While this is by no means the nicest hotel around, but it is great if you like hanging on the beach and using your room to eat and sleep, and you can not beat the price for a place on the beach.

The Hollywood Beach Hotels have a choice of six complexes featuring 65 guest rooms with full facilities such as studios, large and regular efficiency rooms, large and regular one bedroom apartments. All room types, except for studios which have kitchenette, offer full kitchen with microwave, stove, refrigerator and dinnerware.

Conveniently located in a popular neighborhood, the Hollywood Beach Hotels are  just a few steps from the Hollywood Beach and the oceanfront Broadwalk, the town's most popular area for walking, jogging, biking, seaside dinning outdoor cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops. The hotel's central position makes it close to downtown, Artspark, Arts and Culture Center of Hollywood, while it is just 15 minutes away from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

They stole our money! My boyfriend and I PAID for a 3-night stay that they refused to honor.  They purposefully double and triple book rooms with no regard for the fact that they are in the "hospitality" business. I am currently reporting them with the Better Business Bureau.

We had taken 12 local underserved youth on a roadtrip college tour of several colleges in Georgia.  We live in Florida, but knew after four days of being surrounded by a dozen 16year olds we would want some time to pamper ourselves and unwind.  We made and FULLY PAID for a reservation from thursday night to sunday morning as a mini-vacation to treat ourselves afterward.

Because of certain hitches in the roadtrip we didn't get back to Miami until friday morning at 2am.  We knew that was too late to check-in (check in is from 3pm to midnight), so we went home and slept.  We showed up friday at 1pm only to be told that we had lost ALL THREE NIGHTS of our stay!  Their excuse was "we didn't call to say we we were going to check in late".  (I didn't know at the age of 33 I can be punished by mommy for not calling to say I'm going to be late!)

Both my boyfriend and I are world travelers, he and I have done study abroad, peace corps and have several graduate degrees between us...we have never heard of losing THREE PAID nights because we showed up 13 hours late! I have heard of losing reservations (ie when you only pay a percentage of the total stay up front, but not the entire cost of the stay). We never have heard of losing ALL your money.

When I asked the guy at the front desk Mike, if our room was still available he said "no" but the front sign clearly said "vacancy".  And then when I asked him how he can double book a room, he rolled his eyes and said "I can triple book a room if I want to" (this is a direct quote, not a paraphrase).

My boyfriend and I decided we were going to have our romantic weekend anyway and paid for an entire new hotel.  We wound up staying at Hollywood Beachside Boutique Suites and they were AMAZING!! Our exhausted, beat up, despondent souls were welcomed with huge smiles from the lady at the front desk of that hotel.  We asked Boutique Suites about their check in policy and they boldly said "if you pay for 3 nights that suite is yours whether it stays empty or not!"  Now, THAT's good business.  Hollywood Beach Hotels could learn a thing or two from their competitor.

All in all I would say they are schisters and watch out!  I am currently reporting them with the Better Business Bureau.

This place is a Dirty Dump

Bed was made but with the same dirty sheets that someone else stayed in the night before. DISGUSTING! There were bodily hairs in the sheets, and I could feel the dirt in the sheets with my feet. The hair dryer was broken, and you could see hairs stuck to the bathroom wall. Management did nothing to satisfy upset customer. They had a very poor attitude toward customer service. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!

This was the perfect spot for a reasonable weekend getaway! Its a small, well-kept, hidden gem that is located in the perfect spot to get to everything within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and provided great hospitality service during our weekend stay. I would definitely go back or recommend other people to stay here. Remember your on vacation, so you just need a clean place to sleep and this place did the job. Thank you!

Avoid staying here!! These people couldnt care less about guest dissatisfaction. We stayed here twice. The first weekend we got here and the room we reserved had been given to someone else. They gave us another room but of lesser value and rather than the 2 bedroom we reserved for our big family, we got stuck with a one bedroom. We were not compensated either. The only nice thing was we were right on the beach, so the following weekend we reserved a 2 bedroom again and when we arrived at 10 that night from a long drive, our room had been given to another party AGAIN! We got another available room. Walked to the room and surprise surprise, the key did not work. Walked all the way back and got a new key. The following day the ac stopped working. It was a hot and humid 80 degrees in the room with kids and an uncomfortable baby. The best part is, despite all problems, they will not offer refunds ! Worst customer service ever! Do yourselves a favor, stay at one of the many other beach houses or hotels nearby!

We can't expect to much from a cheap hotel. It's really a 2 stars! Very simple! But Staff was friendly and nice.

Stayed there for one night (paid $46 through hotels.com )
Nice (though old) rooms.  Great location, with multiple pools.
Okay continental breakfast.  The front desk rep is nice and let us for a late checkout of 2pm (3 hours over their normal) for a mere $10.
Do note that they charge $10 for parking in their lot.

I'm the owner of a service business, and have been for the past 25 years. Myself and my company are long-time members of the BBB in Illinois, and I feel compelled to write and post this for all the good travelers out there who put their trust in (and try to support) smaller hotels while on the road.

Upon arriving at the "Hollywood Beach Hotel", 1915 N. Ocean Drive, Hollywood Beach, FL on 12/12/13, I asked the clerk about how quiet the room was, especially because it was so near the highway. He assured me it was 'very quiet' because the walls were 'poured concrete' and 'nothing goes through these walls".

He showed me the room before I said I would take it. There was music blaring outside, but I asked that it be turned down, and it was, but still rather annoying - why bother people in their rooms with this - why not let them quietly play their own music?

I walked into the first-floor room, and the place reeked of a strong cleaning fluid. I opened the door, and figured it would air-out eventually.

