Got a great deal of buy one get one 75% off offered on their website.  Hotel is outstanding compared to what's offered in Estes Park, which is pretty much all old motor lodges where your door opens to the parking lot (and the weather).  Room very clean and the place seemed updated throughout with a LCD TV in the room, too.  Bartender was great, so was the huge and deep pool and nice new hot tub they boasted about at check in.  Very good stay - no reason to stay at limited service type motels! Ask for free late checkout to enjoy the pool more.

The website was very misleading - we expected far better.  We stayed on the very end of the hotel next to a kennel and we could hear the dogs in the morning.  The corridor reminded us of of an abandoned hospital and there was a nasty stench in the air.  The room itself actually was a good size, but that was the only perk.  The price we paid ($120 & $150) per night was way overpriced.  this place should be in the $75-$85 range.

Oh crap, is that a blood stain on the carpet?  So the hotel is nothing fancy, but it was cheap at $63/night thru Travelocity.com .  It is also located right near downtown, which makes life easy when you have a craving for silly tourism.

The one place with an indoor pool in Estes. The service was exceptional and Our room was nice and quiet! The heated pool was great on the snowy cold days! Perfect for our family to take a nice warm swim and just relax! Great Job! We'll be back soon.

Well, I suggest a cabin or a more updated hotel. We were put on a floor, looking out at the ground, literally...and this floor was the animal floor(barking dogs accross the hall), then we looked around, and long black dog hairs were scattered all over the sheets, as if someone did not even clean the sheets. We asked for a room higher up with a view, they said all the rooms have terrible views anyway. Then my wife wanted to leave. So we called again and complained about the hair everywhere. They put us in a suposedly pet-free room...with a great view! Pool was great, lots of vending machines all over (even with quarts of ice cream), and has a hot tub. But its old and not like the marketing photos.

We got a great last-minute deal for this place on Priceline and enjoyed staying here. It wasn't very flashy but very nice for a hotel. The King bed was cozy, everything was very clean. I'd def stay here again.

A decent hotel for the money, especially if you plan to spend most of your time outdoors enjoying Estes Park.  It's an older hotel, but nice enough.  No fridge or microwaves, in the event that's important to you.  Dont get a poolside room unless you have kiddis (which i do) as it's all indoors and the noise will probably bother you.  Good sevice.  Breakfast is fair at best (and not free) but they do have free coupons they give out to satisfy unhappy guests or right a wrong.  If $$ is an issue, this is a good solution.

Great customer service. We booked for two nights but had friends go to Vail last minute that we wanted to meet, so at 11AM the second day we asked if we could cancel our reservation for the second night (expecting a no).  Instead, they let us do it with no fee and were extremely nice about it.  I was super impressed and would definitely go back. The staff was friendly each time we walked through the lobby.

Fortunately I got a room for only $45, and that was a reasonable price. Would have been upset about paying full price. This place needs a remodel, the pictures are very misleading, and our room smelled like a fat sweaty guy.

Decent place since there are few options in Estes. Normally wouldn't get four stars but better than most places up here.  We got a deal from the Denver Post and went to try it out. Staff is friendly. We were on second floor in the four story tower.  Room was clean.  Bathroom was clean.

The place is dated, but everything works. Beds are not extremely comfortable but again clean, which is most important to me.  It was quiet overnight.

They have a large indoor pool with half being 9 foot deep. Impressive.  Hot tub was HOT but nice. Area around pool has pool tables and foosball. Would be good for families.

All in all a good deal.  Take the time to walk into town for dinner. Restaurant attached was not great.

My husband and I stayed at the Rocky Mountain Park Inn for a pre-Valentine's getaway (3 days 2 nights).  It started off kinda "meh" and went majorly downhill for there!

When we checked in my husband stood at the front desk for a few minutes while one staff member was on the phone and 3 others just stood back and stared at him.  I was annoyed by the lack of customer service, but we were checking in a couple hours early and they had our room ready, so we just chalked it up as a wash.  The room was mediocre at best, but it was clean and we got a deal via Expedia so we weren't too worried about it.  The bed was large, soft but firm, but the sheets were dreadful, super cheap and scratchy.  I ended up having to wear a long sleeve shirt and long pajama pants b/c it was irritating my skin so much.  The towels were also cheap and scratchy.  The walls were extremely thin.  We could hear housekeeping vacuuming, kids running up and down the halls yelling, doors closing as people left their rooms, and a couple in the same hall as us having romantic relations!  Also, their free WiFi was very spotty and would kick you off repeatedly and randomly, thank goodness they don't ask for you to pay for the WiFi usage!  Considering the price we paid it was annoying, but tolerable.  Had we paid summer prices I would have been livid.  As it was, our visit got worse...

