nice room with fridge and microwave.  but service was bad.  housekeeping was poor.  dried urine spot on the toilet upon check-in.  also, drawers still had stuff from the prior guests (qtips, boarding pass, welcome kit).  11AM checkout.  I got a 12PM checkout.  Housekeeping still came at 11 very demanding.  I told them "not now" and they demanded what time i was leaving.  walls are very thin.  could hear somebody IM'ing or something at 5AM.  "Concierge" is a joke.  They gave the bellhop a desk in the corner with a couple pamphlets.  Don't walk to the boardwalk like they say.  It's more than a mile.  Probably mile and a half.  Took me almost 30 minutes to walk there, and i walk fast.  $14 for self park, $18 for valet.

My friends and I stayed here with a coupon (Groupon?  Lifebooker?  I don't remember.  It was a good stay for the price we got (about $90 per night, I believe), but the situation I encountered after checkout brought the rating WAY down.  

First the Good:
- The hotel was nice and the room was clean.  
- The beds were comfy and the sink is outside the bathroom (big plus for me when you are staying with other people).  
- The pool is warm and lovely with a bar outside.
- The restaurant staff and valet guys were nice.

The OK:
- The food at the restaurant was ok, but overpriced.
- The front desk staff was ok - not very receptive to friendly banter or slight criticism of the hotel (we complained about housekeeping - see below).  

The Bad:
- We checked in on a Friday.  On Saturday morning at 8am, housekeeping was knocking on our door to clean the room!  My friend got up and told her we were still sleeping and put the "do not disturb" sign out, but we could still hear the housekeeping staff's conversations and music!  They were not even trying to be quiet.  When we told the front desk that they might want to do housekeeping a little later in the day and the woman working the desk looked at us blankly and then responded like we were crazy for caring.

- We checked out on Sunday morning and headed to the airport.  Once there, I realized I had forgotten my phone and camera chargers.  I called the hotel and told them exactly where they were in the room and they told me they'd call me back within the hour to let me know if they were still there.  I told her that I was getting on a plane and asked (very nicely) for a speedy response.  45 minutes later I'm boarding the plane and call back to see if they had found my chargers.  I was told (VERY rudely) that they had not checked yet and it took a long time to get someone to go to the room.  She finally sent someone to look, told me they had been found and said they could mail them back to me through FedEx and that it would take 5-7 days.  No problem, thank you for your help, here's my credit card and shipping information.  To attempt to shorten an already long story:
1) They put the wrong name on the package which almost resulted in my not getting it at all.
2) They sent it NEXT DAY AIR, which cost $50 and I did NOT agree to that.  I agreed to ground shipping - hence the 5-7 days waiting time.
3) I called to ask for my money back and the staff at the desk AND the desk MANAGER were extremely rude!  I was told that they did not tell me it would take 5-7 days, that they did ME a favor by returning my objects with MY credit card and that they were not responsible.  No, I was not allowed to speak with any other supervisor.  

Note -

Before this, I was totally thinking about going back to this hotel, but when they told me that keeping $50 was more important than 3 happy customers who would return, more important than good reviews on Yelp and any other website, more important than good customer service, I could not believe it.  I will NEVER go back to this hotel or any other Crowne Plaza.  Sad, because I've been to the one in Philly and loved it.  

I know I'm not a VIP, but everyone deserves respect.  I definitely did not get it here.

Here's the deal...I just came back from a long December weekend with my wife. Got a great price. I have never been to Florida and I really had a great time (85 and sunny every day versus 10 and overcast in Chicago).

I would ignore any 1 and 2 star reviews, it deserves better, I would also ignore the five star reviews, it is not that good. 3/4 stars is accurate. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are nice and the service is totally adequate. I'm not convinced I would stay there again, as the location isn't perfect, but I wouldn't hesitate going back if I couldn't find something better.

I would strongly suggest renting a car as you will need to drive to get to anything worthwhile. The Valet is probably a better value for an extra $4 a night but make your own choice on that one.  

If you're a newbie, like I was, the location allows you to get to Ft. Lauderdale pretty quickly (think rich, older more suburban crowd), or to Miami's South Beach (think a mix of young, old, rich, beautiful, touristy, international, homeless and crazy with lots of fun places to go out.).

Based upon a previous stay at this location It appears that my confidential credit card data was fraudulently used for rooms that were not booked by me as well as an attempt to book over $2,000 of hotel services that was fortunately denied by my credit card firm. Since all fraud charges were limited to this Crowne Plaza  location and no other attempts or other fraudulent charges occurred on my credit card  beyond this location it leads me to believe that this location has internal problems that need to be addressed. Upon receiving an advance confirmation of the fraudulent booking, I advised reservations that I did not make a reservation, however, they continued to go forward and charge my account for rooms that were not booked by me. Thankfully, my credit card firm took the loss.  I had that added inconvenience of canceling my credit card because of this firms inability to properly address the situation. Guest Services and the hotel management were of no help in correcting the situation or providing an acceptable explanation.

Bam. Door slams. The room was clean, b, modern, bam, And The pool área is really nice for lounging. Bam. But!! Here's the but, BAM the doors slamming.  BAMBAMBAMBAMBAM all night long.  This hotel is nice but really needs to invest in door closing devices.  It was maddening.

This hotel is very nice. We stayed this past weekend and i have no complaints. The pool was very spacious, a little too warm, but relaxing otherwise. The beach is across the street, but the pool was enough for us. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Has a microwave and fridge. All rooms have a balcony, which is a plus in my book. Considering the hotel was packed, it was very quiet at night. Did not hear people in the hallways or loud talking from the pool area. Very relaxing hotel, will stay again for sure.

Great service,  room,  location,  pool,  and did I mention friendly service....particularly from the front desk and tiki bar. We had a terrific two day,  one night getaway from Miami.  Gorgeous pool setting and both Haulover and Hollywood beaches are 5 minutes away. They mentioned a shuttle but we had a car.  Only non awesome thing about the hotel was the buffet.  Just basic. But not bad for $16.  And an easy alternative would ahve been going to the 7/11 next store.

Spent three nights in the hotel over the Christmas holidays. Had my wallet and $400 stolen from my room. The hotel has lax security. No cameras on the floors, and one in the lobby that barely covers the front desk. The hotel referred the matter to their Insurance Co, who quickly dismissed it as my responsibility. I was then referred to guest relations who refused to consider my side of the story. "If we consider your story then it would be an admission of guilt", they said. There was never any discussion of trying to make it right or win back my loyalty. Not a free meal, nothing of that matter. It's too bad. I will never be staying there again.

