i felt like they were pushing a right wing political agenda for some reason, with Fox News on in the lobby TV and some far right radio host's book displayed prominently by the door.

breakfast was really weak. the room was decent though, although the walls seemed thin.  There's better options in Grand Junction.

Really ugly, old, nasty furnishings. Everything is the cheapest of the cheap. Hallway stinks, carpets are dirty, towels do nice double duty as exfoliators.

3 stars for the rate... cheap.. like dirt.  The staff are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

But as to the hotel.. high plains mountain hotel with endless tropical palm & atoll pics throughout the hallway.

The front reception has Fox News on, surrounded by hundreds of crystal unicorns, angels, butterflies, LED penguins, and weird stuff everywhere.

The rooms are old... like REAL old.  Like you will see Nixon era electrical switches you have never seen in your life.  Same with the lighting.  So don't be confused when you lose power at 9pm and no one turns it on until about 1am.  Just sayin'.

this is all I have to say... our Big Lebowski moment:

Travelers beware, spend a few bucks more and stay at another hotel! Let me provide a quick group make up, I  was traveling with my wife, two young boys and small dog when we stayed at this hotel.  Let me start with the positives, ok pool, close to some restaurants, and a nice grass area for the dogs, that's about it.  Hot breakfast you ask?  What a joke, stale biscuits and gravy and terrible coffee.  Old hotel rooms, bumpy floor in tub, thin walls and it smelled very musty.  The TV was a 22" tube style set, picture was green.  In this day and age, $100 bucks for a room, get a clue Ramada, your hotel needs to be featured on Hotel Impossible!  We will never stay again.

If you are expecting to pay affordable prices for a motel, I don't think it's totally fair to criticize the business for not being up on the more modern - and more expensive - accompaniments of higher-priced competitors.

The Ramada Inn would not have been my first choice of places to hang my hat for 2 wks but I didn't want to spend a ton of money on my unexpected stay. They really worked hard on getting me a decent price for the time I was there and I really appreciated their kindness.

    What I Most Appreciated:

Employees - each and every one - was nicer than nice.

Location - quiet area, no freeways and the like. No unsavory elements, if you know what I mean. Close restaurants, some walking distance.

Room - I had a very comfy king bed. I've had arthritis nearly all my life and for me to find a strange bed "comfortable" is really saying a lot.

My TV was a 42" flat screen. Excellent picture.

The AC worked well. I shivered every night I kept it on when I went to bed.

What I especially liked about the room was my balcony/terrace. I get so moody when I'm in a hotel with no ability to open a window and breathe fresh air. The fact that I had an actual balcony was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. I rarely find that in hotels.

They have a pool and a hot tub - both ran a little on the cool side for me but I was happy to see them open in September.

The rooms are cleaned daily. The room staff were quiet pleasant and downright fun to chat with. No, the towels aren't plush...okay, they're rough!

I had my dog and bird with me. Dog had fun. Bird just sat in her cage. Lots of grassy places to walk the pooch and plenty of poo poo bags available throughout the property.

Laundry machines, as well as professional cleaning services are available, as well as ice machines and vending machines.

I saw a lot of families stay here as well as businesspeople, foreign tourists and construction workers. I didn't see any seedy-type people at all.

One  concern I do have is that we complained that the outside doors which require your room card to unlock did not actually lock. So, the property gives the appearance of security but, in fact, it was not. I stopped my late night walks once I realized that and it was a disappointment. We spoke to the front desk and they said they would have the maintenance guys check it out, but nothing happened.

The room was on the larger side, bathroom was adequate and we also had a small fridge, micro and coffeemaker.

Ramada, if you're reading this, FIX YOUR LOCKS TO THE OUTSIDE DOORS. Right is right.

All in all, I would recommend the Ramada  for a good, clean, affordable stay in a central location. Maybe bring your own fluffy towels though.

Nice, clean room, comfortable beds and since we had our dog with us it was wonderful having a room with a sliding glass door that opened right on to a great grassy area for dogs to play and take care of their needs, the hotel even provided a plastic bag dispenser and trash for the dog area.  There were a couple of patio chairs outside our room to sit and enjoy the dogs romping too.  Very enjoyable and would have been nice for a longer stay.

Best motel I've ever stayed at for my dog!!!  There is a huge fenced yard for them to play - pet-friendly rooms open right up to it.  While the motel is a little tired, everything was very clean, the room we got was really big with Queen beds, not doubles (good for kids to share!) and the staff was friendly and helpful.  I will always stay here if with my dog in Grand Junction!    I give it 5 stars with the caveat that this is a 2 star motel -  for a cheap motel, it rocks!

Agree with most of Shari P. review.

Stay here if you and your family want:
    1.  Price.  Paid $60 tax included per night.
    2. CLEAN!
    3. Nice staff.
    4. Swimming pool.
    5. Walking distance to restaurants, gas, & I-70.
    6. Pet friendly!!

DO Not stay if the below bother you:
    1. Decor stuck in the 70's.
    2. Continental breakfast with so so flavor.

Six PROs vs. only 2 CONs. Easy choice!  My family and I will be staying here again while in Grand Junction. Recommended.  Why stay a night or two and spend $100 each night when you can stay here?

    The Good:
The room was clean and fairly quiet. I also found members of the staff to be friendly & helpful.

    The Bad:
The facility is pretty outdated. For example, rather than removing the old ashtrays, mounted to the walls in the hallways, they simply turned them into "planters" by stuffing them full of what appeared to be artificial cemetery flowers. It looked pretty tacky.

I don't so much mind old or tacky, but one problem in particular had me concerned.

The refrigerator & microwave in my room (which both --at one point -- had grounded plugs) were plugged into an ungrounded light-duty extension cord. Someone at the hotel had to have broken the grounding prongs off of the 2 appliances in order for them to be plugged into the extension cord. There was no outlet anywhere near the 2 appliances, so, if they were to be used, they had to be plugged into the extension cord.

The balcony with sliding glass door is lovely. Plenty of fresh air. But unfortunately, plenty of dirty air, too. They have air fresheners in the hallways that puff ugly smelling stuff regularly. It gets into the room through the cracks in the door and causes a terrible stench. Please get rid of those devices, they are awful! The room was fine. Two sinks. Nice tv. comfortable beds.

I give this place a 5 star rating because of their staff. From the moment I walked in the staff was extremely helpful and accommodated me in every way they could. Its not a 5 star hotel, but  a very affordable and clean place to recharge after a long flight. The owner offered me a huge discount since I had only checked in to shower and get back on the road, most places would have just charged me the full rate. I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

I called from the airport to request the shuttle and one was there very quickly to pick me up. The man at the front seat was very nice and when I asked when the shuttle going back to the hotel leaves, he said anytime I wanted it! The breakfast was not bad and the room was clean and comfortable. The the hotel is a bit older than some of the sounding ones but I had no problems here. I'd stay here again anytime.
