this sealed the deal for me as far as my view on marriott.  the valet and front desk staff were nice.  the sales department broke the contract and gave away one of the rooms.  the kids working in the bar are nice but slooooow.  its right on the beach, but it's in hollywood florida, so really nothing that great.  the beds were not marriott beds, SO uncomfortable.  the sheets were dirty, no hairdryer.  going back to that area in two weeks, will be staying at the st. regis.

I can only give this hotel two stars because of the fact that they do not own the beach, not even a small part.  The part of Hollywood beach where this hotel is located is public, which creates problems for those of us who like to sit in beach chairs under an umbrella.  They do have a service that you can rent from, but they charge $7/chair and $22/umbrella, which is quite expensive as they pick up extremely early- by 5:00pm at the latest!  There is no break on the price if you go out to the beach late (3:30pm) or so- the people who rent the chairs and umbrellas still want to charge full price, as their contract is with the city and not the hotel.  Other Marriott hotels on the beach (Ft. Lauderdale & Marco Island, for example) do own at least a small part of the beach, which makes it easier to get set up.  The hotel itself is small, but the rooms are cozy and the beds are comfortable.  The food and drinks are good too.

Nice restaurant outside, each table has an umbrella and you can watch the people and the ocean.  Good salads, soups and burgers.  Service is sometimes good, sometimes pretty slow.

My stay here was exactly what I was looking for to get away with some friends for a girls weekend! The hotel was stylish and up to date. The dining area and outdoor seated made the hotel have a "resort" feel. It screamed VACATION! The food was fantastic, the staff was incredibly helpful and extremely welcoming. I also loved  the location of this hotel. It was right on the beach but not in the heart of the boardwalk. This made it  feel a little more secluded and not as crowded by others while on the beach. The bar was great and they were very good about letting you take your drinks to the beach with you, which was also a pleasant surprise! We had a night flight out so after we checked out of our room we went to the beach for the day, when we needed to  rinse off to catch our flights home the management informed us that they do not have showers in a general locker room in the gym like we had initially thought but, when they saw that we were given false information they called up to the spa and  let us use to spa locker rooms to shower and freshen up before our long flight home!  I greatly enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be staying here again if I come back to visit this area!

every....single....time.... I go to this place, some BS happens and I swear to myself I am never coming back. Today was the breaker. I ordered the blackened Mahi sammich, after about a 1/2 hour it came out... finally. NOT blackened and ICE cold fish. YUK. When our server came over, I asked if I could send it back, he said "yes, but it will take a while." Seriously? It ended up coming out pretty quick, but they caked on SO much seasoning that i coulnt even taste the fish AND  they put it all over the fries so I basically had just blackening seasoning for lunch.
We also asked for bread. Not and unreasonable request seeing how every other table had it. (not to mention, I had to GET UP and ask for it). about another 15 min pass, and finally, after asking again, we finally got it.
Our server was NO where to be seen because he was soooo weeded and god forbid another server help him out instead of just hanging out at the hostess stand.
We were finally brought our check and sat there (with dirty dishes) for again,.. another 15 min. and AGAIN, I had to get up out of my chair and ask a manager to run our cards. And again, this took about another 10 min. Seriously?! To run a credit card?!

Im never going back. This time I mean it.

Visiting family at the end of a week in Orlando. Although beautiful, we had a few issues. Room 525. The toilet paper dispenser fell off the wall with a single touch, there were a few stains on the ceiling, and the floor lamp was burned out and the shaft was loose. That said, the room was well appointed and the hotel in a great location. One would just expect at the prices they charge, there would be a bit more attention to detail.

I can't vouch for this place as a hotel, but for a weekend lunch it's great! I come every weekend for lunch, provided that its sunny. The view is really nice (it's right on the beach boardwalk!)  and the people-watching is fun as well.

There's sometimes a bit of a wait if it's a beautiful day and you come at a peak time, but it's worth hanging around. The waiters bring delicious warm bread baskets with different types of butter (if they don't bring it, ask for it!). The food is good and the prices are too. I've tried a few items on their menu (though I usually stick to the mahi-mahi sandwich) and have never been disappointed.

My good friend and her boyfriend and myself and my boyfriend decided to take a vacation in Florida. After a lot of searching for rates and looking for a nice place, we decided on this hotel.

The staff at the hotel is very very nice. Everyone always said "Hi" and greeted us every time we came in the door. We got a 2 double beds room. The bed is nice and fluffy. There was a flat screen TV, a very small outside patio that can most likely fit two people, a desk, and drawers to put your clothes in. The bathroom is nice and very clean. The door to the bathroom has a clear screen, so you can see through the door.

We got breakfast included with our rooms, but we had four people to our rooms and when we told the front desk, they offered free coupons for the breakfast buffet for all nights of our stay. The buffet was good. It had lots of fruits, bagels, toast, muffins, eggs, meats, cereals, and omelet station. They offered all kinds of juices and coffee in the morning. I even took a Starbucks coffee to go. I believe if you had to pay for the buffet it would be about $20? So it was nice that it was comp.

The outside pool is ok. There was a lot of kids there at the time we went, so that made it a little scary to swim in the pool, but we dipped in and out. They have midst that sprays around the edges of the pool area. There are nice pool side helps that come and give you a ice cold towel to cool you off from the heat. The waitress for the pool is very sweet and they offer a limited menu for food and beverages. The pina coladas were really good. I believe they were about $8.00. I had chips and salsa and my boyfriend had the burger. Our friends absolutely loved the cocktail shrimp and that will run you about $12 for 6 big shrimps.

