Beautiful landscaping, 2 blocks from the beach, rooms have mini-kitchens with full sized coffee pot and a fridge.  Property has 2 fairly large pools and a 12-15 person jacuzzi.  The complex is older, the same with the other resorts in the immediate area, but well worth the moderate room pricing.  If you're looking for a men-only guesthouse close to the beach and Wilton Manors, this should be on your short list.

Booked a room here since Worthington was full, but we took the chance to stay here one night just to see how it was. Room was booked 4 months in advance. We arrive, and the front desk guy tells us, " Oh, you are staying at our other resort, Winterset" I was like, what in the world are you talking about, I am not staying somewhere else. It is a straight resort down the block! Front desk guy, " Oh, your room isn't available." I will spare you all the details, but basically they gave away my room for no reason, did not offer a discount, and made me stay at a resort where children were screaming outside the door at 8am. Do not stay here, they could care less about you. They will screw you if they can, and they do. Walk across the street and have a great time.

Admittedly, I am partial to the polish and excellent service we get when stay at gay male resorts in Palm Springs. We have given two places in Ft. Lauderdale a try and neither have measured up. Elysium was the most recent to fail expectations. The property is dated, they were frequently out of (dirty) towels at the pool. Our room was never serviced quite right as something was always left dirty or missing and on one day the room wasn't even cleaned until after 5pm. The wireless internet was terrible. Finally, the breakfast also leaved a lot to be desired, although the restaurant next door worked quite nicely. We enjoyed the company and location near the beach, but could not recommend staying here to others.

Forget about this place.  The news ownership doesn't care any more.  This doesn't work, that doesn't work.

Our next door neighbor got very pissed and left the next day.  We've also heard quite a few complaints from other guests.  It's not the same Elysium we stay a few years ago.  We wonder why the reviews show 3.5 stars.  If we stay for free, it can be 2 stars.

My friends paid about the same price or cheaper for much better services.  We won't come back for sure.  Good luck, loyal customers!

I've stayed here three or four times, every few years, and I'm consistently happy here.  The staff is fun, friendly and efficient. The grounds are truly an oasis.  Two blocks from the beach.  Well maintained.  Two pools.  A big jacuzzi. A small gym.  Always nice guests with the reliable hot boy or two... Or more.  Saturday cocktail hour.  Free breakfast.  And a price that won't make you feel guilty for staying a week.  I'll keep coming back :)
