Ok. It's at best ok. This is not a relaxing fun vacation hotel. This is OK for bear bones business stay.  (If your employer is a cheap fu..... or if you just can't afford $15 more for a decent hotel.) Overall if I can help it I will not stay here again. Avoid this place, it is cheap for a reason.

My boyfriend and I stayed here before boarding our cruise. We flew in late, and were told the complimentary shuttle was no longer picking people up. After a $30 cab ride we arrived and checked in (we had a reservation). Sleepily we went to the room, only to find a dirty bathroom. When we alerted the staff they checked it out-- and by it I mean the vomit on the toilet-- BUT they did not clean it! Should we have monitored their progress? We tried the complimentary breakfast, which was cereal, donuts, coffee, and juice. It was okay, but there wasn't any fruit or yogurt. They also offer shuttle service to the ports, which we are going to use, although I am feeling dubious. . .

pls avoid it if you can .  the shuttle and breakfast is the selling point otherwise paying even 60$ a night is terrible for this place . the train noise , run down structure , not clean ..

I'm sorry to report that this hotel is a smear on the reputation of the Days Inn Hotel chain. Tonight as I entered our  "non-smoking" room,  I was nearly bowled over with the cigarette smell. I was going to call and ask to change rooms, but I decided to tough it out. Next, I put my suitcase on the suitcase rack and due to the rickety design I had to quickly grab the case to keep it from hitting the floor. Annoyed, but willing to continue, I went to set a password on the safe to put in my wallet, passport etc... so I could go workout in the gym, and the lock wouldn't work. Then, between the beds and by the front door is a (dare I type this) sticky stain (still wet)....  So with that I had to call the desk. I believe Brandon (I might have that wrong) answered and when I asked politely if I could change rooms to one farther from the smoking area, he sounded like he was stifling a laugh. He said "we're nearly to capacity." I asked him to please move me as the safe was broken as well. I won't recount the entire convo, but his response was less than accommodating - this prompted me to YELP.  I got the feeling that the undercurrent from the hotel here is: "sorry sucker!"

I will be applying for a refund. Stay tuned and I'll let you know how the management handles this. I hope that this is a gross misunderstanding and that they will do right by those of us here (there are several of us here for a work related function) - if not, then this place is just downright GROSS and I have to Yelp it.

(By the way - the shuttle driver is the best thing about this place. He was nice, polite and very helpful. I wish I knew his name - HE gets 5 stars!)

We stayed at this hotel for only one night since we were going on a cruise the next day.  We first walked in the room was very dusty and the carpets were extremely dirty. I wanted to take a shower but there was a roach in the bathtub and that prevented me from doing so. Next, the kids went in bed they were screaming of coach roaches on the night stand. Once the light was off, we killed more than 10 roaches coming out of the alarm clock. We then called maintenance, a guy with a tank of chemicals came to spray the room while the kids were sleeping. I was up all night due to the noise of the train. If you're looking for a nasty, disgusting, filthy place full of roaches this is it. I would never recommend this motel to anyone.

Very helpful they offer complimentary airport & port shuttle service.
The location is not good. It is very close to train tracks & they go by very often. It was very loud.
    The front desk was fine.
Room was ok, clean. Could definitely be updated & bath tub needs to be scoured.
There are not many places for eating within an acceptable walking distance as the area was not a great area to walk in. There is a restaurant right on site, but we chose not to eat there.
This hotel worked for the very short 1 night stay before our cruise, but we would not stay again.

This is a terrible hotel. There were people blasting rap music late at night, the safe was broken, and we couldn't use it yet we still got charged for it. Couldn't sleep all night. Then the room next door had the fire alarm go off at 2 am. Also the there is a train that goes by blasting the horn every few minutes! This was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. Didn't sleep a wink the entire night. I don't recommend staying here!

stayed here cause it was close to the airport after a crazy miami WMC trip. The staff was rude, there was absolutely no Wifi even if you wanted to pay, i saw a few cockroaches and there were actual drug dealers trying to sell me drugs in the parking lot. real fun place...be sure to bring the kids. O ya and a random screaming train at various points in the night really adds to the excitement.

If you can, AVOID this place. The front desk staff is rude and unhelpful. The location is awful; there is a train that crosses next door and it sounds it's horn before crossing the intersection... every fifteen minutes! The elevator is slow and unreliable. The key cards do not work. The water is yellow and smelly.

I will elaborate. We arrived here to stay the night before leaving on a cruise the following day, and the room was booked for us by my fiance's company. When we all arrived the front desk woman, despite having no other customers waiting, became incredibly frazzled by our presence. Each time the phone rang she was visibly startled, and told them to call back later, or placed them on a bleak and lengthy hold.

Once we got our room, we headed up in the worlds slowest elevator. We found our room, and inserted our key card... and it would not work. So I took the stairs down to the lobby and told her of the problem. She insisted that I had put the key next to my cell phone, chastised me and issued me another key card... which, after running up the stairs to avoid the glacial elevator, shockingly, didn't work. So I ran down the stairs again, and saw the front desk woman chastising another person about putting their key by their phone, because their key was also inoperable. I told her that my key still wasn't working. So with quite a lot of attitude, and as third customer with a key issue walked in, she called a maintenance man. The maintenance man had the best customer service in the whole joint. For that, I praise him. He smacked the handle sharply up after inserting the key and got the lock working again. Apparently, this is a common and regular issue for the locks here.

Once in the room, I took a look around... and noticed that it looked like someone had already peed in our toilet! But alas, it was not pee, but rather the eerily yellow, and ammonia scented water of the hotel. I realized this when I ran the faucet only to find the same faint yellow, stinky water coming out as well. To the defense of the water, while it was yellow, and stinky, it tasted okay... but other than a small sip, I could not bring myself to drink this water.