The hotel is in Hollywood Beach, FL which is in between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. It is on the beach. The beach and hotel is connected by the boardwalk, where a lot of people walk up and down and enjoy the beach. They have rental umbrellas, chairs, and cabanas right on the beach. I believe 4 chairs with chair pads and 1 umbrella cost us about 40 dollars.

If you're looking to be within distance of water sports and shopping etc. This isn't the place to you. We had a rented car (cost for parking overnight at the hotel is about $15/day) so we drove everywhere. I believe the closest jet skiing/water sports place was at least 15 minutes away. We went to one in Ft. Lauderdale side. For intense shopping, Las Olas is about a 10 minute drive away and that area will have all your shopping and good food.

Recently had a massage at the spa from Ellen. Simply wonderful. The lady has great hands, and did deep tissue on me. One of the best massages I have ever had. I will surely return for more massages.

Great atmosphere, sitting right on the beach. The service is a little slow and the food isn't amazing but it's a good place to hang out and enjoy the view of the ocean while having lunch.

Certainly the best restaurant terrace on the boardwalk, make sure you have time as service is very slow, forget about ordering a Marguarita which will be very watery but stick on a glass of Chardonnay with a shrimp cocktail, it make your hour watching people on the boardwalk 100% worth it & less than $20 per person. The best part too, contrary to many other terraces there are some beautiful & normal  people there & not just the usual crowd you see only in Hollywood Beach, so it make the walk worth it

The exterior of this particular Marriott is painful in a way only 1970's muted pastel palettes can hurt.  The only thing that hurts more than the exterior is the unforgiving beds.

But aside from the questionable mattress selection, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and possessed of all you need. We've stayed here in the past without any problems. Unfortunately, we couldn't get past the bed on this most recent visit and we checked out days earlier than anticipated.

I was staying just North of the Marriott and picked up a couple of pizzas to take back to to the family.  They tacked on a 20% gratuity charge that was automatically included in the order!  I was a party of one who ordered take out.  This was unacceptable.  The pizza was middle of the road and certainly not worth the 20% surcharge.  That is the last time I choose the Hollywood Beach Marriott for any of my family's needs.

I love to come hear for lunch!  Awesome location, plenty people watching action, and delicious food.  This past Saturday however I was only slightly concerned....

I usually order a side of the mango coleslaw.  When I first had it, it did not have a lot of mayonaise and a hint of mango - not too much just perfectly balanced.  The cabbage was nice and crisp and cold!  The renowned Top Chef contestant Chef Ron Duprat worked wonders on that slaw.  Well unbeknownst to me - Chef Ron is no longer there and I found out this weekend because my coleslaw was swimming in mayonaise to the point where the cabbage was smooshy (did I spell that right?) and the mango flavor was non-existent.  I couldn't eat it.

Other than that - they make AWESOME garlic pickles and if you ask they will give you a container to go with pickles (2).  Also, the crab/lobster cake sandwich - delish.  Buffalo shrimp were nice and succulent as well and not too  hot.  Portabello mushroom apetizer is good as well.

Everytime I walk away, I think of the pickles - and today I'm trying to replicate them in my kitchen the way I have learned to replicate Chef Ron's mango coleslaw! :-)

A friend and I went here one Sunday for what my friend thought was a brunch buffet. Turns out it was breakfast only.

Overall the outside is really nice with a great view of the boardwalk and beach. As for the menu, it was ok. Nothing too spectacular. Pretty standard when it comes to a breakfast buffet. The servers working the buffet were friendly and so was our waitress.

I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here again unless maybe to have some drinks with out of town friends and just relax by the beach.

Mixed feelings...

The positives:

--Friendly staff
--Lively outside bar
--Access to beach and boardwalk area (only a few steps)
--Breakfast buffet (also included with our AAA rate)
--Rooms are comfy and attractive

The not-so-good:

--Older, not so attractive part of town
--Parking fee ($20/day)
--Patio is tiny, although you do have a partial ocean view
--Can't access the hotel from the parking garage; must go through the lobby.

The bad:

--Unattractive hotel exterior; does not look like a Marriott because it was previously a Howard Johnson hotel. Ditch the aqua paint, Marriott!
--Restrooms at the pool desperately need to be updated. The doors will not even close due to rust or something. When it was mentioned to the cabana boy, he suggested guests use the public restroom on the other side of the pool wall!

What a great spot on the beach. The broadwalk runs all along the ocean and affords you access to plenty of options for food and drink as well as a gorgeous walk. Hotel has great outdoor bar for people watching and food is very good. Spectacular sunrises over the Atlantic and a super friendly staff

I live in Hollywood but have never tried the spa at the Marriott until this past weekend.  While I wasn't impressed with the spa environment (no steam room or sauna), I absolutely loved my facial from the talented Ludmilla.  She was an expert at skincare.  The staff was also great and I would definitely go back.  Great service, reasonable rates (locals get 10% off) and it's walking distance from my house (and there is a fun bar next door at The Walkabout).

Fantastic location, bright, well appointed big rooms and friendly staff ( Natascha at the front desk deserves special mention) has endeared me to this Marriott. Liked everything about it with special mention to the breakfast and snack/supper buffet at the concierge lounge except for the restaurant. Except for tuna poke and tuna wanton ( both great) everything else was pricey yet mehh. Drinks were ok though. Loved the pool. We will be back here for another family vacation.

