I can not understand others reviews. I give the refurbished Silver Cloud 5 stars. The most wonderful experience with some of the best food, better than Ritz Carlton service, I like the ship size with 280 guests and 222 crew. Sailing excursions were fun as well as the small islands the ship visited in SE Carribean.A sophisticated group of passengers who are very well travelled.

    Don't cruise with SilverSea.
    there, that's pretty blunt.
We were on the Silver Explorer in March/April of 2012 - Costa Rica and Panama.
    Terrible choices of excursions.
    No interesting lectures, films, presentations.
Boring, tasteless food - and the bagels were actually inedible.
A highly literate crowd but the cabins did not have reading lights.
The Butler was great, the room attendant as nice as can be.
When we returned, I wrote a polite letter to SilverSea.
    Never got a reply.
    That's just plain rude.
so beans on them, next cruise is booked already - on Regent Seven Seas.

Indeed they pretty much suck.  Went on the Silver Wind Venice to Istanbul. Ship is a floating jalopy.  Air conditioning horrible.  Algae growing in pool shower.  Broken light fixtures.  Rusted door locks.  The gym is like a sauna and equipment is old. The wine is swill.  Plus we got ripped off by a private tour guide who charged for extra time that was not extra.  I would never again take a Silversea cruise.

Their customer service, if you can call it that, IS HORRIBLE.

4 couples booked a cruise in Italy.  Cruise included roundtrip airfare - except Silversea chose the airlines, dates and flights based on their contracts; not our schedules or requests.  If you do make a special request, there are multiple "deviation fees"  AND then they still can't book what you want.

Spa services were supposed to be available for pre-booking and planning purposes 60 days out from cruise departure date.  Link never went up.  Two e-mails to their service department went unanswered.  When I finally was able to get through to a Silversea agent, I was told the link had been "disabled" and to book when we got there.

REALLY POOR SERVICE ALL AROUND.  Are they now owned by Carnival / Costa?

Terrible customer service.  The cruise line booked our flights with a 30 minute international layover.  Due to a slight delay, we missed our connection.  The company's response was "sorry, you are out of luck."  Be VERY careful booking airfare with this company.  If anything goes wrong, even if its their fault, you are will lose all of your money.  When you try to work it out with customer service, they never call back.

Had the same experience as the previous reviewer.   The sales reps will say anything to get the booking, but if something goes wrong, they are gone.  My family and I have been on many cruises and have dealt with plenty of issues in the past with various carriers.  Never have we felt so poorly treated.

I just got back from a nine day cruise from Rome to Venice and everything was great . The cabins were clean and spacious and the Butler was there to help assist you with any needs and make sure that your favorite wine or liquor were in your suites. This cruise the Silversea was all inclusive with food, liquor and wine. The food was  perfect every night and the employee to guest ratio made sure you were pampered. For a fun and different experience I recommend trying lava rock cooking were you cook your own dinner on a rock that is. 400 degrees. This was a fun experience and added to our cruise experience being able to cook under the star at night
I haves also  never experience such excellent entertainers on a small luxury boat with about 198 passenger to 120 crew.
I highly recommend this ship line. We were also invited into the ships gallery to see and experience the crew preparing our dinner.
Let me tell you the galley was very clean.
This cruise is only for the discriminate luxury adults to enjoy.
My thanks to the entire crew for make this a special and enjoy vacation. I plan to take another cruise with this line and recommend if this is your interest to look at this cruise line .
