Ocean Sky served our group fairly for the purpose of a clean bed, beach location, and within walking distance to enough restaurants and bars. Views (can be) incredible from the decks, beach access is excellent, beach chairs available for $5 a day. Room service was fair - a pretty good menu for a cheap hotel and surprisingly good food. The tiki bar is a joke - ridiculous prices for itty bitty drinks. Go next door (can't recall the hotel's name) to their beach bar - full staff, great seating, good dj and more reasonable prices (Thursdays are 50% off!) Concierge Ed was great - recommended Keese's for food and an efficient bus route to see a movie on a rainy afternoon. $10 shuttle available to and from the airport that is on-time and efficient. Housekeeping was lacking a little - never enough towels, late service, not thorough cleaning between nights - but the sheets were clean and bathroom was freshened every day. We went for spring break but were surrounded by old people - not necessarily a bad thing, but if you're looking for a drunk, young, rowdy crowd, look elsewhere. Overall, Ocean Sky was an acceptable hotel to crash after long days on the beach in the sun and close enough to walk to the fishing pier and numerous restaurants and bars.

The majority of the front desk staff were pretty nice, paint is peeling of the walls in the hallway and the carpet in the hallways were really dirty and smelled rotten. The room was ok for the price around $60 a night but at least it was CLEAN. the air worked perfect and you have a balcony that if you look to the east you have a partial view of the ocean. but you have to make sure to LOCK YOUR BALCONY DOOR! there is no privacy on the balcony you can walk right into the room next door. the bed linens were clean and the t.v clear. But heads up the cleaning crew comes through at 930 am so you have to remember to put up the do not disturb sign. The food in the resturant was a lot better then you would have thought and access to the beach was great. you pay $5 a day for valet even if you don't have a car but you can park the car yourself and keep your keys as long as they put a tag in your car, but be careful mostly compact spaces

Clean, reasonably priced and directly on the beach.  Rooms were outdated and the hallways were worn out.  Bed was comfortable.  Hotel staff not so friendly but not rude either. Happy hour at the tiki bar was fun. Location was great, very walkable to local grocery store, restaurants, salons, liquor stores and the Lauderdale by the Sea area, which has great restaurants. Would I stay here again? Maybe.

Beggars can't be choosers, and when I had to make a last-minute trip to Fort Lauderdale I took a hotel because it was available.

Oh, and I hadn't considered that it was also the beginning of the Spring Break season.  Which, by the way, am I just getting older, or is every college girl about 20 pounds heavier than when I was that age?  Or is it just now there is some rite of passage that says she should expose her thighs & belly, no matter what they look like or regardless of the circumstance?

But I digress.  Sometimes luck shines down upon the defenseless.  Ocean Sky wasn't the greatest hotel, not by a long shot.  But it was clean, it was on the beach (always a bonus) and the hotel restaurant at least provided decent food, even if the wait staff was inexplicably tardy when it came time to pay the bill.  The wireless worked without a hitch and wasn't painfully slow.  Throw in a pool and the requisite hotel tiki bar and you at least have something palatable.

They do make you valet park your car (no self-parking), which always sticks in my craw a bit because I want to be able to get in my car and go whenever I please.  SIDEBAR: Who came up with valet parking, anyway?  Why in the world would you feel superior because someone is parking and retrieving your car?  If you've really got money and want to show it while you blow it, hire a chauffeur.  Anything less than that and you're just a poser.  No wonder I can't stand L.A. and many of its denizens.  Valet parking is yet one more silly ritual so Angelinos can show how rich and sophisticated they are to each other.

Ok...end of sidebar.  The best memory I'll have of this place is the drunk boy who showed up as I was checking out (at 6am), and he was looking for a room.  He had obviously come to Lauderdale without lodging, and was going to every hotel on the beach looking for a place to stay.  The crestfallen look on his face when the desk clerk told him there were no rooms (as he heard at the first 25 hotels he stopped at) was priceless.

Wow, this place is so misleading. You look at their website and you think what a great place. You show up and the lobby does look good. Then you go up to your room and are slapped in the face to see a roach motel. The doors to the room are run down. You enter the room and find dirty comforters and dirty carpets. The balconies are separated by a plank of wood so that everyone can have an ocean view. Some staff was really rude possibly from dealing with all the unhappy customers. Also was promised a king size bed and got two doubles.

