Very nice rooms, great beds, different comfort levels of pillows (but if you aren't a pillow person you won't even understand what I mean and can ignore that.  If you are then you'll really appreciate it.), hot strong showers, quiet rooms, attentive staff, cookie when you check in (my kids scored two each with a wink from the girl at the counter), breakfast in the am, and a buffet in the late afternoon.  This and it's downtown makes it the place to stay.

Yowser - this place really irked me.  I was 1 day into a multiple day stay.  I got back to my room, took a hot shower and then went wifi hunting.  Nada.  No problem.  I whipped out my apple express and plugged it into the data port.  Nada.  Hmmm maybe it's the port.  I tried the laptop - nada.  I ended up having to use my cell phones data which is SLOOOOW.  So the next morning I packed up my bags and headed to breakfast thinking I'd eat and they could move me.  After sitting through 20 minutes of some kind of religious ministries show they had on in the breakfast area (I much prefer CNN for breakfast) I went to the front desk and said I'd like to check out.  I explained the internet issue and they said sorry have a nice trip.  What?  No "could I offer you another room?  Did you try the data port?"  anything?  Nope.  So I went next door to the Hampden and checked in.  Same owner but maybe it's the guys from Hilton looking in on them the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed here.  Both wifi and cat5.  Yippeee!  Hopefully CNN for breakfast!

We chose this hotel specifically to try a Tempurpedic mattress (which was quite nice).  The rooms are pretty plain for the price you pay, but the furnishings are new and the room is spacious. The breakfast was tasty, and has both hot and cold items available. The boyfriend really liked the coffee.
