you expect comfort too I would go next door.  My two cents...

Couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars.  The place is on the lake, so great views.  The rooms are large and clean (though old).  You have a kitchen, which is great in my opinion.  The service was friendly and knowledgeable.   My only issue was the room we received (only one available) was on the first floor.  The place is old and the walls & floors are thin.  We had people above us and literally, you could hear the guy yawn and sneeze and their entire conversations.  When someone walked, it sounded like they were coming through the roof.  I would highly recommend getting a room on the top floor (2nd is top in some areas, third is top in others).  If I had a room on the top floor, I would have no complaints.  The lodge is very convenient to most anything in South Lake Tahoe.

This is a great nook of a hotel. Every room has an amazing lake view.  Complete kitchen in the room. It's a fairly quiet location but near plenty of shopping and dinning. There is a dry sauna and jacuzzi to complement the on site day spa

Stayed here for two nights and loved it. The staff was friendly upon arrival, the view from the room was amazing. The rooms are cute, the only thing I could complain about was the bed. I have a bad back and they arent bad back friendly. It was worth it though. Walking distance to everything. Would stay here again! Maybe in the summer next time

This place is fun! The log cabin decor is kind of outdated and cheesy but we really enjoyed it! The staff was very friendly, the place was clean, we had an amazing view of the lake, and the fireplace in the room was a great touch. The "continental breakfast" was pastries and coffee, but we didn't even know they had breakfast, so we were happy! Not sure I would pay $150 to stay here, but I would definitely buy another half price deal!

This place is o.k. nothing fancy nor anything to hype about.  I stayed here on one of the biggest holiday weekends and paid $150. It was a decent area that was located off the beach area, but i didnt get a "view" of it since the room was off to the side.

Speaking of the room it was pretty big size due to it being handicap room and the room on the bottom floor, but one down fall is that its right next to the laundry room. If your a heavy sleeper then its not a problem but if not like myself you'll be awaken a couple of times. I think its a bummer spot even if your handicap or not.

The bed was very stiff and the bedding was low end with only 1 down blanket, 1 sheet, and 2 small pillows. The service was good and very nice people working with great customer service, but I wasnt really impressed with it. If your just looking for a roof over your head for the night this is your place.

My now husband booked us the romantic condo for our engagement weekend.  We were arriving late, so the front desk left us a sealed key at the receptionist desk.  When we arrived we found the key without a problem.  However, when we arrived at the room and unlocked the door, there was a squatter sleeping on the couch.  He claimed he worked at the hotel and didn't think anyone was using this room.  He packed up his bag, put his socks on (that were laying over the couch to dry), and took two wine glasses.  After he left we turned the lights on and it turned out he had used the hot tub, steamed up the room, and took our champagne.  We called the person on call and they claimed no one worked there with that discription.

What i was most shocked about is that the person on call didn't even immediately offer us another room.  We told them that we were not going to stay here that night and would call them tomorrow and discuss other options.  We went and stayed at embassy suites down the street.  When we called the next morning, the hotel only cared about wanting to know more about the person in the room.  They did not even offer us a discounted room or a stay some other time at the hotel at a discounted rate.  You would think they would at least have offered us a discounted spa treatment.  They wouldn't even immediately refund our money.  We had to drive all the way back to the hotel, to get a refund.  SOMEONE WAS IN OUR ROOM WHEN WE ARRIVED, REALLY! THEY WERE GIVING US DIFFICULTY ON GETTING A REFUND!!!

The upside to all of this was that embassy suites was way cheaper, included an amazing breakfast, was safer, still had large rooms, and had awesome ammenities.

I stayed in the Lodge Hotel Queen room with my girlfriend for a weekend, and this how we felt at the end of our stay:

- Amazing lake view!
- Private patio on our first floor room
- Directly on the beach
- Gas fireplace was very romantic
- Outdoor jacuzzi
- Free wifi!
- Roomy shower
- Reasonably priced at 111.23 per night

- We were under the impression there would be a partial kitchen - apparently that means a coffee machine. No microwave or mini fridge.
- No bathtub, just shower
- Very thin walls! We could hear all our neighbors' conversations. People in the room above us stumbled in around 2 am, and we could hear every footstep and doorslam until 4 am.
- Late checkin time, 4pm

Overall, I would probably come back. Great for a weekend stay. Not much to do around the resort, but it has a great location near many shops and restaurants (right down the street from Heavenly ski resort). I would recommend it.

The hotel itself is not too impressive but my yelp if for the Manager Linda.

We reserved a single room for three nights and when we got there we were VERY unhappy with the room.

Linda gave us an upgrade to a condo with a kitchen for a very minimal upgrade fee and NO argument or hassle.  Not my typical experience at most hotels.

Also you can get online discounts if you go to TravelZoo.com

Our new condo had a great view and amenities.  Close to the casinos and heavenly too.  I will come back.

This place had the worst customer service ever. We made reservations three months prior to our stay asking to be as close as possible to our friends room. They asked us how many people we were. The person decided we were too many people to stay in the appartments so they put us in the condos. No prob, except they put our friends who are the same number of people in the appartments. Since we wanted to be close together we complained when we arrived. They had a room avaliable but they didn't want to give us and told us if we weren't happy we could just leave because they could easily sell the room!!!
This was very mean considering we communicated with them after our reservations a few times between. This lady didn't seem to care at all.
The beds are really uncomfortable here and I wouldn't recommend coming here to impress anyone.

I have stayed at this lodge three times now over the past 7 years and loved the experience every single time.

The Lodge sits on the beach and every room has a lake view. Some rooms have only a partial view so it is always a good idea to try and book a room that has a full view.

The lodge also offers condos for larger groups, and suites with kitchenettes, though I would strongly recommend that sample many of the fine restaurants in the area instead of cooking.

The lodge doesn't offer much in terms of 'service'. There is no room service and the staff onsite is minimal, but sufficient. When you visit Lake Tahoe you want to spend more time outdoors and use your hotel room to shower, sleep, and enjoy the beach, which is what this lodge is perfect for.

The rooms are clean and safe and the lodge has ample, well-lit parking.

Some cons:

- You can hear guests walking / shuffling about in rooms above yours.
- Not all rooms have a full lake view
- Quality of rooms vary

i was pleasantly surprised by this hotel.  i didn't expect much esp. with our townhog voucher.  i thought they'd give us a crappy room w/ our voucher, but they put us in a beachfront studio.  our veranda went right up to the sand, and we enjoyed the beautiful blue waters of lake tahoe.  the room was quaint and renovated.  the bathroom wasn't renovated, but i can tell that they've been working on it.

the only sucky thing was that wifi kept crashing and was so slow.  the breakfast wasn't much, either, but you can always walk over to breakfast joints around the corner.

overall, the staff was very friendly (brought us 2 toothpaste tubes!).  we loved staying here, and the value's awesome.  we'd love to come back.  i already miss the lakeview.

