    This hotel (rather MOTEL) is horrible and is NOT recommended. I stayed here May 19, 2013 for one night only. There is an awful musty smell upon entering the room, the carpets are stained, the toilet looked like a public commode, the window blinds don't close properly, beds not comfortable, top blanket cover had stains and there aren't many electric outlets in the room. Save you're money and pay a little more for cleanliness and comfort. DO NOT go here unless you are in desperate need of a place to stay for one night max.

    on an impulse booking for walking distance to the beach, I can't complain. Bargain price and good location. Customer service at front desk was horrifying and rude to the extreme with this one guy, wish would have remembered his name. After allowing us to get a key, we went to the room, 5th floor. The elevator was tiny( max for 4 people) and creaked. The hallway was gloomy with yucky carpet , with water stains. The room itself was surprisingly clean with a balcony with a side view to the ocean. The pool was small however area was clean. They have a restaurant/bar attached, can get rowdy at night. The beach was right across the street and the main reason I decided to stay. Amenities included complimentary parking, free wifi, towel and beach chairs, small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker. Would I go back, to the beach yeah but never to this hotel. They are supposed to renovate soon... They need to ASAP

    I found this gem via Expedia. I'll start by saying, the more you expect, the more you pay. This is a nice place for the price paid.

    King bed rooms are in the back, a zig-zag walk from the front desk. I suggest a double-bed room overlooking the pool and closer to the front desk and restaurant. It's across from the Atlantic with great vistas from the balconies and the Deck Restaurant.

    I found the room to be clean enough. The carpet feels damp, but that may be normal due to the humidity or because the room is so cold. I was surprised to find an iron and board and a blow dryer in the bathroom.

    Checking in was simple. Liz was friendly and informative. Not sure how I feel about the room safe charge whether you use it or not. Beach towels and chairs are included.

    A laundromat is available, but I wouldn't count on it.

    It's walking distance to eating, drinking and shopping and surrounded by high end hotels. I say stay while it's cheap. If this place ever gets bought or remodeled to it's potential, prices will skyrocket.

    This hotel is awesome.  It is right off the beach, has free parking, and has a fun restaurant on site.  Employees were very nice, they even upgraded my wife and I o their tower suite for our honeymoon.  Loved this place, their location, and their great prices.  I would recommend it to anyone.

    I came here in high hopes, however it didn't turn out like that.   First of all the pictures on their website are BS they make it look so welcoming well guess what? ITS NOT.  The first day we arrived there I wanted to make a B-Line out of there.  It was so rinky-dinky.  Part of the hotel was under construction, the only good thing was the beautiful view of the beach across the street.  Okay, so I sucked it up and gave the place a try.  I was skeptical at first but then the place started to grow on me.  It was cute and served its purpose of just bed and bath.  Breakfast was a rip off, they charged for toast with your breakfast, and each additional cup of coffee.  So on the night before we left, the air conditioner gave way.  The front desk was very accommodating and moved us to what we thought was a "better" room.  Yeah? This room was crawling with bedbugs, it was sooooo horrible!  I was getting the heeby jeebies.  So the front desk moved us into a "suite" which they assured us there were absolutely NO bedbugs.  Okay so there where no bedbugs but another crappy air conditioner we had to put up with.  I looked at it that we were getting the hell on out of there the next morning and it was just one more day!  Overall, I really would have wanted to give a good recommendation this place, but I just can't.

    Disgusting. Absolute filth. Smelled so dirty in room I used my entire travel bottle of perfume just so I could fall asleep. Bring flip flops so your feet don't have to touch that carpet. Would be zero stars if possible

    Sea Club saved our trip! Great affordable price from the clerk upon walking in. The only affordable hotel in ft lauderdale we found that out shined the others with included accommodations: free wifi, free parking, free beach chairs/towels, small fridge, coffee maker, and microwave immediately brought upon request, free newspaper, affordable airport shuttle ($16 for two), and their own restaurant/bar, swimming pool and car rental. Wish I knew about car rental, the provide free shuttle to car rental! This place has tons of charm, personality, and spunk. Great funny, personable receptionists and workers. $50 deposit on card could be used in restaurant. Rooms could be updated, sunken old bed, but I was pleased.

