I've stayed at this location in the past and my review has remained constant: the staff from reservations to the front desk is always friendly and attends to one's needs.  The hotel is going through a remodeling but the noise was not noticeable nor service interrupted.  Great location for visiting the Fort Lauderdale beaches and when departing for a cruise.  As with other hotels, I wish someone would address the loud slaming doors (adjust the hydraulics on the door or something).  Breakfast could be improved but is similar to most hotels with poor attempts a.  t scrambled eggs and some type of meat.  Parking is great and right in front of the hotel, ice machines always working, tv's could be updted and better cable channels, and pool is clean with plenty of poolside chairs.  So, for me this works as the main problem I mostly had was with rude/noisey guests but this also seems more and more common .

Let me start out by saying I travel very often and stay at a very wide rage of hotels - from roadside motels to the Four Seasons... This Comfort Suites is one of the worst lodgings I've ever encountered.  

I came to Ft Lauderdale for a weeklong training course provided by the company I work for. They chose Comfort Suites because it was the closest hotel to the school I'd be attending. I later realized that had the room not already been paid for in full I most certainly would have opted for another location - ANY other location.

The trouble began at the airport of all places - the hotel offers a shuttle service - while waiting for my luggage to arrive at baggage claim I called the hotel to arrange pick up, an the click that answered explained how to get the the shuttle waiting area and informed me that it would arrive in 15 minutes. I waited for 30 minutes before calling back to inquire when the shuttle might actually arrive - "any minute sir" I called again 20 minutes later to get the same response. After waiting 55 minutes the shuttle arrived. (now, had I simply been told an honest time frame - I would have happily taken a taxi an thought nothing of it - but no, I was lied to... Twice...)

From the lack of desk attendants to the lack of reliable elevators to the incompetence of the maids I was shocked again and again. Most notably - one morning while running late to get to class I hurried into the area they serve their complimentary breakfast (I immediately understood why it was free - I wouldn't serve their "prepared" food to a pet) so I grabbed a beagle from the displayed bagel rack. I made it about ten feet out of the front lobby when a kitchen staff member flagged me down and began YELLING at me that I neglected to use the tongs to collect my stale bagel. I immediately asked the woman to calm down and she exclaimed "Don't you tell ME to calm down"! I asked to stop yelling at me and I received "I'M NOT YELLING - you will KNOW when I yell at you" as a reply. The angry woman then asked if I was staying at the hotel and I calmly gave her my name and room number, to which she replied: " You're a LIER! Don't EVER come back to MY hotel again!"
At this point, I lost my patience and fired back at the woman that I wanted to speak to her superior. She followed me to the front desk where the attendant confirmed that I was staying at the hotel - I began to explain to the clerk what had occurred outside the lobby but was abrasively cut off by the guilty woman. I quickly explained that I was running late and had no time to deal with this "situation".
When I returned around lunchtime the front desk attendant explain that "she was new" and that "she thought I was a vagrant". A vagrant? I was wearing head to town clean and pressed Banana Republic!

The "complimentary public printers" were consistently out of ink - 3 out of the 7 days I stayed I did not receive new toiletries (INCLUDING toilet paper!) AND every single day I was required to reprogram my room keys with the front desk as a "security precaution".

Oh, and the bathtub and sink backed up with with the contents of other rooms's sewage after EVERy use. Every morning while attempting to take a shower I has to clean the tub out myself to avoid bathing in the filth of others.  

Left on hold for for 10 to fifteen minutes for simple questions down to the front desk... Pull a manager out of their office to help at the front desk if you're overwhelmed!

I arrived from a late night flight with my family.  We expected to arrive at a "2 queen beds, suite", but instead we arrived a scummy, small room with two double beds.  Since there wasn't enough room for everyone to sleep comfortable, we called the front desk to ask for a cotton. They said the fire code won't allow them to put cots in rooms with "2 doubles".  We then asked for a room with two queen beds. The women at the front desk told me that we had a queen beds.  I asked what size she thinks a queen bed is, and her answer was 52'. After telling her that a queen bed by definition is 60' by 80', she hangs up the phone on me. After dealing with her rudeness, I turned on the TV to cool off. Somehow the hotel found the only cable plan that has only 12 channels.

We stayed here for the night before our cruise and the staff and room was great. Since we had three people the very nice manager complimentary upgraded us to a suite which was fantastic after our long day of traveling. It was a great location, there are fast food restaurants next door and across the street, and there was a Outback Steakhouse just a short walk down the road. Also, having the CVS right next door made it great for our last minute beverages and snacks. The morning breakfast is a standard hotel breakfast with a Belgium waffle maker which was a big hit for our group. The shuttle made it very easy to get to the cruise terminal for a minimal fee. I would stay here again.

Some of these other reviews are unfair.  If you want over the top luxury and overpriced hotel rooms, go stay at the Hilton.  I had a very pleasant experience at the Comfort Suites by the airport.  We stayed for a night right before our cruise.  Our room was clean, they gave us a nice welcome bag, and because we were tired from our red eye flight, we were allowed to check in early.  Comeal Bennett at the front desk was a sweet heart.  She didn't have to let us check in early but she went out of her way to accomodate us.  This type of customer service is appreciated after a looooong flight.  The hotel was clean and they even provided shuttle service to the port for us.  We used our Choice Privilege points to stay here and I'm glad this kind of establishment is on the list of available hotels to use with reward points.  I would highly recommend it.  Lots of near by restaurants.  Nice gym and pool also.  Thank you, Comeal and thank you Comfort Suites.

