I'm not a "turk?" but I am thrilled with the experience my family and I had at the Bahama House.  We really got service with a smile which made me feel great about bringing my kids there.  The pool was nice but the beach was what we were really there for.  We got a good deal from there website and plan to go back again next year.

Just spent 6 nights at Bahama House. It was a great place to stay for a beach vacation in Daytona. All of the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The housekeeper was outstanding!!!! The property was always neat and attractive. The rooms lovely, our with a small kitchen. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. This coming from person with chronic back pain is special. Buffet breakfast enjoyable. Even a happy hour with drinks free of charge was held daily. I certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone on vacation in Daytona Beach Shores.

Pictures make this place look a million times better than it actually is.  We had new carpet in our rooms, and the new carpet smell helped to downplay the damp, muggy, dingy stench lurking in the stale rooms. We found two small cockroaches in the kitchen area of one of the rooms. Continental breakfast is a joke unless you thrive on carbs only.  Not much in the way of fruit. A little more effort could make the breakfast phenomenal and a selling point. On day 2 we opted to hit up the IHOP just a few blocks south on A1A in order to get something more balanced and substantial for breakfast. It was cool that the pool and jacuzzi are open 24/7, but the complimentary beach towels they provided were not much larger than hand towels. Adults will need two or three of these to dry off after taking a dip in their pool. The front desk staff seems a bit disconnected. We checked out (early morning) and the clerk did something wrong which caused the day manager to call me to explain that there were erroneous charges on my credit card that would be met with credits to correct their mistakes. We booked these rooms through Booking.Com and thought we had booked Ocean Front, but upon arrival quickly learned that they were actually ocean VIEW.  After booking, I contacted the property directly because we wanted to see if we could get two rooms that connected. We were told that we would have that taken care of, but when we arrived, the rooms were on the same floor, but not adjoined, as requested. It just seemed that everything we thought we had planned for was completely opposite. This is one of the newer properties in Daytona Beach (relative to other hotels that have been there since I grew up from 1967-1985. Unfortunately, the building has not been maintained well and is now comparable to the older properties.  Bathrooms are not that great and the doors that go to the balconies had large gaps between the door jambs and the walls allowing outside warm, humid air to penetrate into the rooms.  One balcony door doorknob didn't work and we had to use the deadbolt to open and close the door.  Painting crews had scaffolding all over the side of the hotel and were working during our stay so it was like a vacation at a construction site. Not thrilled with our Thanksgiving stay, and probably will not return to this property.

Lovely, down-to-earth atmosphere tucked away in a peaceful ocean shore. This place really is serene. I spent my birthday here a few days ago and I didn't want to leave. It' not the Ritz Carlton, but it's far from a Motel 6, too! I think of it as visiting a relative in a nice middle-class neighborhood, who keeps a dated house with immaculate perfection that borderlines OCD. To my understanding all of the rooms have a view of the ocean. Fortunately, our view was dead-on in front of the beach. I gave four stars because the free breakfast was literally old-school continental breakfast Pastries, cereal and fruit. They could improve with at least some protein (boiled eggs are simple to manage) and a waffle-maker (which is also low-maintenance).  I just let my kid get whatever she wanted and drove somewhere else for breakfast, but the wonderful getaway made me forget all about the lack of protein.  We will certainly return!

We found this hotel on one of the discount sites, however, I got a great deal (and was upgraded to an awesome view without asking).  The staff here was friendly from arrival to departure.

Because we eat a specific diet, we try to get hotels with kitchenettes if we'll be there a few days.  We liked the hotel so much that we decided to stay one more day.  They were able to accomodate us at the "internet rate" that we got when we booked the first two nights.

The hotel was clean, smelled good, offered pool towels and beach toys for kids.  The pool was clean.  They have a happy hour where they serve drinks and freshly popped popcorn.  Parking is in the lot or in the underground parking garage.

Wifi is free and not difficult to access - just open your laptop or turn the wifi on and there it is.

Hotel engineering responded very quickly when the sink in the kitchen was leaking a bit and fixed it.  The view was spectacular and we'd love to go back and stay here.  Maybe next year for Jeep Beach  :)

I'm guessing Thom's review is due to the Bahama House's link building efforts, whatever. I actually stayed there and don't care about their link building or online reputation management.

