Established in 1996.
We are a family owned and operated resort in Estes Park. We have been in the hospitality business since the early 60's with different ventures along the way. The purchase and sell of McGregor Mountain Lodge in the 60's and 70's would set up the beginning of Wildwood Inn. When we sold McGregor we kept 7 vacant acres that adjoined and with Quentin (owner) being a retired general contractor, we planned and would build over a period of 6 years, what is now Wildwood Inn.

My wife and I stayed here on a trip to colorful Colorado. Estes Park is not my favorite little town but I do love RMNP. The Wildwood Inn is located about .5 miles outside if RMNP, a most excellent location. We stayed in the one of the Jewel Suites, which had a king size bed, a flat screen TV, gas fireplace, our romm had air conditioning( but it is not needed) and a 2 person hot tub on the deck. I made last minute reservations and got lucky, i got the last room. The staff was super nice and the room was superbly clean. The room was decorated in a trout fishing motif, but that is what i kind of expected. One excellent point was that the bed was super comfy. A plus after hiking all day. The hot tub could have been a bit hotter, but in the cool night air it felt good. The Inn is a couple miles from Estes proper, but there is a free shuttle stop out front. Great value for what I paid, especially in Estes Park. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would/will stay here again.

I'd really like to give this one three and a half stars. This is certainly a place worth staying at.
First off, you get a lot for what you pay for, especially compared to what I'm used to getting for similar prices in other vacation spots or cities.
We stayed in the Fireside suite, which is right above the offices. It is absolutely huge.
Upsides: Full kitchen with plenty of decent cookware, and large dining area. Gorgeous, large-sized fireplace. A clean, new, four-person hot tub on a private deck. Huge, soft, comfy beds with luxurious down pillows and comforters. Private porch with barbecue grill. Two TV's with DVD and VCR, with a nice library of movies to borrow. PLENTY of towels. And did I mention the suite is huge? It's three times the size of many apartments I've lived in, and I'm not exaggerating. Also, there are about 10,000 hummingbirds. They are definitely an attraction. They're hysterical. If you sit on the porch, they will join you. Bathrooms are nice, plenty of hot water, and even the soap is high-quality. They have a special house wine that's rather good, from a local winery. It's very quiet, there's wildlife right up to your porch, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and laid-back. Room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained when we arrived.
Downsides: Hot tub is on the side of the building facing the road. We're _right_ above the office, and during the day, you can clearly hear every conversation that occurs (after about 7pm though, not a peep). The stove is from 1900 BC and is a pain to cook with. The tap water is so hard that I think it would form stalactites if you left the tap dripping. It's foul-tasting, and rendered coffee and anything cooked with it unpalatable, undrinkable, or inedible. I mean, really bad. I poached an egg in it and couldn't get the taste out of my mouth for most of a day. Not all the kitchen lights work (flicker, flicker, buzz!). Could not turn off heat in one bathroom (not sure if this is a bug or a feature). Big glass door facing the road has the blind broken off, so you need to cover it with a blanket if you want privacy.
There's no air-conditioning, but even in summer, the weather is nice enough that it's not too bad, and opening a window was sufficient to keep everything comfy.
The decor is nice, the place is homey and clean, though a lot of touches are rather dated (some decor looks like 70's or 80's). Everything is well-maintained, and comfortable.
You could do far worse than to stay here. The people are nice, the stay is comfy, the amenities are nice. It's not perfection, but it's a really great value, and you get a lot for your money.

My husband and I went here a week before Christmas for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely perfect. We had an amazing view (as requested) with a hot tub right on the deck (which was ready for us upon our arrival) a very nice, clean, room with working fireplace, a bottle of champagne was waiting for us as well. The staff was super friendly, and there are free dvd rentals. We definitely would like to come back to Estes Park, and if we do we are going to stay at the WildWood Inn. In my opinion, location wise, it beats the rest of the lodges in the area.
***As an extra perk, there were elk hanging out for a couple of days right in front of the check-in office! It was pretty cool.