For affordable accommodation in Ft. Lauderdale, this place gets the job done. I only stayed one night but was picked up and dropped off with their free shuttle service to/from the airport. All of the staff at the front desk, housekeeping and breakfast attendant, were all very nice and helpful. The facility was clean and well kept, maybe just updated based on previous reviews? Had it not been raining I definitely would have used the pool, but I did utilized the gym. It had just the right amount of equipment and a big tv. The breakfast was average, like any other hotel, with mainly packaged, processed foods. There were some fresh fruit options available though. If you're like me and just passing through this place is just fine.

This was a great place to stay the night before our cruise. The rates were reasonable, the room was clean and the complimentary breakfast was filling. They offered a free shuttle from the airport and a reasonably a priced one to Port Everglades. The front desk personnel were knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located near the main drag that takes you to the beach. It was within walking distance to fast food, CVS, and many restaurants. The trolley stop was nearby and, for $3, you can ride down to the peach. A Publix and The Wine Store are an easy 5 block walk.

Everything was fine except when it was time to checkout and wait for the cruise-port shuttle. The lady at the front desk kept her cool even though she was the only one working the desk at checkout.

This place is aptly named.  It's not luxurious, but it's very comfortable.   It's modern, but not wierdly avant-guarde, like the W.  This hotel is very clean, roons are good -sized,  nice amenities like a pretty large mini fridge and even a little microwave.  Beds are clean, but the sheets are a little rough, but not enough to make them uncomfortable.  Bathroom is big, water is hot and flows well, shower head is great!  Location is pretty close to airport and cruiseport, there's a trolly to beachfront area for $1.

Misleading on shuttle information. Hotel was good with early check in but they advertise shuttle to the ports and when you get here they tell you it is $6 per person.  She. You have 7 people that is pretty pricy when you were under the impression it is free! We won't stay here next trip

Decent hotel with a lot included for the price: Airport shuttle,  hot breakfast, wifi, HBO.  The staff were all courteous but tired.  Really good location next to 24 CVS that sells beer & wine.
Room seemed clean,  less so after I found someone's old beer bottle cap under the desk.  That makes me wonder what else was missed. But it did not feel dirty at all. TV was large but not showing in HD, which seems weird because it was able to.

Not the most exiting area in Ft.Lauderdale, but there is basic shopping needs nearby.. It's pretty close to the casino.. Price is good. Big rooms.. Clean. Fast check in. I dug the one night I spent there.

I slept in a bed that had been urinated in the night before!

My husband spends over 200 nights a year in Choice Hotels... or at least, he did until 2 months ago. In mid-January, a friend and I used some of my husbands points to stay at Comfort Suites Airport & Cruise Port before departing on our annual "girls' cruise". Everything seemed fine until the next morning when I awoke to a strong stench of urine. At first I thought it was the whole room, but when my friend didn't smell anything, I discovered it was my bed! Apparently, the previous guest (hopefully a child) must have the wet the bed the night before. I jumped out of bed and into the shower as fast as possible.
Meanwhile, my friend called the front desk to register a complaint. A manager and another staff member arrived at our room to investigate, but they refused to actually smell the bed. No apology was rendered, but they were clearly as grossed out as I was. When I asked why housekeeping hadn't at least flipped the mattress, they replied, "Maybe she didn't notice". Seriously! White sheets on the bed, and the housekeeper didn't notice that someone had wet the bed?
Upon checking out, there was still no apology. While we were standing outside waiting for our taxi, I really started to get mad. I returned to the front desk to ask what they were going to do about the bed for the next guest. Her response was that the manager was giving me back 1/2 of the points spent for the room. Okay, that didn't answer my question, but I wasn't going to argue about getting points returned to my husband's account.
Two months have passed, and I've contacted the hotel twice, and Choice Hotels once. No points have been credited to my husband's account. I think the front desk clerk was just trying to placate me when she promised me the partial refund.
One other note, why would anyone take the hotel shuttle to the cruise port? After a long wait in the lobby amongst piles of luggage, everyone is herded like cattle onto a shuttle to the cruise pier. A taxi is only $10 to the pier. If you have 2 people, a taxi is definitely the cheaper, faster and more convenient choice.

This was a good affordable hotel. The room was very clean, big TV, staff is friendly. I had to take away a star because one of the room cleaners was in the hallway talking about how people needed to hurry up and check out so she can get the rooms cleaned and go home, when I walked out of my room she immediately asked if I was checking out. It just seemed like she was eager to get everyone out. Another day I heard her talking about how she was beat as a child... Not very professional.
The free breakfast isn't very good. The eggs are gross, the bakery items are stale and the cereal is off brand Cheerios, raisin bran and frosted flakes.
Another perk to this place is that it is close to everything you need. There is a shopping center, many fast food options, restaurants, gas stations, car rentals, all in walking distance and there is a cvs store open 24 hours right next door.
