My husband and I went to the Highland Games in Estes Park and booked a hotel the week before. Unfortunately, we could only find the Bighorn Mountain Lodge and shelled out $150 a night for it which if it was a decent place then no problem but it was not. There was a pool but it was a bit cold for an outdoor pool and the hot tub was cold. The stairs going to the upper level rooms were wobbly and dangerous and one of them actually broke. The management put up caution tape blocking it from being used but it stayed that way for a full day maybe longer as it was that way when we left. The room had a King size bed but the top mattress was not even a mattress it was more of a pad. The room did have a mini fridge and microwave which was the only plus. There was a TV but no channels came in clearly, there was snow not on the mountains but on the tv people. I'm sure booking only a week in advance of a big event had much to do with the rate we paid but I can't give it more than 1 star....