Restaurant review only: BLAH! I agree with the others about the servers. Friendly but sooooo slow with tending to you. There was nobody there and we were surrounded by dirty un-bussed tables. The waitresses would come out and look lost trying to remember what they were doing then grab a couple dishes from one of the dirty tables leaving the big server's tray behind. They never completed one table. Super inefficient. (can you yell I used to be a server?)
I never got a coffee refill.
Breakfast food was BAD! The potatoes were of the pale under-fried variety. On all the unbussed tables were plates full of uneaten food but especially the potatoes went untouched. The eggs and sausage were ok. OJ tasted part fresh squeezed and part dish water. Blah!
On top of ALL that, it was pricey for crappy food. Total bill was $35 for 2 people. Do NOT eat breakfast here. You're better off at dunkin donuts down the block.

The sad thing about this place is that the website looks like it the hotel was flown in from the cayman islands...

Ooo woe is the sucker who is lured by the flashy html...

upon arrival, this fee and that fee was strapped on to our bill including a 1 dollar safe fee that we didnt even use because the safe was broken.

the cherry on top was the cockroaches down by the pool bathroom. YES!!!!

Lobby beach and pool where very nice food from hotel restaurant was actually really good, we tried the pizza, Greek salad, grilled cheese, French toast, hamburger, and fruit platter was all delicious, my room was clean, but dated, bathrooms were small, balcony was nice you could see the ocean. Best part of the hotel was the food by far second was the pool and beach the rest was average room was cheap which was awesome and food prices where average for ft lauderdale maybe I got lucky but I liked the place I would definitely go again

SURPRISE 100 buck charge once you arrive which your piece of shit travel agents NEVER disclose.  100 extra bucks hurts because most of us save and budget a vacation down to the last penny.  I hated that most of the front desk had heavy accents, this is a HUGE pet peeve of mines, I cannot accept someone who doesn't understand what I am saying because their English is shot, of course the lady got an attitude because after the 3rd Excuse me can you repeat that? I asked for someone else.  Rooms are small, pack and play is old and ran over.  Eatery downstairs is SO over priced with lack luster food, housekeeping is not friendly.  Got two stars because pool is heated, and place is right on the beach for a reasonable price.  Ocean view room is non-existent, meaning its NOT there, they have no ocean view room.  Valet was nice, shower pressure in room a bust and they could use a few new shower heads on them as well.

Four stars for the pool area. No stars for service! Rooms are decent but musty and bare bones. Bathrooms are tiny. If you don't plan to spend any time in your room this could be OK.

Overall, we had a good stay; only because the beach is steps away and the pool is average.  The room was clean, but if you're a gal like me with long hair, you can understand my concern about having noooo water pressure. Yes ladies, it was the worse I had ever experienced. That really put a damper on things for me. I would only stay at this hotel again if we had a price like we did from hotel tonight. $12.00 for parking whether it is valet or self park. $20 for beach chairs, but don't worry, the chairs by the pool are free. Surprisingly, because it seems as though they charge extra for everything there. I was afraid I would have an extra charge on the bill for sleeping. Do not go to the tiki bar/lounge, you will be paying for the view which goes at the rate of $24 for 2 tiny drinks. And they weren't even good.

    Can I give a negative 5?

I will argue with any of the other posters here. This place is far from clean.

The pictures on the website don't look anything at all like the lobby or room that we received upon arrival. Our room was so bad and smelled so bad that we went back to the front desk immediately and complained. They gave us another room which was exactly like the previous one. Damp and smelling of mildew. The hallway had a mildew smell which was covered up by some ungodly apricot smell. I would bet my last dollar that there are bedbugs in this hotel.

Another point, how do you have a parking lot and then charge every patron of the hotel $10.00 fee to park? When I inquired about this the woman at the front desk replied, well, they do that in Miami.

That brings me to the staff. I'm not sure if they are just so underpayed and disgruntled or if they have lost their zest for life all together. They were not even remotely friendly upon our arrival. They were also far from sympathetic to our complaints. I asked to speak to the manager on duty, they looked at me as if I spoke another language. There is no manager on duty. I cannot believe they left the inmates to run the asylum.