Very nice property right on the boardwalk.  Valet parking and self parking is available on site.  Nice amenities.  I like the bar facing the beach.  Plenty of room and good service.  The prices for dring and food is extremely reasonable.  Access to the beach is just 10 steps away.  The rooms are nice and clean.  The decor is contemporary.  Free wifi all over the property is a plus!!!!

Not much to say about a Marriott that 1) doesn't serve a free breakfast in the morning, 2) doesn't have any ice machines 3) doesn't have any vending machines of any kind, 4) doesn't have a working ATM machine and 5) gives bad information about local transportation options to support its own "transportation" services (at $25 a head one-way I might add).

Yet, the staff is off the hook. The pool and hot tub nice, and how can you beat a hotel located just 25 feet away from the beach?

Now, if they can  only explain why ALL the bathrooms have see-through doors?

It doesn't look like much from the outside but this is a great full service Marriott at a reasonable price.  Located on the boardwalk in Hollywood beach, Fl, just steps from the ocean.  This Marriott has been renovated and the rooms are beautiful with views that are amazing.  I was on the north side of the building and I was treated to amazing sunsets and spectacular sunrises each day,

I was there an entire week on business and the staff is so friendly, just a great bunch of folks.

On Thursday nights they begin the weekend entertainment and we were treated to music at the patio restaurant and bar on the boardwalk.

The rooms and baths were very nice and comfy and the food quite nice.

Ebulient staff (seriously. I've been greeted with less enthusiasm by people to whom I was donating a kidney). Now the down sides. The AC in my room was loud. Like cave-troll-coming-to-get-me loud. The elevators were similarly grumbly (not a quality I like in a thing that delivers me up and down hundreds of feet).

Was fine for a business trip, but would not be my personal choice for vacation.

I should first mention that I was in Miami to work, not to play. This is an important thing to consider, as I had very little time to enjoy the hotel. I am most often simply at hotels like this to sleep, cleanse myself, and drink. Sometimes I get a chance to dip my toes into the hot tub, but not this time. That being said, the beds were clean and comfy, the shower worked well, and the bar and waitstaff were appreciated.

It rained most of the time we were here, but I'd imagine it would be a great spot to be in the event of more leisure time with nice weather - right on the beach with great views and a nice boardwalk. Maybe next time.

Hollywood Beach Marriott is a neat hotel just a few foot steps away from the water. Location is perfect for a weekend getaway. Like others have said "much quieter than Miami Beach".
The lobby and rooms are outstanding and I give house keeping 5 stars for their excellent job. The costumer service is great at this hotel. The rooms are up to date and well maintained. Some rooms have double balconies. One to the west and the other to the north with great views of the intercoastal.
On my recent stay, the ice machine was screwed up on the 5th floor but that was not an issue. I took the stair to the 3rd and the problem was solved.
The $17.00 breakfast buffet is ok but having so many good places to eat on the boardwalk, I would try something else.
This hotel is my first choice and highly recommend.

I booked this hotel in Fall 2012 to stay for a family visit in January 2013.  A few weeks later I realized we were going to be unable to make the trip, so I called the hotel and cancelled the reservation.  Or so I thought.

In February I was shocked to see a bill for a room for $240 on my Citibank credit card.  I immediately called the credit card company and explained to them that I had cancelled the room.  They told me to initiate a cancellation request, which I did.  About a month late I received a notice that my dispute had been rejected.  The Marriott Hollywood Beach was going to charge me the full amount for the room!  I talked to Citibank again and they said that since I didn't have a record of the cancellation number, there was nothing they could do.

I suspect this is a scam.  How many other people has this hotel ripped off in this fashion by not properly recording cancellation requests?  BEWARE - this hotel may do the same thing to you they did to me.  Make sure you keep any cancellation number they give you  - or better yet, stay someplace else where the hotel is not operating a scam on customers who cancel reservations.

SCAM ALERT - rip-off artists - "lost" my cancellation request and charged me.

I've done brunch here a few times.  Buffet is like $20 a head and worth it if you eat a lot on Sundays and like things warmed over.  You can stuff yourself with smoked salmon though to get your money's worth. In the end, I recommend eating a-la-carte.

This is a good place for lunch as well- propbably the best beachside patio on the boardwalk for a drink or three and nice salad. Most all patrons have all of their teeth - a rarety in this neck of the beach.

A bit overpriced for the quality of food- but it is a hotel. I'm happy they don't charge me for the water at our table.

Mimosas I've had here have been consistently yummy, the wait staff was so not- but have enough of the former and the latter is less of an issue.

Disclaimer:  I did not stay here-- we snatched by here for a few hours and enjoyed the morning view and the breakfast buffet ($23 per person, I think).

The breakfast was really good!  It had a live omelette bar, and the stations included a la carte-grade eggs benedict, various sausages, and even lox salmon.  It's on the beachfront, and the perk of being on the east coast gives you a shining view of the sun sailing on the Atlantic.

We also enjoyed a walk along the boardwalk-- this is the "quieter" side of the town since there are no other large hotels nearby.  Water here is really calm too (is this FL in general?)  so no need to be an expert swimmer.

For those with Gold/Platnium passes, there is also a VIP lounge (penthouse level, i think it's 8th floor?)

We had a great stay at the Marriott. Location can't be beat, we had an oceanfront room and had a fabulous view of the sunrise.  Great service all around. One complaint was the bed, I couldn't even roll over without the detached headboard slamming against the wall. Aside from that, I would stay again.