I found Bahama House on some cheap deal travel site, and they were offering $99 a night in the summer, and they were ranked the #1 Hotel in Daytona on Trip Advisor. That is pretty huge if you ask me.

So we got the awesome rate and figured a few nights about a half hour from home, right on the beach, would do us some good.

Our "ocean view" room, was more like "ocean FRONT" room. I don't know how you could have a room in this hotel that doesn't have a killer view.

The hotel itself is REALLY clean, and parking was really easy. They only have two elevators so it was kind of a pain to wait around for them, but hey - if that's all I can complain about...

The rooms were super clean, AC was super cold, and the location was awesome. It's in Daytona Shores, so it's not near all the trash in Daytona but more North. So we drove down to scope out the trash and drove back to stay in a nicer area about 2 miles up. ;)

They provide towels for you to use at the pool, the beach access is easy, there's bathrooms right inside from the pool, it was just win.

My expectations for any hotel in Daytona are typically pretty low, but Bahama House met my expectations for an affordable stay in any beach town - and at a KILLER price.

The best place I have stayed in Daytona!  Our kids loved the 10th floor view.  You can't beat the ocean views and location on the beach!

It was our first time traveling as a couple. When we first arrived we noticed right away the reception area which was very nicely decorated. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Every day there are free cocktails from 5:30pm to 6:30 pm. We optioned to satay in an oceanfront suit. We were impress about how much room we had. We even had our own kitchen to our disposition. What we loved the  most about the hotel was not only the breathtaking view but the PRIVACY. It is the only hotel in Daytona with mirrored windows. The windows were pretty big and long almost taking the entire balcony. It was great to have an amazing view, the windows wide open yet all the privacy in the world because we could see everything out but none could see in ;) it was  great experience and Daytona all around is  great place to be in.our maid had everyday our room spotless and the property was also very clean. I can't wait to go back with my love again.

Absolutely love Bahama house. I've been vacationing in Daytona Beach Shores for years, and I have stayed in a number of different places on both ends of the price spectrum. I can say without a doubt that this is my favorite place for the price. Every room has an ocean view. There is a complimentary happy hour every day, and the customer service is outstanding. I tried to check in early once, and because my room was not ready they upgraded me to a suite. They truly go above and beyond expectations to make sure that you enjoy your stay.

Absolutely loved this place!! My fiancé and I came here the second week of September, we booked our room thru Priceline.com -- which we were a little worried about, but everything turned out amazing! There isn't a possible way to have a room without a view of the ocean! The hotel was really clean and the staff was really nice!

They have free breakfast in the morning, bagels pastries, cereal.. It's not much, but who can complain about free?!!  They also have free happy hour! Free beer, drinks and popcorn! Very cool!! We had a blast here, and with this hotel being ocean front, we would definitely return!

Good location, adequate parking availability,  nice pool but small amd always full hot tub. Cocktail hour is nice but the mixed drinks are very weak. Free breakfast is awesome, but it's not very tempting. The coffee is terrible. The hotel overall is a little dated and parts of it desperately need to be maintained (doors, furniture, bathroom fixtures/amemities, etc). It's a nice hotel but I wouldn't pay more than like $100/night.

Vacation time is over, but I did manage to spend a few nights near the ocean.

One such night was spent at the Bahama House, a decent hotel located in Daytona Beach Shores.  We booked this room on one of those hotel websites, and found an okay price.

The hotel is right on the beach, with easy access to the sandy shores of Daytona.  The building looks pretty nice, has decent parking, and is easy to find.

The woman at the front desk was less than pleasant.  She was downright rude for the majority of our limited conversation.

The room was clean, spacious, and the A/C worked well - all vital for a good stay, if you ask me.  The two queen beds were comfortable and the shower had great pressure.  It was a pretty good room all around.

At around 7 am, the maid service began. Though my door was marked with the "do not disturb" tag, the maids showed no mercy on surrounding rooms.  The noise was loud, and sleeping in was not an option - quite a shock when one is used to Pacific time.

Since we were up, it was time for the continental breakfast.  I'm not sure which continent inspires such a spread, but I'm guessing that it's one full of starving children.  Plan on going elsewhere for breakfast.

Checkout was quick and we were given a "parting gift" - a bottle of water.

