I hate to write this review, but this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. I have stayed in Marriotts since I was a child and nothing compares to this. I have been used to nothing but the best from Marriot...  Several friends and I were making a long trip to Florida to go on a cruise. Knowing we would be arriving after midnight, we called ahead to make sure everything was fine, which they said it was.

When we arrived at 2am, we not only had to wait an entire hour for a room, but the employee on duty said that our room was not paid for and requested we do so then. My Dad made reservation, upgraded our rooms, and paid for everything prior to the night. After calling Marriott, it turned out the employee had made an error, but instead of apologizing or offering compensation for the hour-long wait, he continued to act like it was our fault. Not to mention, during our time waiting at the desk, another customer came downstairs complaining - apparently the employee had  checked him into and given him keys to an already occupied room. Wow...

We stayed here for two days for an event nearby, the hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. There is a Wal-Mart attached to the parking lot nearby, so if you forget something, it's an easy walk across the parking lot. The Bistro downstairs is *slow, no pun intended. The front-desk lady informed us that they cook to order, which they do, but they are usually severely under-staffed in the kitchen and the bartender is the cook and the waiter all in one. It makes getting any kind of decent service next to impossible, but the food is good for hotel lobby. I had scrambled eggs with potatoes and my wife had french toast for breakfast and everything was fresh and delicious. In the evening after the event there was a dinner rush and it took a while to get our food, but we got our drinks pretty fast so we did not mind much. There is a Ruby Tuesday across the street, so that's another option.  The rooms and the lobby were very clean, the area around the hotel is well maintained.

Great hotel for the price.  Very near to WalMart in case you forget something.  We stayed here and after our cruise with a group friends. Everybody pleased with their rooms and the service for our group rate was unbeatable.  i would definitely stay here again.

With any business, service is #1.  When a business like Marriott-- particularly this one in Jacksonville-- goes over and above, ya gotta stop to call that out.

Here's my story:  after staying overnight at this super clean, well appointed place, my colleague and I walked out to our rental car to go to the airport.  Now, in Florida, it seems that every rental car is white and 4 doors-- at least it did it me, as I pushed the button on the key FOB to open the trunk.

"That's odd," I thought as I opened the trunk, "it seems to have been jarred open".  I proceeded to load my and my colleague's bags into the trunk and slam it shut to make sure it stayed that way.  Boy did it ever.  The only problem was-- as I went to open the car doors-- it wasn't our rental!  The trunk hadn't been fully shut apparently and now we were without our bags and had to be on our way.

A quick, nervous, funny conversation with Ashley at the front desk reassured us.  She took my cell # and called me as developments occurred (thankfully, the person whose car it was read my note and brought the luggage back to Ashley).

Both bags arrived at their destinations- Chicago and NY-- without a hitch.  Their GM even personally took the NYC-bound bag to the FedEx office.  Now that is attention to detail.

Thank you, Marriott!  We'll stay here again.

I stayed here for 2 days during my trip to the east coast and it is pretty amazing. The rooms are very nice and spacious and the customer service is very good. The interior of the room is very modern and it includes a fridge and a microwave. The cable tv is clear unlike other hotels where all the channels are fuzzy. I had a chance to eat the food downstairs and its not half bad. There is a walking literally walking distance from the hotel which makes it convenient to get water and supplies.
