The place hosted a large event while we were in town, and they did a great job.  Could've used a few more bartenders, but that's always the case when open bar and free munchies are offered.  Any other day, it's looks like it'd be a great dive bar with people watching (as fellow yelpers have mentioned).  Seemingly less expensive than places further down the main drag.  If you up for pitcher beer and wings, I'd make a stop here first.

Great location for a hotel and reasonably priced for what it is...a block from the beach and marina, close to the Galleria Mall in Ft. Lauderdale, and easy access to the freeway to go south to Miami or north to Boca Raton.

Free to park, even to valet...which is good.  Restaurant and bar as well as pool and spa are on the premises...also good.

The rooms themselves I'd say are so-so...nothing special but relatively decent.  Some even have kitchens and a dinette set if you want to stock up on grub to eat in your room.

The place is kind of run down and definitely NOT luxurious by any means but it does the job and is a great place to put your head down.

This review is just for the bar which is a cool dive with a mix of locals and tourists.  Happy hour from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Cool place to stop off while boating and grab some beer and wings or to go for after work happy hour.  Get drunk and get a room!

Days Inn Bahia Cabana Beach Resort room was clean, kitchenette, but had seen better days was decent, pool, restaurant, valet parking at no extra charge for hotel guests but we managed to find limited parking.  The restaurant has a water view with decent seafood.

I like local. I also like unpredictable. Safe, staid, prissy and pretentious bore me to no end, whether it be people or places.

So if you want things on the safe side with things that have to be "just so", avoid the Bahia Cabana Beach Bar at all costs. You'll just freak out over shady looking local characters, loud Southern Fried music and vacationers having a really good time. And the occasional rodent.

But if you're one of those folks that don't mind sharing your food with a flyby pelican, magpie, or possibly the dude on his 4th margarita sitting one table over, the Bahia Cabana Beachbar/Restaurant is a lot of fun. I've never gotten past the appetizers, especially the Smoked Fish Dip (with pickled jalepeos), the conch fritters, and conch chowder (red based and tomato-y). There's never any need to order more. All are PERFECT with cold Red Stripe and don't put a dent in your vacation budget.

The beachbar/restaurant is located in the back of the Days In Bahia Cabana Beach Resort, but we were just there for the munchies, beer and a view of the fishing and sportboats coming in and out of the inlet. The bar/restaurant is open to the air, with enough covering to keep from frying your hide in the SoFL sun and it has a great local feel, despite being smack in the middle of tourist central.

It was "rustic" enough for me to totally disregard the water rat scurrying along a nearby retaining wall, which may explain the lack of tourists. But hey, that happens along the water here in Southern Maryland all the time, no big deal. And he didn't ask for a bit of my Smoked Fish Dip, so it was all good.

This review is not for the hotel or guest services, it is for the bar... the awesomely eclectic, outdoor, weird people attracting bar.  I really liked the atmosphere of this place.  Located on the water it was  such a nice change of pace from the other places in the area.  The drinks were priced pretty normally and the drinks were tasty (even if they were a little weak.)  Based on the bar alone, I am totally pumped to possibly stay here in the future.  Such a good location with a great vibe.

I didn't have a chance to eat here, but I have to say the specials sounded really good, and original - I bet they have a good chef.

This place is a slice of Key West in Ft. Lauderdale. The crowd is very laid back with zero pretentiousness. The staff went out of their way to make sure our group had a blast. Thanks Bill! I will definitely be staying there again.