I got a deal on one of those half price sites for a non-Saturday, so I bought it and dragged the BF up for a Sunday-Monday mini-break. We were pleasantly surprised right off with our amazing view! The balcony is roomy and perfect for sitting and watching the Lake with a glass of wine. The bathroom is clean, but small. It had a great fire place that was controlled with the thermostat and we enjoyed having the slider wide open to hear the water while the fire kept us toasty warm. It was very nice.

They said the room was recently renovated, but I think they must just mean that they changed out the decor because the bathroom has not been updated in ages and the BF barely slept on the bed he was so uncomfortable (I can sleep anywhere). So they lose 1 star for an uncomfortable bed and a tiny, out of date bathroom. I'd like to give a 3.5, as usual, I like the idea of a half star.

I imagine this place gets pretty busy later in the summer with families, so the room we had with a perfect view might be slightly marred by the noise from the pool right under the balcony.

Overall, for what we paid (about half the regular price) it was perfect. Not sure I'd pay $180/night for it though.

Checked in last night with my fiancé to check out possible wedding accomodations for our guests. We were about 20 feet from the water and enjoyed beautiful sunset last evening and sunrise this morning.   Front desk guy super friendly.  Elevator outdated and room keys are actual "keys". Not big deal in my opinion.  Sliding door outdated as well and very loud upon opening and closing. Could hear upstairs ppl opening/closing there's and I thought we had a small earthquake hehe. Beds are ok. Not the most comfortable.  Bathrooms are on the small side with the toilet and shower separate from single sink. Ice machine on 2nd floor that I'm aware of. Soda machine in front of pool. Free ample parking from what I can tell  We came back at 10pm from going out and still had no problem parking. Half a mile from Regan beach which is one of the beach front wedding venue although upon check in here we saw a wedding party take their pics steps from our room  Gas burning fireplace we didn't need to use but im sure would come in handy ski season
I like the solid wood furniture   Gives a nice mountain lodge feel to it. Very appropriate for lake tahoe in my opinion but not for those who are used to the more modern contemporary decor at other hotels. Loved watching the sunset all the while geese/ducks swam right out of the water and mingled with the beach goers :) so cute.
Room curtains are not light proof so once the sun started to come out I was awake. (on 2 hrs of sleep gonna be super exhuasted kayaking this morning)
It wasn't  super bright or anything but I guess I'm used to the hotels where they have really thick heavy curtains.  Loved the conveniene to shopping. 24 hr Safeway within half mile; new and clean. A few miles from the casinos ie Harrahs and the village shops and close to heavenly ski resort which has SPECTACULAR wedding ceremony site views overlooking the majestic lake.
Minus 1 star for loud sliding door and not ultra comfy bed. Would have been minus 2 stars but the view and the geese/ducks made up for it.
Glad we didn't pay full price. But also glad we stayed here the night. Good deal if not full price. Wouldn't pay full price.

I'm reviewing the lodging only (not the day spa). To be honest, I didn't actually do the booking, but a friend of mine did, so I got most of the info from her. This lodge has all individually owned condos, but has the same concept as a hotel, where the front desk takes care of everything. Pretty nice amenities with jacuzzi and pool (jacuzzi got crowded though), complimentary breakfast (basically danishes, fruit, juice, and coffee - all constantly refilled), a gorgeous view of the lake from seemingly any of the condos (we had 3 booked in 3 separate buildings), plenty of parking, conveniently located behind a CVS pharmacy, and across the street from Safeway.

Service here also was excellent. I called the front desk several times for extra sheets, towels, garbage bags, ski resort info, lift tickets, etc, and they always had a prompt answer and were extremely courteous. I'm not sure what the total price was, but among the 20 of us who went, we ended up paying $30 a night per person, and everyone had a bed, save for the 2-3 people who slept on the floor (and paid a little less). I guess the only knocks were that you could tell the buildings here were slightly older, but everything seemed pretty well maintained, and if you did end up needing something, you had to go to the front desk yourself to pick it up (no deliveries). Otherwise, the condos had pretty much everything we needed. We did a lot of cooking in the kitchen, and we had enough pots, pans, dish soap, etc.

Few things are better than when your first impression is not an accurate indicator of the experience in store. Such was the case at Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge and Spa.
My boyfriend planned a midweek away in Tahoe and I have to admit, when we pulled into the parking lot that was filled with potholes and loose gravel, I was not impressed. In addition, the outside of the building was painted a dull brown, which looked like it could use a face lift.
However, once inside and greeted by the friendly man at the front desk, everything took a turn for the better.
By far the best part of the lodge was the amazing lake view from our room. The balcony had a 180 degree view which was worth the price alone.
The room was cozy with an updated rustic look and very spacious.  Also it had a fire burning stove which would be perfect on a cold day.
Kayaks, paddle boards etc can be rented from just a short walk down from its private beach.  Be sure to ask front desk about a discounted rate for the rentals!
The lobby lounge is a nice touch with complimentary hot chocolate, coffee,  muffins and computer access,tv, fire place.
There were some small negatives such as the ugly colored bathtub, small vanity, and dingy dirty carpet.  The carpet is expected because it's made for the snow also and the sandy beach is just right out the doors. Also, the bed was uncomfortable and the view of the popcorn ceiling while tossing and turning was a flashback of 1975.
Overall, for the value and the view, I would give this place 4 stars.

Truly amazing place for the cost! Every penny is worth!!
We, party of 5, drove after staying in crazy Reno night. We wanted to chill and relax, yet feel at home. This place was more than perfect for it.
As soon as we got there, we received a warm welcome from Patrick. He was wonderful. I had reserved for 4 people, but one friend did a last minute plan and came along. Patrick  gave us an upgrade for 2bed-2bath condo.
We did not go to our condo immediately after we checked in. (Big mistake)
We toured around the lake, took to -go dinner. When we came to condo, we realized that we should have done it earlier.
The entire condo is extremely neat and tastefully done. Both the rooms were beautiful. Nice personal touch with colorful quilts and bed covers (not the standard white sheets). Full length mirrors, wardrobes, wooden dressers. Ample of closets. Fully equipped kitchen - everything - from can opener to grater (have seen this before). The beach opens for all the guests right at the backyard as photos promised. We could see the pristine lake right from our balcony. (wish it was summer)
The fireplace was very cute, we got wood from front desk for $5.
All 5 of us had nice individual space We had a wonderful time all together. Felt really sad while leaving, wished we could have stayed for longer
Would definitely come for more in the Summer, BBQ and lots of time on the lake!!!

