DO NOT STAY HERE!!  We travel a lot for business and pleasure and have stayed at many different hotels around the world and I have to say is dirtiest place so far. Blood stains on the comforter, broken tiles in the room's floor, stains of food everywhere, the air vents haven't been cleaned in years, the tub and toilet showed rims of dirt and rust, there was mould on the shower curtain, etc. Needless to say it made for a very unpleasant, uncomfortable and unsafe stay. If you walk bare foot you arw liable for feet getting cut to shreads and you've been warned. Again DO NOT stay here unless its the last option on earth and even then just sleep in the car.

I can't even give one star for this hotel.  The entire staff needs to be fired including security.  Everyone needs intense training in hotel and customer service etiquette.  They don't explain services in full detail. Security forces you to swipe card even after seeing you leave to go to the pool or ocean for a swim.  They didn't clean nor gave us enough blankets.  The room was filthy,  kitchen stove, and cabinets.  Oh! Don't fall for the continental breakfast,  there is none.  You are better going to the second floor and paying $8 to get a real hot breakfast. I can go on and on.  But the bottom line is go elsewhere this hotel is a very bad experience for the cost.

Compared to the other reviews i must have gotten lucky.  I was, though, skeptical at first when we arrived.  So when we arrive we go into the first lobby and they tell us that we have to go to the other lobby to check in.  We go to the other lobby and they stated we were too early because check in was at 4.  So we ask for some beach towels and the front desk person was nice enough to give us 2 towels and a key to get into the gym area.   Well, when we walked through this particular part of the hotel, it was run down and scary.  We weren't sure if this was the hotel but this wasn't a good first impression.  So when it came time to check in we wanted to see the room first.  To out surprise the room was perfect.  Its was a corner ocean view unit with a king size bed, living room and kitchen.  So i have no complaint about the room.  The hotel did smell a little bit and I believe someone had a cat in their room because the hallway smelled of cat.  It does seem to be a place were older retirees go but that didn't bother me.  The location is great with the beach right there.   There are a couple of drug addicts around and it seems like the cops make no appearance.  I would go back to this place if I was guaranteed the same room.  Like I said, you cant beat the location though.

Where to begin?   This is the poorest excuse for a hotel we have ever experienced.   The valet svc is totally inconvenient,  THERE ARE NO BELLMAN.  YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE IS HELD UNTIL YOU PACK N UNPACK YOUR OWN OWN LUGGAGE.  
We paid $308 for  a room that was dated to about the 1950's.  We had ONE...YES ONE. HAND towel and NO BLANKETS ON THE BED.  The matress was old and horribly uncomfortable.
This gets worse:  the temperature was 40 degrees,  AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO HEAT IN THIS RENISSANCE,  antiquated old building.  We were freezing; called and asked for blankets, were treated rudely,  and  ALL OF The BLANKETS THAT WERE BROUGHT TO US HAD HOLES IN THEM.  Naturally,  we checked out early the next morning.
Yes...the tiny window overlooked the ocean, but it was entirely too small.
Do not waste your money on this dump...sleeping on a park bench would be a better option.

Worst place I have ever stayed-the only thing this place has going for it is the location and the fact that it is a place to lay your head at night. I called to ask for linens and was told no, I could only get extra linens on Wednesday.  Lol.  All of these other bad reviews are not an exaggeration-this place is a joke,  it's a shame as I'm sure at one time it was a great place.  

One positive was the bar staff-they were very nice and friendly!

Bait and switch clip joint. I booked and paid for a room in advance. On arrival, they told me a room was not available. Over a thousand miles away from home, prepaid and cast out onto the street and they did not refund my money. Stay away from these thieves.

I'm sure this hotel was amazing at one point in its very, very long history. I didn't do my reading on the hotel. First impression was better than later impressions.

I stayed in room 589 which is a city view, queen suite with kitchenette (oven, stove, mini fridge, microwave, and sink) and tiled flooring (ick). They also provided a pull out couch, dining table with 4 chairs, and a flat screen tv. The whole room looked clean at first until I found a German cockroach in our bathroom :(. I only saw one but I know those assholes don't come in ones. The water pressure was decent but only one type of stream for its showerhead. The shower curtains had pink mildew at the bottom and it didn't seem spacious as it was only the regular, straight rodded shower curtains. I wished it had the curved curtain rod... I think most hotels are switching to that so I was disappointed when it didn't have it (spoiled?).

It was nice having the beach so close to the hotel. The only thing that separates the beach from the hotel is the boardwalk :)

The pool was pleasant. Lounge chairs had mats for comfort. The hotel provides yellow beach towels from 30 years ago-- "yellow towels" I bet they used to be white (so ask for 5 and tie them together, lol). Oh, and they also provide beach chairs at the front desk too so don't forget to ask!

