1. Doesn't really have a shuttle service. Should be cited by Better Business Bureau for misrepresentation on this score. 2. Bizarrely has no payTV movies. 3.  on 1/1/2010 their computer had glitch that apparently messed up reservations.  Clearly a place that caters to the folks coming through town on the way to/from a cruise -- most probably auto-booked -- that is, they don't really need to do much in terms of pleasing customers.  At least that was my impression.

Great location next to Hwy 95 and 5 minutes from Florida Turnpike, very competitive rate, free parking and shuttle to Fort Lauderdale International Airport..  What's not to love?    Super nice and helpful staff.    We also got a $20 coupon for breakfast using their internet reservation system. Rooms are nice with microwave, refrigerator, and great king size beds.  The pool and patio area, together with a full service bar make this a great place to bring the kids or cool off in the evening.

Poorly managed!  Our flight was delayed until the next morning when headed back home from a cruise.  Told by Continental to call and ask if this hotel had any rooms.  The person from the Holiday Inn told us to get on a shuttle to the hotel and the front desk would take care of us.  Got to the hotel to find out they were full and got attitude from the General Manager Bill Baker saying it was everyone's fault but the hotel's (including our fault).  He told us we shouldn't have gotten on to the shuttle without a reservation even though we were told something completely different on the phone.  Don't stay here if you are looking for friendly hotel staff!

Hotel is clean and service was great! Nice pool area, room was nice and clean. Not a new hotel but remodeled. Close to tri rail train that goes from pompano to miami airport. Resturant and bar were nice but we didn't have the best service. Kids ate free which was a bonus. Shuttle service picked us up at airport and dropped us at the train station.  It would be nearly impossible for me to ever rate 5 stars at this price point but I would stay here again.

I stay at Holiday Inn everywhere I go to get the points.  I've been a Platinum member for years and usually get treated very good.  This was not the case here.  The bed was nice, the staff were not helpful at all.
When my wife and I went to get breakfast the next morning they said my wife had to pay but mine was free. Every other Holiday Inn lets us both eat free. And it is not worth $11/person.
I also had to change a battery in a sound machine but needed a Phillips screwdriver, my wife called the front desk and asked to borrow one, they told her they didn't have one.  I called back and asked how they would fix anything in the hotel without it, they then sent a maintenance man to bring his.
Air conditioner was set to 70 but the coldest it got was 76. Maintenance man said it had smart system that shut down when you left the room, problem was we never left the room.
Overall one of the worst experiences I've had at this chain.

How can there be no reviews for this hotel?

For the most part, I was thoroughly impressed with this Holiday Inn.  Arriving on a redeye flight, this hotel had a room available for an early check in.  Sweet.  The complimentary shuttle came as requested, and check in was a breeze.  I booked through priceline the night before for a rate that was half that of the Holiday Inn website.

By the layout of the rooms you can tell that it was heavily remodeled... but not redesigned.  The sinks are outside of the bathrooms, and the AC/Heating unit is at the back of the room.  Counters, furniture, exterior of the property, etc. are all new and modern looking.

Flat panel TVs are mounted in the wall, and it was the first hotel I've evr seen that doesn't have hotel TV channels... meaning it wasn't capable of any hotel services and it was like the TV at home.  Though I must say that as a result the channels are confusing... they have a lot but because of the digital tuner channels are repeated (0-34 and 128-34).  Only techies will know what I'm referring to.

The beds are firm and the mattresses are thin.  But for some reason I found the sheets to be incredibly soft (cotton?) and the pillows perfect.


Denny's is across the street, and so is the Sheridan St. Tri-Rail station.  So it is possible (with multiple transfers) to go to downtown Miami on public transit without stepping foot on a bus.  That's ALWAYS a plus in my book.

I wouldn't mind staying here again.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights... the beds were AMAZING... the room was clean and comfortable.. overall was great... the staff was friendly and nice...

The room was great, the facilities were great and the pool area/outdoor restaurant were very classy despite the lack of menu choices.  However, when I checked-out I had left a jacket in the closet.  Attempting to coordinate the return of the jacket was difficult.  A response occurred only after registering a concern with the corporate office web site.  The manager was apologetic and took care of the shipping for the jacket.

Very nice hotel as far as grounds and rooms are concerned. Rooms are beautiful and clean and the pool area is great! We stayed a night before our cruise and really enjoyed our experience for the most part, however, they do not receive 5 stars because the front desk is the least helpful I have encountered.

We decided to swim in the pool and asked the front desk where it was cause there is no reference to its location anywhere in the book and they did not mention it to us at checkin. She pointed that it was outside and upon arriving there realized there were no towels, upon going back inside the same woman gave us 2 towels. Now since you saw us going to the pool with no towels wouldn't good customer service tell you to offer us towels?

When checking out we asked about the cruiseport shuttle, the woman asked us did we sign up for it?! At no point had anyone ever mentioned we needed to sign up for it when I called before booking and specifically asked about it. A man behind the desk said that I was supposed to tell them upon checking in, again no one mentioned this so how would I know that? They should be proactive in asking customers that are only staying 1 night if they are here for a cruise since usually that is the case in the area.

All in all it was good experience but they just need to be more forthcoming with information, also, a side note that is not the hotel but the gas station across the way locks their doors at 10pm so if you need a snack run after that you are limited to way overpriced vending machines.

