Do not be fooled by cheap rates. Dump hotels in third world countries are better than this pit. We arried 8-27-13 it was dated and smelled so bad. The carpets in hall smelly and nasty. We had trouble getting the door open to our room. When we did it smelled like BO and piss. The bathroon had nasty toleit seat the seling tiles where peeling. the tv did not work right the windoows where fogged over. I went and talked to the staff about it and there fix was a can of air freshner. Needless to say whem we turned down the bed the bedding smelled worse. The bed had spring poking through and made it so we could not sleep. The staff would not do anything or even give me an extra pillow. I called the choice hotel customer service they said i they did not own the hotel. I wanted to leave and they tried sell me a room at the comfort Inn over $150. I asked if I could get a break and they said no I would have to ask the hotel myself. I ended up spending more money and going to the Best Western where I got a great clean room good staff and nice bed. I got my money back but not before the Manager called me a liar and said all I wanted was a free room.. That was not the case. Please check out Trip Advisior adn Hotels.com more of the bad reviews. So if I was a liar so are all 12 others who had the same bad experience as we did. PLEASE SPEND A COUPLE BUCKS MORE AND STAY AT ANOTHER HOTEL!

This place is very outdated but if your priorities are limited to a hot shower, clean bed and a great price, it's a great option in a beautiful setting. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was the typical continental faire.
I would not hesitate to stay here again and use the money I save on a great steak dinner.

Pretty clean - no bedbugs. Otherwise old and in need of an update. But for the price, it is worth considering.

Now this isn't your world class hotel, and I can imagine this place can seem over-priced in the busy summer months. We happened to stay here for two nights last October during a tour of Colorado. We came to be outdoors. That being said, if you're looking for a place to spend all hours of the day in your hotel, then go pick the fancy resort up the street.
The price was just right for us, we also factored in the continental breakfast and the pool/hot tub into the price. The location isn't too far from town, but you'll need a car to get there.
The girl at the desk was polite as she checked us in. Our room was clean with outdated furnishings which is what I expected, but I wasn't worried about it; I suppose I can understand where some people could get the willies... All I ask is the towels, sheets and pillows are clean, and they were.
We didn't use the pool even though it was a nice size (owner says it's the biggest in town), but we did use the hot tub. The once white hot tub is now faded with rings, but this is typical and expected of a white hot tub of it's age. It was not dirty, trust me. I would've skipped it. :)
The breakfast was the typical muffins, toast and cereal, but it was delicious and what we needed for our hiking and fly fishing days a head of us.
All in all I believe this was a good decision on our part. If out dated furniture scares you, then opt for a different hotel

Stayed overnight here 4/27/13 on an outing to Estes Park. Kind of a middle of the road place, not bad but not superior. High points were the swimming pool and hot tub plus a great continental breakfast. Low points were tube style televisions, a bathroom sink that look like it belonged in a junk yard and the ceiling area of the shower was dirty. The bed was comfortable and clean. Weird heating system, an A/C plus heat combo unit that was very noisy when it came on and ran every 20 minutes. Overall, this place is kind of middle of the road between high points and low ones.

Everyone says this place is old and that's the truth. It's not an updated hotel but it works with the "Estes" vibe. More than likely you are gonna sleep there and then get out and enjoy the beauty. For that its perfect. It's pool was nice. The breakfast is hard boiled eggs, waffles, oatmeal, cereal. Don't expect anything fancy. The room had a dingy smell but access to he outside and inside of hotel which made coming and going convenient. The staff was awesome friendly and the hotel is on the run for free downtown shuttle!

Some people have left very poor reviews about this place. This is not a five star hotel but it is a nice budget friendly Inn. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Yes the hotel furnishings are a bit dated, but to our family that is not important. Clean and comfortable are or priorities and this was both. We arrived and we're promptly greeted and checked in. When we got to our room we noticed that there wasn't a fridge or microwave which we needed for medical supplies. We called the front desk and they changed us to the room next door and didn't charge us for the change. The staff is super friendly and willing to help if they can. Breakfast was good. .. waffles, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, etc. Enough to get something for the kiddo to eat and be happy. Give this place a try if you are looking for a budget friendly hotel.

I'm conflicted on whether to give them 2 or 3 stars. I'm going to go with 2. There were more flaws than shiny moments with this place.
I found a deal online. $99 for one night. In Estes Park, that's about fair. What attracted me to this place was that it had an indoor hot tub.
We checked in about 7:30. The attendant was friendly-enough. From the outside, it looked pretty run down. Inside the front office, the fireplace is totally cool looking. It adds a cool point to the place.
We got to our room & we turned on the heater. I don't think it had been turned on this year yet. Wow....the smell. The room & the hotel had a "dirty" feeling to it. But, it really wasn't. It's just old. There wasn't any cable. I didn't know that when I booked. I assumed (my fault) that all hotels just had cable nowadays. I was wrong.
The bed was hard. My husband didn't sleep well. I was out like a light...
They have a cool warmer feature in the bathroom. I appreciated that.
It's an interesting little place. We enjoyed our hot tub time. And it wasn't a loud place to stay. No noisy neighbors.
Breakfast the next morning was ok. My husband was bummed bc there was no breakfast meat available. There were bagels, waffles, and toast. Cereal & oatmeal were also available. They had hard boiled eggs. I actually liked this. I hate when other ppl mess up scrambled or fried eggs. I like hard boiled eggs. It's healthy & easy. My husband gave it a funny look though.
The two older people running breakfast were working their butts off. You could tell they cared.

I stayed here Fall of 2013, shortly after the floods had hit and hwy 7 had just opened into Estes (though not fully repaired by any means, what a drive that was lol) I needed a place to stay as I photograph RMNP each year during Autumn. Our usual hotel decided to close early due to all the flooding so we were scrambling. Also, we needed a place which was pet friendly. Ultimately we decided on the Rodeway Inn.
I couldn't be happier and we found a new host hotel for us anytime we stay in Estes now! The staff was incredible and even knocked 20% off our bill just because they could and took off the pet fee. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. The rooms aren't super fancy but I am not here to stay in the hotel room all day and in the end they were more than comfortable enough. The bed seemed new and very firm. It was also very quiet. One thing I thought which was unique is that there are 2 entrances into the rooms. The back door where the parking lot is and through the hotel hallway. Everything was very clean and well taken care off.
Thanks Rodeway Inn, you gained new customers! We'll be back! May have to take you up on using your conference rooms next time :)