The ground level of the hotel was some kind of a mall at one point but it is now more of a ghost town with a few scattered shops and vendors still in operation, but nothing fancy. By few I mean 3.  

"Continental" breakfast is from 8-10 on the ground floor at the cappuccino stand. There was not much available: mostly toast, bagels, muffins, cookies, and coffee. You have an option of coffee or one cold drink of your choice. If you want eggs and bacon, there is a breakfast buffet on the second floor that is not associated with the resort but actually for another hotel. It's only $6 for breakfast though, so it might be worth it. I believe that breakfast opens from 7-10. Make sure you set your alarm to wake up early while you're on vacation to ensure you get your breakfast! Not a big deal if you miss it though- there's plenty of options outside the resort.

They have security before you go up the elevators and they make sure you swipe your room key before entering the glass doors (that's the only way to open the door anyway unless someone else swipes in). It's nice to have security but it can get semi annoying when you have to pull out your room card with full hands (beach things, food, chairs, etc).

I paid $99 a night with extra fees. Don't remember cost of extra fees though so it must've not been unreasonable. You definitely get what you pay for here so I can say I am happy with my experience. Would I recommend this place? Maybe to my other hobo friends who are not looking to sleep in a crappy motel for the same price. Again, this is for the queen deluxe. I don't know how nice/bad other rooms may be!

The hotel itself is ok. The beds were moderately comfortable, and the pillows were good. The first room I stayed in had laminate hardwoodish floors and was alright, the second had tile but smelled somewhat bad.

The problem we had is that they have us no room service for 3 days.  We requested it over 6 times, and still were not given anything. The last time I simply asked for some towels so that we could shower before we left. They assured me we would and that never happened. We had to call and ask for towels yet again and when the lady came she threw a fit about giving us towels because we were leaving that day, even though we had paid for the following day (we were leaving a day early without refund)

After being assured by several people multiple times that we would at least get bare minimum service, we received one towel right at the end. When I left I spoke with the person that had told me it would be handled that morning and he was very unwilling to take any responsibility for the mistake, as he had apparently passed that along to their housekeeping management.

Additionally, we had the housekeeping come in one day and put pressure on us to not clean our room or anything, so we said not to worry about it.  This transferred into her thinking she could not service our room fully the day after as well (all we received were towels.) This was towards the beginning of our stay.

Couple all this with the front desk not wanting to help us with inquiries in any way at the beginning of our stay (some of them had really bad attitudes), a pool which closes at 8PM (kinda seems lame), and the hotel looking a bit run down.. This made the stay seem rather unpleasant.

That aside, the beach is really nice. The pool/hot tub are also nice, and the location being next to massage places and bike rentals is nice as well.

I enjoyed my stay, but that had nothing to do with the hotel or it's employees. Luckily I can let go bad service as it happens once in a while.

I travel for work and stay in different hotels every week. I'm tolerant and forgiving, as for the most part it's not a big deal.  

Don't let this review completely deter you from staying here, as I still enjoyed my stay. I'm just not happy to let this debacle get hushed over and for them to pretend there aren't some problems with their employees.

Do not stay here! Every traveler has their story of the worst hotel they have ever stayed in. We stayed here 3 nights and every day the elevator broke for multiple hours. Want to use the stairs? Wait until a security guard comes around to escort you to a staircase (20 minute wait). Air conditioner never got the room below 80. Tub didn't drain. Wifi had 0 connectivity. They advertise a "mall" below which in reality is abandoned. Pool is decent, beach outside is nice, just don't expect to be comfortable here or be treated nicely by staff.

I have booked this hotel through Orbitz rated "3.1 stars" in Fort Laudredale, FL. The hotel is listed with 3.1 stars and I booked it for one night on 3/21/14.

When we arrived there, the staff was unfriendly and didn't ask us if we needed help with luggage, valet parking or anything. There was a man at the front door just standing there and starring and didn't say a word to us (poor hotel service impression from the beginning). When I went inside to check in, the person was rude and was rushing me. He was helping another guest while attempting to checking me in. Immediately you could smell a stench of some sort in the hotel lobby (Mildew and Body odor smell).
The hotel is very filthy and has an awful smell from the lobby, to the elevators, hallways and in the room. It was apparent once we got in the room that the hotel suffers from major mold and mildew problems. The windows of the room were dirty, the window shade was torn off, the air vent has major clogs of dirt which obviously stunk the room because we had the air on the whole time. We were breathing disgusting mildew and dirt smell the whole time in the room. The back of the Fridge was disgusting, the room's corners are dirty and has spiders crawling. In the morning when we went down for breakfast, we saw a dead cockroach on the floor next to the table. I highly doubt this hotel has a cleaning staff seeing the condition of the utter disgust and the complete lack of responsibility.