Flew in from Atlanta the other day, and I must say that I am quite impressed with this hotel. Everything is nice & clean, and the staff is pretty good too. The only two issues I have with this hotel is that they charged my card an additional $75 as a deposit, and they don't offer guests "free breakfast" like most hotels do. Expect to pay $10 per person for a mediocre breakfast. Other than these issues, I have enjoyed myself thus far Miami is great city with a lot of great scenery to take in.... Holiday Inn gave us a perfect view outside our window to see just that.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel!!!!!!!!!  At about 2am a fist fight broke out in the hallway. Police came...like eight of them...My family was terrified. We checked out next day...never going back. We asked for refund...hotel flat out refused...not a nice place... Oh if you like your room cold...don't come here...they have some "green" a/c system and air won't go below 76 degrees...

Since I didn't have an option (got a voucher with JetBlue, that's another story) I had to stay here, I don't mind to stay in a big or small chain hotel as long as the place at least "looks" clean. I only stayed one night and didn't went inside the covers, that's how scary that was.
But!!! I have a great time at Denny's across the street, that counts?

The hotel is gorgeous! My family and I went to the bar for dinner and had a fabulous time. We dined with Melody, the bartender and highly recommend her. She was attentive and had a great sense of humor. We will be going back to this hotel because of her! Thank you again for your great hospitality, Melody.

Pretty nice hotel as it is a couple miles away from the airport. I stayed here because I have a couple of clients in the Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood area.

They have a small but nice bar/dining area that serves some of the best key lime pie I've ever had. Nice sized TV @ the bar to watch sporting events (March Madness was going on) One problem I had is that they charge for continental breakfast...who does that? It had the nerve to be almost $10.

Nice pool & jacuzzi in the back of the hotel which I didn't get to partake in unfortunately as it was just too many kids and grandparents in there. Also, there was an air conditioner in the room that would not shut off and there wasn't a plug anywhere to unplug the damn thing, so I was a little chilly and caught a slight cold in result of it.

The staff was pretty nice and rooms are a very nice size.  I found it strange there was always a state trooper car stationed outside of the place 24/7. Wi-fi is free here as it should be..lets work on the continental breakfast though...

Got a suite this time, on a night that I didn't have friends around to enjoy it! Either way, the hotel was nice, front desk staff great, and overall it was a very nice stay.  Convenient location for business in Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale.

Hotel is clean.  

Beds are hard. Pillows are little squares of hardness.  Furniture is old.  Sinks and their bright lights are in the bed area and not in the toilet/tub area (so early risers can wake the others up).  

Fitness center has old & low-end equipment and is tiny.  There's an LA Fitness 2 miles west so you can work out.  

Website lists features for suites which don't exist in them.  Junior suites aren't suites like Sheraton Suites (2 rooms), but are just rooms with an added pull-out couch.  Suites are way over priced & a terrible value.

I have stayed here several times and always had a great time.
The hotel is nice and comfortable and the food was very good at the restaurant. I am coming back in May. All the meals I have had were great.
The room is spacious and comfortable. There is a great outdoor area with a beautiful pool.
I am not sure why some have given poor reviews but I guess everybody has an off day I just have not experienced anything negative here.

Exhausted,  ravenous & cranky I begrudgingly pulled in to get a room for the night.
To my amazement, it was well appointed and had a nice vibe. The desk clerk was friendly and efficient. My accommodations were roomy, inviting and clean. As tempting as the bed looked, I had to eat before I could peruse a night of sleep.
Downstairs I found a bar and restaurant. Let's keep it simple a burger and a few cocktails. The burger was adequate & my tummy was no longer roaring. The cocktails were very smooth and a sure ticket to a good night's sleep.
The bed was comfy cozy& and I had a great nights sleep. A shower to wake up and back on the road. This was not an experience,  but a necessity.  Little did I know the necessity would turn into an experience.
What's a girl to do? Keep up with her wondering Gypsy soul.

I had higher hopes for Holiday Inn.

At the last minute, we needed a hotel for the night.  For the area, it was one of the lesser priced places and a trusted name.  Luckily they offered free shuttle service to and from the airport.  Their shuttles started as early as 5 am which was great for us.  The location was a bit sketchy so I wouldn't recommend walking too far from the hotel.

When checking in for the evening, service was great.  The desk staff were all friendly and helpful.  Checking out was another story. She wasn't anywhere to be found.  She printed out our invoice and I told her we paid in full through hotels.com .  She said not to worry about it and Holiday Inn would not charge our card.  Wrong.  We were charged over and above the agreed amount.  When I called them regarding the situation, I was transferred to the accounting department who handles it.  No one answered of course and had to leave a message.  Did I get a call back? No.  

Needless to say I wouldn't stay here again.  There aren't many options around as far as food.  With the payment fiasco, I wouldn't recommend it either.

Nice for a Holiday Inn but a few issues.

The room was large and comfortable and included a fridge and microwave. Very large flat screen TV and I slept well in the bed, which had both firm and soft pillows.

The bath was newly done but the tub/toilet was on one side of the room and vanity/sink on the other, out in the open, which was odd.

Heard doors slamming up and down the hall all morning, assuming some, if not all, was the staff. Nothing more irritating than hearing doors slam over and over!

Biggest issue I had was the shower. The door to access was on the opposite side as the water knobs, so to turn it on, you have to actually get in the shower, which means getting hit with cold water. Very poor design. Low flow meant low water pressure, but it was a decent shower other than the door issue.

There is a nice pool and a small hot tub outside.

Price of a burger was $16. But there's a Denny's and a Mc.D's across the street.