I travel for a living and this hotel is something that one would most likely find, frat boys drinking themselves stupid in, people on Crack cocaine binges, and prostitutes. I'm not joking. This is the worst hotel I have ever step foot in and I have been to some third world countries that have had some pretty shotty hotels.

Don't do it. This place is a dump!

My friends and I were in town for Springbreak from California, and got this hotel by bidding on hotwire. I had really low expectations because from the pictures of the hotel it looks run down. However, the rooms are definitely nothing to ride home about. They are small, and outdated, but clean. What is nice, is the lobby is completely remodeled and it is really gorgeous. There is a concierge, arcade, business center, restaurant, and store in the lobby. The pool is unreal. It has a tiki bar, and a pool that overlooks the ocean with tons of lounge chairs to choose from. We could see the ocean from our patio in our room. They also have free valet which was great.
    Some gripes:
It is a $15 cab ride from the main downtown area of Ft.Lauderdale Main Board Walk, so that kind of sucked.
There is an additional $20 dollar resort fee charged to your card per day.
    Checkout and checkin took FOREVER.
For young people looking to SPringbreak this is a nice hotel that is affordable.

I agree with some reviewers that, if you are low maintenance, this place will probably play just fine for you.  However, I think that when most people save their hard earned money and go on vacation they expect something at least slightly better than what they have at home, or at a motel 8.

Be prepared for a mandatory, $10/day parking fee. I'm not going to say it's not convenient, but if I was given the option I wouldn't have taken it.

The comforters in the rooms look like vinyl from the early 90's, we couldn't help but think how many people had used them and wonder when the last time they were washed was.  We immediately took them off and shoved them in the closet space for the remainder of the trip.

The maid service was awful. I tipped them to try and encourage a better job, but to no avail.  Our towels weren't replaced AT ALL. We had to call the desk, and once literally go down to the lobby and demand, towels whenever we needed to shower. What a hassle. The housekeepers were unpleasant and looked like the hated their lives, not a single hello or smile the entire trip.

The balconies are connected and so it's important to lock your balcony door or your neighbor could quite easily mosey in while you are out.

Also, you're not allowed to have any of your own alcohol on the deck, you have to buy it all from them.

The front desk was rude and impersonable, some hardly spoke English making it difficult to communicate and ask questions. At points our questions went unanswered.

The free internet was spotty all week, it was a guessing game as to when I would come to my laptop and be able to get online. It's not a secure network either, so be careful.

Bright spots: Rizzo, bartender at the Tiki bar was the only personable staff member we came across.  Deck area with lounges is nice which is why most of their pictures are of that area.

We had this hotel as a result of a Hotwire deal, if you have your choice I would stay far, far away.

This is a bipolar hotel. Seems it was designed well, then handed off to some incompetent fools for operation. The staff seems to really really try, but never make the connection with the guests.

Oh, where do I began? Okay, day one: Check-in: I am told that my reservation does not exist. WHAT? Is that what I want to hear when I am there with my family? Finally, she finds my reservation and just announces that "the computer is slow... see?". My response is "WHO CARES". have some concern for the customer.
Restaurant: Seems like the lunch and dinner chef is okay (nothing great, just okay) But the breakfast... we ordered eggs (of different types) and you know what it tastes like... Have you ever tasted cardboard?

Room: More like a motel room then a hotel. The bed was horrible. The bed sheets looked like it was bought from a sale at a Motel6. The clock did not work (HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW THIS)? Don't they have housekeeping reporting? The hair dryer was actually CRACKED and obviously dangerous.

Service: There is a HUGE disconnect between the hotel, restaurant, housekeeping, and the gift shop. Just getting cream for coffee became a HUGE ordeal. The restaurant actually refused to give us some, stating that "we are not connected with the hotel"
On the bright side, the location is great. The pool is good, and right on the patio facing the ocean.

The only good part of the service was the valet who parked my car! Maybe he should run the hotel.

