    Fancy pantsy hotel on the river. Lots of the guests had personal assistants carrying their bags in from the limos. I didn't stay at the hotel. I only ate at the Vue On The Water restaurant for breakfast while waiting for the Water Taxi that boards at the hotels sea wall. The food was WAY overpriced, the atmosphere was stuffy and the wait staff was snobby. I guess your are not supposed to eat here unless you stay here or look very very wealthy. Two danishes and two coffees cost almost $15 and we felt like they really wanted us to go away and eat outside with the help.

    I stay at this hotel whenever I am visiting family in Ft. Lauderdale.  The rooms are very comfortable with a full kitchenette.  The breakfast buffet is great.  Parking and food are expensive.  It's not walking distance to the beach so I wouldn't stay here if I didn't rent a car.  There is a Water Taxi stop at the hotel.  The only bad thing about this hotel is something they can't control which is the noise from the [draw] bridge.

    I was so glad I picked this hotel for my vacation.  I stayed three nights and found the experience to be everything I wanted and more.  I arrived to the hotel at 8:30am after a very hectic flight.  The guest service staff were great and had a room for me within a couple hours.  The room was beautiful, panoramic view of the intercoastal waters and I could see the ocean from the 9th floor.  The room was clean and comfortable.  I liked the set up and it made me feel like I had my own little condo for a few days.  The bartenders and servers were great out by the pool and in the cafe. The valet guys helped me get car service and I never had to wait for anything.  I had a late night sweet craving and the desk attendant had someone bring two cookies up to my room.  That was above and beyond typicaly service and something I won't forget.  Thank you to the staff at Gallery One for making my vacation so enjoyable!

    Nice hotel, though I think it's more of an extended-stay hotel than most Doubletrees, and slightly scruffy in places (carpet should be cleaned, one elevator was out of service, porters did not offer help with bags).

    I paid $133 including taxes via Priceline (not bad for January) and was happy with that.  If I'd paid the Hilton.com best rate of $233, the rating would have been considerably lower.

    The room was nice, with a small kitchen as well as sitting room separate from the bedroom.  Bathroom had a shower only, no tub.  Everything was compact, but more than adequate.

    Free internet and printing in the business center.  Walking distance to the Galleria Shopping Center, where there are several restaurants and a decent food court.

    This hotel is within walking distance to the beach and has a fabulous view of the inner coastal waterway.  We didn't feel like dealing with the sand so we decided to stay in the pool the entire weekend.  They have a bar that makes tasty tropical drinks.  The cocktails were a little pricey and our bartender was a little cheap with the alcohol.  We had a one bedroom suite and the accommodations were average.  I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing weekend getaway, to soak up some Florida sunshine, and to check out the yachts in the inner coastal.  Next time I visit, I won't be lazy and I'll check out the beach!

    Probably one of the finest hotels (near the beach)  for the price in Fort Lauderdale We moved from the here to the hilton pier IT WAS A BIG MISTAKE! This hotel is top notch very updated if not new and very roomy feels like a 300 dollar a night hotel very nice I enjoyed my stay. As my mom did!

    First off, I stay in LOTS of hotels worldwide and the staff here has got to be the friendliest I've encountered.  They are polite and nice without it feeling "forced" or scripted.  
    The hotel itself is all suite, like a Residence Inn, however, it is somewhat older and dated even with the recent room renovations.  It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but right on the intercoastal.  
    My only real complaints are:  $23 valet parking when there are PLENTY of parking spaces available right next to the hotel and, there is quite a bit of street traffic noise at all hours due to the drawbridge next to the hotel.

    Awesome view. Nice bar. Also one of the water taxi stops. The bartender made our bloody marys with exactly what we wanted. Went to the kitchen to get wasabi for our drinks.

    Ended up hanging out there all afternoon. Drinks were just a little pricey but good.

    We really enjoyed our one night stay prior to our cruise last week. I would highly recommend the hotel for the modern decor, cleanliness Our suite with king-sized bed featured a kitchenette, dining table, very modern bathroom with great glassed-in shower stall and a balcony overlooking the intracoastal waterway and the ocean, with a view of the city in the distance.
    The beds were as comfortable as promised, towels and complimentary robes were very plush.
    A very convenient feature is the water taxi stop right out back. It's only a 6 block walk to the ocean also.
    Only complaint was the price of the breakfast buffet which was really steep at $17.00. If I stay there again, I would go to the cafe across the street near CVS instead.