    I am sitting in the room as I write this. I was driving myself crazy trying to find a decent priced room in Lauderdale for a 5 day get away with my wife. While I was spending hours comparing pricing to amenities and tripadvisor revews I got a 15% of coupon code from Orbitz and Sea Club was advertising a 50% off sale as well.... so the rooms were approximately $80 and the location was prime. I was torn. The other hotels I had been looking at were further from the beach or were not too close to the beach bar/resaurant strip. I read a lot of the reviews on tripadvisor and elsewhere to be leery but there were enough people saying it was ok for what it was that I thought maybe other people were just being picky. I have read enough reviews on the internet to know a lot of people are crazy and expect more than they should... In this instance they aren't.

    We pulled into the parking lot which was free for us and definitely a pro. The deck restaurant and bar caught my attention also a pro (food was ok drinks are always good) . Walking in the place has a funky feel with weird furniture and a couple parrots. Smells a little funky too, but nothing terrible. Check in was quick and I expected the safe charge from reading reviews. Free beach chairs and towels.... all good. We get past the lobby/front desk and things proceed to go downhill quickly. As soon as we make it to a hallway the lack of maintenance is blatant. I have seen better kept and less stained carpet in the trash. besides the tile in the elevator being busted up, it was dirty. Walls are in desperate need of some paint. I am getting a baaaad feeling. We go into the room and its not as bad as the halls and common areas but its not great. Stained carpets everywhere and musty mildew smell covered poorly by cranberry scented spray. We can see sand in the carpeting so you wonder if they vacuumed. We enter the room. We have windows but they dont open, no balcony, and our windows look out on someone else's balcony. Drapes do not shut all the way so people on the balcony have a pretty clear view of our room..

    We go to the front desk and ask to at least get moved to a room with a balcony or windows that open. They can accommodate if we are willing to take 2 queen beds instead of a king so we jump on that option. Thank god. New floor, same as the old floor. No maintenance on any common areas on this floor either. New room has a balcony! Wife cannot open the sliding door because it needs some maintenance  (see a theme?) but at least we can air the place out. Stained carpets. Dont even like walking around barefoot honestly. Buy a damn carpet cleaner if you are going to have this much carpeting in a building. See sand and such on the carpet but hear the maids vacuuming. My wife had to ask the maid to vacuum again in our room. Looks like they could use some new vacuums too. Beds were so ridiculously uncomfortable it was only moderately better than sleeping on the floor. In a nutshell, if you are under 25 and just looking for a place to pass out every night or in for one night to catch a cruise the next day this might be the right place for you. Anything more and it would be worth the walk to get a similar priced efficiency room or something.

    Pros: Did not see any bugs at all. Free parking. Location! Bar on site.
    Cons: Serious maintenance needed everywhere. Carpets are disgusting (just put in a tile floor if you dont want to take care of the carpets.) Common areas dont even appear to get rudimentary cleaning.

    The water pressure in shower isn't that great. The lobby smells kinda like my grandpa's basement. Its nice that it's right on the water. The decor is vintage. Our wifi only works right near the door, no where else in the room.

    Great location!
    The rooms were clean, but older. You get what you pay for. We had a big room with a kitchenette and living area - HUGE!! So much space for four people, it was great. The elevators were slow and older but that's fine, my butt should be walking up the stairs. You're in Fort Lauderdale, you shouldn't be hanging out in your room all day anyways.

    We checked in early because we had just gotten off a cruise. The front desk girl was super nice and worked as quickly as possible to try and get us into a room early and I am beyond thankful that she did. Free WIFI. Great views. The restaurant was pretty good. Watched some of the Alabama/Notre Dame game there. Good food and drinks!

