For the money, it's 5 stars, but compared to the Four Seasons, it's three, and that's not a bad thing.  "A-OK" is right on for this place.  I think it was about a hundred bucks a night (my generous dad was paying so I'm not totally sure), and for that we got clean, functional, spacious rooms with small kitchens.  It's right on the beach and it has an indoor and an outdoor pool. All the facilities were totally adequate.

What makes it special though is the staff.  The women who work the front desk are hilarious and quirky, and we actually had a really good time clowning around with them in the lobby while they took photos of my family with the Christmas tree.

The real highlight of the whole place is the two-man team who run the little restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch.  Frans is like a stand-up comedian who has something funny to say every time he comes by to refill your coffee.  He works the room and gets everyone going.  Billy is the straight-faced foil to Frans's shenanigans.

There were guests there from China, France and Canada, plus plenty of Americans and everyone was having a blast, which is more than I can say for most hotels' breakfast room atmospheres.

Looking for an awesome, cheap hotel with beachfront? This is it! $79 a night (off season rate). We stopped at nearly every DECENT looking hotel along the beach and compared prices. This was the one. Indoor & outdoor HEATED pools. Plenty of nice reclining chairs to lay out on. No continental breakfast but they do have a small cafe on the main floor that overlooks the beach. We didn't use it though because we had our own kitchen in the room... with dishes, pots & pans, utensils, toaster, microwave & all!! Plenty of parking in front & around back of hotel. Privacy walls between balconies. In-wall safe. Iron & board. Hair dryer. I truly have nothing bad to say about this hotel!! If you're a hotel snob then you may want to look into the Hilton down the street but if you're looking for a nice place to sleep & keep your stuff safe while enjoying the beach then I highly recommend Tropical Winds!!

    Excellent price and location
Ocean front king room with full kitchen $95 per night
    Pool area very clean
This is an older place, but they upkeep it pretty good.
There is a small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch on premise. Prices were very fair. We had breakfast our first day here, it was pretty decent.
It's a distance, but we did walk the beach down to the band shell. Not too far. Stay off of Atlantic Ave after 5pm. Still very seedy after 5.

Nice view of the ocean. The 'free wifi' is a joke. Always getting disconnected every five minutes. We booked a room for a week stay and they gave us the wrong room to begin with. The room we were given had no sheets, no blankets, one pillow that had hair on it. The room wasn't even ready. When asked, they told us we were in the wrong room. They put us in another room. For four days we have been listening to banging and knocking. They are renovating the other rooms on this floor. We paid good money to stay at this hotel only to hear banging and knocking constantly for hours. The room we finally got had dirty looking carpets and now for the last three nights we have been seeing cockroaches. This is so disgusting. This hotel is a joke. There is no continental breakfast, if you want breakfast you have to pay. The hotel looks ran down and nothing like the photos on their website. I will not ever return to this hotel ever ever ever again! I don't like paying for a room only to hear noises and to live with roaches!

Very reasonable as long as you don't mind lack of housekeeping.
    New furniture,  carpets are great.
How long they last is the question.
We were out of our room by 1pm, but the housekeeping must of decided it was too late to bother to refresh the room.
Killed bugs on the wall over the bed, they didn't appear to be bed bugs, but they were too small for us to tell.
Sad, because they could of received 5 Stars.
