Not a bad place for a one-night stay - quiet rooms, free parking, pool/tiki bar area, free breakfast (that was so-so), free wi-fi and friendly staff.  Easy to get to - close to 95, but farther away from downtown, bars, etc. Got a really good price on Travelocity.

Yeah, this is definitely a budget/cheap hotel for folks passing through fort Laudy either to or from a cruise. Or someone (like myself) going to conference on an extremely tight budget (rates usually in $65 range). They have shuttle service to/from the airport, cruiseport and conference center, though it can be painstakingly slow and not super reliable, but if you factor a good amount of extra time its not that big a deal. They have a pool and a cabana bar that opens around 4 everyday with $3 draft beers and $6 mixed drinks (pretty cheap by hotel standards.

No room service but a dude grills burgers/chicken by the pool most nights. And if not there's a taco bell, mcdonalds, burger king, gas station kwik-e-mart (sells beer and wine) and barnes and noble/starbucks next door. The rooms are functional, though its one of those motel-style hotels where all the rooms open directly to the outside. But they do have free Wifi for yelping on the road.

If you end up staying up real late drinking at the bar you can meet some real interesting people AND watch a family of raccoons run around the pool.

Never again.  Had an overnight layover in Ft. Lauderdale and needed a hotel that was close to the airport and provided free shuttle service for a super-duper early flight the next day (6:15am flight).  Called ahead to inquire about shuttle service, spoke with the front desk and was assured that there would be no problem.

When we arrived at the airport and called for the shuttle, we were told it was at the airport and would wait for my sister and I as the shuttle runs just 2x per hour.  When we were about 50 feet away, the shuttle pulled away.  We called the hotel to ask the shuttle to return.  We were told it would not be a problem, but waited 45 minutes for another shuttle to show up.  Once we arrived at the hotel, we were told our flight was too early and the shuttle would not be active that early in the morning.  (First shuttle leaves at 5ish).

Mind you, we discovered this after calling to make sure that we would have a shuttle available to us.  So, we were charged $159 (excluding all taxes) and had to pitch in for a taxi that charges ~$25 to go 2.1 miles in the morning.

When we arrived in our ground-floor room, we couldn't get the doors open.  It took us three tries of butting our shoulders into the door to get it to budge out of the frame.  The room was relatively clean, but dirty washcloths were left behind in our bathroom and our refrigerator was not working.

The beds and pillows were the only positive during our stay.  After traveling in Latin America for several weeks and staying in hostels throughout, it felt like heaven to lie down on a decent bed with more than a single flat pillow.

No room service, although there is a grill available by the pool where for approximately $6.50, you can get a hamburger grilled to order.  If you don't want your CC info written down by the bar/grill tender, make sure to bring cash.  Breakfast buffet starts at 6am, but could not judge it since we left the hotel before 5 am.

this hotel is very great for the price I paid... many reviews for this hotel say their bugs and the rooms look old and dirty... Not in my room, my room was great and clean... I check for bugs and THERE ARE NO BUGS.. I did get my room changed once because where my room was at, it was near the elevator and all I heard in the morning was people rolling their stuff and talking. so I got my room changed right away. OVERALL THE HOTEL is great!!!! The breakfast is great for the price. The surrounding area is GREAT BECAUSE its near the airport, its also near a mall and tons of food places to eat at.  The bed was very comfort and nice. If you ever have a problem just tell the front desk and they will take care of it. The staff members are friendly and nice. I would come back... because of the free breakfast, parking, FREE RIDE TO THE AIRPORT AND PORT. in addition you could leave your car at this hotel for 6 dollars a day while away on a cruise.. THAT IS NOT BAD AT ALL.. I DONT KNOW another hotel that allows that...

I booked this through Hotwire for our stay before and after our cruise.
I can "rough it" to save a few bucks, but the rooms here are below acceptable.  Had two different rooms.  Oddly enough, we had tiny ants in both rooms.  When the constantly running toilet water became a nuisance, the maintenance man was summoned.  He told me "it can't be fixed".  I would have left if I hadn't pre-paid with Hotwire (they DO NOT give refunds).
The positive is they have a nice pool area with a cabana bar.  Morning breakfast is well-stocked but EXTREMELY busy.

Ghetto! I'm from LA and have seen my share of ghetto areas. Maybe it was just culture shock but then again, who sh@ts in a pool?
We only stayed here one night but that was more than enough. After coming back from dinner there was a pool party taking place with many 18 packs of Budweiser at hand.
Breakfast is a nice spread but poorly executed.
Long story short stay somewhere else if you can.

You get what you pay for in this place.  Rooms are old and they smell and feel that way.  But, it's cheap.

I won't be going back.

