Just came back from a well overdue retreat. I have stayed at several guesthouses in Ft lauderdale and in terms of accommodations the grounds are quite lush, include a very tropical landscape and have what I would consider an above "standard" continental breakfast. The staff was quite accommodating during my stay offering poolside pina cola ta sp. while I was there. and fresh towels upon request. The location is good, close to the beach without being noisy which I found a plus. I would stay in the future.

After reading the other reviews here I am guessing that the management has made some improvements.
I have stayed at four or five different guest houses in this area, and this is certainly one of the better ones. It is quaint and maintained very well. The greenery on the property is spectacular. There are orchids budding off of many of the trees!
In terms of service, the pool and hot tub are CLEAN (which is more than you can say about some of the other guest houses), there is a more than adequate "self serve" breakfast every morning, and one of the employees brings out complimentary frozen drinks to the patrons sitting by the pool in the afternoon. Another cool thing about this guest house is that they have bicycles, beach umbrellas, and beach chairs that you can take with you off the grounds.
There is a sister hotel down the street (Royal Palms) that we used for the spa and mini-gym on a few occasions. Nice perk.
The guests here in my opinion are a bit more laid back than at other guest houses. Everyone is chatty and engaging by the pool without being too loud, drunk, or otherwise obnoxious.
Overall, nice place!

Just stayed at this lovely hotel for 5 days with my partner. The hotel staff were super friendly and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They are also a fantastic source of information about what to do and where to go. The hotel itself was very well maintained: it has 2 medium size pools, a hot tub, a beautiful garden that is colorfully lit at night among other things. Our room was spacious and very clean. The hotel offers free parking, Wi-Fi, continental breakfast and snacks (eg, rasins, popcorn, etc.) throughout the day. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this oasis and can't wait to come back again soon!

Just finished a two night stay at this property with my husband. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating the entire stay. The grounds (ie, courtyard, pools and hot tub) are great. It definitely gives off a tropical oasis feel! We had only (2) downfalls to our stay and only one of them is really on the hotel. 1) after a post bar night of swimming and hot tub partaking we left our swim trunks input front private balcony to dry overnight, unfortunately someone at the property decided the needed my swim trunks worse than I did and stole them....2) we stayed in the red building also referred to as the north building and our room however very clean and neat was a bit outdated, with a small 24 inch tv in the bedroom and a small bathroom with no exhaust fan to dissipate the steam from the hot showers. If staying at this property I would definitely recommend the updated building and your stay will be great!

The manager Andrew is an unprofessional drama queen. This place is old and ran down. There were hundreds of dollars in authorized charges to my bank. I have placed fraud alert with my bank and credit reporting agencies. You have been warned.

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Lush Royale for two days over Memorial Day weekend. It started out a little rough. We booked a Royal Suite for a very reasonable rate of $164.00 per night for two nights. We were charged the deposit and received a confirmation email indicating our reservation for a Royal Suite. For special requests on the reservation, we indicated that a King bed would be appreciated, however a queen would be fine. Upon arriving at the hotel and being given a tour of the property and where breakfast is served; we were taken to the room. I was looking for the kitchen and balcony as listed on their website when I made the reservation a month earlier.
When I told Jaime I thought there was some mistake as this was not the room type we reserved, he indicated that all of the rooms were Suites. Although, this was clearly a King Standard. At this point, it was too late to make in room corrections, as they were fully booked for the holiday weekend. No price adjustments were made to our room rate, and he indicated the price I had paid was the correct room rate for this room type. I initially felt, taken advantage of. I was advised to contact the Manager in the morning, which I did. He was polite and accommodating, was able to move us to a poolside queen suite with a balcony, for the following night of our stay. As of yet, I have not checked my credit card statement to see if there was any room rate adjustment for the first night. Upon returning home, I checked the hotel website and the room we were changed to, for the following night, does have considerably higher rates. As a result, I do not feel as though we were taken advantage of. Additionally, both rooms were very nice, the first room was just not what we were expecting. Overall the staff and management made our stay very pleasurable.
Aside from the above, here is why enjoyed our "near perfect" stay at the hotel.
Clothing optional (there was a good mix)
The grounds were impeccably manicured and lush, we lost ourselves feeling more that we were in Costa Rica rather than Fort Lauderdale. On a side-note, in addition to the standard Florida lizards that we are used to seeing, there was a variety of small what appeared to be iguanas. possible previous pets, now escaped and thriving on their tropical grounds. It was kind of cool. They were very small and harmless and they stay to themselves, not to scare anyone.
The rooms were very clean and even our original room was more than adequate.
The continental breakfast was very good. It is not a full breakfast, however nor is it advertised to be one.
They have umbrellas and towels for the beach, although we just stayed by their pools and the hot tub. All were very clean.
They own several other area hotels and you are allowed to use the facilities at their other properties.
Overall, it was incredibly relaxing and this was our expectation for our short and close to home vacation. Our expectations were met.
Most likely, we will stay there again with the hope of upgrading our review to 5 stars. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Spent a night and a couple afternoons here and really liked it. I had Room #26 in the front 'pink' stucco building at the top of the white spiral staircase,
and it was spacious and had a nice view of the pool and deck areas on three sides. The office guys were all smiles and professional. People visiting were very friendly and the place was like a tropical oasis and was in walking distance (less than a mile) to the beach - and less to restaurants. I'd definitely come back to this place.

There were things to like about this place - rooms are good size, property has a nice feel, and self-service breakfast was handled well - but ultimately, a few big knocks that take it off my list for the future.
As charming as the pool area is with all the greenery, the landscaping also makes it very hard to sunbathe successfully by the pool. This was a big issue for us as we come to Florida to sit by the pool in the sun. Even in some of the other areas, the garden creates too much shade. The pool area can get busy quickly as it's quite small. Just a few more amorous guests (which we had the first half of our stay) can make it less inviting to enjoy.
The beds were like concrete - I don't mind firm but we woke up creaking every morning from these.
The housekeeping was maddening. The rooms were clean and bright in arrival, with lots of towels. However, getting the staff to freshen the room daily was a challenge. We would leave in the AM, put the sign on the door, and - well, hope. We'd get back at 3-4 pm and only once was the room cleaned by then. One time they left us fresh towels but didn't bother to clean the bathroom or change/take all the dirty towels. Another time they were just getting to clean our room at 4:30. We never figured out how to get this working - never a problem at other places we've stayed.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here. It was a pretty good experience, only a few complaints.
It is located only a few blocks from the beach and not too far of a walk from the gay beach. There are a few other gay resorts nearby.
This was my first time staying at a gay men's resort. It was clothing optional. The jungle theme made it feel very seclusive and private. However, I was a little disappointed that the clientele was older (50+). It did seem like most guys were cruising, but that might not be the norm. Some creepy interactions occurred while my boyfriend and I were swimming. Definitely not a romantic getaway location.
A lot of options for their breakfast. The coffee was better than I anticipated. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Appreciated that we could check in late in the night because our flight into Fort Lauderdale was at midnight.