    I stayed here on 12/28 and paid around $200 for one night.  This hotel was an absolute nightmare.  I tried to check in and was told there were no rooms available at the check in time.  I kept my baggage in the car and it was broken into and every valuable thing i had with me was stolen.  The hotel staff saw that i had my laptop bag with me and that was what was stolen from my car.  i  believe that the hotel runs a scam to rob travelers.  there is a security camera in the parking lot but for some reason the thieves knew exactly how to avoid it.  I tried to discuss this with the manager Ronen Parhi  but he kept me waiting for 45 minutes while he sat there smoking cigarettes.   Ronen refuses to cooperate with the police on this matter and so far will not return any of my phone calls.

    The rooms are absolutely disgusting.   Our room had sand all over it when we checked in.  When we checked in the air conditioning was broken and we had to wait over an hour to get it fixed.  The beds were uncomfortable.

    The only positive thing about this hotel is that it is located across the street from the beach.  

    Please do not stay at this hotel.

    my husband booked this Motel through  Groupon i say Motel because thats what it is before we stayed our theory was great a bargain should be around 1100 dollars reduced to 700 for 6 nights well really its a 60 dollar a night motel at best . Anyway we checked in a very helpful Louis  showed us to room number 1 AC was broken ok onto room number 2 air worked but room didnt lock properly the view was that of a wall terrible . room 3 carpet was well i think dirty with sand but we settled for this as we were tired .But i guess you get what you pay for right  WRONG next issue was the caution tape around the pool  as construction was being carried out around and above it . I asked about the gym this was not ready yet even though the website clearly stated it was open. If it was the staff were not privy to it same for the business center. The pictures on the website i have to say are completely misleading as has been said elsewhere on yelp . we stayed for ONE night only with  the truck like sound of the ac the whole night . I think what tipped me over the edge was the beach chairs and this i believe is my fault as again i looked at pictures of beds and umbrellas and thought no more of it when the chairs was given over i realized they really mean just chairs beds and umbrellas were xtra on the beach .The wifi was utterly useless needless to say we checked out at the first opportunity and stayed at the Westin which was fab on a plus note the staff were fantastic and tried their very best .

    I stayed here for two nights during the holiday week between Christmas and NYE 2013 so it was very expensive at nearly $300/night. I will not stay here again but you may find it's for you as I've heard people find rates at less peak times for under $50/night.

    The location is fine as it's right on the water near what seemed like great beach areas. Check-in took forever (nearly an hour) as they had one-person doing check-in and several others tasks during the Friday afternoon rush. Additionally, they charge you all these silly resort and electronic safe fees when this place is far from a resort.

    After checking in, we parked in the convenient lot in the back and went to the room. The room was acceptable for cleanliness standards as (I hope) I didn't catch any diseases from it but it is simply not well maintained. The carpet was dirty and worn and it appeared to be very old. The bathroom fixtures were very rusty in spots and the room and halls had a very stinky smell to them. The entire property just seemed very old and dingy making the thought of going back each night a damper on the entire trip. It looks as though not a dime has been reinvested in this property in 20 years.

    Me and my roommate vowed to never speak of this experience again but I felt obligated to put other Yelpers on notice for what to expect here. EDIT: My roommate for this experience has since moved to Ft Lauderdale and I often start the conversatio with "So have they torn down the Sea Club Resort yet?" That should give you an idea of what I think of this place.

    PS- Make sure you check out the "Filtered Reviews" (or I think they call them the "Non-recommended Reviews" now) for this place. I don't know how Yelp is figuring out how to get rid of these reviews but I read them and most of them seemed right in line and fair with what I thought of this place. There is a very good chance of you being surprised/disappointed if you only read the non-filtered reviews.

    My fiancé  (girlfriend at the time) and I paid just shy of $900 to stay here for 5 days during the 2014 New Year's holiday.  Knowing that this time of year is the pinnacle of tourist season, I made my reservation for a room with a king bed more than a month in advance.  While checking into the "hotel" the woman working the front desk asked me if I had made my reservation that day, which I found weird, but informed her that I made my reservations over a month ago. Without saying anything else as to why she asked, I was handed the room keys and off I went.  When I opened the door to our room I was surprised to find that they had placed us in a room with two twin beds.  I immediately called the front desk to let them know of the error and the response I received was "I'm busy, if you don't like it you can call expedia and complain."  Never mind the fact that I booked through bookit.com and not Expedia, but I attempted to explain the circumstances to front desk and asked them if they noticed the girl that I had with me when I was checking in.  The front desk confirmed they saw her and I informed them that I was actually planning on asking her to marry me the next night and would really like the king bed that I had made the reservation for.  The hotel's response was "We are completely booked, if you don't like it we can refund you and you can find a new hotel."  Wow, that is some great hospitality and a ludicrous suggestion considering finding a vacant room at that time of year is not only extremely hard, but extremely costly if you are booking the day of.