We have stayed here each time we needed an overnight before a cruise...satisfied in the past. However, very disappointed since Quality Inn has taken over this year. Outside rooms on 2nd floor have musty odor, damp carpet. Air conditioner old and not functioning properly.Small plastic glasses and thin soap bars scream "cheap".  Mini-fridge had been removed from room. Breakfast provided, but only part of 1 toaster worked in dining room. Ice maker on 2nd floor disgustingly dirty. Had to call front desk 3 times and wait 2 hours for bath towels, which had not been left when room was cleaned.
We had to call front desk several times and wait an hour for shuttle pick up at cruise port..several vans drove by and refused to pick us up.
Positives: friendly staff,: convenient to cruise port, free shuttle included, mini-mall within walking distance.
In summary, not worth the $$. Hope Quality Inn will make improvements and take more pride in this property.

nice pool
free breakfast

Rooms look motel-ish.  Kinda ghetto

If you just need a place to crash before or after a cruise and you don't have expectations of a pretty room, it's not bad, but go with low expectations.

decent pool
free breakfast
provide shuttle to & from airport
provide shuttle to & from cruise port

rooms have a musty smell
wifi log-in confusing
breakfast area too small

Came here for an overnight stay before our cruise and really all we needed was a bed since we were there less then 24 hours, however, this "hotel" is more of a motel. The rooms and elevator has a musty smell to it.

On Sunday morning instead of fighting through the huge crowd of people for breakfast we just walked to McDonald's.

You get what you pay for.

Thanks so much!!! People here are so nice! Service was good checking in but what gave this place 5 stars was the major gesture they did for me. I forgot a teddy bear that I purchased for new baby nephew in the room and the man at the front desk was soooo nice enough to have the next shuttle meet us at the airport with it! Thank u so much again to the driver and the sweet dude at the front desk!

I'm disappointed with some of the unfair reviews. I stayed here with my family last week as a stay over before leaving for a cruise and it was fine.  The rooms were very dated but I never felt they were in disrepair nor did I ever feel unsafe.  Pool area was nice. Has a good continental breakfast and the staff was friendly.  Definitely not a vacation spot but for a temporary stay it's not bad.

Okay. This is a motel. Beat up and rough around the edges. I guess okay for a quick night, but definitely no longer than that. That works for this place, as most of the people who stayed here were going on a cruise the next day. Breakfast was typical, but the Cuban restaurant on the other side of the highway was awesome!

Family Reunion picked here due to location to airport. The rooms have musty smell. The breakfast is ok but not something I will be getting out of my bed for...tv, alarm clock not working..bath towels are questionable...they changed our room because of the smell but the new room was still had issues.  This is not a place I want to stay again.

This place was beyond horrible. Probably the worst hotel I've been to. I came here after my cruise and it was pretty dirty in my opinion. The room I was offered had their fridge removed, some parts of the a.c. was broken and one accidentally fell on my foot and bruised it. Moreover, the pillows they give you are more like couch cushions than actual pillows. The hallway to the elevator was dark and seemed very unsafe. Also, when you step into the elevator, the light was dimmed, and kept blinking, almost like it was haunted. Overall, I wouldn't recommend any family staying over night here. It seems very sketchy. I don't think I'll ever come back.. I'm sorry.

There seems to be a constant party by the pool at this Comfort Inn... seriously. At night this was to be expected, but in the morning, the music was playing and the line for the Belgian waffle machine extended around the building and to the other side of the pool.  Guess everyone tried those cinnamon waffles (not recommended) and needed to go back for the real thing.

Like everyone else that stayed here, we were headed out to sea the next day and needed a cheap place to crash in the interim. The rooms have doors facing the outside, which to me is a negative. I always feel more comfortable with that extra level of security in between my sleeping self and the uncertainty of a new place.  The interior decor was clean enough, but definitely reminded me of some of those outdated 80's style rooms with the floral quilted bedspread, tiny TV, and bible in all the drawers.

If you need a cheap place to stay, it works! Do it! Cheap and close to port...

If you're looking for anything more... welp, that's up to you.

Room was dirty, I was moved 3 times, night manager Eddie was very rude and moved me out of the room I had been in for 4 days because it was not a pet friendly room. That was the room another manager had put me in. I had one night left. Rick is a very rude manager and needs to take a course on how to be polite to guests. Food was not great. I would suggest stay somewhere else

I ALWAYS enjoy staying at the Comfort Inn South in Ft Lauderdale, FL. While it may be an older facility, it is very comfortable. I am a cruise destination speaker and each time I have a venue out of Ft Lauderdale, my hotel of choice is the Comfort Inn and has been for ten years. The room is comfortable as are the amenities. I especially like the greeting gifts of bottled water, snacks, and peppermint drops. No other hotel that I know of has those kinds of welcoming specials.

The morning buffet is very loaded to the board and while it may not be a full course meal, one never goes away hungry!!

The staff is cordial and professional regards of the time of arrival or checkout.

I recommend Comfort Inn to all who may have need of it.

We needed a place to stay for the night. $60.00 including tax. Clean room, comfy beds, flat screen and great shower. Free breakfast in the morning. The people at the front desk were great. I would stay there again... No question.

Like so many others, I was here before a cruise and appreciated the shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port.