If only I could travel to this hotel every weekend...it was just lovely!  Our room was modern and extremely clean.  It didn't feel like a hotel room one bit.  The staff was very friendly and made sure to help as best as they could.

The price was reasonable and the view of the ocean was also pretty great.  The fitness room was large and equipped with new machines which made for an enjoyable workout.

No vending machines though which was odd and somewhat annoying since the information guide stated that there weremachines on every floor.   No stars were deducted for this because the good night's sleep I had made up for it.

If you have other options I would avoid this property. Tough neighborhood after dark, police were checking loiters at convenience store next door. Staff at check-in did not wear name tags for good reason, you should not believe anything they tell you, rooms not quiet and they allow people to sit in hallways conducting business on computers outside of guest rooms. Rooms are not very clean and the cleaning staff does more yelling in the hallways then cleaning, most Holiday Inns are a better option than this facility. I don't think we got one straight answer why we were there, no surprise we will not return.

I'll keep it short and simple:

1. Incredibly comfortable beds
2. Friendly staff
3. Modern look and feel
4. Our room had a great view of the ocean
5. Bellman and valet parking guys (though I never used the vallet parking) were super friendly and eager to open your door.

1. Housekeeping houseskipped our room after the first night
2. Housekeeper barged into my room three times, looked around, apologized and walked out - within 10 mins
3. $18 for self parking. Really?
4. The "business center" is, in theory, supposed to allow you to print your boarding pass for free - not so much. The software they run on those computers is pretty crappy.
5. Slow internet connection in bedroom

(This is gonna be a long one but i'll try to make it concise)

From the outside, it may not look as swanky as some other hotels along Ocean Drive... but trust me, Don't judge this book by it's cover! !

Valet - although parking may be pricey (18 for overnight guests, 10 for visitors overnight and self park, and 5 to park your car yourself with no in and out privileges...) the service is awesome. They remember who you are, (although a huge family of 15 asians in 5 different rooms i'm sure doesn't happen everyday).

Bell Hop desk - they'll store your luggage for you, for days or hours as needed. and they helped us tape up some boxes, i was going to check in for the plane.

The pool - NIIICE. there are wrist bands for the daytime. view of the water where sailboats will ride on through, and the pool is a pretty infinity pool.

The food @ the pool - Wow... Y U M M Y ! ! !
BUFFALO WINGS - tasty! Just the right amount of crunch and spice, and comes with celery AND carrots, and there's about 10-12 of them for you to share.
CHICKEN FINGERS - on the kids menu, portion big enough for a girl, or 2 kids to eat.
CAJUN SHRIMP SALAD - light and fresh, and awesome shrimp yumminess.
FRENCH FRIES - yummy! They are of the preseasoned sort

and now the Rooms... Nice, relaxing uber plush beds. rooms come with mini fridge, microwave, and sink. So you can reheat your leftovers if you have any to bring back to the hotel.

the beach - it's actually ACROSS THE STREET from the hotel, so there's another hotel in between the CP and Hollywood beach. but there ARE chairs and umbrellas to rent from CP (you don't have to be a guest to utilize these rentals).

This place is worth checking out! you should checkout prices online, they seem to be cheaper. and if you book 3 nights you get the 4th night free.

Nice location, close to restaurants, golf and especially the beach.  We stayed here a few times before.
Beds are clean but the carpet and windows need a clean up. Balcony windows are very dirty. Carpet in the rooms should be changed.  When we left, they were changing all the TVs on our floor.
We had reserved a corner room facing the water canal.  When we got their at 2:30 pm, our room wasn't ready yet and the people were still in the room.  Management weren't doing anything to kick them out saying they were CP members which are allowed for late check-out (2 pm).  We were staying for 10 nights.
Overall, it is fair but not overrated but management could do more. They were all booked so why should they force themselves.

We used Priceline at the last minute to get our hotel rooms at this great location.  

The Superb:  Fully renovated interiors.  Phenomenal bed.  Seriously, the rooms were gorgeous.  The infinity pool is also beautiful.

The Average:  The building is older, but as I mentioned, it has been renovated.  The front desk staff was helpful, but I felt they weren't exactly sure what they were doing.  The prices for sub-par drinks at the "Tiki" bar were a bit ridiculous.

The hotel was clean and the decor was modern and comfortable. The room was very nice and beds were comfortable. The pool was pleasant, a good temperature, and had a nice view of the canal and boats going by. Brunch at the hotel restaurant was good, tho a little overpriced and they didn't really have any options for substituting ingredients.

Also, it's pretty convenient to the beach (across the street and about a block's walk), but the folks at the hotel never mentioned if we had use of the chairs and umbrellas with the hotel's name on them; we discovered this during our walk on the beach on the last day.

For the bulk of our stay our biggest complaint was that the staff was pretty cold; not overly unfriendly, but not really interested in making much of an effort either. The front desk staff seemed bothered by us whenever we asked for anything, and the cleaning staff was really noisy in the hallways... and when we mentioned this to the front desk staff they weren't really interested. The only person who really made a good impression was whoever picked up the concierge line and helped us find a place to go for dinner one night.

Even so, I would've given a higher rating if not for how it ended. More details in Amy S's review. Short version is that we left something behind and the staff at the hotel was less than motivated to assist us and make us feel like they cared about any repeat business. We both had cause to call the management at the hotel in the week after we stayed and were met with so much attitude. I know that they're trying to remake themselves to drum up business, but they need to figure out that the littlest courtesies like being friendly and helpful go a really long way.

WOW! right across the street from the beach
GREAT prices

you have the inter-coastal one 1 side and the beach on another.... 5mins walking from Walmart, 7/11 next door!  

pool is A-MAZING!  huge, great for kids and adults... they give you towels if u need it!

TIKI BAR!  drinks are around 10bucks+

I live 5mins away, i was there for a friends party

and i felt like i was on vacation

i already went back the weekend after cause i missed the pool

The hotel looks nice and the pool is beautiful. But that is where it ends. The walls are SUPER thin - you can hear everything. I was also munched on by bed bugs for 3 nights in July 2012 when I stayed here. It's gross, but not the end of the world - I emailed the hotel to let them know and see what they'd be willing to do to make it up to me.

The answer? Nothing. I spent 2 or 3 days waiting for an initial response and when I did it was cold and uncaring - no apology. I was told they'd be in touch in 24 hours. Five days later, I emailed the corporate office asking what the deal was. They sent the inquiry back to the Hollywood branch. I was contacted 2 more days later by someone on the staff in Florida. She left me a message in the middle of the work day - when I returned it later that night there was no response. She tried to reach me one more time, again during my work day, and has now given up. I have not heard a thing in over a week again.

