Not a bad place to crash going out of or into Jacksonville.  The rooms are clean and the staff aim to please. The cost tends to be fair for being in the airport area, and they provide free breakfast with fresh fruit and coffee.  I don't think I'd stay here for an extended stay, but a day here or there... good place for a decent price.

    Old, so very very old!

Otherwise, though, the hotel was very clean and pretty well maintained.  When I stumbled in the door at midnight they offered to help me up to my room with my bags and asked if they'd like me to bring up anything from the giftshop.  Unfortunately pretty much hit the bed and was out.

This place was incredibly welcoming when my much-delayed flight finally arrived into JAX at 2am (I panned my plan to drive to Tallahassee that night and needed a hotel instead).  They were still open, gave me a discounted rate, and the staff was very helpful.  I was ushered into a decent sized room with a wonderfully comfortable king-size bed that I simply fell into and slept for a full 8 hours undisturbed.

Breakfast was HOT, which is clutch.  I'd've liked more vegetarian options, but the eggs and waffle maker did the trick.  Plus, the coffee was drinkable, which is saying something for a hotel!

There's parking a-plenty, an airport shuttle, and I believe a shuttle to the nearest port for cruise departures, based on a conversation I overheard between staff and another guest.

Free wifi too :)  (I think this should be a must for all hotels!)

I'm a huge Marriott fan. Everywhere you go, you get pretty much the same experience and this hotel is no exception.
I checked in extremely late and I was happy to see a smiling, courteous front desk attendant waiting for me with keys ready to go.
Rooms are clean, rates are cheap and points are abundant... Everything a regular traveler needs

I belong to the Marriott Affinity Program and am predisposed to stay at one of their facilities. I stayed here on the day that the University of Florida and University of Georgia played their football game in Jacksonville. The hotel was full, and I was afraid that I might not have a night of peaceful rest because of post-game celebrating. Since the hotel was north of J'ville, most of the occupants were UGA fans. They didn't have cause to celebrate.  Like all Fairfield Inns they had a breakfast buffet that was well-stocked with the usual items. I had a pleasant and restful stay. I would stay here again.

We were traveling north on I-95 and pulled in for a night's sleep before continuing on in the morning.  We had a room on the 3rd floor with a king-sized bed.  The room was spacious, very clean with new furnishings and was nice and quiet.  We enjoyed hot showers with great water pressure.  The bed linens were soft and cozy and we were able to use the free Wifi with no trouble.   The hot breakfast was favorable with a variety of eggs, rolls, cereals and beverages.    Check-out was a at noon.

We had some trouble driving to the place, as we missed the one turn, and found ourselves at the airport.   There were lots of restaurants nearby as well as shopping.

We stopped here on our travels during the holidays. It was an overnight on our way to Charleston, SC.  We arrived after dark and checked it pretty easily.  Before heading up to the rooms, I grabbed a coffee while others in our group tried the cookies that where available.  I appreciate having these amenities available when you arrive later.  Sometimes you're not ready for bed and may want to just relax.  The coffee was lukewarm, but tasted decent. It's a "house blend" so more on the medium roast side, in case you are a strong coffee drinker.
Heading up to the room, the thing I found odd was there was only one elevator.  Not an issue for us, but we did manage to fill it with only 4 of us and our luggage.  It made me think what would happen at busy times or if the one elevator broke down?  Maybe they have another one we just didn't see?  Again, not an issue for us at the time, just something we noticed.
Once we made it to our rooms, as per usual with Marriott hotels our room was similar to the brand we know.  The hotel itself seems older, however they have done a pretty good job of making it feel comfortable and clean which is very important to us.  The size of the room was comfortable as was the bed.
We had to work the following morning so the WiFi came in handy and worked out just fine for the two of us in the room.  I really liked that we could move the desk out to accommodate both of us.  Before working, we went down for breakfast.  The set up is pretty standard for Fairfield, and it was a decent set up.    The breakfast area is comfortable and what I would expect for this brand. No complaints.
Upon leaving for our next destination, we brought our luggage out to the car and headed out.  One thing that struck me as odd was we had 4 of us leaving at the same time with all of our luggage that  morning walking through the lobby, and the person at the front desk didn't look up or acknowledge us. It just struck me as odd since I would think in hospitality you would always want to acknowledge guests, especially when they are on their way out. It's not a huge deal, just something that stuck out.  All in all, we had a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone traveling through or staying for business in Jacksonville.
