This was the most incredibly rude hotel I have EVER experienced in my life.  I was in town for a friend's wedding over this past weekend.  My fiance and I had booked the room about 2 months in advance online because they were having a really good deal on the rates for booking in advance AND it was pet friendly and close to the venue.  (The recommended hotel by the bride and groom did not allow dogs and we like to bring our pooch whenever we can.)  Otherwise we would have opted for a nicer hotel.

We traveled all day from California, rented a car and were so relieved to finally arrive at our hotel. Imagine my surprise when the guy at the front desk tells me he cant find our reservation.  Well, no worries! I have my iphone and on my iphone is my specifically saved emailed confirmation. Ha! So he looks at the email confirmation and then calls his boss.  After he disappears for about 15 minutes he comes back to tell us that they CANCELED our reservation.  I asked "Why on earth would you do that?" He then replied because they tried to charge our credit card this morning and it wouldn't go through.  Ummm.  Really??! I booked a room TWO MONTHS in advance and you now tried to charge that card 2 months later, the MORNING OF MY ARRIVAL, and when it doesnt go through you CANCEL my reservation instead of contacting me?!?! Am i insane or is that not totally messed up!!?  (The card I used at the time of booking had gotten lost about 3 weeks prior and we were forced to cancel it and order a new card.)  

Because the reservation made it VERY clear that is was non refundable (Because of the promotional deal being offered) I was under the impression that it had already been charged.  Okay so fine, that card didn't work this morning.  Here, allow me to give you A DIFFERENT card.  But NOW is where I start to get really pissed.  The guy starts telling me that because the card didn't work this morning, he will only now rent us a room at the full rate, which was OVER DOUBLE what we booked the room for.  Before completely losing my sh*t, I asked to speak with the Manager.  I calmly explained that we booked the room 2 months ago, we just arrived and we would like to pay for our reservation now.  She was just about the most hideous excuse for a human being I've ever spoken to.  She starts telling me that its my fault the card didn't work and its my problem they canceled my reservation. That I had the responsibility of knowing that they would charge a card the morning of the reservation, prior to us actually arriving, and if it didn't go through that instead of calling us like reasonable human beings and getting a new card number or WHAT IF THERE WAS A COMPLETELY INNOCENT HOLD ON THE CARD WITH MY BANK FOR SOME REASON.  LIKE OH I DON'T KNOW, THE FACT THAT WE ARE TRAVELING TO ANOTHER STATE!?!?! But instead of finding out what was going on, just canceling on us and then REFUSING to honor our original agreement once we arrived, wanting to PAY FOR OUR ROOM.

Keep in mind that they still had our room available and ready.  They were just literally holding us hostage to try and get over DOUBLE our money.  Anyway, she was so nasty on the phone and I realized then that there was no use talking to her further and we hung up.

These people are disgusting and needless to say, I REFUSED to give them double our money.  Screw those ppl.  And we were able to find a hotel on such short notice thank goodness.  I will NEVER STAY at their hotel, and perhaps maybe even ANY TRAVELODGE ever, because this experience left such a terrible taste in my mouth.

Stayed here for a few days while moving and it was exactly what I was expecting from the type of motel that it was. The room was clean, the TV and wi-fi worked well, the managers I talked to were helpful and polite. Overall, not bad - especially to be that close to the beach!

If there is nothing else available, take it. But we found that the carpet and draperies were filthy, the maids do not speak English and the staff kept promising us the wi-fi would soon be working but they never fixed the problem. Aditionally, the pool was not open and the dryer was broken, meaning we had to haul our laundry down the road. We needed pet-friendly lodging so we were stuck, but if you don't have a dog, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The single most horrible hotel I have ever stayed in. What a dump! Smells like its 50 years of low-maintenance service looks. This place needs some serious renovation work.  

The only favorable thing I can say is that the TV and the free wifi performed satisfactorily but given the price charged that is only as expected.

Arrived early nothing was ready OK. The office looked unorganized and dirty with a 1970's ac unit.
The outside is old and needs paint and fixing. The room was below avg. I feel robbed of 10000 rewards points x's 2.
The free breakfast area was so gross I was nauseated by that area.

Avoid this place like you would a virus.

We are staying here now and it's been great, don't let the other reviews scare you away. Sure, it's not luxurious. It has all your basic necessities though so if you don't want to pay $500/night to be on the beach this is a fantastic option. Plus, they work with Ocean Manor hotel right across the street and you can go through their lobby to get to the beach AND hang out at the tiki bar! It's a great setup. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. They have a pretty good continental breakfast too, with the best hotel eggs I've ever had! We used Uber to get around and that was great too. Just do it. Unless you like fancy-pantsy. Then don't.

I don't understand why this hotel has such bad reviews! It's a nice property, nice big bed, clean room, big flat screen tv, and the room has been cleaned and remade everyday. The continental breakfast is pretty basic, but honestly my ONLY complaint is the super slow WIFI. I think most of the other reviewers we're expecting the Four Seasons...

This travelodge is not a very high end hotel but considering the prices of al the other hotels this was a great deal. It's not super close to the tourist attractions but very close to the beach and a McDonalds across the street as well as a few other shopping options (grocery, pharmacy, etc).  The phone in the room didn't work, neither did the safe or the a/c or heater.  Wasn't the end of the world but should probably be fixed.  Free internet was great!  It was a bit intermittent but regardless I was happy to have it.  McDonald's across the street has Internet as well.   The room is pretty basic and the bathroom is not luxury but it does the job.   Using uber and the bus it was fairly easy to get around.    I haven't had the breakfast as yet but so far everything is okay.

This property is definitely older and I was fine with that since I grew up with the cinderblock beach style. The room was basic and the bed was comfortable. We had an "upgraded room" and I'm not sure what that meant. There was a new vanity in the bathroom and the room was spacious. And mostly pretty clean.

The carpeting was pretty gross though...as one would expect from a hotel near the beach. The TV offered a really blurry picture which didn't matter to me too much. The towels were very thin. The free breakfast was OK but not really my thing so I only partook on one morning. The free WIFI was OK for my vacation needs.

The outdoor space was lovely with a very tropical garden and a nice pool area. The parking is free and is available in front or behind the hotel. I would recommend a small car for the back parking. The staff was polite and accommodating.

Access to the beach was a bit further than I thought when I booked. You have to cross North Ocean (4 lanes + bikes) and a strip mall and then go through the lobby of the hotel slightly North of the Travelodge and then you can hit the beach.