Terrible, terrible Hotel. Please have a great time in Fort Lauderdale and  stay away from this place.
It had an amazing lobby, I will give them that. We got impressed when we walking in, but our excitement started going down as high as the elevator went up.
I put a few pics to illustrate my point. Bathroom was totally beat up, cabinets falling apart with some weird things growing out of the bathtub overflow cap. Gross. Towels were dirty and shower wouldn't stop dripping.
Bed was terrible. Like in a basket, both of us would lay on each side and roll to the middle of it without noticing it. We got the room as a Hotwire deal and were supposed to get a king bed but instead got stuck with two full-beds. We asked to change room and - at least - the front desk person was honest and said that the quality of mattresses would be the same on all of them, even the real king size beds.
At 3am when we couldn't sleep we gathered our stuff and went hunting another hotel so unbearable this place was.

Do not stay here. I repeat do not stay here. This hotel will ruin your vacation. The hotel is old and just downright seedy. The guest halls are musty and feel like a cheap old motel. Our first room we discovered was infested with ants after we woke up in middle of the night being bitten alive, turning on the lights to find ants crawling all over us, on the walls, the sink, the tub, it was like a horror movie. We moved to a second room only to find ants once again. Management was barely apologetic. offered to comp our parking that was it.
The pool is dirty and old. parking is 12 dollars a day to park right out front. Overall this has to be the worst hotel in fort lauderdale. Then to make things worse. I get home to find they still charged my credit card of the parking anyway. This hotel should be shut down by the health board.

This place was as expected: Cheap and poorly maintained. What we did not expect was for the VALET TO STEAL OUR GPS AND PHONE CHARGERS.... Other people who were staying at the hotel while we were also reported Cell Phones and gift cards stolen out of their car. These items were hidden well.. Hidden so well that we forgot to take them in the room with us. I recommend that you DO NOT STAY HERE AND DEFINITELY DONT USE THE VALET. If you do- request to keep your keys with you.

I just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to check out the tiki bar. walked into the lobby and was greeted by what seemed to be two valet and two front desk employees. never moved out of my way for me to ask where to go. laughing and snickering when I finally was approached. rude. the bartender never even asked hey how are you...just what do you want. sat there on a barstool at the opposite side of bar texting the entire time. when it came time for the bill (two of us and one drink each) he did not tell us gratuity was automatically included. I just happened to read the whole bill. he acted all flustered when we asked about it. seriously! you didn't even say hello. what makes you think you deserve a tip!? I'm a bartender. I would of left more regardless but come on...you have to be friendly! the men's room had dirty towels all over along with empty shampoo bottles. why? there are no showers in there! housekeeping needs step it up! bad customer service all around, thank goodness there are so many other places here!

Have been here twice and each time was excellent. This hotel is right on the beach - you cannot get any closer. The pool, Tiki Bar, and hot tub are about 20 feet from the beach.

The best part is that everyone here makes sure you have a great time. The entire staff is courteous, attentive, and helpful.

The hotel is in a quieter area off of A1A and on the beach. It is near to many attractions and stores and the area is much less congested than other parts of Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

The pool is super clean and there are tons of chairs and towels. The staff makes sure the place is clean and you can get a snack or drink at the restaurant or Tiki Bar. We stayed for 5 nights but wish we could have stayed much longer. The staff made us feel very welcome.

I've been to hotels that cost much more - some two and three times as much - but have not gotten better service anywhere! The people that work here take customer satisfaction seriously.

I can't wait to get back here.

For the price - and the fact that it is one of the FEW hotels right on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale, I give this hotel 5 STARS....  The rooms are about $219 every day, all year.

Yes, if you get a room for 4 people with 2 double/queen beds, it is a small.  The bathroom is really narrow - not a lot of space at all.  BUT ---- and this is a BIG BUT, why are you spending time in your room other than to sleep???  You are on the beach!  And, the hotel has a beautiful pool, hot tub, Tiki bar, mini-golf, arcade, restaurant, etc.  Your room even has a balcony if you need some fresh air while in your room.

The rooms are clean with updated linens, a mini-refrigerator, a microwave, and coffee maker....and ON THE BEACH!  What more could you want?