It isn't so much the bed bugs that put me off from Crowne Plaza and this chain (which also owns the Holiday Inn hotels) - it is the lack of concern or any discernible customer service protocols around this situation that have cemented by decision to NEVER stay at a Crowne Plaza or Holiday Inn hotel again. All it would have taken was a little attention to my problem, but apparently they are too busy to take care of customers once you've left the hotel.

I handle the IT at my company, where I am one of the principals. The hotel was decent, but the business center was so bad, it took me over an hour on their dial up Internet computers to try to print my boarding pass, which I never succeeded at doing after their system kicked me off twice due to an outdated "security ticket" on their computers.


I then  went  to the front desk, who used the same system to print my passes which took another 20 minutes.  Unfortunately, This experience, on my way out of the hotel, has left such a bad taste in my mouth, that I will more than likely never stay here again.  

Not for nothing, but It is also probably important to note that I am a brand new yelp user. I signed up for yelp just so I could write this review. That's how infuriating and frustrating this experience was, and I know that the 2 other guests that were in there before me would co-sign this review based on the grumbling and moaning that I heard from them upon entering the business center.

I could have saved an hour plus of wasted time, had I had the foresight to heed their warnings.

I missed most of the 2nd morning, and some of the afternoon of an event we were sponsoring at the Westin diplomat golf course because of this.

My advice, make sure you check in at the airport so you don't have to go through the ordeal I did.

If it weren't for the business center I would have given this hotel a 3 star review. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the valets were expedient.

Come on guys, stop stepping over a dollar to get a dime, spend the money and buy some updated computers and Internet that isn't like taking into a tin can through a string.

The only silver lining here was that I wasn't running late for my flight, otherwise this review wouldn't have been so cogent and free from capital letters, curses and exclamation points.

We stayed here from Sep 10th-12th.
I liked their clean room, nice decoration, comfortable bed, amazing pool and it was really closed to the beach. (Their beach was so quiet. I liked their beach more than Miami beach too).

I agree with previous reviewer about the stuff at the front desk. They are not rude but they are not friendly. They are polite but ... yeah I'd say they are kinda "cold" too.. probably they hate their jobs. We weren't pleased to talk to. The lady at the store (where you can buy snacks) was pretty friendly and easy to talk to. I thought that she should be at the front desk in stead. We were new to Miami but with her help and advice, we really had a great time.

Oh we also thought  that $15 self parking fee per day was a rip off. Their parking lot has no roof and wasn't fancy at all. I believe it was $18 for valet parking.  I think it's too expensive.

There are so many hotels around this area so I don't think this hotel will be my first choice at my next visit to Hollywood unless they change their parking fee.

This hotel has great views of the inlet and has a huge pool. The pool has a tiki bar and the guys at the bar are super friendly and offer fast service. Their food was pretty good too; I had a blackened mahi sandwich with aioli sauce that was very good. Also this hotel it's only across the street from the beach, which was very convenient. Some of the not so good things about it are; the beds are not the most comfortable ones but the room was clean and it had a balcony and I loved sitting there while drinking a glass of wine. The towels were so rough, they literally hurt my skin but maybe the fact that I was sunburn didn't help. One thing that I absolutely hated about this hotel was the fact that all of their vending machines were not working. I went up and down the floors for 30 mins trying to find a working vending machine to finally give up and call front desk and ask for a bottle of water for which I paid entirely too much. They do charge you for parking but they give you the choice of parking yourself or paying even more for valet.
Overall I had a good time at this hotel. I think the pool and the views made up for all of the other stuff.

Our time at this hotel was a wonderful experience overall! The valet was always on top of things, concierge was extremely helpful and everybody had a great presence.
The hotel itself felt a bit dated in the hallways and rooms. Dirty carpets from perpetual use, the doors to the rooms, at least ours, had no seal at the bottom so the light from the hallway shines in and reflects off the tile floor all night long. Lastly, the Internet is actually very slow. It may be because everybody is using it constantly, but i feel that when you can even execute a general google search in under 20 seconds it ceases to be "high speed" Internet. That should definitely be upgraded given the influx in mobile devices.
Overall, this is a great place to stay and the issues are easily overlooked.
I still do recommend it to anyone

I wanted to take a moment and thank the wonderful people at the Crowne Plaza hotel Hollywood beach. My stay was ultra comfortable and surpassed every expectation and I can't thank everyone enough for making this a memorable stay. Upon my arrival after having received treatment for a leg injury at the aventura hospital, the front desk staff was extremely accommodating, and Allen took care of every detail. I also had several phone calls throughout my stay to ensure I was comfortable. The gentlemen at the front door always greeted me and helped me with a wheelchair while I was in recovery. The person that I'd like to mention and give the most thanks to, however,  is SANDRA D of room service. She really and truly went above and beyond  every night of my stay as I ordered meals to take my medications. She would help to set me up each meal, helping me with my wheelchair and pillows, and on more than one occasion spent a few minutes asking me how I was feeling and if I needed anything. She was a major factor of comforting my stay and made me feel right at home. She is extremely caring and warm, and more then an employees she made me feel like a friend. She has a great warm, personality and I can. It thank her enough for her utmost care and outstanding customer experience. Thank you all and I would highly recommend this hotel and visit again.

Crowne Plaza is great and esp for ur money. I got a great room facing the intercoastal bay. The balcony was large, and the room was remodeled and very spacious. Modern and sleek and the fridge was great and convient for me.

There is a nice pool in the pool with a nice view of the bay and a small bar. Theres also a 711 next store. We went to porter house for dinner in sunny isles which is a 5 min ride. Also theres a nice drive through golden beach a very wealthy beach town. At night theres a nice place called gulf stream casino and race track. theres lots of places to eat, casino bars and shops. very upscale. The crown is nice i would say its more for families and business trips....not someone looking to party with lots of younger people.

I would recommend but I want to try the westin diplomat next time around.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel during our short get-away this week and we absolutely loved it.
Great, friendly stuff, spacious room with contemporary design, kitchen in the room and a big balcony. The beds are very nice. The best thing about this place is that it's located right across the beach and has a huge swimming pool/bar area, so that if the weather is not so great for swimming, you can stay at the pool that overlooks canal. It's an awesome place and great price for the value.
It's 20 minutes walk though to the boardwalk, but we didn't mind walking.

Stayed here for a week on vacation with the BF. Overall good hotel hotel.