    Now my boyfriend and i debated on what exactly to rate this hotel. He says its a 5 and i say its a 3. so in order to accommodate the both of us, i say its a 4. The only reason i was turned off by the hotel was due to the furniture. the dining tables and the headboard in the room were peeling off. It was peeling so much in the same location that i really thought it was a design until i looked closely.. Other than that, i loved my stay there. The staff was beyond courteous, the atmosphere was quiet and they served us freshly baked cookies once we checked in! thats great. i think i will return

    Nice hotel that has gone through a fairly recent remodel. Suites are of a good size. Small kitchenette is nice with granite counter top and a 2 burner stove.  The one drawback for those who travel a lot and like to cook meals in our rooms is that there is no freezer. Decent size refrigerator, not no freezer.  Balconies are a nice touch. On the causeway side thy are large enough to sit and relax on.  On the street side much larger.  just a few other things that bugged me.  1)  They used flat paint in the kitchen.  That's just a pet peeve, because it's hard to clean.  2) The ceilings in the hallways are painted very poorly.  Looks almost like a little kid slapped the paint on it.  Also there is paint peeling in the bathroom.  Weird, considering the room was recently updated.  Finally, the wifi is extremely slow and disappointing because of the slowness.  Just a few nit picky things.  Otherwise, the room and hotel was great!

    If I could give 3 1/2 stars I would.  This is definitely a nice hotel but it didn't quite have the "wow" factor I read in other reviews. On top of that, there were some noticeable issues with the room.  All that being said, I'd still definitely consider coming back.  It was an enjoyable experience.  

    PROS:
    - Large rooms
    - Comfortable beds
    - Kitchenettes
    - Room service available
    - EXCELLENT water pressure in the showers
    - Convenient location (3 blocks away from beach, 1 block away from shopping mall, 3 blocks away from borders books, 1 block away from starbucks).
    - GREAT breakfast buffet (yes it's pricey but it's all-you-can-eat and includes tea, coffee, lattes, juice, etc).
    - Easy access to water taxi

    NEUTRAL:
    - A bit pricey (~190 / night depending on what you're looking for and what deal you have).
    - After hours front-desk staff weren't really helpful.  Their answer for most things were "come back in the morning and check with us then".
    - Self-parking option available (still have to pay for it though).

    CONS:
    - Loud road noise from nearby bridge/road.
    - While we were there, the elevators, tvs, and phones stopped working at the same time.  Kind of annoying but I understand that these things happen.
    - "late checkout" option is not guaranteed.  The site doesn't necessarily make this clear.
    - Our room had some noticeable defects (stain on curtain, cracked paint near window, TV flickered on high-definition tv).
    - They forgot the robe, extra pillows, and other complimentary items I requested in advance.

    TIPS:
    - If you're going to be staying for awhile, get the packaged deals.  My wife and I got the romance package which included a free room upgrade, free bottle of champagne, "late checkout" (see above), and free buffett breakfast passes each morning.

    I was recently here for a friends wedding. Over all, the place is a nice hotel. It has a great view of the inner coastal, the beds are nice and soft...
    There were a few things though that stuck out.

    There were no robes:This is essential in a bridal suite where hair & make up are to be done. When we finally got them, they had no belts, so our bride had to take a belt out of her LUGGAGE to keep the robe shut.

    The Ice Machine was broken: I had to go down to the 1st floor to the cafe and get ice. We eventually, just brought a cooler in and bought some at a gas station.

    The Fridge was Broken: When you have a bridal party of 7, we need refrigeration. Wine, Champagne, berries, fruits, snacks, water, etc. ALL needed. We finally got a guy up to fix it, but c'mon, this should have been taken care of before we checked in.

    The House Keepers were very nice though, and the Bell Hops were very helpful. So thank you for that.

