    I thought the King Room for $59.00 was great value. I was road weary and and it was very convenient from I-95. The lobby had been remodeled recently. By the looks they went to Ikea. Actually its a nice layout. They had a bar that served light fare like salads and sandwiches. The room was clean but not as up to date as the lobby. Some of the wallpaper was peeling of the wall.  The bed was comfortable, It had a plasma TV and free high speed internet connection.

    What I like about staying at Hampton is that the chain is so consistent. I never really have to do any guess work as far what to expect.

    Now, this one is located in Jacksonville, and it's rather old. There needs to be some updating here. The hall ceilings are low and I feel somewhat crowded in it.

    The room is clean and adequate, but not anything extraordinary by any means. It's just OK.

    Pretty decent. Continental breakfast in the morning.

    Firm beds, not a big fan.

    Thin walls, so you can hear everything in the hallways if you are a light sleeper.

    Other than that, it was clean and service was friendly.

    Stopped here thinking this was my hotel.  THANK GOODNESS IT WAS NOT! My immediate reaction to front lobby and exterior walking up was this ole girl needs some updating.  Walked in and was greeted by front desk staff, but not completely cordially, more of a non-emotional automaton going through the motions.  Person behind desk indicated that I did not have a reservation there and just stood there staring blankly at me.  I pulled out my reservation was relieved this was indeed not my Hampton, and asked for directions.  I received directions to another Hampton, but not mine.  There's 2 other Hamptons close by(Baymeadows and Southside) that are much more updated, closer to more restaurants and shopping, and friendlier front desk people at least.  Prices potentially reflect the down-graded hotel as I heard the front desk person tell someone on the phone that they had 2 rooms left @ my rate less $20 a night. The extra $20 at the nicer Hampton was well worth it just from this brief experience!

    I did not give star... One of the worst Hamptons I have ever stayed at. . I do not recommend it. .dirty dirty... we got to our first room and there was construction all around us. Both rooms on either side construction. . And ac was not working. . Moved to another room.  Trash in hallways and by elevator.  Room ac was noisy. . Had to get a plunger for the toilet. . Have to use plunger every time we flush.. and got woken early this morning maid opened door and we were still sleeping. Do not disturb on door. . Do not stay here..

    I just got here and really wish I would have researched this place a little first.  It is in a terrible location with pretty much no restaraunts nearby.  It is pretty old and smells very musty.  The staff at the front desk were not friendly at all and pretty unprofessional.  The room smells terrible!!!  Verrrrry musty and mildewed.....the bed is as hard as a rock.  I can tell this is not going to be a good experience but I'm only hear a night so I guess I'll tough it out

    I checked out after 1 night. .was planning on staying up to 8 nights.

    Hampton inns usually very nice.  This place is an old hotel not renovated.  Lobby is small and dank.   Rooms were musty and humid.  Wall paper in bathroom peeling w rust showing.    Vending machine broken.  No water in cooler in the small dark gym. List goes on.

    Transfered to a courtyard inn for remainder of stay and I feel like I'm living in luxury.

    What a dump!

    After reading previous trip reviews, I knew not to expect a five star property.  The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, we received an updated room.  The room was nice, but we had two complaints:
    1.  The air conditioner is extremely loud.
    2.  The ceiling above our bathtub leaked, bad.  

    We let the management know about the leaking ceiling in our bathroom and he assured us he would credit our hotel stay back to my husbands accounts (we used points for the room).  

    Standard continental breakfast but the hot items switch from day to day (western omeletts & bacon one day, scrambled eggs and yummy potatoes the next).  You can make your own waffles, customize your oatmeal, eat some fresh fruit or try some danish.  

    Pool is located out back  - did not use  because of the amount of crepe myrtle flower buds floating in the pool.

    Location is ok.  If you don't have a car, you're out of luck.  The only thing within walking distance are other hotels (the two next door  have restaurants) and there's a Dave & Busters.  You can drive to St. John's Town Center or downtown within minutes.