- professional staff
- contemporary rooms with kitchenette and balcony
- cleaning staff is pleasant, professional, and does a great job; room was always spotless
- great amenities: fitness center, hot tub, AMAZING POOL, poolside tiki bar, restaurant/bar with outdoor seating
- great location across from the beach and on the intracostal. accessible easily from Ft. Lauderdale airport, trolley and water taxi stop right at this hotel. no airport shuttle but short cab ride.
- members of their rewards program get free late checkout, btw. it's free to join.
- wal-mart and 7-eleven in close proximetry to stock up the kitchenette!

- repeatedly tried to watch movies that would just stop working in the middle, saying "lost signal." They did however take off the charge (twice).
- uncomfortable beds (mattress & linens)
- agree that front desk staff, while polite, is cold and obviously doesnt particularly care beyond doing the beyond the minimum. concierge is pretty unhelpful.
- hot tub broken 2 days
- far from south beach (20-30min 1-way, $40-60 1-way)

All in all, we had a great stay and were quite comfortable, since all we cared about was the relaxing beach right across the street and the great pool/hot tub/tiki bar. If we return to the area, this will be my first choice and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

P.S. I second that Nacho is a great bartender, as is Orlando :)

We loved this place so much we came back a year later - both times to celebrate my birthday. Also knew it was meant to be when Travelzoo posted a special rate even better than last year's :) Almost everything about our experience was as great as last year ... except for the swimming pool temperature :(

One of the great "surprise & delight" features last year was the warm temperature of the pool during the winter months, esp. great b/c my parents love swimming early in the morning when it's still on the cool side - Dad loved the pool so much he wanted to come back for Christmas break. But this year, the water was cold during our entire 3-night stay. On the first day, after we already finished swimming, I let the reception staff know the pool was cold and they said they'd look into it. On the second day, the pool was sadly still cold. I asked the reception desk again and they said to wait for another 30 minutes and it would be warm. I went back that afternoon to check on the temperature and it was still cold :( By that time I gave up b/c we would be flying back the next day anyway.

Other than that, we loved our stay. Service was great - loved seeing the same friendly concierge man as last year. Also loved our sweet cleaning lady on the 10th floor. My dad asked if she could clean our room while we went to the pool and both times, our room was clean when we got back - liked that they use dedicated staff. By the way, the tropical rain showerheads are awesome! I think I would've been happy just spending my vacation in that shower! :)

I loved this hotel! The pool, rooms and restaurants are all fantastic. We stayed at the fountain bluea prior to staying here. The service was comparable. 19 dollars a day for Valet isn't Great, but it is better than 38 like many hotels.

This is a truly beautiful place to stay. The rooms are gorgeous, modern and clean. The pool area is fantastic and worthy of some serious relaxation time. Nice hotel - you can fill in the blanks.

Here's the reason for 4 and not 5 stars:

- the maids were super noisy in the middle of the day. I was trying to take a nap and they were talking, banging around and playing music in the hall just outside my room. I went into the hallway and placed my "Privacy Please" sign and cleared my throat, but they took very little notice. This place is pricey and the staff's behavior should reflect that.

- the valet desk could never be reached by phone. For the hassle it was worth and a couple of surly valets, I think next time I would just park myself

- I wish breakfast was included. It is not a cheap stay, so at least give me some juice and toast.

My boyfriend was doing a job at the westin diplomat down the block.  I had to spend one night there before my reservation was sceduled for the Crowne.  
The difference between the two hotels was night and day!!!!! The westin may be bigger more expensive etc.....  I would choose the Crowne given the choice every time.  The staff was attentive to my every need.  The rooms had an efficiency type kitchen with microwave.  The didnt provide plates or silverware buy a quick call to room service and within minutes they will bring whatever you need.

Didnt try any of the restaurants. Cant comment on the food but what I did order from room service was quite good.  As with any hotel of this caliber room service, food, and drink prices crazy high as in hotels in this category.
The hotel itself doesnt look lke anything special but the rooms are beautiful and ver nicely decorated as is the lobby.  They have a lovely coffee shop in lobby the serves starbucks coffee and fresh baked goods daily.  

Then there is the best featur this hotel has to offer, its pool area.  Most people prefer the hotels on the other side of the street on the beach I am not one oof them.  The Crowne has a beautiful view of the intercoastal waterway.  Their pool is very t large and shaped in such a way that it is large and you can get sun all day.  They have beautiful sections of palms surrounded by tropical plants and bushes in various places all around the pool area.  This serves to make the pool look like a tropical paradise but what they dont advertise is that is in most of the areas of vegitation there are outlets.  To plug in cell phones laptops whatever you need to charge you can.  This is a detail lacking in almost ALL the high end hotels I have stayed in.  They have water available at the pool for hotel guests and a full bar and outdoor resturant overlooking both the pool and waterway.  Part of the pool has an interesting feature where the pool actually doesnt have a wall but it is almost like you can walk into the pool like you would walk into the ocean on a slope until you get to the deeper part of the water and can walk out of the pool from the same slope is gets more shallow as you walk out and when people are swimming there are small wavesas the slope comes up y o the pool deck.  It is really shallow a good place for kids to swim if you have then.  There was also a nice hot tub/jacuzzi surrounded by vegitation it was very pretty but the water could have and should have been hotter.

My favorite part about the crowne during my visit was how peaceful and quiet the pool area was while there.  The few children there were well managed by parents as to not disturb other guests.  I had no problem finding a chair by the pool no matter how early or late I went down.   My boyfriend was working during the days so a quiet relaxing day by the pool was what the doctor ordered.

We got a fantastic rate almost half the normal rate for thecstay on hotwire which just made it better. View from my window wasnt stellar but not the most important thing on my list of priorities.  

Would absolutely go back and stay again.   Prefer this hotel over the Westin hands down.  In fact we are planning a quick trip to Hollywood thankgiving week and will definately be booking our room there.

Highly recommend this hotel.

While our room was quite nice, many other aspects detracted from our stay (7days). One, the electricity in our room would completely go off for 10 minute periods on average 4 times a day. Two, while they offered free Internet, the wireless was incredibly slow, so much so that I mostly relied on my data network instead. Three, the front desk staff was fairly hit or miss; sometimes they were very accommodating while other times they were downright rude. My husband and I were here as part of a convention going on at the Westin Diplomat. All I have to say is that next time we are attending we are DEFINITELY making sure to stay there. The pools, rooms, service, and restaurants are ten times better than this hotel, without even considering that the Westin is actually on the beach.