    Just returned from a stay with a family of five (one in a wheelchair) for five days(June 10th-15th).  Hotel room was a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms and a kitchenette.  Ryann Love, the owner relations manager was very nice and professional upon check-in. He ended up giving us the wrong room with occupants still in it (DOH!!), he fixed this by giving us free wi-fi ($10 a day sooo not worth!! it but hey it was free!!) and 5 breakfast tickets for a day at their breakfast buffet (I've had better).  During our stay Weds-Mon. we experienced some very professional (Idris the bell hop) and helpful staff members as well as some very lazy and unprofessional ones.  As the shifts changed you never knew if you were gonna get a professinal staff member or a lazy as hell one! This includes everyone from the front desk, valet staff,  to the housekeeping and the starbucks staff.  The weekend was the worse and even had my keycard stop working to my room on Sunday.  Huh? we don't check out until Monday?  Although all of my inquires were answered quickly, these type of things shouldn't have been happening. The last day of my stay someone elses check-out receipt was placed under my door, COME ONE DOUBLE TREE!!!  These mistakes were careless ones! I enjoyed their pool and hottub and especially the short walk to the beach and the mall.  The water taxi was also a great time. Our tour guide Dana knew all about the million dollar homes along the waterway. Our view from our room was good but didnt like all the random smokers on their balcony.  Needless to say I didnt spend much time out there. Although rain on Saturday and Sunday messed our plans up a bit (A very wet walk on Las Olas Blvd), I enjoyed my stay but probably will go with another hotel upon my next visit to Ft. Lauderdale.

    My girlfriend and I stayed here a for 2 days after a week long cruise and wanted a few days more to relax before we headed back to the cold north east. The only thing that was nice about this hotel was leaving. The first thing we noticed was the sticky carpet....not nice but not something to cry over, we can just wear our shoes. Then we started to notice just how horrendous this room was. The furniture was peeling and falling apart and there was dust/dirt everywhere. The shower over flowed as soon as you turned it on and the closet handle fell off as soon as I touched it. I thought Ashton kutcher was going to jump out of the bathroom and totally punk us. Fortunately/Unfortunately we used Hotwire to get the hotel so we were told we didn't have any recourse to get any money back. However, regardless of how we acquired the room we are still staying at their hotel and were completely appalled and disgusted by the conditions. You would think they would want to protect the Hilton brand name by trying to make things right. They did not. They did, however, offer us a bottle of wine but we were leaving very early the next day and really didn't want it. We asked if they could provide us a ride to the airport instead since that was something we could actually use. We then requested to talk to the hotel manager after the front desk supervisor(who was very nice) stated there was nothing she could do. At this point all we wanted to do was to talk to the hotel manager about the issue. We left our phone number and met some friends who lived in the area. We never received a call from the manager and had to call back asking about the status of our request. We got no response from him and were offered some breakfast coupons instead even though we told them we were leaving the next morning at 4am....before the breakfast buffet even opened.

    I really have never been disgusted by a hotel room like this before, and I've stayed in some pretty cheap motels over the years.

    The photos should speak for themselves (assuming I can figure out how to post them) but: dirty carpet, ridiculously gross chairs, mold in the windows. We didn't bother unpacking and checked out immediately (as they had no other rooms).  The duty manager was nice and told us they're in the middle of a full renovation, and so all I'd say is: make sure you get a renovated room.  2 stars because the manager really felt badly

    Worn out furniture and dirty. Head board very dirty. A white wash cloth turned brown after cleaning it. The lamp shade was bent.... I went to front desk to complain and eventually got  another room.  It was explained to me that the hotel was going to get renovated.  What I got for a room is not what I saw online when I booked my reservation.  Very disappointing!! Also, I sent an email to Hilton but never heard back....

    Amazing!!!! Loved everything about the hotel!!
    I checked in around 11 am and got upgraded to a double queen suite as my suite wasnt ready..they give you these yummy choc chip cookies when you check in :)
    the room was fantastic, very spacious, full kitchen, huge bathroom and very plush and comfortable.The beds are the most comfortable beds i slept in my entire life- no joke lol
    The staff is super friendly, especially the front office manager Chris( adorable too lol),the belmen, the housekeeping etc.
    The hotel is like 10 mins walk from the beach, which was really not a big deal for me,and its right across the street from CVS, and Publix is there as well.
    All is one it was great and i will definetly come back.

