My husband and I just spent my birthday weekend at this hotel-- let me say that the service was excellent. It may not be as fancy as other hotels, or as it seems in pictures, but the location was fantastic (right on the beach)- its close to good restaurants, and best of all was the cozy, homely atmosphere. The owner personally showed us around, gave us great recommendations on restaurants and things to do, and overall this place was just what we were looking for. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice little hotel off the strip on A1A.  Very private little pool area and great customer service set this place apart.

This is a follow up to my review from 2009! Yep, still love it three years later. Matt, Ernesto, the whole group of staff is still better than family :) I walked through the gate last September after two years, and it was like coming back home. The pristine courtyard/pool area, the rooms prepped for us after a long flight. What a slice of paradise under swaying palm trees. As if it wasn't perfect before, they've remodeled all the rooms! My friends and I booked all the rooms for a birthday celebration, and we can see that more and more groups are doing the same. It's THAT great. Half a block away from the sand, and we never felt the need to leave the hotel. Before we all left to go back home with a tear in our eye, we all signed a black frisbee with a silver sharpee as a thank you to Matt. Ask to see it if you go! xo --Barbi

Loved the place! It's only a block or less from the beach. Casa Blanca Cafe is right next door. Also Scotty, Ernesto, and Matt all did a great job to make sure we had everything we needed and they were very helpful with everything! I can't wait to stay there again it's like staying at a friends place! Thanks Guys!

This is my second stay at the Alhambra. I love it! My friends and I have birthday party weekends here & just chill the entire time. Matt is basically the best hotel owner ever, making sure we're happy and enjoying ourselves!

As the others have stated on here, you get more than customer service at Alhambra Beach Resort. They really do treat you like family here.
I just stayed here for 3 nights surrounding a cruise I was taking with friends out of Ft Lauderdale. My roommate highly suggested that we stay here since he has stayed here several times in the past. Alhambra Beach Resort is an absolute delight!
It is located one block away from the beach and the whole beach 'scene' in Ft Lauderdale. It is a very charming hotel that is private and gated with a heated pool and a quite large patio area considering that this is a small hotel. Comfortable and white glove clean with rates that make you say "that's it?!".
An unbelievable value for it's location and accommodations. They put out a lovely continental breakfast every morning from 9-10:30 that beats out any I've had elsewhere. Matt and Ernesto make you feel more than welcome the minute you arrive for check in. They could not be any more accommodating if they tried. I can not thank them enough for all of their hospitality. An easy 5 stars for the only place I ever want to stay when in Ft Lauderdale. Thanks guys :)

This is by far the BEST hotel I've ever stayed in. I booked a night's stay in this hotel as part of my boyfriend's surprise birthday weekend and I can't tell you how amazing the service was. They had a 12-pack of beer + balloons in the room ready for our arrival. Ernesto greeted us at the front when our cab arrived and was incredibly welcoming. All the guests were friendly as well. We stayed in Room #3 and it was clean and spacious - just perfect for the two of us. I love that it's just a few minutes walk to Casablanca Cafe where we had his birthday dinner and to the ocean. Good walking distance to beach bars and CVS Pharmacy (open 24 hours!!). Matt was SO nice and helped us figure out how to get to Miami the next day. Both Matt and Ernesto went the extra mile to make sure we had the best time.

My boyfriend is probably the PICKIEST and high maintenance guy ever, and even he raved about how amazing this place was. This is definitely the place for you to stay if you want great service, perfect location, and a stress-free vacation.

My mother and I had a wonderful girls weekend planned in Ft. Lauderdale and we were fortunate to stay here. This place really lives up to the reviews. Upon arrival we were greeted by the most friendly staff. Bill, Matt and Eddie made us feel right at home. We stayed in room 4 and room 6, and each room was great and the perfect space for two people. The pool area is also fantastic. There are plenty of chairs and towels and you can just relax and enjoy the sun. The staff does a great job of keeping this place clean and welcoming. We were sad when our visit came to an end but we are already planning our next trip! I honestly have nothing but great things to say about Alhambra Beach Resort and I cannot wait to go back.

If you want a big hotel luxury experience then go down the road to the Westin or the W. If you want to feel like your friend lent you his place near the beach, then this is the place for you. The staff goes beyond friendly, the place is kept immaculately and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are not luxurious, but they are way more than adequate. We haven't even left yet and we're trying to figure out when we can come back.

This is a nice small hotel with easy access to the beach with friendly staff.  If we go to Fort Lauderdale again, we definitely will book this hotel again as it beats the chain hotel both in price and in service.

I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive when my girlfriend told me that we had reservations somewhere other than a chain hotel.  Once we arrived at Alhambra that feeling completely changed.  The outside appearance of Alhambra is pleasant and looks well kept.  Matt checked us in and walked us to our room for the week.  He was very thorough and pleasant to talk to.  After the first night Matt made sure to check in and make sure everything was going well.  The wi-fi worked well and the breakfast was great.  Nothing like sitting by the pool or on a deck while enjoying coffee and a pastry.  We are a younger couple that went during spring break (not by choice) and had no problems while at the resort.  It was a quiet and older bunch (we like this bunch) while we were at the resort.  Most of the spring breakers stay in the chain hotels and don't bother you.  The parking in the lot was a little close so make sure you don't have a large vehicle or you might have problems.  Quick walk to the beach and Alhambra provides sunblock, towels, and chairs to take to the beach.  Overall, great place to stay.

The best boutique hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. Quiet, close to everything, half a block from the beach and a super staff. This is my home away from home in Fort Lauderdale.

A little Oasis of tranquility in the middle of Fort Lauderdale Beach

If you are looking for an intimate boutique hotel, with helpful and friendly staff that is reasonably priced.  If you would like this hotel to be next to a beautiful beach and near the best restaurants and people watching. If you prefer calm and secluded atmosphere when you are done for the evening, this is the place for you.
This was my wife and my first visit and we are talking about making it a yearly tradition.