All in all, an okay stay.  The staff could step it up and make this a great place to stay.

Great value.  Went with baseball team, many families with kids.  All rooms have amazing view, happy hour every night, superb location direct beach front.   No, it's not the Ritz Carlton, but for the price, you can't beat it.  Don't waste your time at the free breakfast.   Go to the Cracked Egg instead 3 mikes south.   The place needs a renovation, but that would mean higher prices.  If you are looking for an inexpensive beach front kid friendly pace, you found it.  If going away for romance, go  to one of the major chains in Daytona.

For someone that doesn't need a "Hilton" or "Marriott" quality, this place is a great Spring Break or vacation get-a-way stay. The continental breakfast (lots of cereals, breads, and muffins including coffee and other drinks) and Happy Hour (unlimited - within reason - free well drinks, beer, and wine) was a big plus from 5:30 - 6:30pm each day. If something wasn't there that you wanted to eat or drink, bring it and make it in the mini-kitchen within your own room. 2-top stove and refrigerator is very convenient for beverages, food, and frozen things. There is a grocery store 1/4 mile south down A1A (Winn Dixie). Several places in Daytona deliver food too to the hotel which is also convenient if you were too tired to leave or drank too much and got a fixing for something.

Beachfront access with pool and hot-tub. Friendly staff is always cleaning or mopping or wiping things down. Parking was easy. The beds weren't the most comfy (pillows were though) and you could tell this isn't the newest place in Daytona Beach, but it was nice and well worth the $138 per night we paid during peak Spring Break season. My wife and I were very happy and satisfied with our stay. In fact, we've mentioned coming back in the future.

As far as hotels go, this one was nice, clean and had a friendly staff.  The problem with this hotel is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!  It is directly across from a liquor store(which doesn't sound terrible), a porn shop, and a tattoo parlor. The two hotels closest to it are shut down and there is nothing close to eat after 10p on the weekends. The inside of the hotel is nicely decorated, the rooms had a very secure key system, and the linens were clean. The beds were not ultra comfy, but I liked the pillows. When they cleaned the room, the did not throw away any trash liked old pizza boxes(that didn't fit in the trash can).  They were nice about extra towels and blankets and the rooms were very fair priced.

As far as free breakfast, it is mostly danishes and bagels.  They had some cereal as well, but two of our boxes contained weavels (which I know are common to get, but still gross).  They had milk, juice and coffee.

As far as cocktail hour, they have jug wine, beer, and Bacardi to mix with things. It wasn't a bad little hour.  They also gave out free popcorn, which was delicious.

This hotel seemed not so secure when I realized they had a sliding door to the beach that was open 24 hours a day!!! No key required, walk right on in.

If you stay here, make sure you have a car. The bus system isn't too complicated and they do give free passes, but if you aren't a patient person this could be troublesome.  Taxis add up quick.

Let me note once more, the front desk staff was GREAT! Super nice, let us check out an hour later since we had such a late flight.  Based on the location, I would probably stay somewhere else, but it wasn't because this hotel was awful just purely the location.

This place was perfect for our family vacation. Travelled with children ages 3 and 8 and booked an oceanfront efficiency with kitchenette for 149.00 per night. The place is very clean and secure. It exceeded expectations for the price. Heated pool hot tub and complimentary happy hour a plus. Also on the "quieter" south end of Daytona which was a plus. Not super luxury but very functional. Staff also A++

Where you choose to stay can often times be critical to the overall enjoyment of your vacation. Sure it's nice to have great restaurants and attractions close by, but if your hotel or resort SUCKS, well then you're gonna be starting every day off on the wrong foot and working backwards to make it right. That will not be the case @ Bahama House.