    My boyfriend and I agreed after staying here this past weekend, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had.  We were in town for a wedding that took place at the hotel. Tons of our friends and family were here and filled many rooms at the hotel for the weekend. The customer service and attitude of the ladies at the front desk was horrible.  When we first arrived around 5pm on Friday we were unable to get a key even though our friend (who made the reservations)  mentioned we would be joining later (aka needing to get in the room).  I was attending a shower for the bride and had to get ready in another friends room because there was still no key. I left my boyfriend with our things and to deal with the situation. When he finally got a key and tried to get in the room still no luck. They said the security lock had caught and they would send an engineer to help. He waited for 30 minutes outside the door then went back downstairs to ask again. He sat at the bar for another hour and still no assistance. We finally got into our room and were able to drop off our things around midnight ( 7 hours after we had arrived ). No one at the front desk seemed to care. No one apologized to us for this huge inconvenience.  

    The next morning we called down to see if we could get an extra packet of coffee. No one ever came. This type of service was consistent the whole weekend. At breakfast it took 15 minutes to bring out our waters, etc, etc. Plus $25 a day for valet is pretty outrageous but there is no where else to park so your forced to pay it. The rooms were nothing to write home about. The only friendly people we came in contact with was a nice maintenance man who was there but off work that day and a maid on our hall. Besides the location and that my friends had an amazing wedding day, I have nothing good to say about this hotel. We would never stay here again.

    My journey through south Florida continues!  I stayed at the Gallery ONE Doubletree for two nights this week and was tempted to give it 4 stars, but had to go with three for the reasons below:

    The Check-in Process/Staff:  Fantastic.  Professional, friendly, and efficient - from the valet to the concierge to the check-in staff.

    The Room:  One word - WORN.  From the damaged door (it looks like it had been kicked in at some point in the past), to the marks on the wall, to the shabby table, it felt like the room was in desperate need of some renovation.  However, the bedroom was adequate, and the bathroom was extremely nice.  

    The Location:  Difficult to beat.  It is right on a channel, and about a 5 minute walk to the Ft. Lauderdale Beach (see my review).  There are a decent amount of restaurants in the area and there is a CVS pharmacy right across the street in case you forget any toiletries.

    Bottom Line:  For $200 a night, I would have hoped for a better main room area, but it was more than adequate.

    First impression was favorable. It is in a great location with shopping, restaurants, the beach  and even a water taxi very close by. The hotel lobby was clean and bright with many interesting art pieces. We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. Checked in promptly and give the customary chocolate chip cookie. Best I have ever tasted. We asked for a high floor and were give a suite on the fourteenth. We took the elevator up to the top floor and everything went downhill from there. The hallway was dark with stained carpeting. The suite while having a really great view on the ocean, intracoastal and the greater Fort Lauderdale area was shabby. The room with two queen beds was ok and had a lanai. However you took your life in your hands going out on the lanai due to a raised piece of metal flashing at the base of the sliders that was not clearly visible. One of out party who uses a cane was not able to navigate the area safely. Since the windows were rusted shut and could not open even the usual three or so inches the only fresh air came from the open sliders. The other bedroom with the king bed was really in poor condition. There was extensive water damage on the walls with pieces  of drywall missing or on the floor and ceiling stains. The bathroom, though large, had cracked and unlevel tile. The toilet was missing the plastic cap that goes over the screws for the seat and the rusty screws were clearly visible. There was also long black hairs hanging form the sconce. Presumably from the previous occupant. Ugh. The kitchenette was adequate for morning coffee and a quick meal. It also had a water damaged and stained drop ceiling though. The small refrigerator was so loud that we had the volume up on the TV to 30 most times. The air conditioning was adequate for Florida temps.We spent as little time in the room as possible. The mandatory $25.00 valet parking is really a rip off. They charge for wifi in the rooms. If you want free you have to be in the lobby. There is only one ice machine and ti is on the fourth floor. If we go back to Fort Lauderdale we will certainly stay somewhere else. The negatives for this hotel outweigh the positives.

    The views are nice on the bayside. The rooms themselves are beautiful, full of amenitites, flat screens in each room, nice seperate living room and kitchen.  I'll definitely stay here for any further long stay business trips.  It is also really close to restaurant row.  Only gripe I have is you have to pay for internet(not free even if preferred customer, boo) and you HAVE to have your car valeted.  I think it was about $25, so not THAT bad(compared to any major city), but come on, really?!  I think I could have easily parked it myself.  Didn't get a chance to check out the bar in the lobby, but didn't look too big or too small. Average. And sorry for this average review....