Just a completely enjoyable stay.   Immaculate hotel, outstanding food,  but best of all was the outstanding customer service.  From housekeeping and concierge,  and most especially Sandra Deen...our room service server...sensational!!!!  She couldn't do enough for us. She is a wonderfully delightful woman who made our stay here much better...five ***** to Sandra!!!

Needing a little break from the winter doldrums and having friends to visit in Florida, We decided on a long getaway weekend. Having caught the first flight out, we arrived at the Crowne Plaza way ahead of the four pm check-in time. This did not seem to bother the desk personnel, who were very friendly and willing to accommodate our early arrival. They explained that there was, indeed, a room ready and also upgraded our room to the eighth floor. The Crowne offers both valet parking as well as an all inclusive in and out parking for seventeen dollars a day. This was nice as we never had an exact plan and came and went many times during the day. All of the personnel were very eager to help and were always smiling.
After getting out of our travel clothes, we decided on going to the pool area for a cocktail and a light lunch. The bartender was very nice and wasted no time in getting us our drinks- now we are "officially" on vacation. The food we ordered came out in average time and although the bar didnt have Belvedere vodka, our drinks were good, nonetheless. The food was pretty good, considering we were out sitting near the pool at a tiki bar. The grouper sandwich was a bit dry but tasty and the club sandwich was good as well. Also, we had hummus flat bread and that was very good- by far the best of the food we ordered.
The real magic of the hotel, however, is the pool area. the infinity pool looks over the inter-coastal waterway and the views are great- a nice draw bridge to see and plenty of palm trees to have shade when u want it. Also, right from the pool, you can take the water taxi to many locations around town. Great service to have if you want to do some drinking and don't want to have to drive or have to designate a driver. Door to door service and fun for all.
The room was clean and large enough for us. The usual desk and dresser with a chair to relax in. One of the better features was the larger refrigerator and the microwave. Seven Eleven was right next door so having some beer on hand was a nice treat. The maid service was very good and they all seemed very friendly. All in all, this was a very enjoyable trip and the accommodations were really very good and when we make our way back down, I'm sure it will be on our list of places to stay- and would certainly recommend it to any of our friends.

Dirty room with last guest's garbage left on the floor.  Curly hair balls behind the bathroom door, and the morning after at the pool looks like a garbage bag was let loose.  Poor upkeep, management, and not very forward thinking.  They close the coffee and amenity shop at 8 (they said the manager insists) and you cannot buy anything from the hotel - they send you to the 7-Eleven next door.  Great business sense if the manager of the Crowne owns the gas station.  Poor showing for a Hilton property.  They have location on their side, but not guest relations.

OK hotel.  Not that many in the area other than the Diplomat.  The hotel is NOT beachside, just intercoastal.  The pool faces and ends at the intercoastal.  Ok pool and luke warm jacuzzi was meh.  Room was nice and as expected for a Crown Plaza.  I will try Diplomat next time.

Crowne Plaza is really the best there is, the location is my only drawback especially having construction going on across the road but the hotel itself is perfect the pool is amazing, the free breakfast was a cut above the rest the room was very clean and I paid less than $150/night for such a beautiful hotel. This was the hotel I got engaged at and even when I was checking in the staff upgraded my room to a room with two balconies, I love this place and if I'm ever considering a little get away they'll be at the top of my list.

Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach is a great hotel to stay in. This was my second stay only because I was given the room I requested which is facing west with the intercostal and pool view. Crowne Plaza has the largest resort style pool in all Hollywood Fl. The pool side service is a plus. Our waitress Evelyn was nice to us and also Allen at the front desk was very helpful.

The drinks and food at the tiki bar is okay. The restaurant is very over rated and expensive. Miami Beach is a 25min ride. There are other high end hotels in the area that i would love to stay in that have more amenities but for what we paid and having the beach just across the street worth every dollar. You have to drive a few miles to get to eat and party.  There is a Casino about 3 moles from Crowne Plaza pretty cool place.  If your planning a quick last minute get away great place for the money. week stay was about $700.00 for 2 with king size bed,but we booked about 2months in advance.

The pool area is really nice. I had great service from the staff at the pool as well.

What wasn't so great was:
My room had a view of the parking lot and a construction site. There was a constant knocking noise above me all day/night. Don't know if it was the pipes, air conditioning or what. Ice machine on my floor didn't work nor did it work on the floor below me. Had problems with the room key and the lock.

Wow! What a great experience I had here September 27-29 2013. ( Recc. Fly into Ft Lauderdale airport)
The hotel is beautiful, the pool is breathtaking! The service is very good, the workers are friendly. Check in time is at 4 pm but we arrived very early and because there was a room available they let us check in 5 hours early !!! If you had to wait, bring your bags to the pool and relax, plenty of shade from the millions of Palm trees!! I loved my bartender at the tiki bar Allen! They had a musician play the steel drum Friday and Saturday. The beach is just across the street (this hotel is not beachfront). All rooms have balconies but you cannot smoke on them. The bed was very cozy and room big and wet bar with fridge micro coffee maker cabinets. Beautiful boats drive by the pool on the inlet and a drawbridge lets the huge ones pass by. The pool is the main feature. At night colored lights come on inside the pool. The chef at the hotel is very skilled. I highly recommend the Mahi Mahi sandwich because it melts in your mouth, and the hummus appetizer is a very generous portion size with wedges of fresh warm pita bread. The salmon salad is very satisfying and filling; there are strawberries and candied pecans in there too!  The Broadwalk is the shopping and eatery beach walk. You will find good prices on souvenirs, food, snacks, cigarettes, alcohol, Spumoni ice cream! You just take the dollar shuttle / trolley (you must have exact change) most of the exterior workers are not as friendly as the hotel staff so keep expectations low. Most people speak Spanish there so be aware. There is a 711 next door to this hotel but it's hidden by Palm trees! Go exploring!! When I was there I didn't have a car but you can walk across the bridge to the shopping center for a variety of ethnic foods, or take the trolley downtown. This is a great hotel to chill!