Check in was easy and convenient. The room was nice and a bit dated. We had to beds, so it felt a little cramped with the table and chairs in front of the windows. The furniture was odd, old and had openings for things no longer present, such as a safe and a fridge, but it was sturdy and useful.

I loved to proximity to shopping and restaurants in walking distance, as we needed things from the Kmart.

The staff was super friendly and the lobby was welcoming.
Our door was difficult to open and close.
New bathroom was nice and the shower pressure was great.
Quiet room on the 4th floor.

Breakfast was good, but not great. Eggs, sausage, cereal, 2 waffle stations, hard boiled eggs, danishes and donuts.

Pool area was nice with odd tables that made eating on them difficult because of the holes in the iron lattice. The inside area was very crowded.

I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Most horrific hotel experience, I booked this hotel as a pre-cruise hotel with parking option.
- no parking space was available, disaster!
- exterior door hotel, anybody can can excess your door, not secure.
- confirmed a room w. refrigerator, when arrived to room found a big dirty looking empty hole & no refrigerator.
-hotel moved me to a room w. refrigerator, but door was not locking from outside.
Hotel sent someone to do temporarily fix the door,
- toilets was not flushing, leaking water all night
- by the time I moved room to room hassling with everything not working in this OLD dinghy hotel, i was too tire...
- Really OLD, not kept in shape, Horrible customers service, I will never book another Quality inn.
Lodging standard is Horrible in this hotel, made me questions ownership and management of this brand.  I was very naive to book this brand hotel, truly horrible place.

Stayed here prior to a cruise.  Room was fine but was surprised with the limited number of channels on the TV.
The pickup and drop off service for the airport and cruise port was the main reason we chose the hotel (along with the price) and both were very good.  Expect a 15 - 20 minute wait for the van.
The complimentary breakfast has a nice variety but the hot food was universally bad.   I would suggest you stay with cereal, fruit or microwaved pastries.
Overall an pretty decent place to stay for one night.  More than that, look for a better place.

I would normally rate a hotel like this three stars, but I am disappointed with some of the unreasonable reviews and I was very happy with my stay here. It sounds like room prices are all over the map. I paid a little over $100 per night, and felt that was a fair price nowadays. Rooms are old, but the bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. I had no fridge in my room, but did not ask for one. The breakfast buffet has a good selection, but is crowded if you don't get there early. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. I did have to call twice from the airport to catch their shuttle, but that was the only snag during my stay here. I would absolutely come back.

Like so many others, I stayed one Friday night in this hotel before departing on a cruise. It came recommended by a family member who was also traveling on the cruise, so I didn't ask any questions -- I just went ahead and booked.

The free shuttle from the airport was nice, but took awhile to arrive after we called. The free shuttle to the cruise ship was also nice, but the boarding system was extremely disorganized. It was mass chaos consisting of people and luggage loitering near the front lobby area. The staff could have done a better job announcing the destination of each shuttle bus/van as it arrived.

The room itself was adequate. Nothing special, but it was clean. The wifi was very slow so I ended up relying on the 4G connection on my phone.

The continental breakfast was ok. My husband and I woke up very early, hit up the breakfast while no one was there (waffle maker is great when there's no line!), and then went back to sleep for a few hours.

The pool seems to be the hotel's official hang-out area. There is a nice little tiki bar there as well that has reasonably priced drinks.

Another reviewer mentioned that they paid $65/night -- I paid more like $165/night! Crazy. It must all depend on timing, but this hotel was definitely not worth the price I paid. For $65, I say go for it. For $100+, I would try looking elsewhere.

Roach motel. Literally. Aside from the late room availability (3 PM was "aspirational"), and the marginal sanitation, we saw roach after roach climbing over everything. Did NOT make for a restful night.

When our daughter was stuck on a late plane, the shuttle service had ended, and it was either a cab or is picking her up. So much for "convenience" of staying near the airport.

Follow up the next morning, after a fitful couple of hours of sleep among my multi-legged "companions."

Breakfast bar was completely inadequate to the seemingly hundreds of people who descended upon it, tended by one unfortunate valiant woman, completely unable to keep up with the demand. The eggs were clearly powdered, the "gravy" for the biscuits was scarce on the "sausage" lumps, and the whole carbohydrate-laden mess was being lapped up because of the word "free".

I have had far better value, and far better sanitation for less money (our favorite La Quinta, across the street was unavailable), but this franchise is milking the South Florida snowbird market.
Never again.

Stayed one night after helping a friend move. She had to pay a ridiculous rate for the room and it wasn't nearly worth it.

The front desk staff were nice. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the sheets were a bit on the scratchy side (200 thread count sheets are crappy) but very clean.

The shower was a joke. I'm not exceptionally tall (5'11") but I felt that way when I had to bend down to rinse my head and face. Also, it's so tiny that I could barely move. It was clean though, so it could have been worse.

I don't expect the place to be the Ritz Carlton, but for a total of $233 for one night I'd expect a whole lot more.

Clean room, nice service, but the rate was awful and price gouging is unacceptable.