Stayed here last night, very happy. I loved the private jacuzzi, and everything was updated, clean and in great working order. Loved the country decor! Stereo and TV nice and new as well. I loved the gas fireplace and the detail that there was a carbon monoxide detector too! We had a great time, only thing i would change is the bed, it was to firm and i woke up with a slight backache, even my husband commented on the firmness of the bed ( we prefer softer ) We will absolutely be going back this summer!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night while in CO for a friends wedding. Being from CA and a traveler, I have stayed in many hotels in my life. None of them better than this stay!
We arrived earlier than check in time in hopes to get ready for the wedding. They were more than accommodating, kind and friendly!! I am handicapped and couldn't carry my luggage up the stairs to my room so they helped us bring our stuff up to our room.
When we got to our room, it was small, cute, and perfect for our stay. Not to mention, the room was beyond hotel/inn clean. It was the cleanest I have ever seen in a place... Actually cleaner than my house. Beside the astounding cleanliness, the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in my life!
The friendly and helpful service, the cleanliness of the room and the most comfortable bed ever makes me want to go back to visit just for a good nights sleep. The stay was only for one night, but next time will be longer. I couldn't have expected anything better!

My wife and I love coming to Estes Park and have now found a new favorite place to stay. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and updated, the price is right, the hot tub is hot and the views are amazing. I look forward to staying here again soon.

First of all I want to say this is a rather good place to stay and it's only 5 minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park. However, I took 2 stars off because we had some unknown substances on one of our beds and it kept us awake at night. Something on the sheets made both me and my boyfriend very itchy. We found little red specks on the bed. Fortunately neither of us got sick or had bedbugs afterwards. We told the manager about it before we checked out. We are still not sure what caused the itchiness.
Anyway, now to the good parts. We booked the lodge online. They had a stay 2 nights get the 3rd free deal right now. We stayed at Sunbeam room which is just a large studio that comes with two queen size beds, bathroom (with steam shower), microwave, kitchen utensils, toaster and slow cooker. They don't have a kitchen in the Sunbeam rooms, but they have both gas and charcoal grills outside of the room. We grilled some marinated chicken and they were quite delicious. They have a hot tub that's 30 seconds walking distance from our room. Even though it's still fairly warm outside, we soaked there every night. You can book private hours to use the hot tub. Right now they don't have many guests so you can soak there as long as you want. You can rent games and movies for free. They have a really good selection of movies, some are recent, some are classic and they are in all genres.

My wife and I stayed here and purchased an elopement package. We couldn't have been happier with the way everything turned out. The rooms are great. The views are even better. The staff was super friendly and surprisingly accommodating. They brought us a small personal wedding cake to our room the morning of the ceremony and helped us track the unpredictable weather hour by hour! They booked the officiant and got a real beautiful bouquet that was way more than we anticipated. We had a small party of 7-8 guests. We had the option to hold the ceremony anywhere on their property, but because some older less active family members (the hotel is on a steep hill) we opted to hold it downtown in a park. After the ceremony we wanted to have a small lunch and photo time but it started raining! Fortunately they have a small covered pavilion that we used. It was perfect!
Quiet location right outside of downtown. Clean. Friendly staff. Great location.

We loved our room at Wildwood. Since The Boy cannot sleep in a bed, we were specifically seeking out a room with a couch for him, so it was really nice that Wildwood has photos of every specific room on their property. We selected the Marmot studio, which feature a queen bed, in-room spa tub, and a leather couch. We'd studied the room carefully online and so were shocked to discover how much nicer it was in person! VERY comfortable and much roomier and more modern than it looked in the pictures. Plus an amazing view of the mountains and parking right next to the unit!
Our only complaint is that we were told to leave a bag of towels out by 11 am in order to get fresh ones. We took the bag out at 8am, but it stayed out there until the following morning, totally ignored. Luckily we had already made use of the spa by this point so it wasn't that big of a deal but it would be a bit of a concern had we stayed longer than two nights. Oh, and also, as others have mentioned, the wifi is slow. You can stream SD on that connection but forget about much more than that. I had to turn off the wifi on my phone because I was getting faster download speed with my 3G connection!

I've been staying at the Wildwood Inn for several years every time my fiancee and I come to Estes. Though I've never stayed during the summer (I would imagine prices are much higher), during the winter it's an absolute steal, especially considering what you get. We stayed in the Jewel Studio this last weekend, private hot tub on our deck, large room with a clean comfortable bed, fireplace, TV, fridge and mini kitchen. Unless you have an issue of some sort (which we never have in multiple visits) the only time you'll interact with or even see the staff (though they're very friendly when you do) is checking in and out, other than that you get to be in your own little world.