When it came time to sleep, the bed was passable, but the outside noise was not! The area is terrible and there were noisy streetfolk (bums, prostitutes, runaways) outside at night, and the continual honking horn of the train that passes by next door to this hotel. Every 15-20 minutes without fail, "HOOOONNNNKKKK!!!!" Try sleeping through that without pharmaceutical assistance... Oh yea, and it flashes it's lights also. So if you have a room facing the street, your room also becomes illuminated with each passing train.

There was a continental breakfast in the morning, which wasn't terrible. The breakfast and the maintenance man's attitude were probably the only okay things about this whole experience for me.

UNLESS... you're flat broke with ample patience and a bottle of ambien. Otherwise, this hotel is a hotter mess than Britney circa 2007, except that I doubt this hotel can rise again... It is not worth whatever savings you might get. You could not pay me to stay here again.

This place is a joke.....seriously a dive.  I'm sitting in my room right now regretting that I didn't read the yelp reviews before booking this place.  Please do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake.  You'll feel dirty, uncomfortable, unsafe if you stay here

My bad, I needed four nights that included Easter Weekend.  I stayed here last year ($56/night) and the location is fine (if you enjoy sounds of the train, which I do).  This year: new stucco over the old brick has changed the appearance (though not for the better). Inside, the carpets, bedcovers, drapes, sheets and towels are all the same (but another year older and sadder).

In room amenities include a cathode ray television in a beatup pressboard armoire which also houses the refer and microwave.  There is a granite sink counter, and a granite tub surround, but the plastic toilet seat is so low and thin that when seated your junk will be under water. Why management spent $1000 on stonework and only $9 on a toilet seat is a mystery.

Kudos to the desk staff, all dedicated to customer satisfaction. No kudos for the Breakfast Attendant who was unable to keep fresh coffee and fruit available or the dining room cleaned.  Lucky for her many friends, she remained in constant telephone contact during her shift.  Bonus for patrons: no tipping required.

Overall, a decent property, well located, nice pool, and (limited) free coffee and bagels in the morning.  A good deal if you can snag a $60 room rate.

Don't recommend it. Pictures hide a lot. Here a week and on day 5. Giant roach in the room.  Had to walk down 4 times to get a working key for my room. Water was shut off for partial day. Elevator was off one day. And it's suppose to have wifi free available at your room But so far it has not worked the past 5 days and when asked about they just say "it's down" and fixing it doesn't seem promising. Not worth it book as a last resort.

Good place to stay the night. King sweet had plenty of room. Free WiFi, pool, newer good looking rooms. I would stay here again. Pettis is very good for what you get.

This place is truly a dive and a dump. Checked in and as I came out of the "lobby" an old homeless man hit me up for money. Followed me to my car and was quite insistent I give him money. I told him to leave me alone.

I had a room on the 5th floor adjacent to the elevator. The place was musty, moldy and very dirty and stained carpet. The bedspreads were dirty and smelled of mildew. The bathroom was small, dirty and had disgusting hair and "dust bunnies" on the floor. Bath towels were thin and hardly got the job done.

Traffic noise on Oakland Park Blvd was unbearable at all hours of the night. Plus the traffic from I-95 didn't help. There were trains about every 45 minutes blowing their horn as they crossed into the intersection. Forget about sleeping in this hotel.

The parking lot was full of shady characters probably drug dealers. The transients (homeless) in the area were scoping out cars for valuables - even had a flashlight. Watched for about 20 minutes from the 5th floor and could see all the activity.

The desk clerk on the morning of my checkout could hardly figure out how to close out my folio. Stoned or just lazy - who knows.

Forget this place. I only stayed there and spent $89.00 as other hotels were booked.

Wish I could give 0 stars. This place is disgusting. I will be sure to read Yelp reviews in the future.

On top of serious gross rooms (stains on carpet, hairs in the bed, etc.) the customer service is wanting. I booked here based on the (what I was told to be frequent) airport shuttle. I went down to the lobby at 1:07 today and was told that the next shuttle could pick me up at 2. That was not ideal, but I decided to wait. At 1:35 I was then told that the driver was "busy at the port" and could not pick me up until 3. I was forced to pay for a taxi ($25) to take me to the airport. The manager refused to comp the taxi even though I was just told that the shuttle runs "every hour." STAY AWAY!!!!

Disgusting. BED BUGS. I took photos and I captured actual bed bugs and took them to the front desk and sent the photos to the manager and they still wouldn't refund us. In fact, they didn't even bother to respond to our many attempts. I sat in a chair all night because I wouldn't sleep in the bed.

Do you want access to the airport with a free shuttle? (Warning the shuttle does NOT run after midnight, make sure you arrive before or its a $35 taxi fee you will pay)
    Do you want free wifi?
Do you want a cheap price?

This place is for you if you answered yes to all the above.

I'm not sure why everyone is complaining, you get what you pay for.  If they have bedbugs in some of their rooms (ours did not, and was pretty clean) then stay in a place that is more expensive, however, it doesn't really matter how expensive a room is you can still get bed bugs, people bring them in from all over the world.

The guy that was at the window checkin at our 1am checkin was fantastic and had some of the best customer service i've seen in a while.

We got a late checkout which was great.

Check out the little cafe there, yes you have to pay.  I had oatmeal, toast and two made to order eggs for my daughter for $5, super cheap and the owners are super friendly.

I think many of the reviews are bogus and are competitors.  I'm not sure where some of the pictures came from, but we had an updated room that had newer carpet and furniture.

You get a mini fridge and toiletries not bad for paying a dirt cheap price with free shuttle and free wifi!

This would be my go to place if i ever stayed in Ft. Lauderdale again.
