First of all this is not a club i would join.  The paint is coming off the  door molding, refrigerator was broken, water was dripping all night in the sink in the bathroom, paint was chipped on the corner of the wall, wifi disnt work in the room, called for assistance at the  front desk and was told to call the  number on the slip which came with your keys   for  tech support, called that number the guy had attitude  and then hung up didnt even wait to see if i was connected.  Empty Bottles  of  beer on the roof  ,the view from my balcony.  Tub didnt hold water, bar closed early, restaurant was only open in the  morning,  the page that tell the ammenities says spa,  asked a worker and said there wasnt any,  1 st room i looked at overlooked the parking lot and had to lean way over the railing to see the ocean, then asked for another room,  someone else had mentioned this  in another review  must be their policy to give a dumpy room first over looking the parking lot and  then another room that is in horrible shape.  Mold was in the bathroom in the wall paper border ,rust on the closet floor, really old furniature threads hanging from the  cornice decoration.  I was told by a employee that this was one of the better properties thay have.  :-(      the other pool in the pix isnt a hottub but a kiddie pool please dont be fooled

I stayed here for 1 night on my last trip to DB.  We checked in about 2:30 and left the next day about 10 so I didn't get to see much of the place.  Our first room was literally looking out at a wall so we asked for a new room which we got with a better view.  It's a standard hotel room with a balcony but the bathroom light was very dim and the shower was icky.  The water filled up in the tub and it looked to be a bit yellow.  Could also have been the dim light.  They have a restaurant and pool bar and a pretty nice pool area.  The restaurant is not open all day, only for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with certain hours.  This place appears to be the step-sister to The Ocean Plaza Resort & Spa next door.  It's a nice location though.  Within walking distance to the Ocean Walk shops and Daytona Lagoon and plenty of gift shops in the area too.

Not worth it.  Just like Daytona generally.  Overpriced and underwhelming.

The staff has that Daytona attitude: they don't care to serve you because there's always a constant stream of people in town, but they also inherently mistrust you because everyone who visits Daytona is always getting drunk and wrecking everything.  So, it's like being under constant surveillance.

Lovely!

The room was a good size but this is clearly a very old hotel that they've tried to make seem new. The paint was peeling off the walls in the hallway and it had a funky damp smell.  Once I opened the window in my room it was okay.  It was a nice day out so the A/C wasn't necessary.  I did have a nice view of the ocean with a balcony.
The pillows were very flat but the bed was comfy.  The room was clean except the shower was a little dirty and filled up with water because it wasn't draining fast enough.  We had a formal event there and the food they served was ehhh.  Nothing special but I've had worse.
The location is great because it's on the beach and walking distance to everything; however, the parking blows.
When I go back I'll spend my $99 on the Ocean Walk or Hilton.  This was more of a $60 hotel.

this is place is haunted!

okay, i travel a lot for work.  i go where the customers are. fine. delays, last-minute trips, weird locations - whatever.  Sometimes it's good (the warwick, Dallas), most of the time it's Marriott Courtyard or Sheraton (an almost disturbing uniformity).  I have no idea how this place got put on my itinerary.

So i have a uber:late check-in and at 1:30 AM there's no valet parking, just a creepy 'underground' garage where you may not return.  I've felt safer in Tashkent, Uzbekistan than here.

okay. am packing my bags to leave right now.

To start,  I've stayed here over 10 times.  The staff is so nice here,  the rooms are clean,  beds are comfy.  The pooldeck is one of the best ones because of the fact the sun stays on it till 5 and there are plenty of chairs.

I give this place two stars for good customer service and an ideal location for tourists. The employees at the front desk are friendly and helpful. If u call from your room about a problem (we had a slow bathroom drain) the maintenance guy will be there within 5 min. The issue with this place is the quality of the rooms and overall premises. The rooms are ok, but the bathrooms are atrocious. I've never been more
disgusted to take a shower in my life. The tubs are not bright, white and shiny, they are dim, beige and dingy. In all honesty it looks like a bathroom u would see in a run down apartment building. You know, the old scuffed tub, dim lighting, and chipped tiles.  The ventilation in the bathrooms are highly  inefficient...so smells and moisture linger for a very long time. And the freakin elevator situation is absurd! Two elevators for the ENTIRE hotel. Really?! I found myself waiting 15 to 20 minutes for a freakin elevator at times.  Also, the air conditioners are set up so the outside portion is facing the balcony, so if you're trying to relax on the balcony you're essentially sitting next to a heater in already 95 degree heat...not to mention the air conditioners drip water from condensation, so you're sitting in still water. Oh and did I mention there are cockroaches EVERYWHERE! Yes, I found one crawling on my night stand and saw one next to the vending machines among other places. Overall, this place has a long way to go before it meets even minimal standards of cleanliness. I'm amazed the health department hasn't stepped in...seriously, that's how bad it is.

I wish I could say more than that the front desk worker (forgot his name unfortunately) was really cool..but that's about the end of good things.  This place is in serious need of remodeling and the rest of the staff was pretty stand-offish.