    When I went turned on the light to bathroom I was disgusted to find that the water in toilet was a urine-stained yellow and unflushed. I flushed the toilet before my fiancé entered in an attempt to make the best of the situation and to my surprise the water the refilled the toilet was the same shade of urine soaked yellow!  It seems the "hotel" has a problem with their plumbing or rusty pipes as all of the water in the room including the sink and shower was the same shade of dirty yellow.  Of course my fiancé entered the bathroom 5 minutes after I did and yelled at me for "forgetting to flush the toilet", she was soon made aware that it was indeed not the culprit, but it was pretty embarrassing nonetheless.  Additionally, our shower did not properly drain and the yellow stained water would accumulate and rise as you rinsed off.  Make sure to close your eyes when you are trying to brush your teeth with yellow water!

    I called bookit.com to complain of the error with the room not having right sleeping accommodations. The bookit.com CS rep  was very friendly and apologetic and agreed to put me on hold while they called the front desk themselves.  The bookit.com rep got back on the line with me 10 minutes later and said "Wow, I have never dealt with someone with such a bad attitude.  I am going to call the general manager of the hotel and see what I can do for you." After another 10 minutes on hold the CS rep came back and replied "Ok, I am sorry to say this, but the GM was even more of an **** than the front desk!"   Bookit.com apologized and gave me a credit for $125 which made the sting a little less painful.

    It seems the hotel also had a vendetta against my fiancé and I since we chose to complain about our accommodations.  The "hotel" uses a placard-on-the-door system with "maid please clean" on one side and DND on the other.  The first day of our stay we flipped the placard for the maid to clean and left for the beach, when we came back several hours later the placard was flipped to DND and our room had not been touched.  I chalked this up to maybe a child playing a random prank and brushed it off.  The next day we left for an hour to grab some brunch with friends and flipped the placard again to request cleaning.  Since the maid was only a couple doors down at the time we left I didn't think there would be an issue, but of course when we returned the placard had again been turned around to DND and of course our room was still dirty.  I called the front desk to complain and they stopped just short of calling me a liar and responded with "I trust my cleaning crew."  Please keep in mind that every time I called the front desk to complain I did it in a very courteous non-confrontational manner and these are the responses I received.

    All in all, please save yourself the headache of staying here.  Their prices may be low, but quality of service is even lower. The fact that this place tries to pass itself off as a "Hotel" let alone a "Resort" is downright laughable, you would honestly be better off booking a stay in one of the many nearby motels.

    I would really give this a 3.5 mostly because I have a soft place in my heart for kitschy places. I have to say I like seeing a hotel that isn't a chain try to make it in today's economy. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with great beach access this is your place. Our room was clean but VERY small, esp. The bathroom was hard to navigate. It needs a clothes line for swimwear and the hotel needs a sand shower station. The internet was awful. The front desk was nice and so were the valets. The price made our stay-cation within reach. The restaurant next door was very good and very reasonably priced.

    Me and my friend were looking for an inexpensive hotel to spend the night on the beach as part of a relaxing 1 day vacation. This place is definitely not a resort. Jus shy of better than a motel. I've definitely seen cleaner places than it, but not gross by any mean. They give you complementary parking, wifi, two free drinks and breakfast. I could not find the wifi on my phone but my friend did on her iPad: 2 bars. That's pretty slow if you ask me but the point of this weekend was to hang out on the beach all day not in the room. So that was a non issue. The complementary breakfast only included a choice between bagels, muffins and toast. Not any of the items on the breakfast menu. That if you ask me is a little grimy. I've had better free breakfast at other motels. On the plus side, the AC was cold and the beds were comfy. The free beach towels and chairs were a great plus since the beach is right across the street. If you are looking for a resort with spa and room service and shiny tiles, this place is not it. But if you're looking for a comfy place to sleep after a whole day at the beach, this place fits the bill. Cheap and efficient.

