As always, it really gets down to what your needs are.  This place saved us with a last-minute reservation.  It has a beautiful, classic-Estes location.  When we "vacate", we're not interested in doing dishes, cleaning, taking out trash, as this place expects of you.  And overall, it felt more like a summer camp, where you are the kids and the owners are the counselors.  Perhaps they spend a tad too much time there and have become a bit too micro-managing?  Also, the wifi is unapologetically very slow, and cell service rare/random.  I would not go back, though for others it might be perfect.  I would highly recommend Idlewilde just down Tunnel Rd. instead.

Our first trip to Estes Park was two years ago and exactly two years later, we returned and we returned to Rockmount!!!  Sure there are lots of places to stay in EP, but why take a chance when we thoroughly enjoyed the first experience. It was even better the second time, notably because the weather was much better this time than last time, but also because of how Rockmount continues to take pride in their facility. Considering the flooding they experienced along with the rest of the area in Sept 2013, they have recovered well. We returned to stay in the one bedroom cabin called Shadow Mountain and found that the off-season rate had only increased from $110 to $128 a night. Well worth the price. The facility is gorgeous with the river running through it. It were greeted by a lazy heard of Elk right outsider door one morning. Holly was a great host and very friendly and happy. The place exudes relaxation!!!!  So quit the search and just call them. Thank me later.
