You get to know how good a place is when something happens. Fire alarm goes off at 3:30am!! Evacuated! Apparently, dust on heating coils started smoking. Obviously they are not used much, it's Ft. Myers!
The desk guy on duty did not explain anything to the people milling around. We heard it was okay to go back in from the fire department guys. The desk guy just stood behind the desk shuffling papers.
I expected a little more proactive direction. Any direction.
Now the good news! Marshall is still working hard and on the case at the restaurant! He keeps the place from getting a one star this trip..

I just love this Hilton Garden - talk about great service. The front desk staff is so great, the restaurant food is fabulous. We had one of our best dinners at the hotel restaurant. It was our anniversary and they gave us a bottle of champagne - wow. We are still here but felt the need to pass it on about how great this place is. We will definitely stay here again - top notch service for such reasonable rates. Keep up the great job!!!

While the rooms were nice and the staff courteous the infrastructure is in serious need of attention. Hot water was virtually nonexistent for two nights of our stay. The Internet service is the worst I can remember. Hotels in third world countries have better wifi service. If you need the Internet to do business do not think of staying here.

My brother and my now sister in law had their wedding here last year and it was a great time. Great food cooked by the hotel, cold drinks at the bar...very nice set up. It was nice enough to get me and my fiance' to do our block of rooms and have all of our wedding guests stay here after our wedding at the Heitman House as well as do our rehearsal dinner the night before. The rooms were all clean and the staff was very nice. After we got back to the hotel from the wedding we all wanted to go out for drinks (more of them!!) and the shuttle service they offer took us to Bell Tower at midnight and picked us up quickly around 2:00am. Very nice service they offer and the driver was great as well. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. They have an amazing breakfast buffet in the morning that is a little pricey but is a good quality breakfast. The staff will help you in any way possible. They helped set up our suite the night of the wedding with a nice little note and rose pedals which surprised the heck out of me and her!!

The hotel was centrally located near places where we wanted to visit. It was a short drive to restaurants, beaches, and shopping centers. Comfortable bed and good housekeeping. I especially liked that they provided a shower cap and make up remover each day. We have stayed at several different locations in the past and most provided ice water or coffee in the lobby but this location only had coffee in the morning while serving breakfast.

This place has gone WAY down hill since we were here last time. We've always stayed here, they've remodeled & not sure if a different management or not, but right off the bat, forgot our toothbrushes & have ALWAYS been able to get a complimentary one--EVEN from less expensive hotels! Not here!! They have a pantry area where you'll HAVE to pay for anything a regular hotel would give you. THEN..... got the sirloin for dinner & couldn't even cut through it----ALOT of arm work out! Too much grizzle & fatty , paid a lot for a bad meal. Very tough to eat! Not sure if the breakfast is as good as it used to be, but didn't want to chance it! Staff is friendly & with our honors card , a good price, but disappointed in the remodel & food!

Nice place with nice staff. The restaurant wasn't great for dinner - we had to send burgers back to get fully cooked, and the rest of the food arrived a bit cold. But the brunch was great.

Great place to stay when you are in town. The hotel is almost done with their remodel. The fitness center includes free weights as well dreadmills. The breakfast offerings include omelets in addition to BACON!
The staff is always friendly and attentive.

I always stay at a Hilton when I travel (unless one is not in the area), I trust Hiltons because it has always been a great and comfortable experience.... Not this time. :/ The only reason I gave it any stars is because the one chef we met, our two day visit and the front desk man were nice even though they looked very over worked.
- shower did not get hot it was barely even warm water.
- towel bin for swimming was empty and dirty bin was overflowing both pool visits, the trash can was also overflowing.
- restaurant/bar only had two staff members we waited a long time to be waited on for dinner, food wasn't good, waiter took a long time to get every body and us sides (I had to ask for crackers for my soup 3 times, by the time I received them my soup was cold) and drink refills and my toddlers pb&j came 10 min after my food with stale hard bread.
- we stayed in a room on the first floor it was directly across from the kitchen the kitchen door was left open at night so we were woken by dishes clanking ALL night. The staff (housekeeping?,dishwashers?) were so loud when walking down the hall or standing talking in the hall it echoes into our room (this happened often through the night).
- my toddler accidentally got chocolate on the sheet and comforter so I placed the plastic card on the pillow (the plastic card has directions for water conservation, place card on pillow if you need bedding changed) I placed the card on the pillow came back that evening pulled the covers back to get into bed.... It was still full of chocolate!
- pulled up the sheet on the last night to check out the mattress controls (they claim the mattresses can adjust to comfort) the mattress zipper was ripped open and the adjust dial was complete pulled apart, I was pretty disgusted but to tired to switch hotels.
This room was not cheap and I don't mind spending the money when I am guaranteed a great visit like Hilton has always delivered, I am extremely disappointed and I don't recommend this hotel.
Update:: Kathy. The hours that were spent in the hotel were evening time, I did not speak with management while at the hotel because as far as I know there weren't any on site. I did however speak with the front desk gentleman who kindly gave me the managers information and card, this is already known because I emailed you. Maybe the fact that there was no night management was reason for a lot of the issues.. ... .... Thank you for your offer of a complimentary stay at your location but as I stated in my email we will not be traveling back to fort myers, My review still stays as unsatisfied.

A very decent hotel for the price. They have a pretty good "restaurant" attached where you can grab dinner at night. There's a nice pool and work out center as well as a nice lobby. The breakfast is one of the better hotel breakfast's I've ever had (undoubtedly because it's not "included" in the price of your stay).
My only complaint was that the room key that they made me initially didn't work -- then the replacement room key didn't work either -- so I spent 15-20 minutes or so standing in the hallway while maintenance figured everything out. I'm sure that was a one time occurrence though.