The hotel is nice and well taken care of. Partial view of the beach is nice especially if you're on a top floor. However, the pool is out of service and the hotel doesn't let you know this at the time of booking, which is very disappointing. Jacuzzi is fully functional and tiki bar is available. There are stupid rules about the beach. You're paying to stay at a beach front hotel but can't sit in front of the hotel unless you rent a chair and an umbrella from the hotel. If you have your own things and a cooler they ask you to move even if you're paying to stay at the property (so stupid). In addition, the parking fees are stupid and they don't even inform you of the free self parking they basically force you to pay $15 for regular parking and valet cost the same thing. Rooms were clean and AC was functional. The bathroom was clean and functional. The door for the restroom in our room didn't lock. We would like to thank the lovely lady at the front desk during check in who extended out stay until 5pm instead of checking us out at 11am for the pool being out of service. I would rather go to Hollywood Beach Hotel that is older but doesn't have stupid rules!

So, went to this hotel for spring break and we had a pretty fun time. The hotel is decent, but definitely could be nicer. The rooms were pretty small, but the biggest problem we had was with the jet ski rentals. Right on the pool deck there is a rental for jet skis, SUP boards, lawn chairs, etc. Unfortunately you have to give this man your credit card and he will put a hold on your card. We noticed the hold went away but a week after our vacation we noticed a bunch of charges happening in FLL. We knew exactly where they were coming from. Very sad that it had to put a damper on the fun we had on the jetskiis.

We just came back from a 5 night stay at the Ocean Sky Resort along the Galt Mile of Fort Lauderdale and it was fantastic.

Here are my reasons for giving them a fantastic review:

    1. The resort is located directly by the ocean so that you can walk outside and get right on it!

    2. Right in front of the beach you have a large pool, a jacuzzi, and plenty of lounge chairs to sun-soak with an Ocean view!

    3. They have a Tiki bar and and onsite dining with pretty good eats to include breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    4. Within walking distance you have some excellent restaurants and places to grab morning coffee and breakfast if you do not want to pay higher prices at the resort.

    5. You get a partial ocean view from your balcony at your room!

Should you want to take the water taxi and get a tour of all the stops along the water, to include the most beautiful homes on the water, the galleria Mall, and Las Olas Blvd - where there are tons of shops and places to eat -  Take a walk outside the Ocean Sky, turn left, and walk approx 1 mile to get to stop 10 on the water taxi at "shooters cafe."

With all these key points, I will tell you that when I booked 1 month in advance, that I paid 87.00 per night to stay here at the tail end of May. You just cannot beat that deal with everything Ocean Sky offers.

Both my wife and I are fans of this place and we will be returning!

Do not stay here.  The staff is rude, place is dirty, and during our stay, the pool had been drained, which they failed to mention until we were checking in.  Also, the game room was "under construction", as well.  There is absolutely no privacy on the balconies, but the noise from the a/c units drowns out any pleasant sound you might hear outside, anyway.  When I asked for a discount the morning after our stay due to the unuseable pool, the manager hung up on me.  Spend your money someplace else.  Maybe somewhere that the staff considers you more than an annoyance.

    Pros:
    On the beach
    Cheap
    Free wifi

    Cons:
Old & dirty. Front lobby looked ok , but when we got up to the room, it looked old and the bathroom had been remodeled at some point in time , but a very bad job, lots of caulking with mold around the sink and the side of the cabinet facing the shower was completely destroyed by mold

$10/day parking ( what , are people supposed to walk to this hotel)

If you want to simply use it as a place to store your belongings and sleep during your vacation, then it's perfect, cause you can't do much else here.
The pool water was literally filthy after 2 days of weekend use by guests.

A very average hotel. The staff are very nice. The room was old and small.  It was a bit dingy and their are no ocean views due to the way the hotel is positioned (sideways). you do have very fast beach access and the staff on the beach are cool. I doubt I would ever stay here again. It is not worth the money.

Came here with my family by purchasing the room on hotelstonight.com . Got a GREAT deal for two nights. The hotel had an upscale feel the moment you walked in. The rooms were adequate with a claustrophobic feeling bathroom. But how long are you really in your room on vacation? Don't expect to connect to WiFi..we tried with several different devices and they all didn't work. The best part about this hotel HAD to be because it was right on the beach with beautiful views, pool, Jacuzzi, and tiki bar. We looked up many hotels in this area and for that price you really can't go wrong.