I was a bit shocked when I saw the outside of the building but all that went out the window when I walked into a clean comfortable room with a breathtaking view of the lake. The queen size bed was very comfortable and the fireplace in the room was a nice touch. The staff was great at check in and the wifi works great. The highlight of my day was sitting on the deck watching the sunset over the lake. It's nice being here during the off season not having to listen to a bunch of noisy boats. I can only hear the quietness of the lake with the waves lapping delicately at the shore. It doesn't get any better here at the Lakeshore Lodge & Spa. I highly recommend this place and I would stay here again.

The best lake view you'll ever see...

I was lucky enough to buy a groupon and what can I say other than I got the best deal EVER.  The lake view is so incredible and feels so close that it's almost as if you're laying next to an infinity pool just looking out the balcony window.  The lodge has it's own private beach with a nice lake side restaurant within walking distance.  The room was clean with a flat screen tv and dvd player.

Honestly spent most of our time here just sitting out on the balcony eating breakfast, lunch, drinking wine and reading my book.  When we weren't enjoying the view from the balcony, we laid out or walked along the beach.

My only reason for not giving this place 5 stars was because our mattress was terribly uncomfortable.  We spent most of the night tossing and turning.  Neither myself or my boyfriend have back problems so just a word of advice if you do is to bring an egg crate or memory foam topper with you.  That may sound ridiculous but trust me, it's worth it for this view.

Excellent 1-bedroom lakefront apartments right on the water, with access to a private beach.  On a hot summer day, it feels like a beachfront condo in Hawaii. Centrally located, offset from Tahoe Blvd and not far from the state line.

The best Fourth of July fireworks in the USA . Located right on the beach there isn't a better view anywhere. The show was choreographed to music that was played through the disc jockey the hotel hired. Great staff.

This weekend was the 2nd time at this lodge. This time I brought more family and rented the 2 bedroom condo. It was perfect! This lodge is very family friendly and has all the amenities a family needs for a great weekend getaway or vacation. With three kids in tow ages 7-10 we had plenty of room in the condo at night to play board games or play DVD's.  The kitchen was completely set with pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, modern stove and microwave, etc.

Our first stay was in a room with two queen size beds, small but comfortable. The view was breathtaking in all rooms. The kids love the unlimited cups of hot chocolate they can help themselves to and the easy access to the lake and pool.  I particularly love that the pool is the perfect temp as is the jacuzzi.

Although it's not as fancy as a 4-5 start resort, I love the homestyle decor and lack of pretension here. I'll have to try their spa treatments next time. I'll keep you posted.

I would give them 5 stars if check-in were earlier and we didn't have to wait so long to get our rooms cleaned. Maybe they could let us check out later...just an idea, to make up for the late check-in.

Overall, excellent service and lovely family friendly lodging.  Another great long weekend at Lakeshore Lodge. Thank you and see you soon!

I would have to say that the Lakeshore Lodge and Spa is the next best thing to Hawaii!  Yes, I am that serious!  Pure heaven, serene quiet location, every room with a  view of the lake and beach.  You can literally spit onto the sand from your balcony.

My boyfriend and I just stayed there last weekend.  We were snowboarding in 75 degree weather, absolutely amazing.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.  They have us ideas on what to do, hikes, beaches, waterfalls, etc.

The place was extremely clean.  DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE APPEARANCE FROM THE FRONT OF THE LODGE.  It appears outdated and rather blan.

Just wait until you get to your room, take your shoes off, put your suit on and enjoy!!

We used a groupon for a two night stay and were amazed. I had expected to be put in a ground floor room overlooking the parking lot with our coupon but I could not have imagined a better room. It was on the third floor with a panoramic view of the lake and looked much better in person than it did in the pictures. The room was cozy with a gas fire and a  small patio with chairs overlooking the lake.

The front desk was very helpful when we arrived 3 hours early. We went for a quick hike and came back when they called us that our room was ready. The breakfast was OK-small bagels, donuts and muffins-nothing fresh, and then apples and oranges, but for the price, we didn't mind.

Only had the pleasure of staying 1 night recently, but we were so sad to have to leave! We had a room on the 3rd floor and the view was absolutely stunning. We had sliding doors to a balcony over-looking the Lake. We ordered in that night just so we could enjoy the room!

The staff was very kind and helpful, we also got a great rate because we were a bit last minute. They gave us recommendations on ordering in that night, as well as a great breakfast joint nearby the next morning.

We slept with the doors wide open to enjoy the sound of the Lake, although it got very chilly by morning! If/when we come back to Tahoe, we'll definitely stay again and for longer next time!

How have I not reviewed this wonderful establishment!!!???
Breathtaking in winter or summer although I prefer the summer time as this place is right on the lake.  We have stayed a few times now and everytime I am so pleased with the staff and the place itself.  Its inexpensive only maybe 30 or 40 dollars more then competing hotels that are not lakefront making it totally worth it.  We would wake up in the morning and walk right out of our front door onto the sand with our coffee and watch the sun come up.

The pier is just steps away with a nice restaurant and water toy rental shop.  You really almost dont even need a car.  Everything is steps away.  CVS in the same parking lot and Safeway across the street.
Cant wait for our next Tahoe trip!

I wish I could do 3 and a half. It isn't quite 4 but better than three. This is a review of the two queen with a kitchen room.  Here is why:
Pros: CLEAN clean clean! Nice office staff, danishes in the morning, multiple room options, nice furniture and ambiance, fantastic view, attempts to update are decent, well maintained, good house keeping, gas stoves, and convenient location
Cons: needs a bit of a renovation just to make it more efficient, pretty uncomfortable beds (for us, they were HARD hard...), older appliances in the kitchen (the wires were a-hanging), creaky floors, older building.

Who is this place good for?
Large groups (in the condos) and families. I'm not so sure I would call this a "romantic getaway" place but I haven't seen all the rooms. We are a small family of three with a preschooler. We picked the ground floor so we wouldn't have to tell our daughter to not run and glad we did! Our room opened up RIGHT to the beach area and we could just play in the snow to our hearts content then walk right back in and warm up. The kitchen had what we needed to cook (and was actually bigger than the kitchen in our first home!), the bathroom was decent, the room size was great (room for our daughter to play in the evening) and basically just a quaint place to stay.

Other info:
So, the night we checked in we discovered our microwave wasn't working. Called the front desk and within 15 minutes they had a different one to switch out. He apologized profusely and also apologized for the replacement not being as new... Hey, whatever! It was a working microwave to help make dinner. Super nice.
Another plus is this place is RIGHT by Heidi's, which is like the BEST breakfast in Tahoe. You can roll out of bed and walk to Heidi's then go back to bed if you want:) Lastly, this place is very affordable. The kitchens help you stay on a budget by eating in when you can and storing food.