    Won this on Hotwire and couldn't be more pleased with the stay.  We arrived on a Friday about 3 pm for a one-night pre-cruise stay.  We had our room in minutes on the 7th floor and it was HUGE.  The bathroom was amazing and the showerhead was to die for.  Staff was super friendly when you would pass them in the hallway or in the lobby.

    Our only complaint is we asked for a taxi to the port and they tried to get us to take their "VIP Van" at $8/person (4 of us).  We asked (again) for a taxi and got one and it was about $25 w/tip.

    Very nice for the price and close to the beach and the Gallery Mall. You can walk to the Blue Martini where they have live music seven days a week. The hotel food is decent and the place is clean. The front desk staff is super helpful. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because they have mandatory valet parking and it costs $24/night. They have a giant parking lot, but it's closed to traffic so that you have to pay to park.

    Extra tip - ask for room 1101. It's huge and it costs the same price as the rest of them.

    Not a fan of the traffic getting to this place, but I guess that isn't there fault, though it is still part of my experience.

    I visited an amiga that was staying here over the weekend.  First impressions:
    Nice hotel, excellent location and pretty view from lobby and suite.
    Walking distance to the beach, nightlife, shopping and fantastic people watching.
    Rooms are spacious and modern looking with a generous balcony.  
    The pool and jacuzzi are beside the Intercoastal Waterway so you can watch the boats go by as you work on your tan.  
    A restaurant and bar/lounge is located on the first floor, and parking is valet only ($13, $24/day).  
    Yelp On fellow Lauderdaleans, and stay Beachy.

    This is where I am staying right this moment. The staff is courteous and friendly, the rooms are gorgeous and the view, even when not facing the water is stunning.

    What kills this place is the lack of free internet in the rooms. Even the cheapest, ugliest hotels I've had to stay in offer this service. If you want your room hooked up you will be paying 10$ per day PER DEVICE. That's crazy. Also, the cleaning staff are inconsistent. one day you'll come in and everything is spic and span and excellently cleaned and then the next trash wont be emptied and the couch bed won't be folded up or made.

    If I have my way, we will not be coming back.

    Not a 4 star place.  We had to switch rooms because our first room was a disaster.   It did not smell clean for starters.  As we checked out the room we found it to be dirty.  The light switches looked like the were never cleaned.  Every door had dirty hand marks on it, 2 pillows looked like the missed the washer.  The head board was torn up and looked like it was found on the side of the road. (The front desk said that all tbe head boards are like that) That being said the staff is really nice. They gave us a new room and apologized.  I would not not say this is a four star, I would say it matches a Holiday Inn.

    Staff members look like they hate life. The food is not very good and WAY over priced. This place is so loud! I barely slept, even after I called the front desk at 4am to complain about the noise, it did not stop. The place is dirty. Lipstick on not only the glasses in our room but the restaurant as well. They charge for wifi! Who charges for wifi now a days?? Ugh, I hate this place

    The hotel is attractive and the front desk staff is friendly. Aside from that there was nothing else that impressed me. Just another hotel that thinks they are fancier than they actually are and takes advantage of tourists at every bend. $25 a day MANDATORY valet parking that takes forever to retrieve your vehicle in the morning. $10 per day wifi access in the rooms and $21 breakfast is absolutely ridiculous. My sheets and pillows smelled like mildew and the headboard of the bed looked like a dog had chewed half the padding off. There is also a draw bridge right near the hotel that is very loud at night EVERY time a car drives over it. I would never stay here again or recommend this place to a friend.

    This is an all suites hotel so every room has a separate living area and kitchen area.  Location wise, it's centrally located and is located right on the waterway with amazing views.

    Those are the pros. The cons are this an older hotel that has been poorly renovated.  Our room had two mysterious leaks on either side of the bed and looked as if they were coming up from below the carpet. The sliding glass door stuck and had to be forced opened.  And it's valet parking only. But those are not deal breakers, it's still a good hotel. Just don't be fooled by the fancy pictures.

    Okay, this is going to be the most detailed review of this place that you will find anywhere. If you want to know the 411 you have found it!