    Baddddd!!!! Horrible !!! This is a place you should stay if you want to laugh one day with your friends telling the story of been here !!! I ask for towels and they say no more !!! Check in took forever they gave us wrong room and the when we got there someone was there already!!!
    There is so many thing that I can tell !!! Just don't come here please , trust me the worst hotel ever I do t know how are they in business there is ants in the bathrooms ,, the place is dirty smell bad !!!!!
    If you sleep in the beach it will be better than getting a room here !!!

    The staff is fine but they'll throw you out of the hotel before giving you a second room key if you lose yours. The general manager is the most pompous rude person to ever be in the hospitality industry. I slept on it,having been shocked by his lack of hospitality and in the morning I was just as angry. DONT STAY HERE. If anything goes wrong you will have to deal with a man who has no business in the customer service industry at all. I was not treated like a human being. I am DISGUSTED by the way I was treated.

    After reading reviews, we knew what we were walking into when we booked a couple of nights at the Sea Club Resort after returning from a cruise. You really do get what you pay for. The rooms are outdated and had a strong odor to cover up cigarette smoke, even though they do have a policy that states No Smoking in any of the rooms. There were clean bedding, a hot shower, working outlets, and a lock on the door (enough to ask for if you paid less than $100/night). So perhaps not the best smelling or most updated furnishings, but we were also looking for a simple hotel on the beach.

    The only time we did spend in our room was to sleep. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, which is essentially diner food.  The hotel is convenient in regards to location on the beach. You can jump on the Sun Trolley or commuter bus for a couple of dollars to head down to Las Olas Blvd or other areas. There is a pool, which was very clean. There really aren't many gripes.

    In all honesty, it is a beach motel made for beach goers. I think they should drop 'Resort' as part of their name, because that may be misleading. Sea Club Motel would be more suitable.

    Restaurant attached with friendly staff
    they help arrange transportation to/from airport which costs a lot less than a taxi.
    room is in sleepable condition
    The weird birds in the lobby.

    One of the saddest hotels: found cockroach (gave to front desk); never informed about remodeling going on - looks anything their doing is from items found along the streets;  also never told about the construction going on around the building - but sounds like its going on right next to room; free wi-fi only when its working - which is not too much!  Given no credit or any thing for the inconvenience - remember you get what you paid for - would not recommend to anyone regardless.

    The staff is wonderful. The place isn't a resort by any stretch of the imagination, but the rooms were totally functional (mini fridge, wifi, cribs, clean, decent view). The bar/restaurant downstairs had decent bar food and drinks. The food/drink was a little overpriced, but you pay for the view, which is quite lovely.
    If you are looking for something low key with good accommodations and dining choices try it out. If you want fancy, pay more elsewhere.

    DON'T EVER GO HERE!!!! It's the most disgusting place I've ever stayed at! The paint was peeling off the walls, the carpet was gross, and I got bed bug bites from their bed!!! Oh AND The tub and the toilet water was YELLOW!!!! YELLOW!!! I even asked management to come up and take a look at it to see if it was normal! THEY SAID YES! After the second day we took our business else where. Clearly they were lying because our other hotel was normal the water, the walls, everything! Please if you decide to go to Fort Lauderdale DO NOT STAY HERE! Its disgusting and they have bad service!

    An ok place to crash for the night. Keep your expectations low and you will be ok. We had a cockroach in the tub and paint falling off the walls. The highlight was Joseph the bell man he was always helpful and kept a smile. They had a great bartender named Chris as well.

    PS....As to free wifi...5th floor room towards back parking lot..anytime and always connection. There is always a but....somewhat slow but every place has wifi too

    PSS...One more tiny bit more. ...I'm back in "the north"..frozen. .2 inches of ice over 9 of snow. Snow now..In the hi 10's .you bet I'd go back ..I'd park it in the lobby! !

