Great husband and wife hotel. Amazing price.
This quaint little hotel features absolutely lovely grounds, a heated pool, and suites for the price of hotel rooms. They are very easy walking distance to the beach and within a quarter mile of many of the local restaraunts, shops and other cool stuff.
My favorite part was the owners - they couldn't do enough for us, and yet managed to be helpful without being constantly underfoot. Spare beach towels, the offer of beach chairs, and friendly conversation were readily at hand.

My husband and I are venturing on our honeymoon. He was in such a rush that he got us to Ft. Lauderdale a day early.. Our cruise ship was not there. I was more than happy to be away from life! However, it was memorial day weekend and we were homeless! Thank goodness to Yelp we found filtered to our price range and started calling.
The Vistamar villa was wonderful. It's owned by a husband and wife. The man was SO friendly and recommended nearby places to visit. A bedroom suite was 89$ and it's a block to the beach. The setting was incredibly romantic. It literally looked like an Italian villa- bistro tables and chair were set outside every room. The landscaping was beautiful.. Especially at night. The rooms were clean. Definitely not your "5 star" hotel.. But I'm a very picky/clean person and this place definitely exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back. And the last review to "husband and wife friendly" made sense once we got there..... Next door was a nude beach motel! hahaha! Not quite for us ;) we didn't know until we read the sign.

We spent 3 nights here with our 3 kids. One of the few places on Ft Lauderdale Beach who can (is willing to?) accommodate 5 people in one unit.
We had a suite with a bedroom, living room, and kitchen.
The location is awesome - right off the beach, and easy walk to a bunch of restaurants, pubs, and ice-cream shop. backed up against historical gardens, it has a nice quiet tranquil feel to it. They've done a great job with the pool area, with plenty of shaded seating to sit, eat, talk etc.
The owners/staff are great - very friendly and accommodating.
It's not fancy - very basic and maybe a little drab. But if that's the way they keep the prices down to the extremely reasonable rate that they are, I'm all for it! The beds were very comfortable, and that's what matters.
My only issue is that the window air conditioners are a bit loud - as usual. And I could not figure out how to turn the ceiling fans off at night. (half star off for this)
Over all, we were very please with this place and would definitely return.
