We booked this through RCI for two nights. We actually liked the place so much that we extended it with one more day. For that day, we paid $159.

It's about 50 yards from the ocean, close to a lot of things of interest.
We got a remodeled one bedroom suite on the top (18th) floor with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The remodeled units are very nice. Full kitchen with everything you would ever need. In fact, it had more stuff than  our kitchen at home. It even had large soup bowls, as opposed the other resorts where they only have small cereal bowls.
The rooms are spacious, everything is new. The living room had a sleeper sofa as well as a fold-out (Murphy) bed that could easily sleep 2, so the unit can easily accommodate 6 people, although the one bathroom would probably be a bit crowded if 6 people actually used it. But for two of us, it was more than spacious. We had more than enough towels. Mind you, they only change your towels once a week for free. You can pay an additional charge for extra towel changes. We travel with our shampoo and shower gel, so we don't  bitch about the provided toiletry.  The place has a pool, a jacuzzi with a sundeck, a gym with actually more than  just a treadmill.
Our only problem was that they don't offer wifi in the rooms. They do however have wifi in the lobby and they have a computer that you can use free of charge in the lobby. You couldn't even get a paid wifi service in the rooms. So, we just used my PDA as a modem.
The front desk people were all very nice.
We had a great time. We stayed at much nicer resorts before, but we had no complaints about this one at all.
You can check out their website where you can see photos of the place and the rooms.

Well, its our time share.  We could've been in a more cleaner & quieter place...it was busy, only one elevator, unclean, smelly & loud place.

Got a 1-br w/ pull-down bed + sofa bed, so can sleep 6 and has 1.5 bathrooms. Full kitchen w/ utensils, pots & pans, blender, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, & fridge. Wi-fi is available in all rooms, and unlike the previous reviewer's claim, there are 2 elevators side by side. My room was on 11th floor w/ a majestic view of the Atlantic, which was 1/2 block away! Grocery across the street & 1 mile from The Galleria mall. Overall, a great condo in a  great location. A concern was a sign about a $2 charge for safe deposit boxes which is supposed to be in all rooms, but the receptionist said it didn't apply to us.

We booked this place through VRI, our timeshare, not as nice as the one we stayed at in Las Vegas, but its still a very nice place and located just steps from the beach.

We liked our week here. But had to give only 3 stars since our rental car was broken into on night 2. Other reviews are accurate. Small pool, small gym. But it is not the priciest place on the beach either. Clean and efficient. WiFi us not so hot. But it's located near the beach and some lively bars. We enjoyed overall.

Booked this place via out timeshare an what a disappointment.

I'll start with the good. Clean room and walking distance to the beach.

As for the hotel itself it's just not at all impressive. The bar is only beer and wine! The pool is small. My neighborhood pool is bigger. Gym is nothing to brag about, old cheap equipment. But the pool and bar was just bad. My wife and I went to the pool and laughed.

But what really got us upset was we called at 10pm to order more bath towels and they said we have to wait till tomorrow. The housekeeping is gone. Soooo we can't get towels?? I've NEVER stayed at a place, asked for towels and been turned down. That's just bad hotel customer service!

We stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort recently and had a very good stay.  We rented a two bedroom condo for my family of five which included a kitchenette, which is actually a one bedroom with an adjoining studio.  This is a setup I highly recommend because it allows you to buy food and have a few meals at the hotel, thus saving both money and time and allows you to avoid eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I found our condo clean, spacious and in very good condition.  One room had a queen bed the other had a king and the living room has a pull down queen bed.  All of which were very comfortable.

We booked an ocean view room, which was true in a loose way as if you craned your neck from the living room window, it was possible to see the ocean.

As others have written, the location is good, just two blocks from the beach and one block from Birch State Park.  Be forewarned, the blocks between the condo and the ocean are a little shabby looking.  However just on the other side is the Galleria (containing both a Macys and a Neiman Marcus) and a canal filled with multimillion dollar yachts.

Some have complained about the elevator situation.  It is true that there are only two and they are small, so sometimes it was necessary to wait while full elevators passed us by.  At in all it was only a minor inconvenience.  Also the heated pool is a little small, but it was adequate.  We went during spring break so the hotel was full and parking was a little hard at times.

All in all, the Beach Resort is a good place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale and a good value for your lodging dollar.