    Nice small hotel in the first line to the beach. Not very expensive (180$) for two nights. Good and clean rooms in a adequate size. Tv is working. The bar/restaurant serves good food until 10 pm and has oceanview.
    The staff is very helpful and nice.
    I would stay here again!

    Stayed one night (2-4-15) and booked through Hotel.com .  Price was $100 and other times they get premium space at this rate. This however was not one of them. Hotel was very tired looking. Junk charge of $2+ because they have a lock box in room (never saw it). Although the room was paid in advance, hotel placed a $100 credit card fee and promised it would be returned the next morning.  When I checked out they told me up to three days to return CC fee.
    Rooms were old and bathrooms were circa 1965 motel era. If you were looking for a cheap place in FLL, well you found it.  WIFI was good however.
    Oh and the new next door construction site with jackhammers starts work at 0745. You won't need an alarm clock.

    It's nothing more than a truck stop motel. NOT A RESORT!!!! I say again NOT A RESORT!!! Save yourself time and money by staying somewhere else. You'll be woken up by hotel staff walking by your room at 5 am. The water is yellow and the toilets are industrial flushers from a 1960s bathroom. I found a roach in our bathroom and the bed linens are disgusting at best. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH TRIP ADVISOR!!! DO NOT USE TRIP ADVISOR TO RESEARCH A TRIP!!! TRIP ADVISOR IS A SCAM!!!

    I would not recommend this hotel even in total total desperation.
    When making a two night resoveration they had no ability to email conformation,  he gave a confirmation #.
    The place is the old Jolly Roger.  Sone attempt was made to spruce it up (not). Awful perfume smell to cover smokers
    Caution tape at pool and stairs.
    At time of checkin the manager wanted a 100.00 damage deposit and a 2.00 fee for the safe in the room.
    The place looked old the desk clerk said I'll charge for tonight.  You decide in the morning.  With tax the charge was 379.00
    I called to state we would stay, better hotels were booked.
    They gave our room away at 400.00 per night.
    We called the front desk and gave the confirmation number and they said it is not a valid confirmation number.
    The new girl at the counter said to come and get our shit or she was calling the police.
    She hung up.
    We return to the hotel to get our stuff:  the key was locked out.  
    I informed the manager the language that was used by his staff threatening to call the policeand he turned it around and raising his voice in the lobby in front of newcomersthat we did not have a reservation when indeed we did. Never ever go to this hotel.

    This sh*t right here...
    So I had to book a short notice trip on a busy wknd and this is the place I ended up at bc the price was right and I figured "hey its right on the beach those hotels are always nice right?" WRONG. what a dump!!! First sign I messed up was when it smelled weird in the halls and the most convenient entrance to the room was through the DARK back parking lot thru a door that has a card swiper but doesn't close -_-

    the room will be better right? WRONG AGAIN, it had a wall air-conditioning unit which went out onto the balcony of the next room meaning everytime they smoked that nasty air blew right into my face.
    Aaand the bathroom... The tub was painted with like wall paint so OF COURSE it was peeling off. N to make matters worse it didn't drain and I made the grave error of peering into the drain to see what could possibly be blocking the water. It was the nastiest and biggest hairball I've ever seen with pieces of paint chips embedded in it *gag*. I'd rather take a bar of soap into the ocean than expose the sole of my foot to that nastiness.
    Oh heavens, I forgot to mention the elevator... That thing was old as dirt and looked like something you find in the oldest buildings in the hood in Brooklyn. Aaaand the rubbish was broken for a day n I had to walk to the 5th floor...
    And the parking lot... Guess it is too much to expect that my car will have a spot when I return for the night huh? People were parked in all directions, blocking others and I ended up in the dirt under a tree smh.

    ONE PRO... When you escape this terrible place, the beach is right across the street.

    ANCIENT (not in a good way).  Starts with awful room.  Leaks, old carpet, worst bed.  Security on parking & entry a strong indication of previous issues.  Awful staff at desk and dirty every where.  Elevator scary.  Going on pointless on this awful experience.  Save yourself.