P.S. Be sure to try the Taco Beach Shack while in Hollywood!

On Memorial Day visited Hollywood Beach and their Boardwalk.  Saw the Marriott from the boardwalk and liked it.  Decided to stay for a weekend with the family and had a great experience. The hotel is clean and updated. Rooms are small, but comfortable. Stayed on the 9th floor facing North. The room has a small balcony with a partial view of the ocean to the east and the intercoastal to the west. The hotel has a restaurant with inside and outside seating where breakfast, lunch, and dinner is served daily. Outside you find a bar that opens until 11:00 PM. The pool area is nice,it faces the boardwalk and the beach. The staff is nice, helpful and friendly.  I recommend the Marriott and definitely will be back!

My flight was cancelled at the airport do to bad weather at my final destination.   I booked the Marriott Hollywood by accident not aware there was more than one marriott beach front property.    This error was corrected within 3 hours after I checked in.     The front desk manager Albert McDonald decided that after three hours I should be charged 100 dollars for a Half day.  Checked in at 830 am and checked out at 1130 am  and was billed 100 dollar.  I stay at the Marriott properties often about 3 to 5 times a month and had enough points to pay for the room. Luckily the points were credited to my account unfortunately  I was billed for half the day.  Management could have easily  overlooked.  I found the place to have poor customer service and we're completely unreasonable with there actions.

This hotel is literally a stone's throw away from the beach. From the higher floors, you have a great view of the beach on the east and the river on the west. This particular facility is a little more run-down than the typical Marriott (older rooms, narrower hallways, creakier elevators), and the hotel is quite removed from nicer/upscale restaurants, but the prime beach-front location totally eclipses these facts.

Room service is superb. The menu has a nice range of choices, and if there is something from the Latitude Cafe that you'd like to order and is not on the room service menu...just ask for it! They will be more than happy to put in the order for you. That being said, if you are in town and looking for a good place to eat, or too lazy to leave the hotel, Latitude is a great option.  Try the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and the tuna wontons! For the 21+, they have a fully stocked bar adjacent to Latitude, with plenty of sea-side seating and a killer pina colada blend. (:

The gift shop is only open during normal business hours, but there is a pizzeria/cafe next to the front desk that is open from 6:30AM til 12AM (or later?). The pizza is made fresh and the coffee is brewed daily. Getting off a flight late and haven't had a chance to grab dinner before getting to the hotel? Early morning shift and no chance to grab breakfast? NO WORRIES. Grab your fourth meal or your breakfast pastries/coffees, shuffle back to your room, and enjoy your meal in bed!

I am seriously considering getting my Marriott Rewards credit card...so you know where I'm staying the next time I'm in South Florida!  Hopefully for free. (:

We booked a room at the Hollywood Beach Marriott on short notice, just had to get away from New Jersey polar vortex, and had some business in the area.  We had a great 5 days.  The staff, especially Madelyn at the front desk, and the Housekeeping staff on the 9th floor, were really sweet and helpful.  I am a wheelchair user, we have a small service dog, and my husband and I are short-statured.  We are a pretty good litmus test for staff courtesy!  ; - )  Everyone was super friendly - even greeting us on the boardwalk when they were off duty and asking if we were having a nice stay.  The outside of the hotel has been painted and looks nice.  The outdoor dining is very good, and on the weekends they have live music.  The coffee/pizza walk-up has great service and food.  We loved the accessibility of the hotel, boardwalk, and most of the hotels and shops.  Some tips for other wheelchair users:  the full ocean view guest rooms only have showers, no bath tubs.  We booked one of these and had to move.  If you get a partial ocean on the SOUTH side it is just as good.  North side is chilly in the Winter, South gets very toasty on the balcony.  Rooms are pretty tight.  Since I use small chair, not an issue, average-sized wheelchair might be hard to get between furniture.  Sinks are a little high, if you are short statured  you will need a small stool.
For those with Service Dogs:  the boardwalk security people are not very nice about dogs.  They give you a really hard time and constantly harass you.  Also many of the "Snowbirds" from Canada and NE are really cranky.  We were surprised at how many people were rude and unpleasant for no particular reason.  The locals told us that this is one of the things they dread about Winters is very demanding/grumpy people who complain about everything and protect their "turf" leaving towels on pool chairs all day that they rarely occupy, and policing where other visitors walk, sit, stand with warnings of "that is not allowed."  While dogs are forbidden, bicyclists and skaters can ride at warp speeds like Kamikaze's yelling at anyone who looks like they might get anywhere near the bike path which you have to cross to get to the beach.  It is like crossing a freeway during the high traffic parts of the day.  The cabanas/chairs are nice, and if you ask/tip, the people who put out the chairs will ride you on their cart down to where your chair is.  We plan to stay at this hotel every January now and cannot wait to see our new friends at the Marriott.  Despite the challenges on the boardwalk, it was a wonderful reprieve and we had a great time!

The rooms were clean and ALL the staff was very accomodating.  We stayed on the 8th floor and the hallway smelled like cigarette smoke.  That is why I did not give it 5 stars.  The restaurant is very pricey.  Due to that we only ate there once.  Thanks to all the other posts, we walked about two minutes down the boardwalk and found many other places to eat for a fraction of the price.  I would definitely come back!

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was wonderful! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is good but a bit pricey (~100 for 2 for dinner) but I think it is better quality that most places on the broadwalk. We will be back!