This may not be THE place for everyone but if you are wanting a place to call "home base" or you have a family, I would recommend this place. We will definitely go back, but I think I'll bring a mattress topper!

afternoon mgr gave us a great deal on a corner suite with an incredible view of the lake. We stayed two days. Nice clean room, heated pool, hot tub, friendly staff. We had to share our long balcony seating with some smokers next door, but that was really the only low point of the stay.

this was my SECOND time back. we came back in Jan 2013 and we are already back. the staff is so nice and helpful. the rooms are soooooo cozy and is our home away from home.

the location is AWESOME, not only does the hotel have its own beach that not open to the public which is nice in the summer when it gets busy. its only 2 to 3 minutes from the casinos and food. there's a souvenir/gift shop, a great restaurant, CVS and so much more on the same block all less then a minute walking distance. they also have a spa ALREADY at the hotel. with multiple packages you can choose from.

each room has a sliding door that OVER LOOKS the lake. its absolutely gorgeous views.  its so quiet! the room is a good size, I've stayed on the first floor my first visit and i stayed on the second floor the second visit. and they both have their pro and cons. the beds are so comfortable. and i love the touch of having a VISZO flat screen and a nice warm fireplace.

being on the second floor you have a better view and you have your own private balcony. so we sat out on the balcony and listened to the water crash on the beach and watch the stars at night. also you don't hear as many people walking by as you do on the first floor.

the first floor the is slightly louder because not only do you hear people walking by your front door but you can hear people walking by your sliding glass door on the Lake View side. each room was the same layout down to the furniture being the same  and bathroom etc.

the only complaint is the bathroom is sorta small. the sink and mirror are separate then the toilet and shower so that's maybe why they made it so small.. and that there isn't a fridge to keep drinks or food in the room.

also in the summer is really nice they have on the property picnic tables so you can go each down by the water. they have a pool and a hot tub. they also have a BBQ area so you can BBQ or have smores down on the beach. also they have a Volleyball court right on the beach. And right next door to this hotel they have they have water toy rentals ( jet skies etc)

i mean seriously if you want to be close to just about EVERYTHING and stay on the water but have a mountain feeling hotel this is your hotel you want to stay at. i love this hotel and i nitpick at everything for me to have no complaints about this hotel is huge. i would recommend this hotel to anyone.

all you have to do is try this hotel once and you will want to keep coming back.

I stayed here from 12/11-12/13 2012. After more than 7 hours on the road we were anxious to check in and relax but we drove by the entrance 3 times! I recommend some bolder signage. That being said the room was big and very cute. I loved the cabin feeling. The view is also beautiful. 12/12 was my birthday and the snow blanketed the sand that night, making the shore even more stunning. The con of this place is that you can hear anyone staying above you also. We were tempted to complain because I swear someone was bowling above our heads - but it stopped before 10pm so it wasn't too bad. Also the maid didn't replace our coffee when she serviced the room. Overall good stay though!

In terms of location, this is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at.

It's a bit pricey, but you are paying for location. I love the private beach exclusive to guests and the water was so nice to swim in.

The room was great. It was a good size and it had the balcony overlooking Lake Tahoe. WiFi service worked great. No complaints here.

If I'm in Tahoe, this is definitely where I'll be staying again.

The bf and I took a birthday trip and checked in here on 12/12/12 for a 3 night stay and were very impressed by the spacious rooms, helpful staff, 24-hour amenities and gorgeous views of the lake.

I got a Groupon and I feel like I got a really great value. The fantastic staff really went above and beyond by arranging to have my ski rentals brought to the lift for me and my boots taken back to the hotel, and even had a card and chocolates from the Rocky mountain chocolate factory waiting for my boyfriend upon our arrival.

Despite the slightly old facade of the building, the room was very up to date, with two huge comfy queen beds for us, a fireplace, a big balcony, a nice big TV. The day spa was really nice and we had a ton of fun being surrounded by snow in the lake facing outdoor hot tub, as well as relaxing in the evening in the first come first served round the clock dry sauna. Also major points for location - slightly tucked away from the main stretch but still just minutes from almost every mountain. Great hotel. Great experience. Unforgettable birthday :)

This place is AWESOME!! We initially planned to stay at Harvey's before we stumbled upon this gem. Our first night was at Harvey's, and it was TERRIBLE! Their service is poor, and because they are a conglomerate they are clearly disdainful towards their guests of the hotel.

Anyhow, hoping to not have to spend another dime at Harvey's, we went here on 1 /21/13 to a friends cabin to watch the 49ers game all while pondering where we would sleep that night. We so desperately wanted to check out of Harvey's!

This was our answer singing to us like angels from above! This view was captivating. The snow capped lake, open hot tub and rolling mountain views won us over!! The Hubz rushed off to the front desk (on a wish & prayer) and asked if they had availabilities, and the guy helping not only gave us an AWESOME ROOM, BUT ALSO MILITARY DISCOUNTs! YEP, TOTALLY WORTH IT!

We rushed to Harvey's, got our luggage from the valet guys who were baby sitting it while we figured out a hopeful plan to escape, and received more than we could ever bargain for in LAKESHORE LODGE & SPA!

WE will be back soon!

Easy to find, good secure parking. curtious, helpfull staff. good with late check in or late check out with request. well maintained property with an inviting relaxing atmosphere. easy wifi and 24hr hot chocolate and coffee. Nice private soft white sand beach  and picnic area. pool was warmer than lake and hot tub was niiiiiiice. The room had a great view however the bed was way to soft and the bathroom was tiny.

I would give them ten stars if I could.  This gem is the only lodging in South Lake Tahoe with an unobstructed view of the Lake; nothing lies between the lodge and the lake except a private sandy beach.  Every single room has a panoramic view of the lake and the majestic mountains beyond.

Our room was amazing!  It was super clean, cozy, comfortable and quiet.  The décor is rustic with lots of beautiful natural wood and the heater is a gas burning wood-stove replica controlled by a thermostat on the wall (works great and really gives the room that mountain cabin feel).  There is a very large closet to store clothes/gear.  The bathroom is tile and the vanity/sink are separate.  The hot water is instant and it is HOT!  Our room had a full kitchen with full-sized appliances.  This room would be perfect for a family vacation as you could save a little money on eating out by dining in for some meals.  The walls are thick and block the sound very well; I didn't hear any other guests the whole time except for the room directly above us.

Dan at the front desk was very courteous and helpful; he even offered us a pack-and-play crib for our little one.  There is a pool and a Jacuzzi on the premises (the pool was closed but the Jacuzzi was the perfect temperature and looks over the lake).  There is also a day spa.  They offer a continental breakfast in the morning (fruit, pastries, coffee).  Grab a snack and go to the mountain!