    I never had the pleasure of staying at this fine resort and I am sure glad we ended up switching locations.

    When I made reservations, I was never informed that I was going to have to put down a $2,000 deposit for my room...I had to hear it from a another group of individuals who were going to be staying here the same week I was.

    When I called to address the issue, the man working at the front desk was very rude and did not have answers as to why I was out of the loop. He said I would have to address it with the general manager in the morning. When I kindly responded with a "Thank you, I will call back in the morning." He replied, "Good, girl."

    The price seemed reasonable but I was not appreciative of the way I was treated.

    I gave this place 1 extra star because some of the staff was pleasant. However, if you like dirty towels, tv's that show 1 channel, disorganized chaos, at a 5 star price this is the place for you! (The fact that they charged me $2 for a bottle of water, the TV barely worked, the wifi was extra slow, the room seemed dirty (probably not house keeping's fault considering the fixtures in the room are probably older than I am), the manager was yelling at a guest while I was checking in, etc... Really pushed this review down). I will stay anywhere else for my next visit!

    Terrible experience at the Sea club.  checked in no information about the hotel or anything going on in the area.
    woke up in the middle of the night to the door knocking, water all over the room because a water pipe broke under the sink.  And now I have to pay $3000 in damage for THEIR broken water line, because every who works there lies to cover their own ass!  They do not tell the truth!  
    Do not stay here they will scam you!!!!!!

    Sooooo you read the reviews sometimes thinking, "it'll be different for me"... NOPE!!!

    Now at first I figured I picked a winner because a girl at the front desk said I was lucky to be staying here since it's right across from the beach and its a nice place. She said she was staying at the Ramada... I'm thinking, okay... Smart pick Tieren.

    Let's see what's nice about this "resort" okay first of all this is a motel. Not a resort, not a hotel... A motel.

    Perhaps I missed the fine print somewhere, but I didn't know there was a $100 deposit. I knew about the $2 fee and was cool with that. Whatever! We got that back the very next morning... Cool.

    Aight so we get there and the doorman was friendly and really attentive. He greeted us, opened the door promptly, loaded our bags on the cart and took everything to our room. Now here comes the bad part.... Wait for it...

    Up the elevator I go by myself (my husband was still getting the car situated) and there are no lights in the hall, so I'm trying to figure out how the key works... Break...

    I've been to many hotels where I've had an actual key, a card to stick in vertically, side swiped, touch, all kinds of ways. Break over...

    After I figured out the key card situation, I step into a dark room. Now remember there is no light in the hall facing outside which is also dark, and there's no light switch on the side wall. So I'm feeling around on the side walls for a damn light switch. FINALLY! EUREKA!!! It's on the motherfreakin lamp... Still had to feel around that dusty ass lamp for the switch.

    Turned on the light and guess what I saw? A decent room... A little old but it's all good. TV is a bit fuzzy. Ceiling is a bit displeasing, cuz you're not sure if something may crawl and you not notice, but it was all good. But ummmm why are the toiletries half used? Ill! I didn't want to take a shower cuz of the dusty ass vent above. I'm thinking something is going to crawl out of that since it's clearly been neglected. And the toilet flushes for like a minute. No seriously... The first time I used it I thought I broke it, by the way it kept going.

    The walls are really thin. I heard the ENTIRE conversation of the lady next door.

    The bed is actually REALLY comfortable! Felt like a memory foam mattress. Parking is free in the back if you can squeeze into a spot. Check out was seamless.

    Sorry... But the bed isn't good enough to bring me back to this joint. I'd rather stay at the Ramada... The girl doesn't know how good she had it.

    The only positive comment I have is that the staff is friendly, and if is across the beach. Everything else about this dump is a mess, and I wish I had asked for a refund and gone home last night when I had a chance.

    They messed up the check-in process, for which I put a 50% deposit, so it took an extremely long time. They didn't have the right room (King), and asked if I'd take two queens. I settled because I just wanted to get to the beach and put the needlessly long start of the day behind me.

    The winding hallways leading to the hallway passed a construction site and were very dirty and old. The elevator, which had an expired certification, was slow and tiny, stank horribly, and looked like something from a horror movie, reluctantly got us to out floor.