Stayed there for the weekend in June and was pleasantly surprised.  Great service,  and nice rooms for the price.  The restaurant was solid and the location is so underrated. Great spot to enjoy the beach. Pool was just ok but that's the only negative I could come up with

The most expensive scrambled eggs i have ever had.  Brunch should include some actual lunch.  Never offered a mimosa.  Super. Warm inside and mediocre outside. Have to watch all the guests walk past to beach ridiculous.  Not to mention the food sucked. Not making that mistake again.  Between parking food and tip we paid over $$115.00 for runny eggs cold potatoes and bacon and the coffee was just as bad. Not to mention the 70 year old biker practically taking a shower in the men's room sink.

Wow.  What are terrible hotel.  The deluxe room gives you a view of a roof full of equipment that is super loud.  I am a platinum (marriott's highest level) and when I complained about being put into a handicapped room with noise and view issues the manager told me to pound sand.  After spending 30000 points (which I had to earn by spending $3,000 at Marriott properties) I wish I had just stayed at an airport hotel...it is just awful.  I highly recommend avoiding this butt crack of a property...oh btw even though all the nearby hotels have free parking, the Marriott is $17 a night to self park.

We are here now. Great place. Love the room and all the people who work here are soooooo nice. I went looking for ice and a nice man that works here insisted on getting it for me. Restaurant is really good. Drinks are ahhhh...ok, but food yummy and service good. Get the grilled fish tacos.  Yes indeed. Awesome. Didn't get the champagne when we arrived like other people have talked about, but oh well. Just enjoying my vacation. I recommend.

Just eat at the restaurant. Surprisingly good. The location speaks for itself and it is by far the most upscale eatery in the area. Oh, did I mention that the menu and food were good!

Atmosphere        90     On the Boardwalk with a beach view
Service                 80     It was busy but the help hustled
Food                     80     It hit the spot.
Value                    80     On the high side with worth it

If in the area, I would recommend this restaurant. It is head and shoulders over anything else on the Boardwalk and off of Ocean Drive.

This is the place to stay in Hollywood right on the beach! My wife and I stayed at the hotel in August 2014 for 5 days the service and people at the hotel are incredible. When we first arrived at the hotel everyone was ready to get our bags plus greeted us with two glasses of champagne. The manager at the hotel helped us find restaurants and made us reservations. Everyone that works at the hotel should get a bonus..top notch service...you need to have breakfast at the hotel fantastic. BTW the view and easy access to the beach is great and the views from the room are incredible.

Thought it would be nice to bring my father here for Father's Day.  When we sat down at 11am, we were handed lunch menu's.  I made a reservation for Father's Day brunch.  The waitress then told us they stopped serving breakfast at 11am and if we want breakfast items, we would have to order from the buffet ($18.75 ea.) My father just wanted a traditional breakfast with eggs , toast, and sausage.  Had to talk to a manager and after complaining a bit, they brought over a breakfast menu and he ordered.  My husband and I had the buffet to make it easier.  When my father ordered, he actually added french toast and when everything was delivered we noticed the french toast looked the same from the buffet and they just threw it on a plate covered in powered sugar and it was cold to the touch.  Had to talk to the manager again, all he wants is hot, fresh french toast with nothing on it, especially sugar.  great its on its way.  He proceeds to eat his sausage that was served to him and realized it was apple chunk filled sausage.  Since when do you not give the customer a choice if you happen to have different kinds.  Had to talk to the manager again... please just bring me plain country style sausage and next time, you should tell your customers there's a choice.  At this point, I'm almost in tears and have lost my appetite, this place has ruined our Father's Day breakfast after 6 years of not being able to spend it together.  I'm disgusted and angry.  The manager brings over 3 mimosa's thinking that will cure it all.  My father doesn't drink alcohol and I wasn't in the mood.  For $18.75, the buffet was bland with only simple breakfast items, nothing else.  nothing special at all.

We have been coming to this restaurant for years to eat, I notice everything has changed.  The wait staff are grumpy and don't smile, don't care, and have no hospitality at all.  They all seem they wish they were elsewhere.  Terrible.  This beautiful location will no longer be our place to eat.  I'm done!  Thanks for running our special day.

p.s. the manager did give me a discount, but that doesn't change the feeling of the day.  I would have paid more just for it to be perfect for my father.

