We stayed here for one night as a couple. The B&B is so cute in a nice little neighborhood, within walking distance to everything. When you arrive you are welcomed as a friend.

Parking: The B&B offers off street parking, with plenty of space for everyone. This is great, since we were there during the summer when the area was very busy.

Room: From what were could tell, there are three rooms available. We were in the Ivory Room. The room was not huge, but it was a good size. The bed was a king size. There was a flat screen television with satellite hook up. There was a mini fridge stocked with soda and water. There was chocolate on the counter and a nice amount of a nice brandy available in a decanter. All of the above was included with the room.We had our own bathroom, though you did have to leave the room and go into the hallway to access it, it was still very nice.

Building: The building is old but well taken care of. That is part of the attraction. Many buildings, including this one, have placards telling when they were built and for whom. Walking around the neighborhood is quite enjoyable.

Location: The B&B is 2 blocks from the water. A 10 min stroll from the main street. A gorgeous area and perfect location.

People: The lovely lady who ran the B&B was great. She was available whenever we needed her, but gave us all the privacy we needed. Even with two other couples in the house, we felt like we had all the privacy we wanted. The proprietors granddaughter was helping out as well, and was just as professional.

Food: There were snacks, tea, coffee, pie, cookies, and sherry available at any time. The three course breakfast was absolutely delicious. We did not eat again for hours. We shared a huge Belgium waffle with fresh fruit, and a lobster omlette. That was just the main course. The homemade granola was to die for. We only regret we forgot to get the recipe before we left. The 2nds course was a fresh pear pastry that you cannot stop eating.

The stay was a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. We would definitely go back.

My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday there this weekend and had an unbelievable time.  Josephine was an unbeliveable hostess and made us feel very welcome.  She also gave us our own space so we did not feel like we were intruding in her home.
The inn is a quick to downtown.  So quick that we did not need a car for the weekend.  We will stay there our next Mystic trip.

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the inn and Josephine's hospitality.  The decor is lovely, very charming.  The location is perfect; walking distance to the bridge, restaurants and shops, and the Mystic Seaport museum.  Josephine makes a yummy breakfast and has snacks available during the day for her guests.  We highly recommend Mermaid Inn!

My first visit to a B&B and so glad I came! I stayed in the blue room (queen bed, private bathroom) with a friend. Josephine was very nice and was able to answer any questions we had. There are boat tours, kayaking, bakeries and a lot of cute little stores within walking distance. The room was comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was perfect and there were lots of movies to borrow from the house. In the morning, we had a delicious breakfast of yogurt with granola and fruit, French toast and omelet. Tea & coffee is available all day/night long. I would definitely recommend this place.

This inn has all the normal stuff - cute rooms, unique decor, coziness. That is to be expected when you aren't in a hotel... but what every other inn is lacking are the kick ass cutest owners on earth.

There was a bottle of liquor more fancy than my vocabulary for free in the room. (meaning..it was fancy but i dont know the name of it..)

The snacks downstairs were all homemade and tasted like an orgasm.

For breakfast they made a lobster quiche...as one of three courses.

When they sent us away, the gave us a little bag with cookies and apples and a bottle of water for the road. I could have kissed them.