Well it's a old hotel but the overall staff act as if its an inconvenience to help you. The front desk women kaelie and brittney were very helpful though!!!

I'm giving five stars because the staff Particularly a woman named Desiree I believe) was VERY helpful in accommodating my strange request to find a place to store a kayak in the hotel overnight so that I didn't have to bring it up ten stories to my room (too big to go in elevator). She cheerfully greeted us and offered solutions until we found one that worked. She genuinely seems to take pride in her work and it shows. I really appreciated it.
The hotel was great for the cost - $43.00 for a double room with a balcony overlooking downtown and the beach. I didn't try the food in the restaurant, but the room was clean and totally acceptable.

Gave it one star because I had too, but I will say the young women at the desk were as apologetic and friendly as they could get.

Short, Sweet, and to the point. I have not walked into a place as filthy dirty as this in many moons. Went to the room and the floors were stained, there was a turd in the toilet, and let's not even cover the stain on the bed sheets when I turned the cover back.

Went back down, asked for my credit back and walked out the door. And the best thing? Well, it was less than 15 minutes and I had to just about physically remove the thug who was sitting on my car hood!

The best part, they wanted close to $300.00 per night! Well, went to the Marriott up the street by the airport, by the track and spent the same.

As I type this review at 11pm I'm listening to the people in the adjoining room sing along to Kelly Rowland's "Motivation"... so the walls are thin in case that didnt give it away.  The place is musty.  The shower... there's a mat in it, like the kind you'd use so you don't slip, but out of the sides you see either rust or mold creeping out like they placed it there so you wouldn't see the mess underneath.

Big Box tv... noisy A/C unit... nice sized space beneath the door so you can hear the noice in the hall way.  Ocean view is more like parking lot, roofs of neighboring businesses oh and there's some beach... I gave it 2 stars because it is clean and large. (other than that tub).  Rooms include a microwave and fridge... I dont know if they work though. It's actually a nice looking hotel except for the fact that you can tell all they do is keep repainting the same old things a modern color.  The tiled bathroom shower is even painted over.

They allow pets for $20/night which is why were here.
Location is perfect, within 2 blocks of the boardwalk.
$50 non refundable deposit
$11 resort fee for the pool and parking(it's actally $10 something I rounded up)
Beach front

It has a great view but the hotel room seems old. The pool is nice and the location is probably the best location.

Traveling in today's technical age means being able to check things out before booking, unfortunately it also means that those who want to can also lay a trap for those of use who try to make the most travel dollar.  Being an associate of the Ocean Park Resort and Spa, there seems to be a distinctive link between what we were lead to believe and where we actually ended up.

To begin with, the address is the same.  We booked with Kayck.com and even though the two businesses span a whole block and are painted identically, the difference is night and day!  Unfortunately when we checked in, we were informed that we were in the wrong place.  "You'll be staying next door".   So we went next door and were greeting right off the bat with an out of service elevator sign.  Apparently the owner is a fan of "Big Bang Theory".  We later found out that not only had the elevator not been working for quite some time, there apparently was not intention to repair it as "that would mean raising the prices of the room, which we were told by the Manager was against their policies.

Next - A couple in our party had to move from the 2nd floor to the 7th (and remember there is an ongoing issue with the elevator) as they found out they were not alone in their room.  Apparently a nest or two of suspected bed bugs had set up residence in their beds.

Then there is the Wireless Internet!  I will put it like this.  You can connect, but any messages or transfers are apparently done by smoke signal.  Yes - It is that slow.

So there you have it.  These are just 3 strikes that I am concerned with but 3 important and basic things that any traveler like us would find important to know  before booking!  Enjoy!!!

Hotel is in a good spot but hotel is not very clean.  I stayed in the hotel March 28th.  I went to get a drink from the vending machine and found a quite a few roaches.   Very disgusting and disappointed for paying over $150 a night.... beware roach hotel

Let me break it down for you like this...

Pros:
- Located right on the beach
- Restaurant/bar on the property
- Pool
- Within walking distance of the boardwalk/pier and Main street (less than a mile - which is doable unless you're completely wasted)
- Right next door to Seabreeze Blvd
- Staff was ok - not rude but not overly friendly
- Sheets and towels were clean
- Microwave and fridge in room

Cons:
- Right on Atlantic Ave so there will be lots of late night noise
- Room could use a bit of a touch up here and there - some new paint for example
- Only two elevators - we were ALWAYS waiting for an elevator
- Understaffed at front desk
- No room service
- No Jacuzzi
- The pool was NOT heated as it said on their website

Would I stay here again? Maybe. If I couldn't get a could deal at a nicer place, then I would. It served it's purpose for us but didn't wow us in anyway either. We were here for three nights during the tail end of spring break (we aren't spring breakers through) and had no major issues.

One tip: Search multiple sites for the best price. I called the hotel and was quoted a more expensive price than the travel site where I found the hotel. Even after I mentioned being a FL resident and AAA member. Many times places will be cheaper if you call to book directly and ask.

So I did some checking with other travel sites and found a price that was $50 cheaper than the first site and $150 than what the hotel quoted me, which ended up being a price I was willing to pay.
