It gets two stars because its by the beach, otherwise, a terrible hotel. Worst customer service, people at the front desk are rude and they dont know what they are doing, they wasted 2 hours of our time between registration and checking out, it seems that our prepaid room didnt show as prepaid in their system.

Giving it a star more than it deserves because it was so darn cheap and while you get what you pay for in life, this was, we thought, a bit more than that.  To start with, it is in Holloywood.  Hollywood is funky and if you don't like that, go elsewhere.  So, given that we wanted a bit of funkyness but not ready to go completely down scale to the 50's styled motels that are stuffed between the 2-3 blocks between A1A and the water, the Ramada served us well.  The rooms weren't sure if they wanted to be studio apartments or hotel rooms and I gather, like many of the quasi grand dames of old, they started their conversion to condos but don't want to loose hotel revenues quite yet.  Complimentary continental breakfast was ok for free but I wouldn't pay much for it.  Decent bar out back between the pool and ocean with live music on weekend nights... a big plus.  Mostly locals ther (crowd looked like a cast party for the Big Lebowski).  We had very little contact with the staff but check in/out was fast and smooth.

I did not seem to have the same customer service problems as the other reviewers. The staff was very nice to me. If you stay here make sure you get one of the rooms that is renovated. It is probably cheaper than any other hotel on the beach where you can have an ocean view from your room. It is very convenient for the beach and O'Malley's beach bar is there as well. My room had a full size refrigerator, a stove and microwave. There is also a nice little store in the lobby to buy drinks, snacks, beer, etc along with several cheesy t-shirt stores.  This hotel is by no means luxury, but if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay on the beach and want to spend more time on the beach than in your room this is not a bad place and it is less than half of the price of the Marriott down the street, which is much nicer but you will pay the price.

Big place, a lot to offer but hidden fees. I booked it on Expedia for $83.73 but as I checked in there was a $10.00 reservation fee. Wish they post that up on the website or so.

Oh where to begin....They called us several times to confirm our arrival flight time so one would assume they might actually be there, but no it took them another 25 to get there.  We were standing exactly where they told us to, yet the driver breezes past us as we're waiving our hands in the air.  Then he never came back so we ended up taking a cab.  The hotel felt so bad they comped our return shuttle plus upgraded us to a suite and a few free breakfasts.  What I don't understand is the website says the shuttle is complimentary yet they were trying to charge us $9.00 per person.

Then we get in our room and two days later there's a major gas leak!  The maintenance man came and turned it off and we left the AC on and opened the windows.  Three hours later we come back to find that someone had closed the windows and turned the AC off so the gas that had leaked just stayed in our room.  Later that night we came back and had to actually change rooms because the leak was so bad.

They moved us to a room right next door and began tearing apart the gas filled room bright and early the next morning.  Hammers tearing down walls at 8 AM isn't my idea of a good morning wake up call!

The rooms were vintage, a bit on the dirty side.  On the 6th floor the rooms are all timeshares so they only get cleaned on Wednesdays.  WTF?!?!  To make matters worse our door wouldn't close unless you had a running start and body slammed the door shut.

Do yourself a favor and don't stay at this hotel!

Nothing fancy, but clean, nice simple breakfast and good little saltwater pool! LOTS of faux-rock decor...

Very reasonable price but you get what you pay for.  The hotel is located on the beach.  The service was okay and the rooms were bare bones.  The free breakfast was worth what you paid for it.  The shuttle is not free and the resort fee was also a surprise to me.  The big issue I had was that apparently two hotel companies were sharing the same building which was very confusing and inconvenient.  The first person you talked to inevitably referred you to the "other desk".  Apparently the two owners are in the midst of litigation.   For their sake I hope this ends soon because it impacts service and makes them look silly.

Where do I begin with this disaster of a stay.  On day 2 they never came and cleaned the room or gave us new towels, soap, shampoo, etc...  We had to go to front desk and tell them to send someone to clean the room the next day.  Then when they came to clean it they didn't even vacuum or clean!  All they did was make the beds and replace the towels!  We were shocked to say the least.
On top of all this the Internet does not work.  Hotel staff dropping the "f bomb" in the hall ways and the list goes on.  The only good thing is the location is on the beach and that is it.
Bathroom had mold in the shower.  This place is a 100% dump!!!!  You been warned!

Nominated for the shittiest 2014 Hotel Award.

Not sure how it's still legal to run such a dumb. Mold is my new best friend now, ceiling is about to fall on my head. AC is letting out poison that I think I am getting a high out of it.

This place should be burned !!!

Paying $120 per night for a king size ocean view, we got more than we expected. The room was beautiful, bed comfortable, hotel staff courteous. The pillows offered less than acceptable head support, but we had 7,000 of them. lol. We were having trouble with the cable at 10pm, called the desk and a service man was there within 10 minutes to address the problem. Modern fixtures, good lighting, wi-fi, quiet. Real glasses, not those plastic, plastic wrapped ones from cheap hotels. No balcony rooms, but our window had a great view of the ocean. Valet parking.

The hotel is located over a two story mall. I expected a bustle of traffic and flourishing stores, but the mall was almost empty, except a cheap jewelry store and a tourist clothing shop (with screen shirts,  beach towels, bathing suits, etc). Eerie. The so called 'free breakfast' was lame. Coffee or juice in a shot glass and a roll or cereal in a toy bowl. Not cool. The hotel is directly adjacent to the beach and it is in midway in the broadwalk, making it a great location. The pool was sizable and enjoyable. The bar was outside and had a good view of the beach. I enjoyed most of the bartenders, but a couple had less than hospitable personalities. The bar was the only hotel restaurant.

Overall, I recommend Ramada for the traveler who is looking for the average hotel with average amenities, below average cost, and above average location - aka ON THE BEACH. :)