    Pros:
Price (even though we got a good deal, we felt that the full price was still pretty low)
    Beach side pool
    Patio with partial ocean view
    Clean rooms

    Cons:
    Cramped bathroom
Parking $15 per day whether you use their valet or self park
    Crappy Wi-Fi connection

Overall, we would recommend this resort.

We visited the hotel for a holiday party. The grounds, entrance & lobby are very attractive. A perfect location for tourists. The valet & wait staff were awesome. On the down side the dining area needs an update badly as does the food. Everything was pretty bland and not exciting at all. We didn't get to see a room but this is an older hotel & I would only hope they have renovated those.

    Absolute nightmare.

The *ONLY* reason I chose this place for my trip was because it's a full-service resort, where we wouldn't need to drive or leave the premises for the one night we were staying.  But upon arrival at my pre-paid room, they told me there is ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD AVAILABLE ON THE PREMISES, because of a wedding from 6pm through midnight.

They said if we wanted to eat, we should WALK A FULL MILE to a greek diner, and we should "trust them, it's great."

The concierge was rude and appeared to be on drugs (incoherent, wandering eyes, threatening and confrontational posture, maybe he was taking Bath Salts?).

Oh, and we went to bed at 10pm, but couldn't fall asleep until 3am... because even in our THIRD-FLOOR room, the music from the wedding on the ground floor was too loud.  Naturally, when we complained, they told us "it's a wedding; what do you want US to do about it?"

Obviously nothing, since they already took my money in advance.  This place might be an acceptable deal on days when things don't go wrong, but it COMPLETELY RUINED this portion of my trip.  There are HUNDREDS of places in Fort Lauderdale where my fiancee and I could have enjoyed food and drink on the premises - we would have gone somewhere else if this place had been honest.

    For shame.

I do not recommend this place. The staff is not very friendly. Do not order anything unless your ok with a 15% gratuity. Drinks at the pool bar are small and water down. Be careful they tried to over charge me. Check your bill!

Wasn't pleased generally. Pool wasn't open and staff was stingy with towels.  Only permitted us 3 for 4 people.  Bar by the pool closed early and at the end the staff didn't seem to care much about the inconveniences. Service at the restaurant was lackluster and drinks in plastic cups isn't a great look either.

What makes this a resort?  I am not so sure.  It is a run down hotel with a great beach spot.

At breakfast - there is no host - and I stood there for some time until a server popped out. Food was bad at best, McDonalds would have been significantly better.  When I asked the bar for a drink menu - none.  I heard someone ask the price of a drink and he said $12, which is awesome for a nice cocktail.  But I didn't get the sense that awesome cocktails were being whipped up in plastic cups.

Décor is so outdated.  I am guessing the last renovation was in the late 80s.  The dresser / mirror combo looks like it is from the 70s.

I imagine this would be filled with college students during spring break.

    I can't believe this was $200+ a night.

Very old, dirty smelly hotel. Definitely needs an update. Management leaves much to be desired. I checked in last night - gave my husband's credit card (he stayed at home and gave me his card to use for expenses), all fine (besides the ugly room). Next day me and my mom come to the room all wet from the beach - keys are not working. I go to front desk and there they tell me that it's not my name on the credit card I gave them for deposit - so they blocked my keys and I immediately have to pay them cash or other credit card - really? They sent a security with me upstairs to make sure I bring them that $50!!! Really? So much embarrassment for them not telling me in the beginning that this credit card won't work?? They treated me like A CRIMINAL!!! Those two people at the front - Alberto (it seems like he's just an assistant or something) and Blaga - she was giving him silent signs when the poor guy had to refuse my card and was avoiding eye contact with me. Food at their bar is horrible too - they serve u with plastic cups and paper plates. All fried of course. Rooms are disgusting and smell like mold. Never coming back here.