OK. I learned a valuable lesson in keeping an open mind while staying at the Days Inn Bahia Cabana. This hotel made me cry when we checked in at 12:30 a.m. We were shown the room we booked which was a SUPER small room with a queen bed located by the pool. The hotel clerk was so, so nice and suggested we move to a different room with two double beds which was much bigger but by the bar. However, after touring the hotel at such a late hour (after traveling) and seeing drunk, topless 40 and 50 year olds in the pool...I cried. We were going to be staying here for 5 days and I wasn't sure I was going to make it.
The light of day changed my perspective a bit. The staff is all really nice, the rooms are livable and clean (even though they don't really look it) and the food at the bar/restaurant is super reasonable and actually really good. We totally recommend the breakfast burrito and the fish tacos. The rooms are pretty noisy because the bar has a happy hour at 7 am....and is only closed for like 4 hours a day. They have a lot of live music which is great if you are awake and not so great if you are trying to sleep. Its right across the street from the beach and the bar overlooks a nice marina. The location really can't be beat.
So, overall...its a little scary at first, but it really grew on me. My boyfriend and I may even return for anniversary trip....

Good music and a very laid back crowd.  We were not there 5 minutes and looking at the menu when the friends I was with asked if the blackened dolphin was "real dolphin" and the people at the table behind us asked us if we wanted to have a taste and then handed us a huge chunk of dolphin (oh yeah, the fish, not the mammal!!)  That is laid back; apparently, if you catch something while you are there or out, you can bring it back to the restaurant and ask them to prepare it - is that cool or what?!?!?
The service was great and very, very fast.  The food was standard bar fare, with seafood thrown in, but everything was hot, the drinks were cold and the place had a really cool vibe.  As a warning, it is South Beach pricey, but for the time we had, it was definitely worth the extra scratch!!
It was kind of funny, because our friends had eaten there in the morning and commented on the fact that they thought that it was a biker bar!!  Far from it - there were not a whole lot of bikers in the house tonight!  They also commented on the morning food as "Southern-style, stick to your ribs, high cholesterol goodness"!!
    Definitely worth the visit!!

Remember to tip your waitresses well - they deserve it!!

PS - to top off the whole experience, there was some lunk in a boat that had come to drink and was annoyed by the noise of the customers at the restaurant and decided to sit in his boat and honk the horn (CLASSIC!!).  The "bouncers" quickly retired to the dock, had a short chat with the lad, helped his wife onto the boat and then threw his lines off with a hardy HO-HO!!  Great show, great show!!

An absolute DUMP.  Way too much money for a filthy, rundown, smelly and noisy motel.  Should cost $30 - $40.  Awful experience.  Do like we were told to do when we got there by a guest leaving......don't go in there!!

    Fried fish tacos are huge!
Solid southern seafood on the menu.

No beer on tap.  Bottle/Can only.-bummer.

Great outdoor bar atmosphere right on the water.

I knew the Bahia Cabana was going to be entertaining as I was walking into the bathroom before I planted it at the bar.  What was it heading to the bathroom that made me think this?  A picture of Jimmy Buffett from 2005 playing at the Bahia Cabana.  Game on.  If it's Buffett-approved how can it be anything less than authentic-beachy?

Anyways, it's what you (hopefully) think of when thinking of a Florida beach bar.  What drew me to this bar was its proximity to the Bahia Mar Marina in which you face while sitting in the restaurant/bar-area.  I'm a huge John D MacDonald/Travis McGee fan so I wanted a place to sit and have a cocktail and stare out at where the Busted Flush would've been tied up.  On a side note, it's pretty disappointing that the Travis McGee monument is now inside of a little guest services office....but that's neither here-nor-there.

The first couple times I went to Bahia Cabana I just had drinks.  I'm not huge on beer but I had a Corona and a tequila sunrise.  The tequila sunrise was excellent and not weak as most touristy places make them.  The bartenders are friendly-yet-feisty and know what they're doing.  I have now eaten here twice and the food has always been excellent.  The hamburgers are HUGE and the chicken wings are flocking-good! What's unique about the bar is that it's round and you either have a view of the marina or the Blues Brothers (I think) sitting next to the jacuzzi as some of the rooms are right outside of the bar.  The restaurant is a good size and you can sit in from the sun or at a picnic-style table right on the water where the boats are tied up.

I think this bar is all what you make it.  If you like adventure stories and Florida mysteries this bar would be what you're looking for.  If you are looking for a laid back place to tell BS stories and dream of owning one of the yachts in the marina, this bar is for you.  If you are looking for the loud and obnoxious club/crooked hat with sticker on top scene, you should probably keep venturing down the A1A to that scene.