At 9:15 am on Sunday morning we were awaken by a loud knock on our door.  My husband got up and asked who it was, but received no response.  He walked to the door and looked through the peephole to find a staff member standing in front of the door.  He again stated that we were still in there and she needed to come back later.  She proceeded to knock again.  He went to put on pants and shirt on so he could open the door, while doing so she knocked again.  He was yelling the entire time that we were in there.  When he got back to the door she had moved on to another room.  I then called the front desk and spoke to a man named Camden.  I first verified that check out was at 11am, and then asked to speak to a manager.  Upon asking for a manager Camden laughed at me and said something to the effect of, "Not really, I used to be a manager."  I then asked why we were being disturbed before our check out time and he said that it was "typical" behavior because we did not have a "do not disturb" sign out, and that housekeeping had started knocking on room doors at 8am (please remember this is SUNDAY MORNING!)  He then stated that a member of the staff was deaf and that may have been the reason she did not hear us yelling.

My husband then walked down to the front desk and asked to speak to Camden.  He asked Camden, "what's so funny about asking for a manager?"  He began stammering and explained that he thought it was funny because he himself used to be a manager, but his intent was not to laugh at my request (he never stated to me that was his reason for laughing).  My husband then demanded to know why we were being disturbed at 9:15, almost 2 hours before our check out time, and he could not produce an answer.  He then directed him to the comment cards and stated that we was not the only guests who had complained and that we needed to fill out the card so management would see it.  He then asked Camden if there was a deaf staff member working here.  It is important to point out that we are not blaming the staff member, my husband just wanted to see if he would receive a different response from what I was told over the phone.  He immediately stated that there was, and went on to say how he wished she worked elsewhere.  That statement did not correct the situation, nor did it make him look like a competent representative of the company. My husband asked him who would be seeing the comment card and he gave me the name Chris Cook along with an e-mail address.

My husband immediately came back to the room and wrote an e-mail to Mr. Cook explaining our experience.  After a few days Mr. Cook, the "Rooms Division Manager", replied apologizing for what happened during our stay and stated that our experience with Camden would "be addressed".  He also stated that there is a "Do Not Disturb" sign in our room and we should have had it displayed to prevent their deaf staff member from banging on our door.  My husband replied to the e-mail asking if there was anything that Mr. Cook, or the hotel, would be doing to make amends for our terrible experiences.  That was on February 12th, and as of today, the 24th, we have received no response.

Just wanted a quick after xmas getaway (pet sitters don't get much time off and we need it after x week) Found deal on Expedia that was under a $100. I don't get the complaints on the rooms as our room was really nice. The hall carpet needs stretched but as the daughter of a carpet installer I can tell you a hall with that many doors not an easy or cheap/quick project. Bathroom nice, beds very comfortable. I liked the little pillows super cushy. We had a 2nd floor room w/ a balcony that looked out over the pool/game area. Which was nice I could watch and wait till the noisy kids went away before going down. We got a nice call in the evening to check on us make sure we didnt need anything. Great location easy to get to both 34 and 36 and places to eat in all directions. Pool was heated enough for me but not him. We live an hour away and make it to Estes a lot we like to try to stay some place new each time. This so far is top 3 for us.
New great working LCD, every thing clean well organised and working. Except key cards but that is technology issue (uggg I hate those things).
Only confusing thing was check in wasnt till 4 check out at 11 but restaurant only served lunch??? maybe it's an off season less staff thing IDK

If you want a full service hotel in Estes Park, Rocky Mountain Park Inn is the most economical choice. The hotel is fairly old but is still well maintained. The carpets could use some updates. The condition of the room is good otherwise. Room is a bit small but cozy. The body wash, shampoo and lotion they provided are of good quality.

There is not a square inch of luxury in this hotel. Everything is dated but works. No movies for rent on TV, no glass ware in the rooms just plastic cups.

It is well situated within a fun 20 minute stroll to the shopping and Dining district, There is lots of ice and vending machines, free wifi and a decent though spartan looking restaurant. The best feature if you have Kids is a great indoor pool with some pool and foosball tables adjacent to it, great for chilling out after long hike and out of the hot sun.

I'm giving a frumpy hotel 4stars because you don't have many options up in Estes park in terms of Hotels with room service and food on premise,  everything seems to be small cabins with kitchenettes.

Front desk people are really friendly and will give you tips on where to go for hikes. The hotel also offers complementary evening cocktails in their bar. We didn't go to it but at least it's there for you. The hotel also has indoor pool and whirlpool for after your long days at Rocky Mountain. Clean rooms but nothing super fancy.

This place is what it is - a cheap hotel in a touristy town.

Only a couple of things to complain about. My boyfriend and I stayed up here for our anniversary. When we got there they didn't have a king-bed room that we had reserved so we got a two double-bed room instead. But they did knock the price down by 30%, so can't complain too much. Last thing, and it was actually more funny to us than anything, is that they told us we were getting a "room with a view". Turns out the view was of a giant electrical tower right outside the window and the parking lot. Beautiful.