Firstly, I would like to say I am a local and take weekends away at different local hotels ranging from 2-4 stars often so I know what to expect from each type of hotel.  But this hotel takes the cake in being by far the worst I have ever stayed at.  It is the most over-priced, over-rated hotel I have ever experienced.  I had so many problems that I decided to start keeping a log of everything because I wanted to make sure everything was included in my review of this hotel.
*  Check-In & room - I tried to check in early around 1pm to be informed that my room wasn't ready.  Ok, no problem. Then they inform me that I will be having a double instead of the king that I reserved and gave no reason as to why and did not even offer to change my room to a king.  Now I am starting to get flustered but said whatever I'll deal.  They said they would call me to let me know it was ready.  Come 4pm (regular check-in time) I still had received no call.  So I walk back to the front desk to only be told that my room still isn't ready, yet my sisters room who checked in later than I did was ready an hour earlier.  So I finally get my room at 4:45pm only to find out it is a ADA accessible room!!! I am not handicapped and the room I paid for was a deluxe king room with a tub! So much for enjoying the soaking tub! Oh and my sister also received an ADA room when she didn't pay for it as well. So my husband and I ended up sleeping on separate beds that night since there was no way we were going to share those small double beds.
* Pool Area - The pool area was so crowded we couldn't find one single chair! The pool itself was super loaded with people that it looked disgusting just thinking of going in.  The water was a milky color and the smell of chlorine was so strong.  It disgusted me so much I said beach it is! I'll risk the flesh eating bacteria in the ocean over that disgusting pool.  The beach was a far better choice but there was barely any place to put your belongings down. And if you wanted a chair, you had to fork over $30 for two chairs and an umbrella. Service in the beach or pool area was a joke. No one ever walked around to offer drinks or their menu from the café.
* Parking - You can self-park at their garage across the street.  What a joke! All their machines were broken! You couldn't pay with a credit card and had to struggle forever to pay with cash.  And let me not get started on the 2 machines at the exit of the garage.  Those were broken as well.  As we waited to exit the garage the line just got longer and longer with cars because the machine wouldn't accept payment from anyone.  It got to the point that both cars at the front of the line got out of their car and lifted the gate arm so they could leave and everyone just followed behind.  It was just insanity! Not to mention that "help" button got you no help at all.
So to conclude, for the amount of money that I paid for my ocean front room, this hotel is by far the worst I have ever stayed at.  Horrible service, lack of courtesy, broken machines, unreliable reservations.  I will never return and will make sure to steer all friends away from this place.

My husband and I came here for dinner. Service was a bit slow, but it was super busy and they had live music, so not a huge deal. We shared a Caesar salad for an app (good ratio of dressing to lettuce), hubby had the mahi mahi (he liked the fish, but didn't like the rice because it had nuts in it), I had the steak frites (steak was cooked perfectly). The mango butter that was served with the bread was really good. We'd come back, it's right on the boardwalk, so we had a nice stroll after dinner.

I stayed from July 11 - July 13th. At the front desk, my friend and I were greeted by Warren. Hope everybody gets him because he is amazing. He gave us an amazing room with two balconies... full front view of the ocean and side view of the ocean. He realized how exciting we were  due to it was our first visit to Florida and gave us a surprise! What a surprise! (Online We paid for a room with no view) The room was clean. A/C was great. Every question was answered immediately by all the staff we encountered. Parking is next door and belongs to the hotel. Another pro - it's few feet away from the ocean, you do not even need to cross a street. Loved it! one issue was that our keys sometimes wouldn't work and had to try to 5-6xs until they worked but compare to other stuff that could have happened, I think this is a minor issue. I had a great stay. Didn't eat there so wouldn't know about that. There are plenty of restaurants on the boardwalk, which is also great. I would give it a 4.5 but I think it deserves 5 instead of 4.

Our group of 25 came to  this restaurant for a farewell to one of our members. The location was beautiful and we had a great time together. When we made the reservations months ago we were told the parking lot charges would be validated. As we were leaving we asked for validation of our tickets but was told they stopped validating. We spoke to the hotel director in the hopes their policy could be overridden this time, in good faith. But "NO" he was very adamant in his refusal.

Thinking I was dealing with Marriott Hotels I wrote to them and received replies my complaint would be passed on to higher management. Finally I got a response from again the Hollywood Beach Marriott manager, who works for Ocean Properties Limited, repeating NO refunds, No credit, NO nothing.

What a shame they have lost the art of flexibility and negotiation,as needed, in a customer service field.

and it goes on and one forever.
The hotel was a Marriott and what you would expect. Nice rooms and good service and descent food.
TIny pool "on the boardwalk!" hotel sits right on the boardwalk and the beach!

I just adore this hotel. It is upscale, but not stuffy. The rooms aren't huge, but the beds are comfortable and the decor is stylish. It's not too loud and very relaxing, right on the beach. It's my favorite place for a staycation. The bar is open pretty late and their food and drinks are above average. The front desk crew is friendly and helpful, and room service is great, too. I've stayed here a few times under stressful situations (like when my a/c broke 3 weeks after I gave birth), and I was able to relax despite my personal crappy situation. I recommend this hotel to all visitors who are visiting the area. They can experience the funky Hollyweird Broadwalk vibe, but have a fun and relaxing hotel to relax in. I have not tried the spa yet, but I'll start dropping birthday hints to my husband now!

We recently stayed 3 nights at this hotel on the north end of the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. The hotel room was nice, clean and updated. We had a few meals in the hotel, breakfast the better choice. The pool area is very small, but the hotel is right on the beach. The hotel lobby is dated and worn. I am a Marriott loyalist, but not impressed with this property. It is not up to their standards. The bigger resorts and nicer areas are on the south end of Hollywood Beach.

I liked this place a lot.  During my 19 day stay I had a blast even was given champagne when I checked in. The beach is right out side the back door. Dustin the outdoor bartender was a dream.  Treated us so well and we were a large group.  The guys renting beach chairs and Umbrellas were great too! Well worth the rent but get there before noon or you might miss out.  The restaurant was delicious and the morning weekend buffet had a lot of healthy options.  Loved that they didn't up charge their menu if you ordered room service. The room was good and mildly spacious. Bed was comfy and the balcony was a dream.  Also enjoyed the glass shower!  The house keeping stayed around late and were able to clean the rooms even though we always left late.  Even though 99% percent of guests are vacationing you can't hear any noise from your room. Great place for quick trip or an extended stay.

I travel to the area on business monthly and typically stay at any hotel close to work that offers a decent gym, pool and Wi-Fi as basics.  If I had the time, a beach locale would be preferable but as I am gone most of the day, it's illogical to incur the additional expense.  However, being that the better half was free, I booked a Jet Blue package flying into FLL and a stay at the Marriott Hollywood Beach.