Besides being on the lake, the location has other advantages; it is close to everything while still being secluded.  It is walking distance from CVS and Safeway, there are also some eateries close by.  It is close to the base of Heavenly with a shuttle that comes every half hour to take you to the California lodge.  It is also close to the marina for summer enjoyment.  The Gondola, Heavenly Village and the casinos are just minutes away.

All in all, this stay was incredible.  It truly was the best way I have ever experienced South Lake Tahoe!

Fantastic experience. Staff was so helpful. We were there for Presidents weekend which is one of the busiest weekends in Tahoe. The hotel was at full capacity but it still was so enjoyable. You can't beat the location. The views from the 1 bedroom loft condo we had were ridiculous!!! Full lake and snow mountain view! The deck looked out to that same amazing view.

I don't think the hotel rooms are as nice??? They looked kind of crammed together. The condos are separate buildings on the beach. SOOOO worth the extra splurge (which is actually still reasonable for what you get!) Light breakfast, coffee, tea etc in morning was a nice surprise.

Beachfront pool looks like it would be so fun in summer. Already planning our trip back.

I stayed here over the Xmas holidays and have mixed feelings on it.  Apparently the condos are all privately owned and so no two are alike, but the one we got had the WORST, I mean WORST mattresses I have ever slept on.  Trust me, after a hard day of skiing you want to come home and comfortable and I ended up sleeping in the couch after the first night.  The only reason we didn't move rooms is we had so much stuff for the trip no one wanted to unpack, but it was a topic of conversation each night before bed.  I don't know why they couldn't get a new mattress for the place, you could tell it was very old and springs were basically poking into my rib cage.  It was on the beach, so that was nice, and a small walk to starbucks. Also there was a loud party of drunk guys that yelled at me and my sister while walking up to our door one night. I wouldn't stay here again honestly.

OK...this is no 5-star hotel, but it also doesn't come with a 5-star price tag either.

Honestly, after a day of ski trip, all we wanted was a cozy place that isn't too far from all the essentials and the gondolas to chill and relax. This place totally fits the bill

For the location, the quality of the service and the room we got, I think it was well-worth the price we paid and exceeded our expectation.

The service was excellent. the reception was courteous. And when I called to ask for an extra space heater since the loft area was a bit cold for me to sleep through the night, the engineer managed to find an extra space heater for me.
The kashi granola bars at the reception desk was a nice surprise, esp for our skiing trip.

We booked a 2 bdrm suite, but yet, we got an extra loft in this suite, which i don't know if it's part of the suite, or if they just give us an "upgrade". but we ended up having spaces that could fit another 2-3 people easily.

The kitchen was well equipped that we could have executed our dinner plans effortlessly (you know, without having to buy salt, or chef knife etc so for just like 3 nights of stay)

It's right next to the main road in town and really close to the California side of Heavenly and we got a really nice beach view from the room.

We didn't really check out the rest of the amenities like the grill or the hot tub. And we didn't really find the "continental" breakfast could prepare us for our ski trip, but since we had our own kitchen, we didn't find that as much issue, esp, we didn't really expect the breakfast to be included anyway.

I would def. stay here again next time when i go to Heavenly

My husband and I spent our weekend here during our Tahoe getaway.
Upon arrival, the property doesn't look like much, however everything changes as soon as you get into your room.
The view from our room was absolutely stunning! I really can't think of enough words to describe it...you have to see it.
From the moment we walked into the room & saw it - nothing else mattered....
A balcony through the entire length of the room.... couple of chairs & a table on it ..... all you see is water, mountains, tree tops and sandy beach.
When you are in bed - all you see is water. Its as if you are on water.
Truly amazing.
The check in was great. (as well as the check out). Staff is very courteous & accommodating.
The room itself was great. It had a fully equipped kitchen.
There was a gas fireplace in the corner...a TV...and other things that rooms normally have.
The hotel has a private beach, heated pool & a hot tub.
They also has a spa on premises.

*Wifi sucked.

We will definitely be back for the view.

Definitely on the bucket list for a return visit, this lodge provides a five star experience, hands down. If you are looking to make your visit to South Lake a memorable one, this place won't disappoint. Rooms have large bay windows with panoramic views. This is the only resort in Tahoe with an unobstructed view of the lake. Hot tub is recessed and centrally located as to provide a 180 degree view of the lake at lake level. Request a room with a full kitchen and dine in. This location couldn't pair any better to a home cooked meal and your favorite bottle of wine. Unwind after a long day out on the mountain or cruising the town with a dip in the Jacuzzi. Whatever has brought you to South Lake, you won't regret that you chose to spend your time here.

You're paying for the view and thats about it. Room was dirty around baseboards when trying to use the limited amount of outlets available. Sheets are like sandpaper, pillows must be old as there is very little stuffing in them. Bathroom outlets don't work so you have to set up coffee maker elsewhere. The Kleenex must be the cheapest version they can buy. The shower drain cover comes off when you step on it. I would have preferred to pitch a tent on the sand outside. Not a great experience for the prices you pay.

I normally stay at the casinos when ever I come to Lake Tahoe, but thanks to groupon I have discovered a local gem. Lakeshore Lodge and Spa is my new go to hotel when in town from now on. The place has a very rustic feel to it. Rooms are decorated with old wooden fixtures and an old school fireplace. They even still use actual keys to get in! I can't remember the last place I had to use a physical key to access my room. But what truly won me over is the giant window next to our bed with a truly epic view of the lake. If I had to give you one negative thing about the room it would be the thin walls. You could hear other people moving around next to us and underneath us. But for me personally it isn't enough to change my experience here. Now if you'll excuse me I have some more money to hand over to the casinos.

The views of Lake Tahoe were beautiful - but only after we coughed up an additional $30/night. You see, there's a difference between 'lake view' and 'lake front' - and unfortunately, 'lake view' doesn't let you view much of the lake at all.

The staff were mostly friendly but what really bugged us was their nonchalant attitude toward their hi-speed internet service. It was - for all practical purposes - non-existent. Sometimes you'd find the network - and sometimes not. If you were lucky enough to find the network, the log-in screen may or may not appear. If you were fortunate enough to log-in, then the weak and intermittent signal would disappear on you!  Bottom line - we specifically asked about hi-speed internet prior to booking this place, and they simply didn't have it. I'm not saying that they didn't send their techs around or call about it - but they couldn't fix the problem and it seems like it's a well known problem by their comments.  They refunded $10/day for the inconvenience of not having hi-speed upon my complaining at check-out - which while appreciated, wasn't the same as having reliable internet service.

We also had problems with the tv reception - which their office person came out to check and then confirmed that the problem was in other rooms as well!

While the location is great - the actual accommodations are rather worn and in need of some repair. For example, water backs up in the bathrooms (sinks and tub) and hot water takes more than a minute to make it through the pipes. The blinds are tilted or not functioning completely. The microwave light is not operational.