Oh! Almost forgot! Do not go to breakfast at their restaurant. The buffet is not impressive. They didn't have sausage! You might not care, but I love sausage. Because of that I ordered eggs benedict - my favorite food. It took at least 30 minutes to come out and when it did, the sauce tasted like pure mayo. Sure, it's an ingredient, but not the only one. Not yummy.

But overall the hotel piece wasn't bad. Clean, decent rooms, good wifi, and within walking distance of downtown. If we go down to Estes again when we're a bit strapped for cash we'll probably go back. But if we can afford to do it, there's a lot of nicer places to go (Silver Moon Inn, if you want my recommendation).

stayed here back in Feb. 2014 and I was just disgusted by this hotel. I paid $150.00 for one night and our room wasn't cleaned. I found hair clips, birth control, and our trash cans had trash in it still. I stayed on the 3rd fllor and could smell the mold throughout the whole hotel including our room. The décor was way way out dated and staff was rude when brought to their attention. I will not be back. Ever.

I would give negative star if there is an option. I am not sure how this place is  still running. Dirty, stinky smelling rooms and hallways. Terrible place to stay. I would recommend to go for other places. Our stay was like a nightmare.

Do NOT have your wedding there.  I repeat, DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING THERE.  It has been a complete mess, with the day-of-planner not showing up to appointments or staying for the entire wedding.  On top of that, guests got stuck in the elevator; the reception room was left unlocked with all of our stuff in; and after the fact we are being tremendously overcharged.  This place has not changed with new ownership, and I still am incredibly sad we choose to give it a chance.

We had a wedding to attend at the Stanley Hotel in Estes but at $300/night that was out of the question so we went to a hotel booking site and got a great deal for a room at Rocky Mountain Park Inn (RMPI) for only $98!   The hotel was within walking distance of downtown Estes and the Stanley and across the street from the lake, so definitely no complaints about the location.  The lobby is also very nicely decorated and we were greeted and promptly checked in, which was critical since we were running late.  We passed by the indoor pool (which we unfortunately didn't have a chance to partake of on this trip) on the way to our room.  The hallway was definitely dated and had a funky smell which made me nervous about the state of our room, but we were pleasantly surprised - the room was updated and nicely decorated, though nothing fancy.

Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended.  When we crashed that night after the wedding, I discovered that the heater didn't have a thermostat - you just turn the knob and hope it's a setting that will work for you!  As a result I was adjusting that thing all night long.  Also, the beds were horribly uncomfortable - the mattress was super firm which is no good for a side sleeper like me and and top of that my bed was sunken on one side, forcing my to toss and turn and fight gravity every time I rolled over to avoid rolling right off the bed.  As a result, my partner and I only got about 4 hours of actual sleep and were awake at 4am sore and cranky.  We turned on the TV and were disappointed to find that RMPI only has basic cable so there was very little to watch.  I also had a bug bite on my knee that was discovered during this time - not entirely sure it came from our room or from some time earlier, but just to be safe we heat treated our bags and clothes when we got home to make sure we didn't bring any unwanted house guests with us.

Bottom line:  this is a great place for families with young kids because of the pool or for for people whose primary concern is a great location.  Not so great if you need a comfortable bed to get through the night or need more entertainment options on your TV for a longer term stay.

Basic rooms, but top notch customer service!  Manager out walking grounds and called just to check in and see if I needed anything.  Pool and rec area are great for families and large groups.  Booked on line last second and very pleased with the result.

Place looks dirty and the halls are over powering in lemon scent. I guess to Cove up the funk. The place is dated really not much to say since there really isn't much here at the "resort"  they do have a free happy hour but only offer pbr and coors light plus some wines. The tender did not even put out bar nuts for everyone just the regulars. Over all stay here if there is nothing else.

This place is what it is...it's like $100 a night, it's a place to stay, centrally located in Estes Park.

I had previously been here because I actually used to live and work in Estes and we lived in the old hotel right next to this place. It was newer then and nicer too.

Now, though, it's pretty divey/dumpy. Definitely needs a full renovation. The bed was ok, the pillows were good, the restroom and everything were/seemed clean. The TV was too big for the entertainment center and we actually had to turn the entire thing just to view the TV...but yeah.

Overall, a good alternative to staying on the outskirts of Estes around the lake, especially if you want to be near the main area.

Rocky Mountain Park Inn,  please, hire a handyman who's a bit more proactive instead of making an easter egg hunt game of 'what's broken in my room'  for the guests.