    Pros: * Location is excellent- a ten minute walk to the beach/ right on the intercoastal waterway

    * Water taxi stops right outside the hotel- after a long day of riding the taxi it's nice to be able to come right inside and relax

    * You really get what you pay for here it is a "three and a half" star hotel so don't expect the ritz carlton but do expect great service and a clean, modern room

    * pool and spa are both great size and pool is heated when temp outside drops below a certain number of degrees

    * grocery store is ten minute walk- allowing you to purchase groceries for use in your kitchenette

    * all of hotel staff is friendly and they always great you and ask about your day

    * views are exceptional- the yachts on the intercoastal water way are beautiful

    * 5-10 decent places to eat within walking distance

    * bus stops nearby and can get you as far as the airport for almost nothing

    Cons: * rooms definatley need some repairs. As other people noted- leather items have been damaged by past guests and were never repaired. As a side note- the chairs in every room that were peeling were replaced on 5/3/2013

    * cracked tiles around pool area are not safe- I nearly sliced my foot open on one. When I adressed the front desk about this they said they would get right on it. 2 days later and nothing has been done. Not even a cone put up on the severely cracked portion.

    * The restaurant located inside has great service but terrible food.

    * room service is ridiculously overpriced

    * Valet drivers whip around in your car at $25 a day plus tip- management should absolutley keep a closer eye on the young guns driving these 100,000K cars like they own them $10 PER DAY PER DEVICE internet charge. The list goes on and on...

    I would absolutley stay here again because we saved a ton of money when staying here for a week using their kitchen to cook. The stretch of beach near the hotel has a quiet resort like feel to it and is never crowded. There is also no trash on this beach. I think however that it needs to be brought to the managers attention- and hilton's attention that there are many repairs to be made. With those repairs- this could easily be a four star hotel.

    Spacious suites that are a little dated (not a big deal for me).  Excellent front desk staff who are always eager to ensure guest satisfaction.  Convenient location on the intercoastal waterway and an easy walk to the beach.  What's not to like?  I will be back!

    Its spacious for the price, but its very average, it seems they think they sit on the ocean when they don't. There are barely any channels available, and many of them are not visible. Mandatory valet parking for 28 dollars is absolutely ludacris. Strange how many options they have for breakfast on room service but barely any options for lunch/dinner, on top of ridiculous fees they add.

    The hotel was clean, in a great location and the staff was SO friendly. Jackie in the restaurant was attentive over-the-top friendly and Chris at the front desk made sure our stay was the best it could be!! The location is about a 10 min walk to the beach and the pool is right on the waterway. The water taxi picks up at the hotel and there is everything you could need within walking distance. I stay in hotels at least 100+ nights a year and this one has everything. Highly recommend this hotel!

    Normally I painstakingly research a hotel before I book a night, but this time the cruise line booked it and I had no time to do research. Needless to say I was a little cautious and the start was a little rocky, but I do not panic and rage when stuff happens, I wait to see how it was handled and it was handled marvelously!

    Upon checking in I received two hot cookies and went to my suite on the 5th floor. I swiped my card, but could only open the door by an inch because the night latch was engaged. I went to the phone by the elevator and called the front desk who sent a helpful maintenance man to take care of it. He had the problem fixed within five minutes. It gave me enough time to devour my cookie. The cookie was delicious.

    Entering my suite I first noticed it was freezing. Then I noticed it looked lived in. The bed was messy, empty beverage bottles on the table, wet towels on the bathroom floor, empty shampoo containers, and a running toilet. Mind you, after my day I was just grateful to be there, but I figured I should inform the front desk and see if I couldn't get housekeeping to return.

    I went back downstairs and informed the front desk. The lady there was obviously mortified to hear what happened. I think she felt worse than I did! She called another lady over and both profusely apologized. I told them it was ok and they informed me that it certainly was not ok. They changed my room and gave me two vouchers for a free breakfast! They were very kind and sympathetic.

    I would go down and ask them various questions and they were always friendly and helpful. The valet gentlemen gave me tips on what was nearby and where the closest everything was. The view of the canal was amazing and gave me an opportunity to ship watch something I've never done.

    The suites are spacious. The bed very comfy. Nice little kitchenette. Incredible shower with the rain shower head that has great temperature control. It is a very comfortable room. All the furniture looked newer in my suite so I didn't see any of the damage other people talked about. The only negatives were the TV in the living room had pink lines on the display and randomly shut down. The couch was far from comfortable. The hallways need some work - new carpet and baseboard, but that's nitpicking and I didn't spend much time in the hallways.

    I would happily return.