After doing our research on hotels in the Hollywood, FL. area, my husband, teen son and I, determined that the Crowns Plaza looked like a really nice place based on what the photo gallery & description indicated. As we were checking in, there was another couple next to us complaining to the front desk that the website was deceiving--that what you got was not what you saw on the site and said they were very unhappy. Of course, this made me think that this couple was simply grumpy. However, when we entered the room, I totally understood them. The bathroom sink next to one of the double beds was weird to us, made even odder that they put a half sheer curtain as a divider--for what? A pretend half wall? For pretend privacy? The beds are not big enough for two adults to sleep comfortably, unless you both sleep on your sides and stay that way the whole night! My son had his own bed, but, his mattress was sagging in the middle and loudly squeaked every time he moved. For as much as we paid and how the website showed it, we were so disappointed. We discussed our concerns with the front desk who said sorry, but, other than a room with one king size bed for the three of us, there is nothing, else they could do about it & had me talk to the manager who not only said the same thing, but, said I could go to hotels.com and find another hotel! I've never complained about hotels before, but, THIS was not a good experience for us at all. I would NOT recommend this place especially for as much as it cost!!! We stayed at a Best Western a month ago in the Mojave Desert and had MUCH better accommodations with superb customer service, for half the price, AND I could brush my teeth and blow dry my hair privately!!!

Typically my reviews are written after I have stayed at a hotel or after I have dined at a restaurant. This is the exception as the customer service in this hotel stinks worse than week old Florida roadkill in August. We were in Fort Lauderdale after getting off a cruise ship and were exhausted from our trip. We decided to book a room at a hotel rather than make the drive home while tired. We checked in to the hotel room around noon and were looking forward to an afternoon of sleep. Immediately upon entering our room, we noticed hammering from construction somewhere on the floor above us. We contacted the front desk and were apologized to and we were assured the hammering would soon stop. While this was true, the hammering was soon replaced by the constant sound of a hammer drill or jack hammer. Again we contacted the front desk about the noise and told them we were trying to sleep. Again an apology was offered and we were assured there was soon to be an end to the noise. Fast forward to 2 PM and the hammer drilling hasn't stopped! Upon contacting the front desk again, we were told they were almost finished with the "repair" and again offered 20 minutes as the completion time. After 20 minutes, I called back and to my surprise and dismay, they quit answering my calls at the front desk. At this time my girlfriend went to the front desk to handle this in person and we were told they could do nothing for us. On a second in person visit with the manager we finally were moved to another room well above the "20 minute repair" that lasted 2 and a half hours or maybe longer. The manager of this hotel needs some serious schooling on what customer service in an alleged 4-Star hotel. This will likely be my last experience with this hotel chain if this is how they treat their guests.

We were at the Crowne Plaza 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. From the moment we checked in we experienced superior customer service. The room was clean, modern and spacious. The food was great and every staff member was truly amazing. The pool area and tiki bar was FABULOUS! Evelyn makes the best Mojitos we have ever had. We can't wait to come back to this property. Hats off to the staff and management!

Marginal place by any standards. The housekeepers are obnoxious starting very early in the morning. Anytime of day would be uncalled for at the volume they operate.
Staff seems highly disorganized. Simple tasks seemed hard for them. Changed WiFi password and instead of letting everyone in on the change, you had to seek them out.

The rooms are decently appointed. Care seems low, again from housekeeping and/or maintenance. Water damage from AC was evident in my room.

Food and drink were great. Ribeye was perfect and sides were amazing. Bar staff are friendly and ready to help.

Won't be back...Westin Diplomat is much better.

Just finished my stay at the Crowne Plaza and to be honest the hotel is very nice and the staff was friendly. The room was very nice, I like the modern look. The pool was great as well. That being said I do have a couple of complaints. I did my reservation as a prepaid reservation meaning you pay everything upfront. When I get to the hotel the person at the front desk asked me for my ID and a credit card to verify my ID, fine no problem. Then that person swiped my credit card as if he charged me for something. I asked politely what he was doing and he told me it was hotel procedure.  I had a blank look on my face....later that night I noticed a $100 charge on my card so of course I wanted to go down to the front desk and ask what it was but of course it's those stupid, non sense, criminal hotel hidden fees so I emailed corporate not because I want my money back just because I wanted to know why that person couldn't just tell me what the charge was for. I'm the customer I don't need to be asking anything as good customer service as I know working for a bank they need to be upfront about everything but of course it's all about the money. Anyways besides that BAM! Sorry that was a Baaam! Sorry I got distracted by these slamming doors all day and all night! It's quite annoying when you trying to sleep. Also I'm happy that the house keepers love there job so much but please I wish they would be respectful to the people that are paying them while there sleeping. 6AM and I can hear them talk and sing and btw slamming doors. Depending on how it goes with my email about the charge will make me decide on going back but that probably won't happen because hotels want MONEY!!! Just spend a-little more and stay at the west diplomat a couple blocks down.

Loved every single minute of it. My wife and I came here for a long relaxing weekend and we got it. The hotel was great. It was clean and relaxed. The staff was completely amazing and super friendly as well as attentive. Daniel at the tiki bar by the pool is one righteous dude. Frank on the night crew also held it down hardcore. The breakfast crew is great. We had nothing but great service and great food. The pool is fantastic. The beach is right there. You can't really ask for anything more. There's also a 7-11 next door that has all you need for an after hours party and their staff is super friendly. There's pizza a block away. You're in good hands. We WILL be coming back and with friends who love to party in a safe and sexy manner.  (My wife says that last part is creepy but she knew what she was in for when she married me)

Mediocre quality with a hefty price. Booked this hotel last minute through Expedia. We initially tried booking through Crowne Plaza's website, which quoted about $150 a night. We ended up saving about $20 by booking through Expedia. Admittedly, we had high expectations based on the price and photos of the hotel on their website. Upon checking in, we asked for a room with a view. We received a view... of a parking lot. We weren't too worried about the view, as we planned on relaxing by the pool anyway. Sadly, the pool was also disappointing. We had every intention of spending our afternoon sipping pricey drinks by the pool, and enjoying ourselves. Unfortunately, the cocktail waitress had other plans. Although we observed her helping other patrons, over the course of 3 hours, she never approached us a single time. As a result, we ordered our drinks from the bar. After a night out on the town, we returned to the hotel,
and decided to have a few drinks at the restaurant bar. Sadly, we took one look at it and decided to call it an early night instead. It resembled more of a retirement home cafeteria than a bar. As far as redeeming traits go: free wifi, location close to beach, and mostly friendly staff.

Beautiful, clean hotel right across the street from a stunning beach. This was a last minute pick, and I couldn't have been happier with how our stay turned out. The beds are heavenly, the shower is clean and spacious, and each room offers a balcony. They also had a 24 hour fitness center which I appreciate. The only negative was some mysterious stains on the carpet and upholstery that should be easy enough to clean up. Overall, though, this place was a treat and I can't wait to stay again.

