I booked through hot wire for about $55 a night which isn't bad for in season. I stayed here about a year ago as well. For the price, the place is fair. The room was acceptable. It did have that damp, musty smell, like most of FL. Unfortunately, there is that element of folks who seem to live here (you know, a rubber maid tote for luggage) and may be dodging an out of state warrant, but I will say they mind their business and don't bug anyone. I did feel safe and the parking lot is fairly well lit. The free internet is spotty at best. Free continental breakfast is acceptable. I will say that the pool area looked pretty nice, although it was a bit cool to use. On the fence between 2 and 3 stars, I gave 3 because the desk staff was friendly and accommodating, having helped me with a couple things. If you need to travel economically, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here if you get a great rate and aren't too fussy.

My husband and I travel frequently and usually stay at hotels in this price range.

Booked through Priceline for $27. Expected a shabby but clean room. My husband and I checked-in, dropped off our bags, and went to get take out. When we got back with our food and turned the lights on, there were bugs scurrying on the night stand and counter area by the bathroom. They looked like small roaches. We went to the front desk and they offered to move us to a room next door, which we refused. The hotel looks like it's being remodeled. There is carpet missing in most of the hallways, the walls are relatively thin, furnishings are old but seem clean. Only thing I absolutely could not handle were the bugs.

Gross! The room smelled odd. The cover had burn marks all over it. Only got one towel which was kind of stained. The TV is the old box style but that didn't even matter to me. That night they were sold out over $100/night. Oh and there are bugs too. Do not make the mistake spend a few more dollars and sleep, shower comfortable. There are other hotel up and down the same street.

Star rating for it's category AND price level only.

I booked this hotel on priceline name your own price.  The priceline computer didn't take $28, but did take $29.  Keep in mind Florida prices vary by season, sometimes a lot. This was mid Dec 2014.  After Christmas rates go up almost everywhere.  Priceline also had a $30 express deal, which might very well been this place too, but that also goes up after Christmas.

The hotel has a decent looking pool but I didnt use it. I had a view of it from my room, but many rooms do not get the view.  They put out a fair breakfast, no meat, egg, or yogurt  though.  The lady attending the breakfast area kept a good eye on it.
    Free wi fi worked well.

It is true the place is by no means perfect. The table in the corner gets little light. I did get  a few, only a few, of the mini roaches climb on the desk in a three night stay. I just squashed them. No reason to freak out.  This IS  Florida now, and many people eat in their rooms.  Id prefer an occasional bug to sleeping in toxic insecticide any day.

They have a free computer and printer in lobby. 20 min limit.  I was going to try and print a restaurant coupon but gave up as the thing is loaded with adware and spyware and I couldn't even get that done.

For what I paid, I was very satisfied.  I would say the place is great for bargain hunters but if your picky or high maintenance it might not be for you.  If I was to find It at this price again,  I  would stay there again.

This is not an upscale area,so you can start bids low if you are on priceline, and you can big again if you change your hotel category OR area of town. So you can add the high cost areas each time like Sanibel, Captiva, and get another bid. OR also add another star level and get another bid---this works in any city but only if you know the areas and are willing to stay In whatever area it might accept.