I will definitely keep regular'ing the Bahia Cabana.

I will not review this hotel as if it was the Hilton like others do, because it costs 1/3 of the price. It's basic in a fantastic location right across the street from a public beach.  I did have a very scary experience on the last day of my 4-day stay when a man (possibly hotel employee) keyed into my room with no warning.  I was standing next to my bed changing clothes around 5:30pm and the door clicked and he came right in.  Extremely flustered, I asked him what he was doing there. In broken English, he told me he needed to 'fix the room.'  I grabbed my purse and literally ran out the door past him.  I came back hours later and nothing was missing but I slept with the dresser up against the door, assuming  (hoping) he must have been maintenance.  Early the next morning I reported the incident to Bahia Cabana hotel staff and they said they had no idea why a man would have been keying into rooms at that time of day, and he wasn't sure who he was.  Super creepy, traveling as a single woman alone :(

This place was great!......In the 70s.  I went there off of a recommendation from the Boy Scouts as we were traveling to the keys for a Sea Base Adventure.  Not exactly a hotel to bring scouts to.  I am 90% sure I saw a hooker, and had a cross dresser loitering there as well.  The boys found a spent condom in their common area.  I assume that a Hee Haw convention was being held at the hotel the night I was staying there as well. No hot water.  The only upside is that Jimmy Buffet played there about 10 years ago.

Bed bugs! Just horrible! I left the hotel with bites all over my shoulders and back. Online the hotel looks decent. First impression? disappointing! Big mistake. Walked into the room and all you can smell was bleach. Housekeeping was a joke. We had to go pick up our linens from the front desk, requested extra pillows and was told they didn't have any extras. I wouldn't  recommend this place.

This place is a DUMP!!! Looks like a sleazy Motel 6 from the '60. Or something like the tacky motel Candy & Martin stayed @ in movie Trains, Planes and Automobiles.

Immediacy switched on a nights pouring like shit to Harbor Side Marriott. $399/night compared to $104/night. Call me high maintenance, a diva but I want to be safe as woman traveling alone. No way.

Review is for hotel stay only. No parking. No water pressure. No hot water, ever. We reported it, but nothing changed. Thought we were staying by restaurant or pool but we were down the street in a whole different location. The location across from the beach is ok, but I will never come back. It's a dump.

Great location near the beach & the yacht harbor.
Cool bar & restaurant connected to the hotel with some decent inexpensive food.
    Comfy king sized bed.
    Great price for the room.
    Close to downtown Ft Lauderdale.
The rooms are run down a bit & could use a remodel.
Took a while for the hot water to come out the shower.
The wi fi has a terrible & slow signal.
Take some good with the bad but we came back for a second time so go figure.

This hotel sucks!  Is so dirty,  abandoned,  the walls are all scratched, bathroom tub is so disgusting black cracks I was not able to get a shower here. Curtains are falling apart, smoke detectors falling, carpet super dirty, It feels like I'm saying at the hunted house.
No maintenance what so ever! I can't believe the allowed places like this to the public. I'm packing and leaving elsewhere can't stand here another hour.

If you don't care where you sleep, or how old a place may be... By all means, stay here!

We stayed here as a last resort for one night only. Anyone can say this place needs a renovation! ! Everything is old, smelly, dirty, itchy beds.... Just not comfortable at all. Only plus? Better than sleeping in the streets.

Disgusting hotel to stay. Smells like dirty feet. Nothing works, carpet is dirty, there is crap on the toilet.
The bathroom looks horrible, it has cracks and broken pieces. How can they allow anyone to stay here. The walls are dirty, paint is pealing, and curtains smell like cigarettes. This place is disgusting.

Old but clean. We stayed here because it was a pickup spot on the Everglades safari tour we booked.

This place is ok for a quick overnight prior to a cruise but definitely not for a longer stay.
