This place is an absolute joke. Starting with the shuttle service from the airport that was quoted as being 45mins turned out to be almost an hour and a half. The place has a chance at being decent but the way it is run is just ridiculous. Rooms were ok at best. Guess Best Western quality is going down these days. The water in the tub and toilet have a very yellow tint to it. Not sure if it's the water supply here or something with the property itself. The elevator shakes a bit and kind of reminded us of Disney's Tower of Terror just before you drop. Haha. This place had two opportunities to change our mind as we stayed here on both sides of our cruise. Needless to say, shuttle pick up from Port wasn't any better. The pool area is probably the nicest part. Area is nice and we'll kept and water was very comfortable temp-wise. Other than that and having a Target shopping center nearby, those are the only good qualities here. Will we ever stay here again. Not on your life! Oh and don't let their description of sounding so close to the airport and port fool you. They ultimately need probably 2 more shuttle vans to make their scheduling a little more realistic. Most hotel shuttle vans for other area hotels are smart and have trailers for luggage. This place does not. Last but not least, don't even try and take your breakfast which is all on recyclable plates and utensils to your room. Apparently you can eat and drink anything else in the room but the desk clerks will certainly turn you back. So much for trying to have our 4 year old eat in the room while we get ready. I could go on and on but I will spare you. I'm sure you get the point by now.

This place is not cool at all. First off, my room was not ready at check in time(3pm), my wife and I had to wait in the car for an hour and half. The actual room was okay but the bathroom was terrible. Hair and ants where in the shower, the bathroom was not clean at all. I was scared to take a shower. The hotel does have a lil bar on site

When I checked in I SPECIFICALLY ASKED how late the pool was open. I was told 10 o'clock. I went out for a bite to eat, not rushing back because I knew I had until 10:00 to jump In the pool before I climbed into bed. I wend down about 9:40, and I was told by the bartender that the pool was already closed. I called the front desk to inquire, and was told that the pool closes at twenty or quarter of. I said that wasn't what I was told at checkin. She said that if it's closed it's closed.
This is an ok hotel, but totally not worth the money.

I don't know why they charged so much for a room in this hotel. Rooms are ok, staff are somewhat helpful... but things could improve. Location is great. Stores are within walking distance (ok long walking distance). For instance, walk to Whole Foods was about 20 minutes one way.

Worst customer service ever. I was on a cruise with my son and sister, leaving out of Ft. lauderdale. We arrived before check in time, our fault. However, the front desk staff turned this mistake into a horrible nightmare. We were completely ignored. My sister who arrived later could not locate the hotel airport shuttle. When she called the front desk for help, she was insulted and told it was her fault she could not find the shuttle. No apologies. She had to take a taxi to the hotel. We missed the shuttle to the cruise line terminal the next morning due to no fault of ours. The hotel staff simply could not be bothered to communicate the protocol or schedule. When I complained, I was yelled at and dismissed. Again, no apologies, and we had to take a taxi to the cruise line terminal. I guess, many people who stay at this hotel do so because of it's advertised proximity to the airport , the cruise line terminal and free shuttle. Otherwise why will anyone put up with the rude, unprofessional, unfriendly and uncaring front desk staff. After my trip, I had the time to read all the reviews and it made me wonder why all these people still have jobs?

Absolutely horrible service. The receptionist Valerie was rude and useless. Our reservation was booked incorrectly and instead of offering to fix it she said "it's not my fault, I didn't book it." She was on her iPad and watching the lobby tv the entire time. She obviously couldn't be bothered. She kept cutting us off and yelling that she was going to charge was way more because of the mistake made at the reservation because again it was not her problem. I logged a complaint against her with the Best Western 800 number because her manager did not have a card there. Do not stay there. The room is not worth dealing with Valerie. She should not have a job. I will never go there again.

This is an old hotel with a coat of fresh paint. I chose it for the location (1/2 mike from Mai Kai) and price.
They did a nice job of landscaping the pool. Putting a 7 foot tall decorative wood fence around it and a Florida "Tiki Bar" on one end.
Staff is generally nice but at a small hotel like this you can't expect top notch service industry staff!?!

I booked this motel because it was the cheapest non-scary place in the area. Most of the reviews are bad, but we had a good stay. Check in was quick, parking was adequate, room was clean and everything worked.
Free breakfast was good, but note that they make you (and you are watched) keep the breakfast in the breakfast area. Waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal and pastries. Sure I would prefer to eat in my room as many people would, but this is likely due to jerks taking big plates of food to their room or perhaps dropping food everywhere.
I would stay again. Just look for a good rate and don't expect a 5 star experience.

Horrible front desk staff. They were rude on the phone while booking a room and unfriendly in person. It says something when you won't risk sitting on the couch in the room! The VCR in the room was a good indicator that this place has not been updated in years.. Also it says something when you can't breathe due to the heavy musty odor.
1. Don't stay here
2. If you are forced to stay here with no other choice, wear socks or shoes in the room.
3. The sheets may or may not be safe. Use at your own risk... Inspect for hair.

First off let me say that I didn't stay here but I had business associates who did, I visited the establishment, spoke with the people at the front desk, the cleaning staff and spent considerable time here so other than knowing how the bed actually felt, I feel that I've experienced enough of the place to review.
The main lobby is small, really small, but has been remodeled so that it looks rather good. However, if there are a number of people waiting for their rides or other transportation or with their baggage it can become rather crowded with little seating available.
I did the check-in and payment for my associates, speaking with the gentlemen at their front desk. He wasn't the friendliest of guys to be behind a reception desk, but was mannerly enough and did his job effectively. When we went to the rooms, I found them to be decent enough for budget lodging, generally about par for the course, though I thought they were somewhat more pricey than they should be and not comparable to other nearby competitive motels/hotels.
The good thing about it is, however, its location near the corner of Oakland Park Blvd. and North Federal Highway. There are all sorts of rather good restaurants, bars and of course the Coral Ridge Mall, all within easy walking distance. However, and though they'd like you to believe "minutes from the beach," it's not, that is not unless could access a rail rocket. Then if do go down Oakland Park Blvd. to the beach, you run smack into the southern edge of the high rises of Galt Ocean Mile, and though they purport to have beach access, that doesn't necessarily mean "public" beach access. Then, though I'd be inclined to question the lawfulness of it, all of what I consider to be the super hideous high rises of the Galt Ocean Mile generally pride themselves in having what are "private beachfronts."
As for amenities, they have a pool, which I would just term as being OK, and sort of an afterthought of an exercise facility which has the simple but up to date basics of a good one of those bicycle type things and other rather basic exercise equipment.
On the good side I found the cleaning staff exceptional friendly and cheerful; oddly enough more so than the management of reception staff.

We booked an overnight stay here back in January when it was the Best Western Oakland Pank Inn to stay this past weekend for a Tab Benoit concert. When we arrived, we found out that 2 weeks ago, it converted to a Ramada property. We had a lovely stay, used their pool, and found the property to be
very clean and tidy, quiet and nice beds. You could tell it was an older hotel, but well kept and "kitsch" in design. Neighborhood is a little gritty, but once inside it was a nice oasis. It does not present itself as a luxury property by any means- but we felt welcome and enjoyed ourselves
