Stayed here twice. Both times the staff was more than accommodating. The room was an accessible suite. It was spacious and clean. The free breakfast was better than most. While I didn't get a chance to use them, the indoor pool and hot tub looked very nice. For one of Hilton's business hotels, this was a very nice one.

If you need to visit the Mayo Clinic this is 7 minutes away. At the time of this review they offered a Mayo rate of $89/night.

This Hampton Inn opened in the past year or so. I stayed for 13 days in Feburary 2011.

The layout is standard - they have a nicer business center, average pool and fitness center. The laundry was only one washer and dryer which was inconvenient.  Breakfast was served earlier that most Hampton Inns, probably on account of the large military and retiree presence in Jacksonville.

A couple of things put it below the average Hampton Inn.

First, there are two types of water in Jacksonville - pond water smell or chlorinated to hell smell. This Hampton has pond water smell.  I would prefer the chemicals, but that's just me.

Second, the evening service was very lacking. When I asked, they said they don't "do" the cookies/fruit/coffee set up that you see in most Hampton Inns because they are new. Somehow I didn't get the logic there.

Third, the staff was VERY uneven. Of the two night clerks during my stay, I would avoid one all together. The few times I asked for simple things like change for the washer or a copy of the receipt, she acted very annoyed that I was disturbing her Facebook time. To be fair, the other one was amazing with her customer service and was very helpful. For an experiment, I did the same task on different nights just to see if it was that difficult or there really was a difference.

The biggest plus is the location. It was a short drive to the beach and other beach-side attractions, about a half hour into the city proper. For the price, it's a bargain compared to other hotels in the area.

Good location and nice lay out. Clothes were stolen from our room and we were simply offered an apology from the housekeeping manager. She said she asked her employees but none knew whether the clothes had gone. Apparently, the hotel contracts out their cleaning services so the hotel manager said they really couldn't do anything and did not offer any kind of compensation or discount on our stay. ( even though they have a sign that says if you aren't 100% satisfied you don't pay) I wasn't expecting not to pay but I was expecting to at least be given a discount or some compensation for my clothes which will be expensive to replace as we are traveling. Very disappointing for sure. After clothes went missing, we stayed in the room when the cleaner came. On a positive note, the breakfast server was very nice and the front desk answered all of our questions and were helpful.

Slimy, overly softened, water to the point you can't rinse off soap.  AC too warm and appears to be limited by central control. Desk staff was indifferent and unwelcoming. Otherwise, room was clean and in good condition.  Would be 4 stars without the slimy soft water, but that was enough to make me cut stay short and move elsewhere.

Run down hotel, dreadful staff. We checked in with Brittany, presumably the manager, who decided that her foul mood was going to affect everyone she met. She assured us that we could check in early (after a long bicoastal flight), then actually YELLED at us (including my elderly father in law) when we asked why the room wasn't ready hours later. Yes, she actually yelled at the customers and attempted to put them on their places. They were having issues with their electrical and water supply because...they're basic like that.Our pool view room overlooked a cloudy pool filled with leaves.

Hampton Inn management, please rethink your local hiring process. Why pay more for a Hampton when it's this crappy? Your staff are rude, lazy and unhygienic across the board. Next.

My husband and I stayed here when we were on a house hunting trip (he is being relocated).  It was very clean, quiet, and the staff was great.  My only complaint is the weird lady who showed up every time we left our room - I think she freaked out the front desk people as much as us - but she was a guest so there wasn't much anyone could do about that!!

Our new house is close to this location so if we ever need an overflow place for people to stay I will recommend this Hampton!!