The hotel is located in-between the intercostal waterway and Atlantic with all rooms having both views and it literally affronts the Boardwalk. It is an older hotel, for the most part kept up but expect some signs of aging - sticking sliding glass door to the balcony, aged but functional gym equipment, worn furniture - but getting past these trifles, it was better than most hotels of a better class that I have stayed at in the area.

The staff can make up for inadequacies found elsewhere and they did so - all were excellent and acted as if they cared.

Although we asked for a king and were given two doubles (apparently there was no other room at the inn), room 1018 was comfortable - pillow-topped beds you melt in, in-room safe, fridge, coffee/tea, robe (just 1) - the normal - and the balcony with two chairs was a nice touch.  The bathroom had a nice assortment of toiletries including separate hand and shower wash gels and the towels, accept for the bloody one (someone else's fluid) were comfy.

I am a swimmer so when unable to do my 3500 yards/day, I substitute mostly strength-training and the 2nd floor gym was surprisingly (almost) excellent and far better than 90% of even the best hotels I have patronized.  6 or so cardio machines, multi-station and crossover cable areas (row, pull down, press, legs, cross, etc.), exercise balls and dumbbells with benches - and then of course the standard towels, water and fruit.

Every morning between 6-7am, I had the gym to myself save the lone women who stuck to the snail-paced treadmill as she texted and watched television.  Quirky things - (1) The dumbbells run from 5-50lbs but they are missing the 20 pounders - I guess somebody liked them; (2) The crossover machine is missing a bolt so the pull is dangerously questionable; and, (3) neither of the cable machines have the attachments that make them truly multifunctional.  The crossover only has the stirrup handles and the multi-station only the lat bar and seated row attachment. What happened to them?  Can they order a set? Be that as it may, I was definitely able to get a HIIT workout by improvising.

Upgrade to the Executive Club ($30/day). We were on the 10th floor so the 11th floor club was easily accessible (when the electronic keys worked) and the hours perfect.   Breakfast (6:30-9:00am) offerings included lox, cold meats, cheeses, yogurts, parfaits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, fruits, breads, juices - to name just a few.  The afternoon hors d'oeuvres (5:30-7:30pm) featured Beef Wellington, chicken skewers (dry as sin), mini eggrolls, hummus, tabouli, cheese, meats, fruits and the wine ($8/glass) not the best but reasonable. Dessert was served 7:30-10pm and while not an eater myself, the spread ranged from cookies to decadent chocolate things.  Whatever you do, get there no later than 8am and 6pm for breakfast and snacks respectively lest you encounter what seems like a bus load of parents and kids that dominate the club.

Nit Picking:  So overall, if I had to complain about anything, besides the little things - bloody towel, broken gym equipment, broken ice machines, etc. - the two most annoying were the guest computer and room keys.  For our entire stay, the computer in the Exec Club that is supposed to be used for surfing the area, emails and airline boarding passes never worked.  It always had an "Out of Order" sign on it and although I travel equipped (laptop, iPad, smartphone and sometimes printer), this had to be annoying to those that do not.

The biggest peeve was the damn electronic room keys.  Methinks it's the door readers rather than the front desk creation but I swear I went thru 15 (no lie) keys - that's three a day - because they simply did not work.  I have to tell you that getting all of the way to my room only to find that none of the three keys I had at a time worked and having to travel back to have them remade on the first floor was very unpleasant.  Unfortunately, I am fairly certain that the hotel will not in any timely fashion replace each door reader so be prepared.

Overall, knowing the quirks, I would return and recommend to others.  And BTW, the better half came home well-tanned and me still white as a ghost...

Service was terrible, air conditioner was not working.  Waitress thought removing dirty plates was below her pay grade.

The Marriott hotel needs to look into their service and A/C.  Salt & Pepper shakers that were clogged, tables and menus that were not clean.

The only good thing was the omelette chef.  He was outstanding.

Customer service is awful! The front desk staff acts like it's an inconvenience when you need a new key made! Also, the hotel is very outdated (especially for $200/night). I stayed here for 2 weeks and my bedding was changed once (after requesting it) and my duvet and sheets had holes. The internet connection is pretty slow and the power went out during my stay. The only reason this hotel gets a star is because the location is right on hollywood beach.

This is an affordable full service Marriott property.  The rate was $147, maybe because summer is over and they gave me free parking because I am a Marriott rewards member.  They had out free bottles of water, which is nice.  The hotel is right on the beach and south of the high rise building which is nice. The downside is the area around the hotel-kind of remote, and the bars in the area are somewhat dumpy. There are a lot of motels around the area. Traffic seems very good around the hotel on hwy 1.   I stayed here on businss and I would stay here again.

Hmm - a few months later & no champagne to welcome you...had to change rooms, the AC was rattling. Oh well, washed it all away w/ a beach stroll & Goose Island IPA on draft at the beachfront hotel bar. Good to see my NAFE Gal Pals!

Champagne at Check-In. Room on the S side this time - good view either side; this should be less sun intense (aromatherapy soaps/body wash). Stroll boardwalk, SURF!? (S FL unusual). The beach is groomed, seaweed being fairly thick (seasonal, fragrance reminds us of our childhood) Brevard has opted to go Au Natural... Fun boardwalk area - awaiting nightly live entertainment, just S, in beachfront outdoor band shell. Know the breakfast is diverse & fresh, good coffee - WHAT'S not to like!?