The complementary breakfast will likely not satisfy most folks - mini-bagels and muffins - but nothing substantial or particularly nourishing.

This place has tremendous potential!

Definitely coming back! Very well furnished condo units and the views of Lake Tahoe from the livingroom are absolutely breathtaking. The only downside I can take away from our stay here is if you are planning to stay upstairs (loft units); be prepared to carry your belongings up two flights of stairs because there are no elevators. There are a wide variety of places to eat within walking distance from the lodge as well as a CVS and a Safeway for your grocery needs.

Lakeshore Lodge definitely has an amazing view... The lakefront view and private beach are easily worth the price of admission.

The staff were helpful and knowledgeable about local restaurants and activities.

The hotel itself is on the older side; call it rustic if you want.  Our room was clean but there was no micro-fridge or microwave. The bed is in serious need of replacement. The mattress was horrible! But the wifi was good and strong.

We also had a couple's massage at the spa and it was phenomenal.

I would give this place 5 stars but the very old bed just tanked it for me as I have some back issues.

I do not write many reviews but this place is definitely worthy of my review. We stayed for 2 nights in March in one of the lower lakefront condos. The Condo was very clean and although the décor is a bit old I found it to be very charming and cozy. I did not expect to have cleaning each day like in a hotel or the amenities in the room similar to a hotel. But to my surprise they provide the same items like towels, dryer, iron, and coffee which was nice.

The living room has a sliding glass window that leads to a covered patio and walks right out on to the private beach with a spectacular view of the entire lake, and mountains on both California and Nevada side. The parking is free and right in front of the door. Casinos and skiing minutes down the street but far enough to feel like you are somewhere else entirely. The staff was very friendly and even quick to respond when I e-mailed questions to them before our arrival.

If you are looking for a quiet, romantic weekend this is definitely the place. I would absolutely stay here again.

I was try key amazed by this place.  The lobby is super cozy and the employees are so nice and wonderful. The views are gorgeous and it's right on the lake. The room with the kitchen is perfect! The bathroom can use a little updating (very short toilet and in an awkward spot in the bathroom). The decor is that of a cozy cabin. The kitchen was stocked with all the required utensils to cook a great dinner or any meal. The negative was the parking lot was a little hard to find at first and the dry sauna is not turned on and ready to be used at a moments notice. The hot tub is heated to perfection! The hotel does not have 24 hour lobby staff however they do provide an after number to call in case if you are in the need of any assistance. The wifi was great but there definitely is not enough outlets for phones, tablets, etc. The hotel does not provide a breakfast but the lobby does have coffee & hot chocolate for the majority of the day. The keys are HUGE actual keys and not key cards which is a plus and a minus. It's only about 2 miles from state line and about 1/4 mile from a grocery store and CVS is in the same parking lot.  We will definitely stay here again and next time we will try the condos.

Don't expect anything fancy. Basic room and looks dated but it is clean. Only queen bed available with log style bedroom furniture. Bathroom is small, shower only. Exterior of the lodge could use some makeover. To make up for all of this? The fantastic full view of the lake! The beach is just a few feet away. The big con is the thin walls. You can hear the guests from the adjacent room and the footsteps from the room above. Not bad at all for the price though.

Let me start by saying that this was a fantastic place to stay, even though there were some small inconviences. When we arrived the street was closed due to construction in the parking lot. It was loud and quite destracting. We checked in and Chelsea at the front desk told us that the constuction does not happen on the weekend. We got to our room on the ground floor and the noise was even worse.  After going back to the office, we were gladly given a different room on the 3rd floor. The noise wasn't so bad there.  The room was nice, could use some updating but very cozy none the less. Had an incredible view of the lake from our balcony. Small fireplace added to the charm and it was nice because it was a little cold in the evenings. Since we checked in on a Thursday it was pretty quiet but come Friday our neighbors had checked in and we could hear their voices, the walls were pretty thin. When I had a second chance to go down to the office I spoke to Chelesa again and mentioned the fact that the construction was very annoying. She applied a 10% discount to our stay and offered another discount if we wanted to come again. Overall, the staff was very accomidating, the room was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed the spectacular view.  If you book here make sure to get a lake view room. We will definitely be coming back again!

Lake view is pretty good, but that is about it

We arrived Sat, 10-18-14
**Heater didn't work, had to be fixed
**Cable TV did work, had to be fixed
**No light bulb in lamp near bed, I went to front desk to get a bulb
**No refigerator in the room
These are things that are obvious that the room was not checked before we arrived'
The pilot light on heater was out, the small cable boc didn't work, and no light bulb

The Hotel was built in 1966 and it doesn't seem to have had a major renovation in may years.
No Continental Breakfast

I wouldn't trust the SPA
No Desk in the room.  There is a table that is 30" circular, but if you put a notebook on it, there is no room for anything else.
I'm on the 3rd floor and there is only one elevator and that is on the other side of the building.

The front desk help is good, BUT  this is an old place.

It probably works for "young" ski people, but if you are looking for good accomodations, this place doesn't have it.

A friend and I enjoyed a two-night stay here just before Christmas and were very pleased with our stay. The staff was very helpful and accommodating (though not "fake friendly" like some hotel staff), and the price was right.

The hotel itself is pretty basic and on the older side (for instance, it has actual room keys, versus electronic keys), so don't expect fancy amenities, but it is much more affordable than other lakefront properties and you can't beat the view! It has a regular swimming pool (closed in winter) and a lovely hot tub, which is open year round.

I really enjoyed staying at this place. Get the top floor with the fireplace. Amazing lake views, balcony, and cozy decor. Reasonable prices and great friendly staff. Not five just due to age of property but I will stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay here, Kevin and Stacey were very nice during Check in and thru out our stay, we came in early and our rooms were not ready yet, but Kevin was very polite about it and found us 1 room where we could leave our things while we wait for the other room to be ready. Stacey also called us in the room to make sure we did not need any cleaning service before the maids left for the day. Overall we were very pleased with their service. My sister actually cancelled a future reservation at another place and booked this place instead. Great view of the Lake... great location..near to other points of interests... thanks Kevin and Stacey!!! You guys made our stay really enjoyable!!! Keep up the good work!!!

I just came back from Tahoe trip.

I picked this hotel based on location using google map. I was looking for something that over-looking the lake at sunset.

We stayed 2 nights at Tahoe Lake Shore Lodge and Spa.
It was one of their corner room. 2 whole-side of the walls are glass windows and glass sliding door!

We arrived late at night so I didn't get to see what I had from the beginning. I decided to leave the blind fully open so I can see when I open my eyes in the morning.

