View the daily boat parade from a private balcony or from the expansive waterfront terrace. Check out our real time streaming video of the Intracoastal Waterway on our web cam.  Enjoy the tranquility of the tropical courtyard and pool. The loggia with its covered terrace connecting the courtyard with the waterfront is the perfect retreat from the mid-day sun and a favorite gathering place for guests to exchange their daily adventures or relax with a glass of wine after a busy day shopping or hot day at the beach.

Having an Antiques Gallery for 20 years on the famous Las Olas Boulevard allowed the current owners to collect a variety of unusual furnishings and antiques and intersperse them with quality newer furnishings. You will find original art work in all apartments.  The eclectic mix is a constant source of wonder and amusement to those fortunate enough to discover this oasis off the beaten track.

The focus is now turned to providing a level of service and comfort in these luxurious apartments that is unsurpassed in an environment that is unequaled. Staying at Manhattan Tower is one of the most unique experiences Fort Lauderdale Beach has to offer.

Established in 1952.

A mid century modern architectural masterpiece is ideally situated on the east bank of the Intracoastal Waterway just steps from the Fort Lauderdale Beach. Manhattan Tower is a tropical Mid-Century Modern Apartment Hotel designed and built in 1952 by the innovative architect, Charles McKirahan for General Motors executives as a corporate retreat. The signature Frigidaire logo was created with iron tubing which soars 50 feet into the air and provides the supporting structure for the circular staircase standing as an exclamation point greeting guests and visitors.  This dramatic statement along with the walls of glass in all the apartments and the stepped out rectilinear building perimeter contribute to make this an important example of this unique period in creative architecture.

Overall, we enjoyed our time at Manhattan Tower. The room was clean, it was within proximity of the beach and FREE parking. I believe it's a mixed residence, travelers and residents, which contribute the real sense of community within. The back deck area is great for sipping your morning coffee and watching boats pass off the Intercoastal Highway.

The walk to the beach is a tad more than what's represented, which didn't bother me, however, was a little bit much for my 4yr olds. Cabs are all over the place, so for a couple bucks they can take you to and from the main beaches, restaurants and tourist shops.

I'd definitely bucket this stay as more of an experience, as it's such a unique set-up, you're bound to be brought back to a time warp, surrounded by classic, antique 50s-70s decor. Honestly, the room's layout and features feel as if they haven't changed either. I love the integrity, but some minor maintenance is needed due to normal wear and tear. Fortunately, this was being addressed, as we met a brand-spanking new employee who appeared to be brought on just for that.

Would definitely stay again, as well as recommend to others.