Very crowded Sunday afternoon. Parking lot full. Valet full. Parked in the Garfield lot and walked, which was fine, the weather was beautiful.  Found 2 seats at the bar, ordered 2 Miami Vices.  They are supposed to be layered strawberry daiquiri and piña colada. But instead we got a mushy mix of rum and melted slush. Not sure if they added too much rum? Although they didn't taste too strong. But they were cold and quenched my thirst. I then ordered a drink off their menu-country Thyme lemonade, it had fresh thyme and blueberries with vodka. Much better, lighter and not so sweet. Didn't order any food, not too much going on here, so we left. It's a good place to have drinks over looking the ocean.

Huge Disappoint! I stayed in this hotel January 17-20th and it wasn't great!  The hotel halls smelled, the air conditioning unit didn't work well, the toilets flushed itself every 40 to 45 minutes, and the elevators were the pits. The only good thing about this hotel was 1. It's directly on the beach, and 2. Alex the food and beverage manager. This hotel does not live up to marriotts reputation and you can probably find something a lot cheaper and better. The hotel staff were polite, politely blowing us off so we just stopped complaining. It was not worth the $239 we payed to stay. You've been informed.

Family and I have been coming here for over a decade now and the high quality of service has not changed at all. The rooms are attended to in a timely manner and the staff are very personable and wish us a good day.

The only two negatives are that the i got the country lemonade at the bar (as well as a few others) and must day that these are some of the worst cocktails I've ever had. The servers in the restaurant are a tad forgetful at times as well, but they're incredibly busy with the other customers so it's understandable.

I had a great visit to the Hollywood Marriott the First week of May. I could the staff very friendly and responsive and the hotel in great condition. Good location. Only draw back was they were changing carpet on 10th floor and I was on the 9th floor listening to the floor scrapping all night but just one nite. So progress goes with upgrades. It's a shame, this place is filthy. I don't know how someone can give this place glowing reviews. We ended up choosing this hotel based off the reviews bc the convention hotel (The Diplomat) was booked and we didn't realize just how close Miami was. If your going to fork out $400 a night, please do yourself a favor and go a couple more miles south the Diplomat, Trump International and even more choices in Sunny Isles and Miami are worth your hard earned money.

I don't even know where to start so let's go with housekeeping.  My 2 yr old poured sand out of his shoe on the first day and the pile sat there for 4 days. Obviously, they don't vacuum regularly. I came in one day, around 3, and housekeeping was in the room so I changed my kids out of swimsuits and we headed to concierges lounge. While in the room I noticed 2 glasses in the bathroom sink. We left, and I forgot my phone and went back in to grab it and the lady was in the bathroom wiping the glasses out. I looked and didn't see any glasses on the cart so it looks like she was hand cleaning the glasses in the bathroom sink. Luckily we hadn't used them to drink from, my son soaked some sea shells and coral in them. We used the pull out for our 2 small boys and called down for extra bedding and after waiting an hour and they hadn't come; we called again. They finally came 5 min later and brought the roughest most uncomfortable blanket I've ever seen. I swear it was made from cardboard. We asked for something softer and they didn't have anything. We actually went to Walmart and bought a $20 blanket for the boys to sleep with bc it was that uncomfortable. My husband got ice one night and the bucket sat on the desk with the plastic bag and water (melted ice) for 2 days before I emptied it and threw the bag away. Housekeeping never replaced the bag.

We had concierges lounge access and wow, that place is filthy too. They also don't have many tables so we didn't get breakfast bc there was no place to sit a couple days. Wasted money there. The chairs are covered in a golden color and there were multiple stains on every chair, it was pretty off putting. Also, when we checked in we were not given any info on the concierges lounge or even where it was. It's on the penthouse level. I had to ask front desk where it was and they still didn't tell me anything about it. The girls working were nice and friendly (maybe a little too chatty at times) and filled me in on when things changed out.

We paid $400 a night for a king bed suite and a partial beach view. We did have a partial beach view BUT with more rooftop and AC units than beach. At $400 a night in a suite, I don't want to open the shades and see grey rooftop and AC units. Also, don't plan on a restful night, unless a toilet flushing every 30-45 minutes is relaxing to you. The was also no tub. I don't know if all rooms are minus the tub or if we had the ADA room. We didn't request that and no tub with a 2 yr old who HATES showers is a real pain.

The pool is tiny and half the hotel guest were in it at all times. It didn't look like you could move without bumping someone. The water was a little hazy, gag. I'm guessing there was more pee than clean water based on how crowded that tiny pool was. I refused to let my kids go in the pool. We stuck to the beach or the little splash park half a mile away.

This Marriott is a Bad location if you are a loyal Marriott Costumer a d if you are used to Good Service and great hospitality ....

I did not stay in this hotel but I live in Aventura and visit this location very often when I go to the beach so I can eat and take sun at the same time...  NOT ANYMORE! !! Their good service to marriott members that are not staying but howver spending money on their premises is GONE... the Valet guy on Sunday is very rude and not only told us  "is only for guest" but told us to get out of here, their food in the boardwalk restaurant takes forever and the quality is not that good for the price their are asking our server was kind of rude and when we asked if they served food to the beach (which they used to do) they look at me and gave me a dry (NO WE ARE TOO BUSY) ... I undestand is a very busy season but you CANNOT love your local costumers on low season and hate them in busy season... Hospitality means GOOD service at all times. Not going back!!!