This may not be the fanciest or newest hotel in the area, but the staff here work hard to make your stay pleasant. I'm OCD when it comes to being neat and clean. I just can't enjoy myself if I think I need a bio-hazard suite and a drum of heavy duty decontaminator. So Bahama House appealed to me the first moment I waked through the door.  TAKE A WHIFF? Do you smell that glorious scent of cleaners in the air? The lobby was so clean I would have felt comfortable eating off the floor. Staff at the front desk greeted us with warm welcomes and islandy looking shirts, checked us in quickly and before you knew it we were standing in front of our room door about to use the weirdest hotel room key we'd ever seen. yelp.com/biz_photos/baha…

Our room was spacious with nice colors, but it paled in comparison to our view. We were drawn straight to the balcony like a bug to a glowing blue light. We were right on the beach with a pool overlooking the ocean! Are those directional signs in the sand? Wait! Could that be a motor home driving down the beach? Hahahahahaha, sweet mother! Like a choir of singers, we all said in unison "we have got to drive the car down there!" And boy did we... every chance we got. Please forgive me if we are easily entertained, but the kids got a huge thrill out of it and so did the kid in me. I did donuts in my car like Mater from the movie Cars.. just sayin'.

LOCATION was perfect. We were just a stones throw in either direction from all the activities we planned.. We were traveling with another family and used the gathering room on the main floor to schedule our days during breakfast and evenings during the free happy hour every night @ 5:30. It was a great social hour for meeting other guests and swapping travel stories and other experiences.

But alas, not all things are perfect here. The hotel does show it's age, particularly in the bathrooms where you will find rust around the base of the tubs. Also, if there was a complaint to be made it would be concerning the mattresses. They were a little too firm for me and I woke up most every day in a little pain. I was able to correct this problem however by requesting several additional pillows, which were wonderful. These really are some of the best hotel pillows I've ever rested my head on.

BREAKFAST is basic. Bagels, bread for toasting, danishes, orange juice, coffee milk and a small assortment of cereals. Just enough to get your metabolism going in the morning.

For the money, this is a fantastic hotel find. Friendly staff, super clean common areas, spacious rooms, really comfortable pillows, free happy hour/cookies and gorgeous beachfront views in a great location. Shout outs to the maintenance crew who were always active doing something around the building. I appreciate the shovel you allowed us to borrow for our snowman & sandcastle.  Bottom line: You can't go wrong staying here!

Clean rooms
Friendly employees
Easy check in and out

For the price I really don't think you could get any better. Our room was $136.99 per night on not only a Holiday weekend but a huge Daytona event weekend ( Turkey Run 2013)

We had a total of 3 room and each room was consistently clean and well stocked with coffee, coffee pot, towels, plates, mugs, glasses and extra blankets.

I loved that each room had it's own microwave, full size refrigerator and counter top stove for cooking. Although we did not cook in the room I liked having the option to cook and I was so happy being able to bring our left overs back to the room for midnight muching.

Rooms were very spacious and the view of the beach was priceless. Bathrooms were a good size as well and could definitely fit two girls getting ready together. Each room had a full size mirror along the entrance hallway. A lot of hotels don't offer that and they should. Who wants a half view of their ensemble when they are getting ready to hit the town? Not this gal.....

We ate all our meals out but you could smell the bagels toasting all through out the lobby in the morning. They offer a complimentary breakfast of bagels, toast, cereal, fruit and pastries. Some of our friends had the free breakfast and said it was a decent lay out and very clean. They also offer a complimentary happy hour in the early evening but again we didn't want to miss out on any of the Turkey Run Festivities so we skipped the freebe cocktails and headed out.

I will definitely stay here the next time we are in Daytona and make it a point to mingle and enjoy the complimentary happy hour and breakfast.

We chose this hotel at the spur of the moment (literally booked it on my phone on the way down to the beach). The price was about $100 less than a couple of the others I saw nearby.

When you walk in, the lobby is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff is extremely pleasant and friendly. We checked in at 11pm and the guy at the desk was very friendly and welcoming.

The rooms are a bit dated in decor, but immaculately clean. My husband and son loved the firm mattresses. I didn't, but the pillows were very soft. There was a small kitchenette, with a fridge and freezer, and a 2-burner stove top and microwave. There are dishes and pots and pans in the cabinet for cooking.

The hotel is right on the beach. You walk out the back door, past the swimming pool and hot tub, and through a gate out to the beach. Towels for the pool are provided, and the pool is open all night.

They mentioned happy hour from 5-6, which we skipped (we had our young son with us), but they have fresh baked cookies all day in the lobby.

We woke up too late for the continental breakfast, but the desk clerk did warn us that it is very basic. Don't expect a gourmet meal.

The staff all wore tropical shirts, which was a nice touch.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!  Very good value for the price.
