Excellent place to stay! It doesn't look like much from the street, but the courtyard is wonderful and the staff is just as friendly and helpful as can be.  And, you're just steps away from a really nice spot on the beach!  My wife and I just stayed for one night before our cruise, but we'll definitely be returning for a longer stay!

We just spent a week at the Ocean Inn, a gay owned, everyone is welcome 23 room small hotel just steps from a beautiful beach in Hollywood, Florida.  The Inn is an oasis of friendly people, a beautiful tropical courtyard for reading, grilling, sunning and chatting.  The rooms themselves are not fancy but they are kept very clean.  When we complained that the bed was too soft, Scott, the owner, removed the bed and delivered a brand new bed to our room!  Phil took care of our every need.  A daily continental breakfast is served, and unlike many places I've been where it disappears before I wake up, they kindly leave it out till 11! The Inn is just 15 minutes from the Ft Lauderdale airport and for us, located perfectly.  Close enough to the big cities when we wanted some activities, but away from the crowd for a quiet, beautiful, tropical vacation.

Great find!  You can't go wrong at the Ocean Inn.  Everyone is so friendly, the grounds are nicely maintained, and Scott, one of the owners, will do anything to ensure your stay is a good one.  I will definitely be back.

After receiving a phone call from the wonderful folks at Royal Caribbean ( I thought it was a friend of mine playing a joke on me at first) offering me a two day, all-expense-paid trip for members of the press, on the innaugural launch of their newest ship, Allure of the Seas my first phone call was to my friend Phillip; since I was scheduled to be visiting him in Savannah around the date of departure I needed to know if he had made previous plans for us on Thanksgiving and if so were the plans something we could graciously opt-out of without Phillip being drummed out of the Junior League.

My second call was to my friends Scott & Emilio, owners of the Ocean Inn, a truly unique, boutique Bed & Breakfast with whom I always make a point to "get in bed and stay with" whenever I visit South Florida. They're located on the northern end of the boardwalk in Hollywood Florida, a much quieter location then South Beach but equal distance to Fort Lauderdale, just steps from the sand and surf and a mere 8 minutes from both the Fort Lauderdale Airport and Port Everglades Cruise Terminal.

The perfect location to start and end your cruise with."Family" owned and operated for over ten years the former crack house, now an award winning Inn has been lovingly transformed into a 11 room architectural gem offering a truly unique lodging experience, with each room opening onto a small, intimate courtyard. You can both see and feel the care and attention to detail Scott & Emilio have given the property the minute you arrive. In fact from the moment you enter the property, the peaceful gardens, with flowing water will  immediately give you a sense of calmness that'll envelope you like a warm summer sun.

Having been a former flight attendant based in Miami, I spent a great deal of time on South Beach, I find the Ocean Inn to be quite similar in pace and It always gives me a feeling or  sense of being home, which is so important to me; Of course this is due in no small part to Ada and Stephanie, a beautiful Puerto Rican mother and daughter who treat hotel guests as though we're members of their family, evidenced on our most recent stay.

Ada had become concerned Phillip and I were away from home on Thanksgiving and insisted we join her and her family; when we politely declined her gracious invitation for us to intrude on her families celebration, we opened our door a few hours later to find three generations of Ada's family standing before us, happily presenting Phillip and I with the most beautiful and tasty traditional Puerto Rican Thanksgiving dinner we've ever had. I'm not ashamed to admit to you, we both cried like babies.

Continental Breakfast is served each and every morning around 7:30 AM and offered until 11:30 AM including hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, coffee and tea and muffins made from scratch which are to die for.The Ocean Inn is so convenient to all South Florida has to offer and everywhere you look are people of all nationalities, both gay and straight, biking, rollerblading, and walking; Stroll along the Historic Hollywood Boardwalk it'll inspire your senses not to mention your appetite.

The night before Thanksgiving Phillip and I decided to take a walk along the boardwalk and found ourselves smack dab in front of  the Hollywood Theater where a live band was performing to a packed house of party people at the cities new bandstand afterward we grabbed a slice of New York style pizza at Rocco's.The hotel is a multiple award winner (2007, 2008 & 2009) "White Glove Awards" for tested Housekeeping and the "Award of Excellence" from the Greater Ft. Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau as one of the highest reviewed properties in their Superior Small Lodging Program as well and as if that is not enough they were voted the Hollywood Gazette's reader's choice for 2008 and 2009 "Best of Hollywood" and most recently they received the 2009 Sensational Service Award from The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

The Ocean Inn is located at 3405 North Ocean Drive Hollywood Florida 33019. For more information you may visit them on the web at OceanInnHollywood.com email them at   Innkeeper@OceanInnHollyw… or by phone 954.923.0313. You won't be disappointed.

Very cute place right on the beach. Clean rooms, friendly staff; very accommodating  and a quaint Key West feel. We'll be back.

We enjoyed our stay. These are the nicest people you will ever meet! They took great care of us. The best part was finding out (from the wonderful Philip) there is a train close by that goes directly to the airports, thus saving us a lot of money in taxis AND Philip was so sweet he gave us a lift! The beaches are lovely and close by. A very friendly down to earth town and beautiful boardwalk.
