The front desk was very helpful, a very quite peaceful place...

I stayed here in January and was very pleasantly surprised with how nice this hotel is appointed.  They are in the midst of refurbishing this property.  You have a bedroom, separate sitting area, full kitchen, full size refrigerator and quartz or granite counters in the kitchen and bath.  The recliner looked "tired", but the front desk said they will be replaced as soon as they are shipped.  Quiet location.  Easy access to I-95.

Staff nice, but room was very dated and worn.   80's era decor.  "Old" smell in lobby and room.

The rates are awesome! It is a clean hotel, very nice. I was kind of sad when I found out it didn't have a pool, but it does have a gym. The pillows are so comfy!!! I have had two complaints though... The refrigerator makes popping noises every few minutes, it got on our nerves so bad that my boyfriend unplugged it. The front desk said they replaced quite a few, and offered for us to move to another room. We were already settled in and declined, it wasn't that big of a deal. The second issue... there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, let's just say ewwwww if you share your room with someone. (I love my boyfriend, but I don't want to smell him) I would definitely stay in another Candlewood Suite despite the minor issues we had!

Hard not to give it anything but a 5. I've never been to or even hear of candlewood suites before so I figured what the heck for the price. So glad I chose to stay here. Me and the fiancé loved it. For the price there IS NO BETTER hotel out there. Set up as studios it virtually gives you the option to have a much more affordable vacation in the sense you can stay in and cook with the provided stove, fridge, and microwave. Clean room and arrived in town at about 2 am and they have mini safes that have your key in it so you can just put in the safe code and go. Comes with a laundry room for those on a business trip staying for longer. Just a 5 star expierence and hotel.

Definitely recommended. Nice folks. Dog friendly with a grassy area for walking pets (although I was afraid an alligator might pop out at any moment). They have a gym and an honor-system mini convenience store. Nice.

Although newly remodeled, with nice appliances, bathrooms and decor....I was greeted with a dead roach upon entering my room. Also, I noticed my nightstand to be sticky and with unwanted hair on it. Furthermore, there was this musty odor in the hallways that almost made me sick. The smell reminded me of an elderly nursing home.
Apparently, this is an extended stay type of hotel. For some reason, there isn't someone at the front desk 24/7 like in conventional hotels. There's a sign on the desk with a phone instructing to dial "0" for assistance for after hours. 6pm is after hours for them. It gave me an eerie feeling. I wouldn't stay there again!!

The room was very clean . It was a decent price and the beds were not horrible for a hotel it have slept on way worse. There was absolutely no bugs and plenty of full size towels. Would definitely stay there again . The only thing is we were not there for long so we did not really get to see the gym or laundry facility because we only stayed one night. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great place.  I little odd in that the building doesn't have the obligatory covered drive-up/unloading area  that most hotels do.  But checkin was a breeze, had a great conversation with the clerk about travel in general, and Grand Canyon in particular.  The room was crisp and clean.  I love how this place has a kitchen, though I didn't use it.
I checked out early and without warning and the front desk handled it quickly and professionally.
    I'll be back!

This is an extended stay hotel, but we only stayed a night because the rates were still cheaper than most of the surrounding hotels, and you got a full kitchen with it to boot.  The room was gorgeous, the fitness center, laundry and pantry room were all conveniently located and well appointed, and the staff was very friendly.  My only complaint was that the floors seem to be a little thin or maybe we just had loud neighbors, because it sounded like the person above us was walking on their heels the whole time.  Didn't really hear anyone on either side of us, just some yahoos in the hallway at 2am.  Otherwise it was very quiet and I will probably be staying here again when visiting Jacksonville.

First let me say that this hotel is in a great location. It's perfectly situated between southside Jacksonville and downtown. It's right off I95 and US1 and is very easy to get to.

This hotel is very nice. The front desk staff are helpful and courteous. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very contemporary looking.

The only thing you need to be aware of is that all of the rooms here have only one bed. Since I travel with a group of 8 people, that's our only issue because we have to get double the amount of rooms. Otherwise this hotel is pretty sweet place.

Nice hotel, it looked bleah outside and lobby, and i was surprised when i walked into the room.  It was bigger than I thought and pretty.  the kitchen was pretty big - if you want to cook, this is the place.
wanted to go to the dog park next to the hotel but didnt get to.
friendly staff - they were very helpful with info around the town.