At 6:30am, I accidentally opened my eyes and I could not go back to sleep!!!
The view were breathtaking! It was on the 16th feb and the still-full moon was setting over the snowy mountain. As a photographer, I had to grab jacket, camera and tripod and stayed out for hours, followed by "home-made" breakfast on the balcony. I wish I could wake up to this every morning and I promise I'll be an early bird. It's such a romantic place! You don't have to leave the room.

The staffs were friendly and professional. They answered every question I have and requested. The room is very clean, no smell (I am very sensitive to smell).

If I go back to Tahoe I'll stay there again and again and again!

My boyfriend and I booked our stay here for our trip to Tahoe. At first, it looked really shady, being this inn-looking building behind a CVS and Heidi's. However, walking into the lobby, it was nice and cozy. We were welcomed by Dan who was very helpful and he told us everything we needed to know about staying there, and the different activities we could do around the area. He gave us a list of things about the lodge, such as the wifi password, where the spa and sauna are located, and a couple rules such as no pets allowed, and the quiet hours of the lodge.

Here are some things that we liked about the lodge:
-The spa is located on the second floor, which we went to twice because we liked it so much!
-There is free breakfast in the lounge area for guests (Free mini bagels, donuts, muffins, fruit, apple juice, hot cocoa, and coffee)
-The lounge also has a computer with free printing, a microwave, a coffee maker, a TV, some couches to sit in, and a little basket of books (the selection is very small, maybe like 5 books, but they also ask guests to leave some favorites behind so other guests can enjoy as well)
-Our room had a fantastic view of the lake, there's a little patio with chairs that you can sit on, or you can even walk out to the lake
-Maid service was wonderful
-TV with several cable channels such as TLC, E!, TBS, and even Cartoon Network, Nick, and Disney channel for those with kids.
-The fireplace was so cute, and you turn it on by adjusting the thermostat

Here are some things that we didn't like about the lodge:
-We were hoping there would be a little fridge in our room so we could store some food since we were staying for 4 nights, we didn't want to eat out every single day. Instead, we went to the ice machine and used 2 buckets of ice to keep our food okay.
-The room was a bit dark, there were 3 lamps, but it didn't light up the room that well, just enough to see each other i suppose, but the only way to actually make it bright in the room was to open up the curtains
-They didn't really have room service or their own eatery (besides the free breakfast) which I suppose made sense, since it wasn't like a hotel, it's more of just a place to sleep. We had to either go out and eat, or we drove down to the Raley's and bought groceries. But again, no fridge, and no kitchen either

My boyfriend and I made a booking error, since we decided a week before that we would stay an extra night, it ended up being Check in Monday, check out Thursday morning, Check back in Friday, check out Saturday morning. We had no place to stay Thursday night, so we went back to the lobby and spoke to Laura, and she was very helpful and she moved the date back one day (so check in Monday, check out Friday) with no problem.

Overall, we'd probably stay here again, now that we know what to prepare (microwavable food like instant noodles, haha)

*** This is a LODGE, not a hotel. I'm kind of referring to some past reviews. At first, I was kind of shocked at what we received, even just looking at the outside of the lodge, but I remembered that this was not a hotel. Referring back to my "dislikes" list, there's no room service because it's a lodge. There's no fridge because it's a lodge. This place is just to mainly serve as a sleeping place, it's not some Vegas hotel you see on the strip that provides you with everything you want, it's just a cozy place for you to go back to after a long day out in the snow, where you can rest, shower, and sleep.

The rooms are nothing spectacular... but on the same token, I'm far from a hotel snob!  The view alone makes my stay absolutely worth it!!  Gorgeous view of the lake and right above the pool and Jacuzzi...

I didn't notice the directions for the TV posted on top of the DVD player, so it did take me a minute to figure that out, but luckily I'm quick.  ;-)

I came out to Tahoe to get away from the chaos of work... so that I could actually get some work done, and feel entirely accomplished.  Listening to the crash of waves both day and night and getting to sit out on balcony to feel the cool breeze... Perfection.

I could do this stay yearly.

Well i got here dec 26 and stayed for 3 days
Honestly, the room needs an update .  The shower floor made me question weather i needed flip flops or not .. With mold yuck

We requested a room with  a kitchenette weeks prior to our arrival and where surprised to find out they didn't receive this request.. I was so mad but tired i decided to let it go, i requested an extra seat cushion for the chairs on the balcony and never got them.   The view was the best part and cable but honestly i wouldn't stay here . Im surprised that whoever owns this hotel doesn't invest in comforters with better quality and the door in the bathroom didn't even close unless u jerked on it .  Im giving the other hotels a try ... Next time im going to take pictures of the hotel room .

I give a 5 star review to this lodge hotel after 3 nights stay during Thanksgiving holiday.

There are many reasons to backup my review, but I just want to highlight a few as follows:
1) spacious room with big closet and multiple drawers, and unique decorations like wooden wall with hanging rug and old portraits to create a cabin feeling;
2) spectacular lake view from the patio;
3) TV with close to a hundred channels to choose from plus DVD player;
4) each room is equipped with gas stove fireplace, making you feel spring in any season;
5) powerful shower refreshes you in the morning and soothes you each night;
6) customer service at the front desk is superb as well, having given us a lot of useful information about gondola lift, Heavenly ski package and free parking area etc, and they even provided free morning breakfast on Thanksgiving day;
7) Safeway and CVS are within 4 min drive, and ski rentals and restaurants scatter around;
8) easy access to the beach, heated swimming pool and free hot chocolate and coffee at guest lounge are extra points to add on...

Area for improvement:
1) I'm 5'1 tall, but I can't reach to see through the cat eye peek hole on the main door, and the toilet bowl is on the contrary too low for my legs.
2) shower room is pretty small for a normal size guy, which means every time you turn on the tap, the chilling cold water will inevitably spill onto your body before the warm water flows out.

Overall I'm satisfied with the room and service at this lodge and will come back next season to try their spa service.

Great bang for your buck! This was less than half the price of the nearby ski resorts and casinos (Heavenly, Marriott, Harrahs, etc) with free parking, free wifi, a covered patio practically on the lake, a small continental breakfast and a very helpful staff. The decor resembles a log cabin - a small fireplace in the corner and big wooden bed posts, chairs, doors, and even mirrors. The staff downstairs had good recommendations about places to go and were really prompt about cleaning the room each morning.

I didn't get to use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice. The walls are a bit thin so you do hear people walking around and talking sometimes - just a fyi for light sleepers. Next time I'm in the Tahoe area, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Certainly nothing fancy, but the waterfront views are outstanding.  Renovations are nicely done as well as log cabin-style furnishings.
My only complaint is getting to hear the neighbor talk in his sleep and fart all night.  The walls seem to amplify all the sounds in the building.  I feel bad for the newly-married couple that checked in last night!