We stayed here this weekend and it was fantastic.Customer service was outstanding and the hotel is super clean.This is what a hotel should be like.The pool area was great and very big.The only thing I have to recommend is that they add an omelet bar and more variety for their breakfast buffet.I felt like what they had to offer was not worth the price.I would stay here again!

This is one of the worst hotel experiences ever and for the price, it should be much more. First, the staff's ability to communicate is subpar. Check-in time is late 4:30pm and we called several times to inquire about early check-in and we were told, "We can't make any promises." That's fine - a simple yes or no will suffice. How is that in any way an answer to the question?

So, we finally check-in and then plan to sleep in on Friday morning. We hear what sounds like drilling outside our room on the top floor beginning at 8am or so and continues for the next two hours at least. We are told they are washing windows and 1) will not be stopping and 2) we cannot receive any type of discount for our inconvenience. We travel to South Florida frequently and we won't be going back to this hotel. Location was awesome but there appeared to be plenty of other options nearby.

This place is fantastic!  It smells like vanilla all the time, the staff is awesome and it's great for kids. My sister and I stayed for 3 nights at a reasonable price.  The hotel is conveniently located near Hallandale Beach,  Wal Mart and the Intercostal Highway!  They have great activities for kids and family fun from live music, tiki bar, water taxi rides, trolley tour of the city, movie night and more.

We truly enjoyed being placed on the "quite"floor for those without kids and large groups! The restaurant had great breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I would recommend this great hotel to anyone planning to visit Hollywood, FL with or without your kids. It is locates outside of South Beach for those wanting to see Miami's finest!

I tried to write a review on expedia last year after staying at crown plaza . The corner room with double balcony overlooking the pool and inter coastal was really nice except we had to kill cockroaches every day . The final blow was on the last day there was two in the shower. I told the front desk three separate times and they looked at me like I was crazy.my wife and I would never go back. The hotel has such a great location but they should totally fumigate the entire complex .

Marginal?  Are you staying at the Ritz?  LOL

This joint is fantastic.  The only negative would be that is it not on the beach side of A1A, and even with beach access, doesn't offer a beach view if that was what you were looking for.  The entire place is very fancy.  The staff is uber friendly and willing to assist you in whatever way they can.  The waiting area in the lobby is very well designed with extremely comfortable chairs and a winning atmosphere- I do love a good falling water front facade.  

The rooms are spacious and clean.  Being a seasoned travelor I can tell you that this place is one of the cleanest and well maintained properties.  Everything is up-to-date and luxury.  The pool is nice, the hot tub is better.

Funny story about the Crowne:  I put this on my wedding website as a viable option for my guests.  Obv I was ridiculously excited about the big event, and spent tons of time preparing Out-of-Town gift bags.  I went to the front desk, excited to drop one off for my cousin Larry- The person at the front desk was extremely friendly and very nicely explained that they did not have a Larry so-and-so, but that there was a Lauren.  Perplexed- I didn't really know what to do.  I had not been informed of a +1.  I had some extra bags in case something was awry- and I left it for whomever Lauren was.  Come to find out- Larry's real name is Lauren- who knew?!  (OK- Perhaps not such a funny story)...

In terms of the hotel. It is gorgeous!   From the facade to the bathrooms, everything about this hotel is immaculate and artfully decorated.  My guests talking about how much they loved this hotel, so my cousin listed it on her wedding website as well a couple months later.  One thing that my cousin requested was for her bridesmaids to come and stay with her the night before the wedding so that we could keep her company as well as be with her during a special pre-wedding ceremony.  I of course obliged, I was very interested in seeing what the rooms were like.  

I would say that the style and comfort of the suite is on par with the Westin across the street.  The difference that I noticed is that the bathtub is not in the middle of the room like the Westin, but I would say this is a bonus.  The hotel is not directly on the ocean but does have its own ocean access across the street.  

I take off one star because my cousin explained to the concierge that the first night she was staying there was going to be with her bridesmaids and the second was going to be with her new husband... when we opened the door, there as a bottle of champagne on ice and a tray of chocolate covered strawberries with a card for the newly weds.  It made for a nice pre-wedding celebration, but they did not give her a second bottle of champagne the following night. heehee

I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was great! I was pleasantly surprised because the outside of the hotel did not look appealing. The staff were friendly and the concierge went above and beyond to help us with our stay. The pool was very nice although it was too cold for us to go in. The hotel and rooms were clean and modern. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star rating was because it was not on the beach as I had expected from the hotel name. I should've done my own research.

I stayed here as an overflow option for a conference I was attending at the Westin Diplomat hotel.  I paid $219 a night before taxes, fees, and parking charges.  I stayed in what I believed was called an "executive king" room which meant it was on a higher floor (floor 10) than other king rooms.  The first thing I noticed when I walked in was what I thought was trash on the floor.  It turned out to be a sizable chip in the tile floor.  There were a few hairs in the corners of the sink, but overall the room was pretty clean and large.  My room looked out over the self park lot, and I had a view of the ocean and the inter-coastal from my balcony.

Check-in was a very slow process, but part of that was because I had had to book five rooms under my name.  Their system apparently isn't able to accommodate that easily, but we eventually got through the process.

The lobby is pretty dated although you can tell that it has recently been renovated.  The public restrooms seemed to be the focus of the most recent renovations, but the faucets they chose are not appropriate for the vessel sinks, and there is barely room to wash your hands under the faucet.

As I said, the room was large, but the layout was a bit odd with the sink and vanity outside of the room housing the toilet and shower.  I can see some practicality to this layout, but the sink is just kind of there in the middle of the room with a small lacy curtain hanging on the wall as some sort of visual separator.

One of my bedside lamps worked intermittently and would sometimes come on hours after i had pressed the switch (there was no timer, i looked...)

There is a walkway to the beach just across the street which was nicely done and is lighted at night.

Had I paid about $100 less per night than I did, I probably wouldn't have thought much about these things, but since the price was only slightly less than the MUCH nicer hotel where the conference was held, I felt that it was grossly overpriced.

If you're looking for a place to crash and plan on spending most of your time at the beach, this may be a good alternative if you're able to get a better price than I did.

My nine day stay in Hollywood Beach Crowne Plaza was the worst 9 day vacation of my life. You would think for the outragous hotel prices you could of at least received decent hotel service. ool. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more and go someplace nice!

There are no laundry facilities at this hotel and if customers want to wash their clothes they have to venture out in sketchy neighborhoods. I also found the full-sized beds to be quite uncomfortable. Perhaps management should invest in mattress pads. There parking garage also has a tree limb growing over the road. I am not sure how customers are suppose to park on the top parking garage without scratching their vehicles. My room also provided a great view of the parking lot for the adjacent hotel.