The hotel management is like on major slow mo.....
the tiki bar must water down their gross drinks....
the beach rental kiosk has a collection of really not nice people running it! lets just say, after watching my friend fall off the ski do....and not able to get back on...the kiosk guys waited way too long! my friend is not in great shape, and a bit on the heavy side......there should be no time to wait! there is more to the story, but seriously, this is a service oriented business...and there seem stop not be service any more...the rudeness was unbelievable......if you want more of the story, contact me....but run don't walk from this place. its a shame too, as its the only place for rentals on this north fort lauderdale beach ( galt mile)

Worst hotel management.  I just completed my third time staying there and this place simply sucks!  I save my money, take my family on a vacation that we have been planning all year, arrive at the hotel(my third time staying at this place) and get treated rudely. Hotel management 101 training would certainly mandate the check in clerk to greet any guest with a simple 'hi, so glad you're here'. After all, it's my vacation, and I've saved thousands of dollars to come here, and travelled thousands of miles to get here. They told me check in is at 3pm, you'll have to come back in 2 hours.  At a minimum, I would of expected an offer to watch my baggage and buy me Coke by the pool. These people are clueless. And while I'm at it; my bathroom had ants, the beds are the extreme opposite of 'firm mattress' which guarantees backache, if you don't valet your car, you have to park across the street, they charge you for a chair on the beach.....
$15 per day parking fee as well. Find another hotel. I won't spend my hard earned money here ever again.

So when I first walked in it seemed great....15 for parking which I guess is normal. The room is a normal standard room, nothing out of this works . The rug is old school the bathroom is small. My favorite part was the bed it is so comfortable !

However the balcony has no privacy at all like you can look in the persons room next to you and even jump over if you wanted to. I really didn't like that at all. But at least you you can walk to the beach!

Pretty dirty and cheap quality. The wifi is horrible and the servers at the restaurant are sassy and crabby. The pool and location are good though.

This was a fine resort on the beach. It's further up and not in walking distance of the stores on the strip so it's quieter. They have their own private beach, pool, and hot tub. It was wonderful walking from our room straight to the pool or beach or both!

It's a older hotel, so the bathroom wasn't as modern, but the most important take away was the hotel rooms were clean! It doesn't matter what the hotel room looks like (to me) as long as it's clean. The hotel staff did a great job cleaning. The balconies are on the side, so you don't have a direct view of the ocean, but you do have a direct view of your neighbors balcony. That was a bit weird, but at least you have a balcony.

The only weird thing about the place is the restaurant. There is no hostess and 1 guy working at a time. It was a bit confusing. Service wasn't great but it wasn't terrible.

It was a great experience to have and while I would not come back (so much to see, stay and do in this world!) I would recommend to others.

This hotel met my expectations. Was it a super duper great hotel? No. But I wanted a cheap solo getaway, and I found it here. I wasn't planning to spend much time in the room, anyhow. I picked the Ocean Sky Resort because 1) It had direct access to the beach, and 2) It had a tiki bar. That's all I wanted and all I needed.

Yes, the hotel/resort was dated. However, my room was CLEAN. Yes, the quality of the towels, sheets, and toiletries weren't great, but the room was clean.

I also liked that Ocean Sky didn't charge an automatic resort fee, like other nearby places. Note that parking is $15/day. It was confusing when I got there, but the $15 INCLUDES valet.

Yes, the drinks at the tiki bar are a bit expensive, but they make the drinks pretty strong. The food at the bar/restaurant isn't great, but I wasn't there for a gourmet meal. A salad or a sandwich were great, so I could stay by the pool/beach all day.

Two complaints/wishes: One night, I came back to the hotel around midnight and wanted to warm up some food (my room had a mini-fridge and a microwave). The front desk person said she can give me silverware, but no plates, and that room service was not available for the rest of the night. Seriously, no plates?

Second, in Florida, IT IS LEGAL TO SMOKE OUTDOORS in public areas. This includes restaurant patios, oceanside dining, the pool area, the tiki bar, the beach, anywhere. I have long resided in states that don't allow this, so I found it obnoxious. Fair warning.

Otherwise, great stay. Cheap, clean, and great beach access. Not a great hotel, but I got what I was expecting.

I really did enjoy our stay here!
I can see why the place might have low ratings because they do kind of nickel and dime you your entire stay-- for example parking is $15per day and you cannot bring any personal coolers, food, umbrellas or chairs on the beach you have to rent them from the resort and prices are steep. Also food is overpriced, and you can have a better meal at surrounding restaurants but I think all of that is expected of a resort.
Customer service wasn't great but it also wasn't terrible.
It met our expectations, it didn't exceed them but overall we had a wonderful stay! Would come back here because of the price!

Deck area is wonderful very relaxing! Beautiful area!