I was recommended this place by my boyfriend whom had stayed her years prior with his family. I was looking for something centrally located in Tahoe and responsibly priced. Kevin answered the phone when I called to make a reservation and he was AMAZING. My boyfriend said he saw a price online that was no longer featured when I had looked 2 days later. Kevin was so helpful and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond! He gave me a really great room, with a lake view and  with a happy birthday card for my boyfriend was waiting on the table.

I cant wait to come up from SF and stay here again!

Bought a groupon for this place and the hubby and i were pretty impressed with it. Room is definitely rustic looking and cozy. The rooms have a dvd player which was a plus seeing as it was storming outside, so we went next door to the redbox at cvs and rented a dvd. The balcony overlooking the lake was great. We had really great views of the lightning storm that took place. Plus when we woke up this morning it had snowed overnight so the beach was covered in snow. Only downside we had was that the walls are pretty thin and you can hear everything. The little continental breakfast was substantial. The hot cocoa was really yummy and they had mini bagels with cream cheese, plus a toaster, score! All in all we enjoyed it and look forward to coming back over the summer and enjoying more of the beach, plus their spa area!

Just so you  know, Lake View is not the same as Lake Front. We got the Lake front apartment (which is owned by private owner but we still get the same service like the hotel guests) the view was Amazing! Its my first time to Lake Tahoe and I fell in love! It was Spring but still snowing! I used to live in Laguna Beach and see beautiful view everyday, but boy oh boy, Lake Tahoe with snowy mountain on the background surely beats boring and crowded beach!
The apartment itself was great. Didn't have any complain. 1 bedroom with a small dining table and good size living room + kitchen that has a lake/beach view. Great location. You can walk to CVs, dinner, bars or groceries.
Definetly will be staying at this place again!

We found this location right on the lake. Absolutely stunning views. They have a pool, a hot tub, a hot sauna, and the rooms are right on the beach. This is the perfect location!! They have clean rooms, comfortable beds, great staff, and they are really affordable. Sometimes you'll even find a groupon deal for them!

They even have kitchen rooms and theres a safeway down the street. Right down the street they also have Adventure Mountain which is a great place to go sledding with the kids and it's only $25 a car!

Don't look anywhere else, this is the place you'll want to stay!

I reserved a room right on the beach overlooking the lake. The view is beautiful in the condo was clean. I had a friend come with my family and she slept on the pullout couch and said it was quite comfortable.
The resort is in walking distance of several restaurants and also a grocery store.
The maid staff was attentive making sure to clean everything in a timely matter.

This hotel was wonderful! Our room had an amazing view of the lake. The staff was fabulous. Shanna and the rest of the staff were professional, courteous, helpful, caring, and just plain fun!

When we needed a mini fridge Shanna was on it and made sure we had one ready and cold before we checked in. Meg even gave us girls a ride to the Smowglobe winter music festival and the casinos! And when we needed our room turned over, the cleaning crew was fast, efficient, and polite.

Our room stayed toasty with the built in fireplace/furnace, given the extreme weather conditions this stay; (high winds of 40mph and freezing temperatures of 5 degrees Fahrenheit).

The bed was so comfortable, I felt like buying the exact same matress. And the showers were nice and hot. Perfect from after a day of snow play.

My only critic is that the towels were not 100% clean, I recognized some lipstick residue on a couple hand towels. .. they smelled a bit too "bleachy" and we're very rough. .. they needed replacement.

I will definitely consider staying here again for my next trip to beautiful South Lake Tahoe!

The accommodations were outstanding . A spectacular view of Lake Tahoe. A cozy gas fireplace in every room. And staff members willing to help you on every little concern you had about your stay. All in all I give it 5 out of 5 stars and a must stay at Hotel when you're in Lake Tahoe. Me and my wife are definitely coming back here next time we are in the area.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this lodge this past weekend hoping to have the perfect view of the lake. We were so happy that the lodge was everything we expected, actually, it exceeded our expectations. I requested for a room next to the lake and it was delivered instantly. When we walked into our room, we were breath taken by the magnificent view. It was so beautiful! We had a view of the shore, lake, and mountain. It was definitely a sight to remember and waking up every day with this beautiful view definitely made our trip better.

Our room had a small fireplace controlled by the thermostat - it was very cute and romantic. The room was rustic and lodge like, which we enjoyed. The bathroom was small and only had a stand up shower, but we didn't care. We stayed here for the view, and its close proximity to many great restaurants was very convenient. Everything  was in walking distance. We will definitely be back!

Thank you to the friendly staff. They were awesome!

This place is the ultimate example of "this place would be amazing IF...". First, everyone is right this place has AMAZING views if you're facing Lake Tahoe (otherwise you're facing the parking lot and sure the hobos outside we saw at night are not as romantic but i digress..). We had a corner unit, which are the only units with almost a panoramic view, and it was breathtaking. However.....

This is why the three stars is ONLY for the view, which I guess nature gets 2 of those stars. The place is SEVERELY outdated! I mean it's like taking a beat up 1979 dodge, slapping some cheap paint on it and rolling it at a classic car show. Some things just don't fit together... The outside is dated, the inside is dated, the rooms are almost all wood, including a bedframe that you have to get used to and not hurt yourself on, the kitchen looks like something out of a 70's sitcom, the balcony did not give us any real security and the decor just didn't match the beautiful view. There is only ONE elevator which is clear on the other side of the place so this means taking up any bags... a pain! Either you have to use the elevator and walk the entire way over to the other side or you act like a rent mule and carry up bags up 2-3 flights of stairs. Then on top of that... they have spaces between the wood balcony so the person upstairs is smoking dropping cigarette buds on our balcony... sweet and the type of mood setter we were looking for!

THE ABSOLUTE WORSE THING... the paper thin walls!!!! It was mentioned here and other places but we heard each and every move the people upstairs and their kids made, heard the people next door talking like they were in the room with us (btw who the h*** brags about being tased?!) and this happened ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT UNTIL 2 AM!! We had to leave the TV on the entire night just to have white noise!

The customer service was good but would we ever stay in that place again... maybe on the top floor of a corner unit or maybe the two story condo units which then you only have to worry about maybe one side person but we really are not sure about this place again even with the views. It's shame since the views really are great but everything else about this place is basically a motel 6 at tahoe rates.

We had a room with the lakeview.

Absolutely stunning. It was snowing and cold when we arrived and stayed. Balbijou is kinda hidden and the Tahoe Lakeshore is also kinda hidden.

The room's view was stunning. There patio is great to have and in the AM, it is great to have that fresh cold air to stretch too. There is an outdoor pool and the beach is THERE!

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and where to go.
Our room had a "fire place" and it got warm pretty quick.

Bathroom was kinda small, but nothing to seriously cry about.
While I say this is somewhat hidden, it is by the main road and walking distance to many amenities.