After a less-than-pleasant experience using Airbnb (this may not be entirely indicative of the great experiences that others have had), I had to leave and find another lodging option with no lead time. No problems when you use Hotwire and Priceline, as I was able to land a King suite at the Crowne Plaza in Hallandale Beach for an amazing price.

The suite I stayed in was probably one of the most comfortable that I have had in my travels (considering that I don't stay at the Ritz-Carlton or the Mandarin Oriental--just want to set reasonable expectations here). The front desk staff was kind and welcoming when I checked in and out. I admit that I did not interact much with the people in the hotel nor did I use the amenities. The room was just a place to sleep, but what a nice place to lay your head. The bed was comfortable, with the typical flatscreen TV and nice furniture (bedside tables and desk). The fridge and sink were set off to the side, which was nice, as it gave the room some division. The bathroom sink outside the bathroom with a translucent curtain to separate it from the sleeping area. Nice standup shower area with glass doors, which is more convenient than stepping over a bathtub. The balcony has a small table and 2 chairs for an oceanside lunch or just some good reads with the breeze of the Atlantic blowing over you.

Know that you have to pay parking, either valet or self-parking. While I know this is not really a "fault," it did increase the cost of staying here. Know that you are right on A1A and can see the ocean, depending on which room you get.

I would not hesitate to stay here again when I visit South Florida in the future. I like that Hollywood/Hallandale Beaches are about halfway between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, making it easy to go to either place from the hotel. I believe that staying in this area is less expensive than the aforementioned cities, which are bigger and attract more tourists.

For a reasonably priced resort, this exceeded expectations. My family and I left this morning after a 5-night stay at this gem. From the moment we arrived in the sweetly- scented lobby, my daughters and I loved the place. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the decor was very nice and hip. Our rooms were clean and we loved the large balcony. The pool area was fun! The tiki bar and food service was good (we loved the waiter Serge!) and reasonably priced. Truly we have not a single complaint! Nothing but fun, sun and friendly faces at the Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach Resort. We will be back and will recommend to friends and family too!

No. The room was outdated,  old beds with sinkage in the middle. There is construction right across the street currently!  The pool and spa were the best thing. If u are sensitive to smells don't stay here there is an overwhelming scent in the air which was cumbersome to those with headaches. This hotel needs a paint job. We were promised complementary breakfast and when we checked in they let us know only one of us would have 20% off our meal, we paid extra money for this when booking online through hotels.com .  they were understaffed at the desk and over staffed in valet and tour desk, which is a time share scam. Go to the Diplomat for the same price! !!!

Great place! From the outside, never would have thought this place was modern, clean, and comfortable. After arriving, I was pleasantly surprised! No mildew (which I find often staying at hotels on the water that are decently priced). The restaurant was delicious for breakfast and lunch while the pool was spacious and relaxing. So close to Miami, without the Miami price. Check it out!

Clean rooms that are a little dated.  I was delayed on arrival due to weather but called first with a heads up about my late arrival.  Still got a lousy 3rd floor double bed noisy room near the elevator that had no Kleenex and small TP supply and only 2 towels.  Not exactly the welcoming you hope for after getting hung up by a long weather delay.  After these hiccups, the maid service picked up the slack and the pool and tiki bar are very fun.  Could be better but no fatal flaws.  Staff is very nice, too.  The refrig and microwave in the room are great to have.  Wifi is included.

Loved my stay here. Clean, modern on the water and right across the street from the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best feature is the pool which sits on the water. The hotel plays light rock or latin music in the background. There is a tiki bar that makes a good Bloody Mary and outside dining as well. There is also a wading pull area perfect for younger kids.

Very nice place! Good price for being across the street from the beach! The staff was very friendly and always greeting you when you come or go. They offer Valet, or self parking which costs $18 daily.
The rooms are really nice with good views and quiet. They are very modern looking and have a renovated feel. We will stay here again for sure.

Pool area is awesome and so well worth staying here.

At 5am, the alarm for the room next door went off for more than 30 minutes straight, called the front desk and they could not shut it off, the person next door could not hear it, but sure kept us up. Awful experience.

The room are really dated, not enough hot water in the am, almost just warm. Shower head leaks water too. That's the worse part. The afternoon was better with very hot water.

But whoever cleaned the room, did not leave us any soap or shampoo. Ugh.

Location is pretty good, across the street from the beach which is wonderful.

Overall a good US 3 stars.

Soooooo. . .Crowne Plaza was able to rectify the situation to my satisfaction, which I did not expect. I was actually a little shocked that they followed up at all and was impressed with how it was handled.

I did want to make a few additional comments about our stay.

The Tiki bar service was excellent although it was much busier and a tad slower on the weekend than weekday, but that was probably justified. Both Evelyn and Byrant (?) were working their tails off to keep everybody stocked with drinks and food.  They definitely weren't slacking off, so it did not bother me that service was a tad bit slower on the weekend. Somebody next to us ordered ice water, and Evelyn brought us some too, which was nice. A can of Corona was $6, which is pricey, though.

The Tiki bad food was good, actually above average than other poolside restaurants.  I had the sesame wings, which were small to medium size, but tasty and the spinach strawberry salad was delicious. My friend had the hamburger which was large and juicy. The fries were crisp too. The pool had music piped in from the restaurant so you could barely hear it, which was a bummer. There were plenty of lounge chairs. You can also get towels at the pool and take them to the beach if you want. They ppl giving out towels were friendly, too.

Erik in the Bistro Lounge was wonderful.  The bfast buffet was $19, which is normal, but still pricey, although the selection and the food was good.

The pool is on the intercoastal, not the beach.  CP has their own beach access which is right across the street and a guy renting beach chairs and umbrellas.

The desk staff wasn't overly friendly, but they were professional. There was one concierge that was always smiling and a delight. Very helpful and not pushy.  They had some pretty cool day trips, but we didn't have time.

We had to pay for parking per day, which was annoying. It was $20 per day, which was a lot. But the valets were very speedy and friendly.  

Overall,  the staff was above average for friendliness.  I was really pleased.  

There is a 7 eleven right next door. I felt pretty safe walking there for late night snacks, etc.  

I read some of the other reviews and yes, there was a faint odor in the place that we couldn't figure out. It didn't bother us after the first day, but it was strange.  Not sure if it was some type of cleaner or what.

The room was fine, ours wasn't outdated, and the bathroom was clean.

I would stay here again, and would suspect that our issue with the cleaning of our room was a fluke.