    Stayed here for 3 nights and I loved the location since it was right down the street from the Beach :) Rooms were clean and I loved the view from my balcony. One thing I didn't like was the fact that the cookies weren't always fresh (lol). Like all 3 nights they tasted stale. I don't know about you, but I love DoubleTree for their bomb ass cookies and that was a total disappointment. Smh

    We enjoyed the Gallery ONE!  The only issue we had was that the maid left our room door latched open and didn't refill the room!  We were gone all day and got back that night and it was OPEN!!!!  I did talk to the front desk and they comped 2 nights parking for us (expensive).   I hate hotels that have Valet only, I don't feel like I should tip them if I am being forced to Valet...however I still do, so don't be calling me names just yet.  

    We had a three room (2 bedrooms, and a kitchen/tv room) suite.  Only 1 of the rooms had the balcony, but it sure was nice to sit out there in the morning and evening and have your cup of coffee or a glass of wine.  

    They had an art show going on while we were there, however due to the cost of the ticket to go into it, we didn't go.  We did however enjoy the pool and the hot tub.  We also watched a huge Iguana play around outside the hotel.  

    You can only get in and out of the hotel going one direction, so each time you go out you have to cross the bridge and turn around.

    No free WIFI either.  

    There are plenty of places within walking distance to check out, and we walked to the beach as well.

    I was just in for one night visiting a friend of a friend who apparently has an apartment there - swank!  Looks like a lovely place to drop a couple of Benji's should you be so inclined (and so besotted with wealth).  Peaceful atmosphere that probably has hidden nooks and crannies of both great night life and yummy restaurants.

    So you want to go to the ocean do ya?  Well you can't take a towel with you....and it begins....

    I arrived and after the mandatory valet parking fee of $28...all I wanted was to go swimming.   Naturally since I am traveling I don't bring my own beach towels so I asked the front desk for one...to which the fellow replied "Well, you can't take one from here"...puzzled, i told him he has my credit card for incidentals, and borrowing a towel was incidental, so grab me a towel and I'll be on my way.

    He told me again, no.  I advised him I was going to go to the pool and abscond with a towel, and I would return it directly to him; to which he entered beast mode and advised he would stop me.. well he could have if the pool had any clean towels.
    So I ambled four blocks to the beach; took a swim; and then drip-dried on the way back, making sure to stop and thank the front desk fellow for his hospitality.

    I did speak with the hotel GM who advised me he was sorry and wanted to make it up to me next time I never come back to the gallery one.  Room was nice too bad the stay was ruined.

    "Meh" is right.  We have visited the Gallery ONE every year and unfortunately each time the service and experience seem to get worse.  This year we reserved a room for the Winterfrest Boat Parade and they offered an upgrade to a 2 bedroom.  We agreed but asked them to CONFIRM it was with an unobstructed water view as we wished to watch from our balcony as we have a 2 year old and didn't want to chase after him downstairs near the water.

    Upon arrival we were told our room wasn't ready but there was one on the 3rd floor (that had a bunch of palm trees in front of it).  Equally upsetting was the manager was standing at the counter the entire time and never proffered any assistance and ONLY when I requested to speak with management did he finally acknowledge us.  Upsetting to say the least.

    Our room on the 8th floor had a "partial" water view obstructed by the building next door and you could only see the boats pass by briefly.  Thankfully a 2 year old really doesn't know the difference but paying $350+++ I certainly did!

    The rooms are a bit battered and need updating. There are no bottles of water for purchase in the rooms and ice only on the 4th floor.  I will be hard-pressed to go back and will be seeing a new spot next year!

    You know what they say "Location, Location, Location"...and that's about all this place has going for it...walking distance to restaurants, the mall and Blue Martini.  I suppose the complimentary cookies are supposed to make up for their short comings...

    The rooms:  decent size, the suites have a kitchenette, but I'd compare the rooms to an apartment that you rented in college.

    Food:  Thank goodness we had been drinking when we got room service. For what we paid it was disappointing to say the least.  Nice view of the water from the downstairs restaurant, but the service is slooooow.  We have stayed here multiple times and this has been the case every time.  Whether it's a soda or your meal order, be prepared to wait...whether they are busy or not.

    My family and friends had a great time staying at the gallery one DoubleTree this weekend for the wedding block. The service staff and quality of the room was superb. You will have returning customers in the future.