When we walked in to check-in, the employee behind the counter was on the telephone dealing with the busy Labor Day weekend reservations.  He seemed busy, but all the while we waited and he never even acknowledged our presence across the counter.  I kept trying to make the initial eye contact and just greet him, but 10 minutes later, nothing.  No nod, no "It'll be one moment", nothing.

We eventually got checked in and found our way to our room; a dimly light, sour smelling Budget-inn type room (without the budget).  We dropped our bags and sat on the bed only to discover the bed frame was broken.   No problem, we'll just call the front desk... the button to call the front desk didn't work either.

Later, attempting to read a book under a light that was flickering uncontrollably, I realized I had spent way too much money for such lousy accommodations.

Stayed 2 nights after getting a deal on hotels.com ($65/night for two doubles beds).

Checked in and lady was cordial, but definitely not as friendly as most hotel staff that I'm used to. I asked how late the restaurant was open and was told that it only served breakfast and lunch, but they did have bar food. I asked how late that was served and she said it depended on when they felt like closing everything down. I asked if any restaurants nearby were open (7:30pm at this time) and she only could name 1. I noticed a sign saying everyone staying with pets would be on the first floor, so I was happy when my room was on the third.

Parking lot had plenty of parking and was well lit, which is important to me as I travel alone.

Now, as everyone has said, the buildings are all dated. The hallways smell like chlorine and mold, there were stains on the shower curtain and the bathroom tile was disgusting. But the bed I slept in looked clean (although I've been itching all day and I'm guessing they must use a really harsh detergent as I have a lot of chemical sensitivities). Lots of pillows, bedding was soft and comfy. Bed frame was broken, so had to make sure I was in the middle of the bed, or I would roll off the edge. There's no view from the window, but I wasn't expecting much for only $65/night. Shower floor seemed sketchy (they have a no-slip mat down, which was good, but it's definitely seen a lot of feet) but no trouble with the hot water. I really like the shampoo and soap they provide! Toilet did not have a very strong flush. If I had had any *ahem* bathroom troubles, I would have been nervous about flushing.

One thing I wish I had known, their wifi is awful. Like...truly awful. I brought my laptop with the hopes of getting some studying and work done and just gave up after an hour. Did any internet searching from then on using my phone and my wireless data plan.

The first night was interesting. There was apparently an obnoxious teenage girl convention in town and so until about 1:30am, there was constant giggling, screaming and sprinting through hallways. There is no sound proofing, so you'll hear it all and this is a place where there are lots of little kids. I knew about it ahead of time and should have brought ear plugs. I would really suggest having some with you to be safe. Having the fan on the AC run constantly helps too.

Second night has been better. No screaming or running children that I can hear. I'll update if that changes.

I would have given 3 stars if the wifi had been better or if the room had been cleaner. Overall, the price was right, so no major complaints, but if I could afford it, I would definitely go elsewhere.

It's not The Stanley,  but at half the price with more things to do,  this is a great option.  Huge indoor pool, restaurant and bar,  free cocktails,  and an easy to get 2pm check out! Hallway carpet looks new,  but rooms due for renovation.  Sign in the lobby shows their upgrade plans coming this winter.  Room was very clean and everywhere we went the staff was really friendly....everyone said hello to us.

Terrible experience! We booked a room through kayak for Valentine's Day. When we arrived the front desk clerk told us they didn't have a room for us, that they knew of about 5 other people who had paid through 3rd party sites and they had no rooms for. She proceeded to say "they should've called us." This logic somehow still applied after she said another 3 couples had already shown up that day who informed the hotel they didn't receive any calls. She was incredible unapologetic and had a complete disrespect for the situation we were in. They offered us no help or guidance at all. Terrible experience!!!

My partner booked a surprise weekend for us here, knowing I loved the hot tub. Sadly, we were disappointed. The hot tub had already been broken three days when we showed up. I explained I was frustrated by this, given it was the whole reason we chose this hotel. Was told they were happy to cancel our reservation if that bothered me...because clearly we could find another places at 5:30pm on a Friday. Rude. We checked in, disappointed, but resigned.

Their gym has some sort of wonky smell that triggered a coughing fit in my otherwise healthy partner. The cheap beds resulted in waking up in pain. We left our room at 11am, and came back aftet 8pm, and housekeeping had not come by. This is the type of stay I would expect at a $49.99 a night motel, not at a $150 a night hotel and conference center. Be forewarned. This place is only a step above sleeping in a tent.

Very, very good for the price and location. Didn't experience any maintenance issues, room was clean, and there is a lot to do on the property. All staff was friendly, from the front desk to the bartender. The wings we had at happy hour were num num! Adore the 1pm check out, the indoor pool and hot tub.

Two things: The WiFi had a terrible connection, and the entry way to the rooms was wicked slippery due to the snow, and folks were slippin around like an ice rink! Another rug laid down would have taken care of this. :)