    The room was nasty, and the "queen" beds were probably full or twin. Tiny child beds. I called the desk and got into a debate about the size of the beds (so unnecessary). I told them I was done going back and forth, and for them to have a king when I got back from the beach in a few hours.

    I came back, and the front desk guy tried to talk me out of taking the King bed I had reserved and paid for already. More time wasting and nonsense.

    The key to the king room didn't work (of course), so we went back to the old room to pick up out stuff and call the front desk. Here's where i should have asked for a refund and left.

    Instead, we asked for a new key. We eventually got to our king room, but we changed quickly and left.

    When we got back, tired, we finally got a chance to see it. The bathroom was a nightmare. It was so dirty and in need of renovation, and get this: the toilet had crap on the seat. Literally. Feces. I had to clean it. It looked like I was the first person to do so in a while.

    Wearing my shoes in the shower and avoiding the smelly cloth shower curtain, I took a few moments to reflect on my mistake in staying and thinking anything would get better.

    The paper-thin walls offered no privacy through the night. We could hear the individual words of conversations spoken at a normal volume from our neighbors. Which means they heard what was supposed to be a romantic getaway. Fun for everyone, I'm sure.

    And now, here I a, the morning after. I set my alarm to 10:00 to wake up in time to check out early and demand a refund on my second night here. Yet I started thus review at 9. Why? Because the sounds of construction woke me up at 8:30.

    This was an awful experience. The entire hotel has a combination of a musty smell plus an agent used to cover it up. This is not a resort - It's a motel with outside corridors, which are poorly lit, loud and somewhat concerning from a personal safety point of view. At check-in, I was informed there was a $100 hold and a $2 in-room safe fee, both of which had not been disclosed during the booking process.

    The room itself was outdated, with a thin layer of dust over all the furniture. The bathroom was certainly the worst: paint peeling off the walls, scraped floor tiles, bathtub encased in soap scum, sink with whiskers in it upon check-in, rusted fan vent, mildewed shower curtain and a toilet that produced yellow tinted water.

    My friend and I got little to no sleep: The walls are thin, you hear people walking along the exterior corridors all night and people tramping around the floor above. When we checked in, we had two guys leering at us from the other end of the balcony - for the rest of the time, we were concerned for our personal safety as two females on a poorly lit and unmonitored exterior corridor.

    We had just been in Haiti. Our hotel experience there was cleaner and safer. In a developing country.

    Do not stay here.

    I was in Fort Lauderdale for a short weekend trip and waited until the last minute to book my hotel. So, despite the generally abysmal reviews I decided to take a chance on the Sea Club Resort. It's only one night, how bad can it be, right?

    I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. I guess all of the negative reviews had me so freaked out that I was really expecting something awful. This place is, in fact, not awful. It's just fine.

    This is obviously on old motel that has been remodeled over the years. I was lucky and got a room at the rear of the hotel. These rooms are part of an obviously newer addition and have a more modern hotel layout with an interior corridor and balconies. The rooms at the front (closer to the beach) are motel-style rooms with doors that open to the outside. If motel rooms bother you then you should probably try to request one of the other rooms.

    Check-in was fine. We were informed of the $2 fee for the safe in the room as well as a $100 deposit for the night. Since I had read about both of these things in advance I wasn't upset by it, but I can see how that would be an annoying surprise. Check-in is at 3:00 but we arrived a little early and were able to get our room at 2:30.

    The hotel is right across from the beach. The location is really great, and probably the best thing about staying here. There is a lot to do within walking distance. The parking lot at the back of the hotel is very small and crowded, but we were able to find a space every time.

    The walls were a bit thin. I was woken up in the morning by the kids in the room next to us and I could hear their TV when they turned it on. Mildly annoying, but not a big deal.

    So, if you are thinking about staying here I'd say you get what you pay for. Don't be mistaken by "resort" in the name. This is a pretty basic beach motel that has been updated to look more modern, but it's nothing fancy. If you're just looking for a cheap place to sleep after a day at the beach then this is the place for you.