The complimentary breakfast was a joke, the lady gave us the option of coffee or juice and the option of a muffin or bagel.. I've never been asked to choose what I wanna eat for breakfast like that. Though the lady was nice, I think it was poor customer service to have the customer choose especially if something tastes old which they did.

It is very clear that the "3 star" rating for this hotel is a major rip off and complete dishonesty (hence falsely advertised a hotel). It is a disgusting hotel that doesn't deserve 1 star. I feel completely ripped off and moreover I'm particularly concerned with my health after a night in this "luxurious 3 star hotel".

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Ok, here is the deal. These are individual condo units that two different companies rent out. Strange, but true. So, do not expect hotel quality service. The rooms vary widely and wildly. We stayed here before and after a cruise. First room was like a hospital room in east berlin during the cold war. No pictures or mirrors on wall, no nightstands, no lamps. One single overhead light. Everything painted white, a hot plate and a microwave with a mini fridge.  Just a bit creepy. Second room was much bigger and nicer, actually resembled a normal beach condo. Both rooms were clean. No matter what time you arrive, expect to wait until after 4 to get into your room. You have rented a condo unit and you will wait until that particular unit is ready. The resort is old and has seen better days, but the location is outstanding. The beach and boardwalk outside the resort are great. The pool and lobby are occupied by a cast of snowbirds and retirees that should be in a sit-com. Unless you know the unit that you have booked, it will be a roll of the dice on how nice your room will be. We would consider this resort again based on our beach and boardwalk experience. Restaurants on the boardwalk included Italian, Armenian, Argentinian, Mexican, Turkish, surf and turf, sports bars, elegant and even a microbrewery.

If you're reading this DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Worst place I've ever stayed at.
The guy at the front desk was very unprofessional telling me that I didn't have a reservation without even checking on the computer. When I clearly told him I paid for it online through hotels.com and I even had a confirmation number. He insisted that he didn't have anything under my name. After numerous times of me telling him to please check in the computer he finally did and there it was. I read online that I had to pay a resort fee at the hotel but it didn't say anything about having to pay in cash only. That's a first one. I'm thinking he pocketed that. Then I didn't get the room I paid for. I paid for a single bed with ocean view and I got 2 doubles with a roof view. Room stinks like mold and furniture looks like it came out of an old cheap motel. The tiles are broken and the paint in the tub is chipping off.
Again, If you're reading this DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Drive a few minutes away our pay the extra $20 for the much better hotel. I wish I would have read the reviews before.

And the pictures online are far from being accurate.
Again, keep looking and do not stay here you will regret it if you do.

This has to be the WORSE hotel EVER. I don't even know where to begin. The hotel smells. My husband had a hard time checking in. Once we got the keys there was someone in the lobby who had to check out keys before we were able to get into the elevator gate. When we get up to our ocean view room, there was no ocean view just the roof view. We got the room because there would be a view and there was nothing. Talk about disappointing!!! The room itself wasn't the best room. The tile floor looked dirty, the kitchen wasn't the best, and let's not even get started on the bathroom. I was scared to take a shower. The shower curtain was held up with a few hooks but there wasn't enough to hold up the whole thing. The paint was chipping of the tub and there was holes on the tiles. There is no parking unless you do valet if not you have to park in the public parking garage. It seems that people live there because the "security" was letting children in and out.

To make a long story short this place was just horrible. I wouldn't stay here again even if it were free.

Staff is rude.  Valet wouldn't even look up from texting when answering a question.

The only handicap parking is only for 4 hours.

The grounds are littered with trash and cigarette butts.

Security guards at the pool. Not life guards but security guards.  Two about mowed me over to get pass me and shut the gate in my face.

You need a swipper  card to get into the pool and onto the elevator. I made 3 trips to registration desk ( the furtherest!) and 4 cards later I got one to work.

The elevator security guard woman. Just keep repeating .. Go to front desk and get a new card. I tried to explain it was a new card.. She didn't apologize, she didn't point out the nearby help desk.. She Just kept repeating " Go to front desk and get a new card" .. She was emotionless and robotic.

The place is void of personality

Five stars for prompt politeness.

I checked into a room (city veiw) that had not been thoroughly cleaned beforehand. The floor was dusty, so I  swept up... it unfortunately turned into a larger pile than expected.

I made a polite* complaint with the front desk and the lovely young lady, with no questions asked, offered me a new room (OCEAN VEIW) ;).

I just really want to thank the hotel service for handling this as quickly and painlessly as possible because we all know that sometimes it's an ordeal to make simple complaints. It can escalate and get out of hand easily.

So again 5 stars to the hotel and 5 stars to the young lady at the desk.