Well, upon signing their very strict non-refund form, with a rate of $536.13 for the week, including taxes and a daily parking fee, I entered the room and closed the door, and the within a few minutes, there were two guys sitting right outside my window, talking loudly, swearning, and drinking beer. There were also people smoking in the common area, and their smoke was wafting into my room.

I asked about getting another room - they said it would be another $50, (they said it was a reduced rate), and they walked me down a narrow alley, about 1/2 a block away. They showed me a room with the front door and window facing another building, about 5 feet away, with no sunlight, even if the shudders on the windows would have been opened; this also smelled like cleaning fluid.

I decided to walk a block toward the beach to check a hotel I had seen online earlier, the Neptune. The lady there was very nice, and showed me a clean, quiet room on top of a two-story building. The front window had a great view of the boardwalk and ocean. No way for people to hang outside the door, and no highway noises either; she said the rate would be around $619 for the week, with all taxes and parking included; I thought the higher price was worth it; hey, I live in Chicago, and it's 7 degrees there today.

I returned to the nice guy at the front desk of the Hollywood Beach Hotel and said that I wanted to cancel, and he said no way. I had signed a form, as we all do when we check into a hotel, but this one stated that 'all charges are final, and I am not eligible for any refund for any reason.' The clerk showed me the one-page form, and I asked him kindly, several times, to please make an exception, as I hadn't used the room in any way, and found it too noisy now, as I had a moment to check it further. He flatly refused, and when I asked him to check with the owner, he said he was out of the country, I believe he said India. I asked him kindly over and over to please accommodate his customer, and again he refused, and said it was out of his hands, because I had signed his form. He said he would call the owner tomorrow, 1/2 way around the world, but that he probably would not accommodate me either.

So, now I'm stuck here, drunk neighbors and all. I can hear them talk, even when in a normal voice, and bump into the wall right next to my bed. I can clearly hear trucks and cars going by outside as well. Now it's 10:45 pm, and people are right outside drinking and making noise, and this is only a Thursday night.

I've told the clerk that he can even charge me for tonight, and I'll go elsewhere, if he'll refund the remaining amount. He still says no, even though I've offered to pay for a night I wouldn't even use!

This is just ridiculous. As a business owner, I believe in taking care of my customers, no matter what, and especially if they don't use my services. Here I've offered to pay for one night while going elsewhere, and still no dice. The clerk says he's one of the managers, and will call the owner overseas tomorrow, but I know he won't agree, and that's why I'm posting this warning message to everyone considering this location. I just want out of here, and will even pay them $69 for nothing, and remove this posting, just to get out of jail. Seriously: Buyer Beware.
BTW: Their sign states you get a $5 credit for posting about them online!

I Needed a last minute Hotel so i used my Hotels.com App and found this one, when i arrived things went wrong, First they Charged me $10 extra for parking, they should just raise the price of the hotel room $10 and give it to me free, I hate paying for parking! Next the kid behind the desk just did not care at all he was not helpful friendly and was more interested in what was on his computer than helping us check in, We had to drive some random place to find the hotel room its not at all near the front Desk, after looking for 15 min for the room we found 1 parking spot left, then we had to walk 1/4 of a mile to the hotel room. I hope you like Walking! Just to find the front door look like it had been kicked in, the main light did not turn on when we walking in, we had to use our cell phones as lights, Mold on the fridge ( on the Outside, did not even want to look instide ) Dirt and dust everywhere, Cracked walls, and Signs of Bed Bugs, It looked more like a Crack house than a hotel room, we went directly to the front desk and said we where not staying here, The Kid told us we needed to call back the next day to get a refund. I tried calling back the next day, they said i'm not getting a refund, even though i did not stay there for more than 10sec in the room, Very Disappointed in Hollywood Beach Hotels!

If you are looking for a cheap hotel for a short vacation, this is a good place. However, if you want a hotel that provides a more enjoyable hotel experience, I would look elsewhere.

This place is very inexpensive. Especially, if you look online for hotel deals. Thus, you get what you pay for. You are not provided any other clean towels after check-in (rooms come with towels, they are not replaced during the stay), unless requested. Hotel rooms do NOT have WIFI, only the commons area has WIFI. If you are able to withstand not having WIFI in your room, good for you. Parking in the extremely limited lots, costs ~$10 USD a day. The rooms are not cleaned until you check out, and the floors are not swept, expect uncomfortable sand on the floor. However, beds are comfortable. The Hotel complex is a 30 second walk to the beach, which is in the hotel's backyard.

Therefore, this place is not the best, but it is worth it for the money. Do not expect 5-star service.

The service from Natasha is unmatched ( hope I got her spelling right) The hotel is nice and clean. The staff goes above and beyond, this is our third time staying there. Never been disappointed. Highly recommend!!! Also the pool water is so nice and warm. And they're located so convenient everything you need. Hey taxi ride from myself in my husband only $15 from the airport in Fort Lauderdale. And was only $20 to the cruise port.

TERRIBLE , NASTY DISGUSTING..... checked in this friday late around midnight.. the room was hot smelled musky, the bathroom had no hot water and the shower was dirty.. the AC barely worked and the bed was old and uncomfortable with lumps and bumps let alone the comforter was disgusting and old , the linen was out dated and stained.

the free breakfast was a banana and a cookie from little debbies  dollar store boxes.

for 139.00 for the night this place is a run down dive .... when I got home I took a long shower for fear of anything that may have bitten me there...

FYI the room is no bigger that a closet and there seems to be very unsavory residents who look like they may live there,

Although other yelper may saw bug here, i did not see unwelcome insects of any kind showing tonight. The internet is quite fast, reliable, and customer friendly. Price was decent compare to other hotel near by the beach.
