If you are looking for a place near Red Sox training complex or the Edison/Ford museum, this is your place. A short walk to both. However, if you are looking for a place near the beaches or like to take a walk around the area at night, find somewhere else. It isn't close to the beach and the area after dark does not seem safe. Businesses around seem to board up at dark and there seem to be several shady characters hanging around. Each night we returned to the hotel we were greeted by police lights within a block of the place. The hotel itself is in good shape. They were doing remodeling when we were there, of which we were not informed of prior to arrival. I will give them a pass however since it didn't interfere too much with our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Avoid the on site restaurant. They were remodeling also and was not a pleasing sight. It will look nice when it is done, but the real drawback to me was the food. Salad and entree came at the same time which is a pet peeve of mine and the food overall was average at best. Service was decent considering there was one girl working the whole place. All things considered, I would probably not return. There are too many other good hotels for the price in better areas.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn during our visit to Fort Myers.
The rooms were clean and spacious, and the bathroom was stocked with lots of extra towels and toiletries. Nothing mind-blowing, but a lot more than I expected from a Holiday Inn.
The hotel was just a 2 minute drive from downtown Ft. Myers, but if it's Fort Myers Beach you want to visit, this hotel may be a little far. It was about a 25-30 minute drive to the beach.
We didn't go in the pool, but it seemed a little small and there weren't a lot of chairs to lay out on.
The front desk staff was extremely helpful with finding good restaurants and fun nightlife activities.

I just spent the night here for the Almost Acoustic Christmas Concert. This was a Hotwire deal, but it doesn't say the place is under renovation. The hotel was fine, room was new fresh refurb. Clean and great bed.

What stood out was the staff... They made a potential so so stay great. Deka at the desk was quiet but efficient, and was kind to my young daughter. Cassie and Melvin in the restaurant went all out to make our dinner a good experience.

Is the hotel great? No, but they sure tried to make the best of what they had to work with... That made the stay great.

I was a little skeptical when we approached the building, being that the neighborhood seems a little sketchy. However, I was pleasantly surprised once we checked in. The lobby was well decorated and inviting, and the staff was super friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. Honestly one of the most comfy hotel beds I have ever slept in. Had no problem getting to sleep...and I ALWAYS have trouble sleeping in hotel beds. There is a dunkin donuts practically in the parking lot and a CVS right next door, which is super convenient. I would have no problem staying here again if I ever pass through Fort Myers. The only reason I didn't give five stars was for the neighborhood..it's not terrible but I don't think the most desirable.

This was a very nice hotel, especially for the price.  The room and lobby were clean and well-maintained. They have a reasonably-priced restaurant with a full bar as well. The bartender, Ken, was really friendly, as was the rest of the staff.I also appreciated  that they had firm and soft pillows and labeled them, because I often find hotel pillows too soft. Free wifi and free parking as well.

I wish this hotel had a shuttle. Ft Myers doesn't have a very robust taxi or public transportation system, so I ended up renting a car to get around. Other than that, I recommend this hotel.

It took 20min to check in. Every vending machine was sold out. There was nothing to drink in the entire hotel - no bottled water. Tap water tastes like chlorine. Hotel said the vending company did not restock. Would not recommend the experience.

A new management company has taken over and they need to get things under control. It took 40 minutes to check-in, due to rooms not being ready. My wake-up call never came through and all that could go wrong checking out did. The staff was sweet and I was patient, but it took away from the experience. The room was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. I would stay again provided they work the kinks out.

Breakfast is not complimentary at this hotel and they don't tell you that at check in.

Our room reeked of tobacco smoke.

No room service.

Couldn't buy coffee in the restaurant in the evening.  The waitress directed me to the Dunkin Donuts next door.

Rough neighborhood at night.  I saw prostitutes in the hotel and waiting outside.  Approached by a panhandler on the hotel property.

Positive things:  Breakfast buffet was pretty tasty and the restaurant hostess for dinner was extremely nice (Chris).

The complimentary shuttle service was good and our driver was very nice.

Great hotel close-ish to most things Ft. Myers.  Free parking was a PLUS but it seems like most things in actual downtown Ft. Myers are far enough away that you need to rent a car.

The hotel has recently been remodeled and it showed.  The lobby was great, food at the restaurant tasty enough and the rooms were nice.  Totally new comforters, pillows, etc. and lots of clean towels.

Really nice pool off the lobby that offered good relaxing opportunities.  Large enough for lap swimming and almost no one used the thing, so it was nice to have an entire pool to myself.  Lots of lounge seating with umbrellas, too.

$89 a night base rate really makes this place worth it.  I'd stay again if I were in the area.
